Bro, the review was next level. I never thought someone could give such a complete recommendation, based on his experience and how it could be for others depending on the Dots functionality. Glad I found your channel through the OP1 8K videos.
Was randomly recommended your video, great review of the dot skates, always heard about these and never knew too much bout them 'til now, keep up the great work !
HANA might be delayed sadly, likely not getting a unit anytime soon due to some stock issues. I'll still try to cover it but it might be a while before I can get my hands on one 😭
Cyclones rock :) it's a shame they're so expensive in Canada, they're pretty much aligned to other dot prices in the UK - Cyclones are £10.99 and Obsidians are £10.89
Hey! V2 isn't on my radar currently as I likely won't be able to get a unit from Pulsar. If I have an opportunity to cover it I definitely will though!
Great video. I'm really enjoying your channel as well. Question on the audio tests. I hear a pretty harsh scrape intermittently. Is that just because of proximity to the mic capsule? Or is it plastic scraping? I've had to adjust where my dots are in order to keep a similar scraping sound from happening. I also feel like my (cheap af) desk is somewhat bowed from monitor and camera mounts which might be causing my pad to slightly bow with it. Anyway, just curious and figured you might have some insight.
awesome that you picked that up because i wanted to see if someone in the comments noticed it. I bought my first hyperlight and it didn't matter if I used STOCK skates that it came with or put on obsidian AIR's you would ALWAYS hear harsh scraping. (Glass mousepad used: Wallhack SP-004) Contacted them and sent a video showing 5 other mice with the Obsidian AIRs that made ZERO sound on that mouse pad, but every time I moved their mouse it made that scraping sound.(Feel like its scraping from the bottom some where.) They were awesome and sent me another mouse and wanted to inspect WHY the original sounded like that. Unfortunately the second mouse sounds exactly the same way :( I just use that mouse on my Saturn Pro mouse now :(
ALSO - Amount of Dot skates tried: 2 top / 2 bottom, 3 top, 3 bottom and also 4 top, 4 bottom. Amazing mouse aside from this one very annoying thing. they did a great job and their customer service is amazing. They sent me another one out before even getting the original back.
Love the video! Really making me consider changing my skates out for thr first time. You mentioned that they would work on the Hard variant of the LGG Saturn pro, but do you think they would work woth the Soft variant? If not, what skate would you recommend for CS2 on the Soft pad?
is your skates not scraping? I swear every time you do a sound test it sounds like your mouse scrapes on the bottom of the pads haha. Im sure the "closeness" of the mic is just peaking the audio when it comes closer. just sounds funny, makes my skin raise a bit
Yeah sorry about that my mic was dying (is dead now), getting a better mic soon so sound tests won't be as brutal. I was going to cut the section entirely but It's still important to include it so I left it, sorry about the audio.
I noticed you used a rather “budget” mic in the eyes of some people but if you’re looking for a good recommendation that’s not stupid expensive the fifine k688 is stupid good for the money
Have you ever tried the unusal way silver fox skates? personally have been really enjoying their dots skates on my glasspad, they are also really quit and very smooth. (using padsmith empress) Have not heard anyone review them yet though
i just found some some unbranded white ptfe dots with poron foam for 2$/40 pieces. when i order x-ray pad airs or corepads i have to shell out 18-19$ here 😢 i don't think the additional price is worth the money.
@xythiera7255 what i am saying these skates are almost on par with the new xraypads but at a fraction of the cost. i think many skates are currently wildly overpriced.
@@mel0nFPS bought them in shopee. just searched for dot mouse skates and thats what popped up. i also bought normal corepad dot skates for 18$, but i am still waiting for them. kinda wanna see which ones perform best. i think in terms of value these off brand dot skates are hard to beat. i also have some red ones and the did rather well too. then talon games skates and tiger ice skates at about 6$ and after that x-ray pad and probably corepads for like 18$(local prices in ph). performance wise on cloth they are all about the same. i was just kinda hyped because these off brands had a foam base as well as the talon games dots and were much more affordable than some renowned brands.
Deathadder V3 wired if you like ergos and WAIZOWL OGM Cloud HAWKEYE or CRIMSON LION if you like symmetrical mice. WAIZOWL OGM Pro V2 is also an option if you want a symm/ergo hybrid but it might be too small for your hands.
One moment you say we need instructions printed out with pictures then a second later you say the installation process is the same as any other dot skate....?
Apologies for the audio issues, not sure what happened with the audio. Please be sure to enable subtitles!
dude this gotta be one of the greatest dot skate reviews of all time

another day another quality upload from the Mel0n man
Picked this ones up for the Hana. Hopefully it will ship soon. Waiting for that Hana review!

I had a feeling they'd be better priced in the EU, NA pricing is always a little wacky.
I really enjoy your review's. Do you have any plans to review the SuperGlide V2?
Hey! V2 isn't on my radar currently as I likely won't be able to get a unit from Pulsar. If I have an opportunity to cover it I definitely will though!
What do you think about ghostglide edgerunner dots? Using them with kazami and I think kinda insane combo, super smooth + no noise
Don't have the edgerunners yet, will definitely try and cover them in the future though!

in a previous comment he said that its because his mic was dying

Hey, I'd avoid these for soft-pads, better to get the donut version as the larger skates won't bottom out on softer pads
@mel0nFPS thank you very much for the reply. I'll be doing that.

Hi, Melon! Do you have plans to review for new Tora Infinite Mice Glasspad?
Fingers crossed! They said they'd reach out regarding that so I'm just waiting to see whether I'll get a unit or not.
@@mel0nFPSi hope you'll get it soon, man :) waiting for ur review

Not realy better to spend your money on something compleat different to try out then clones of the old Obsidians

sounds very interesting. do you have a link or name at least?

@@hermanaugust4756 I think code mel0n works on their site, but you can get them from LGG and MechKeys which also have the same code!
what app are you using to test your aim?
Kovaaks!
@ thank you
great review, love my cyclones so far
Well it's time to try the Cyclone donuts. 😂
I got em a few days ago, they're so good! I'll have a full review on them in a few weeks !
DANG i use only like 4 dots on small mice and 6 on larger mice ahahaha
Support UK grown brand over giant manu 🙏
