TEARDOWN | Pulsar X2 Crazylight
Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of TEARDOWN! Today we'll be talking about the Pulsar X2 Crazylight! As I talked about in my review, overall the Crazylight is relatively easy to service as a unit. Opening it to clean the mouse or service some of the internals is simple. However, the mouse isn't as serviceable as previous Pulsar mice, such as the X2V2 or X2H. You can't remove some of the mouse's components. So, while the unit is serviceable enough for general maintenance, these limitations prevent you from repairing some aspects of the Crazylight, which is disappointing.
But regardless, in today's TEARDOWN video, we'll go through how to safely disassemble and reassemble the X2 ...

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of the Mel0n Review! Today, I'm very excited to talk about Pulsar's latest release, the X2 Crazylight. Now, admittedly, it's been a while since I've covered any Pulsar products here on the channel, as they've kind of been just doing the same thing for the past year or so-releasing the same products with some slight spec improvements. But this patter...

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of the mel0n review! As of late, every brand seems to be releasing some kind of hall effect keyboard, and because of this, the high-performance keyboard market has become rather over-saturated with many mediocre boards. But Sikakeyb's, a smaller brand in the keyboard world, isn't following the current trend, as their recently released Castle HM80 is...

Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of the mel0n Review! Today, I'm very excited to talk about what is, in my opinion, the most surprising mousepad release we've seen as of late, the HYPERION. What makes this pad so shocking is that it's a collaborative release from Lethal Gaming Gear and Pulsar, two of the biggest names in the peripheral space. Now, we've seen collaborative pads befo...

X-RayPad is one of the biggest names in the peripheral market, and aside from their fantastic mousepads, another one of their most popular products is their wide catalog of mouse skates! Hey everyone! Welcome back to another episode of TEARDOWN! Today we're going to be tearing down the FANTECH Aria II Pro! Keeping in line with the other FANTECH mice I've done TEARDOWN videos for, the Aria II Pro is a very serviceable mouse, one of the most serviceable of the year as a matter of fact. But while the teardown process is easier than it is on other mice, I still wanted to make a gui...

Similar layout to the wooting 80he, I just really dislike the color of the case. It might be an expensive experiment to try and fit it on a wooting 80he case.
They recently announced a black/white aluminum shell version! x.com/sikakeyb/status/1880556146093932957
@mel0nFPS they will release it by the time my case arrives , but I'll also purchase that new model when it comes out
I am kind of confused how the Meteorites are listed as the fastest skates here, but in your review you cite their immense friction(s) and control/stopping power. Are these fast on cloth or more controlled, so the regular Jades would be faster?
So, they are the fastest skates in X-RayPad's lineup, but they aren't as fast as other glass skates. Generally speaking, the Meteorites will be the fastest on all pad types, but on some, the gap between the Jades and Meteorites is quite small, depending on the pad's firmness and other factors.
@mel0nFPS thank you! What are some of the fastest glass skates you've used? I still use the Neptune per your previous recommendation for fast cloth pads.
@@mel0nFPSdevo fazer esse procedimento de pressionar por 20 segundos no Mousepad de vidro com os dots também ou somente com os donuts?
Whats the size your using here?
I had the 12" x "14 inch version!
How slow are we talking when the air pro donuts are used on glass? Any comparisons to cloth (if you can)?
The best way I can describe it is that the Pro Air Dots, when used on glass, are around a 6 or 7 out of 10 in terms of control, while the Pro Air Donuts are more in the 9 or 10 out of 10 range. Another way to explain the difference is that using the donut skates would add approximately 5 to 10 cm to your cm/360 when they're used on glass. I hope that makes sense!
What game is that with the portals?
Splitgate!
How does it compare to x2v2 mini for fingertip?
Arguably on-par with the X2V2, I give the G2 the edge due to the coating, it is slightly heavier though. That said if you're looking for a small symm mouse for finger-tip grip, the X2 Crazylight would be my recommendation: ruclips.net/video/qwpP9FWFKvA/видео.html
@mel0nFPS ty
Seems like some really thorough reviews. Good stuff. I will look into more videos later, ez subscribe !
Just a minor thing regarding your comparison between mechanical and magnetic switches, the tactile feedback midway on mechanical switches depends on the type of mechanical switch you use: Clicky, Tactile, or Linear. Linear switches shouldn't have any tactile feedback midway and basically feel the same as magnetic switches. However, magnetic switches may still feel slightly smoother than linear mechanical switches due to the lack of metal leaf contact in the bottom housing. Edit: the wisteria switches you show in this video seem to be linear switches so im surprised you say that there is tactile feedback.
21$? nooooooooooooooooo que locura
i love your reviews @mel0nFPS ... but at 12:02 you are wrong. the size of the surface has zero impact on the friction. that is a physical fact ... you can find this in every physics book. only the coefficient of the material and the weight has an influence on the friction. where things CAN make a difference is when the pads makes contact to the mouse itself (since the material coefficient will change here)
Are the M1 and M2 clicks (the new opticals) soldered or is it like hotswappable like what the X2V2 Mini have?
omron opticals are always soldered, the d2fp lineup that is. in this case they're using LK opticals but the pinout is the same.
^^
@ Ooooh okay
It's weird to see a mouse that looks like a 75g mouse but actually weighs 49g
Can't wait for the X2H CL!!
Good teardown and beautiful desk.
is the HTR pro review+teardown still coming? excellent video as always!
Yup! Just started the testing process today, videos will be up in a couple weeks.
this design is quite impressive especially from a more mainstream company like pulsar!
Significantly better than the X2V2 that's for sure!
Ok, after testing dozens of mice the past months, this just arrived today and it's pretty much nearly perfect. I wish the bottom of the shell didn't have the angled design, but rather a rounded edge like the G305 for example. Also, is there a way to disable the dongle blue LED? I can't stand it, and I guess putting something over it isn't a solution
Try holding down Left, Right and middle click for 5 seconds, that's how you disable the LED on the other versions of Pulsar's 8k dongles so I assume the same applies for the CL's dongle.
@@mel0nFPS That turned off the dongle and mouse stops working
@@mel0nFPS It was side button + middle button + right click for 5 seconds. I could've just checked the manual first.. lol
@ Oh shit I had no idea that disabled the mouse! Sorry about that, my unit didn't come with any manuals so I was just going off the older pulsar mice.
@@mel0nFPS Dude no problem nothing to say sorry about, we figured it out :) Thank you for the reviews and help
did you notice that xraypad cloned the removal tool from talon games? but it's not slim enough at the corners to really get under the skate...
I did notice that, honestly I'm glad to see a removal tool finally included as some of their skates were very tricky to remove without a pry-tool!
first
Sounds like a semi-blind buy. Thanks!
Are you still using this by any chance? if yes how is it holding?
Been using the M2 as my daily driver for work/editing since I reviewed it! Mouse has held up super well, no issues aside from the left-click getting a little loose, but it took 2 mins to fix, aside from that the mouse has been awesome!
@@mel0nFPS Do you still recommend it or should I choose other? I am considering it.
@@NP-ki5hz If you're looking for a good general use mouse absolutely, can't recommend it for gaming due to the poor coating, but for general use it's perfect.
@@mel0nFPS I will be using it for both work70%/gaming30%. Do you have other recommendation similar to this? or M2 would be the best option?
@@NP-ki5hz I think the coating will be an issue for the gaming use, if you want something more gaming focused I'd check out the Lemokey G2 (Keychron sub-brand), much better coating and specs, arguably the best mouse Keychron has released to date: ruclips.net/video/3OCTazKmCeo/видео.html
I dont think i can trust pulsar again. I got my x2v2 after they announced that they had fixed their sticky click issue and i had made an inquiry to not get old stock, my mouse still arrived with the issue. Additionally the software support is poor as i asked if the 1 year old x2v2 series mice will be updated to pulsar fusion 2 software and the answer was that they will not do it.
Totally fair, the sticky click is why I haven't covered any of their mice until now too. We'll have to see if their QC has improved here on the CL.
Hey Melon! I know this might sound weird but i actually missed when you talk a little faster, your old video often give me the vibe that you have a lot of energy and passion, I under stand that you currently talk slower now for helping people who are not native to english or special case, but I would love you give some more energy to your video like the old one, still you are still one of the best reviwer in this field out there, thanks.
Appreciate the feedback!
im so desperate for the pink crazylight
Should be releasing sometime in February if I'm not mistaken!
Ordered mine over a week ago and it hasn't even shipped yet.. wtf??
have you tried changing the skates on your carpios?
I haven't yet, probably should though 😅
Not hard tbh
what mousepad are you using in the gameplay section?
TJX KIN X, will have a review up on it in a couple weeks!
thank you! looking forward to the review
Great review as always, you're getting better and better with each one! One bit of feedback is to include some figure for what you classify each hand size measurement to be. It's a bit ambiguous right now. 👍
Appreciate the feedback! I've been trying to figure out a way to define the different hand sizes, but it's tricky 😅
The X2 mini shape is probably my favourite shape of all time along with the OP1 and they seem to have fixed my only problems with this one. I'll probably pick one up at some point but man do I need to stop. The only thing I wish they did was use mechanical clicks but their new opticals still look good. That gripe would be easily circumvented if they add the crazylight to the custom mouse service they offer where you can just pick mechanical clicks instead. Imma hold off exactly for that hopefully because I really love mechanical clicks way more.
I assume the mouse will be added to the Pulsar By You service, not sure when considering they already have the X2 series mice!
Wobbling fixed is the best news to me, even my ES model has that qc issue and that was the only thing that kept it from being perfect
Very, very good looking mouse. I agree with some of the issues you pointed out. And most importantly, it's too small in size. I wish there was a bigger version to make the palm/claw grip easier with a 20cm hand size.
I'd be shocked if we didn't see a Size 2 X2 Crazylight very soon, hopefully and X2H Crazylight too 👀
2:13 game?
Splitgate
can i f-tip this mouse with 19x10 hands?
Shouldn't have any issues! I have 19.05x12.7cm hands myself and I was able to fingertip the mouse without any issues.
@mel0nFPS i am wondering if i should wait for the green version. i love the looks of it ☺️
Super interesting switches. Would love to get my hands on some since the omron opticals are my favorite.
Mine has no double click or slam click issue at 0ms. It was only an issue with Raesha switches from Gen2 that is susceptible to slam clicking but they fixed this in a firmware update, so now all Pulsar mice released last and this year (Gen3) will not slam click anymore at 0ms (Gen3 such as the X2Hv3, Xlite V4, X2V3, Feinmann, etc). Gen2 such as the X2V2 and Xlite V3 did not get this update and I don't think they'll plan to fix it for the older mice. Just set it to 0ms, not 3ms.
A couple other reviewers had issues with their CLs. Mine has come weird behavior too when I went to lower debounce values, I assume this will get patched with a future firmware update, but Pulsar said to leave it at 3ms for now 🤷♂️
At 0ms my left click will just infinitely click every other second so its genuinely unusable so ill stick to 3ms and hope they fix it and alot of times it can stutter (esp at high polling rates 4k 8k) but that stops at 2mm Lod but im guessing that could be the SP-004 rather than the mouse? Ive only had it for 2 days but i might just keep using my X2A instead
I got mine a few days, I can confirm the QC on these are immaculate. Funnily enough it has better build quality than the standard, heavier versions. The clicks are one of the best, feels like my NP-01S V2's clicks but a tad lighter.
Are u supposed to take the dot out the donut skates?
You can leave it in or remove it, doesn't effect the skates performance either way. I keep mine in most of the time as I find that dust and other debris gets caught in the middle of the skate.
i'm glad the coating improved, as i was not the biggest fan of my x2v2 mini's one. thanks for the review
Goated review, very detailed
33 minutes of goodness ! I truly hope that this will be a pivotal product launch that makes Pulsar a much stronger competitor on the market.
When you say small medium and large hands, whats your estimate for hand sizes?
~15 x ~8cm give or take, honestly the grip style will be the most important for using this mouse, but having a medium - small hand helps.
0:58 "this video will be fully timestamped so if you're looking for a particular topic be sure to check the chapters below" nah, I'd watch the whole 33 minutes
🐐
May I ask a question off the topic? R u gonna review Tora mouse pad from infinity Mice?
I'm not sure if I'm getting a unit sadly, I was hoping I'd be getting one but I haven't received any shipping notices yet. I do really want to cover it, fingers crossed I'll get a unit 🤞
you suppose to remove the little middle part of the xraypad donut skates
You can leave them in or remove them! Doesn't effect their performance, it's purely a cosmetic thing. I like to keep them in as I found dust collects in the center if they're removed, but its completely up to personal preference.
@@mel0nFPS the inner bits doesnt have rounded edges, so they make the skates feel slightly scratchier
Waiting for a crazylight x2h mini. I'm trying out a za13-dw, loving the narrow, palm filling, hump, but the aggressive right curve makes pinky placement difficult or hand cramping. The pulsar size 2 I think would be too wide since I find the s2-dw a tad wide, great for dynamic aiming, but not precise enough for flicking.
I'd be shocked if they weren't already working on a X2H Crazylight, hopefully we'll see it release soon!
The omrons sound so much better, I can only imagine how good they feel compared to the CL's...
They honestly feel borderline 1:1, only difference with the CL's switches is a slight increase in actuation weight and a less pingy sound. I really like them though, only switch that's come close to dethroning the Omrons for me.
Is the mouse that small… or are your hands huge?
I have pretty big hands so most mice look pretty small when I hold them 😅
Both. The mouse is the mini size which is pretty small
Haha ok thanks. Great review by the way. Appreciate it.
Are you using a carpio while playing? I was curious how that felt.
I was! It's the only way I can use tiny mice like the CL haha. I did a review on both the Carpio 2.0 and G2.0 a while back! I really like them, specifically the G2.0 as it makes fingertip gripping mice very comfortable!
I use a carpio when my carpal tunnel flares up, it works really well with short mice and also strangely enough ergo mice. The thumb mouse buttons have to be back enough to click comfortably. It's good stock on glass pads but sweat will drip through the holes on the g2.0 if you get sweaty hands. On cloth pads the default ptfe skates are super slow, so I popped mine off with a pry tool and put dot skates to match my mouse.
Hey! I talked about this before in your livestreams, but i wanted to check in again in case you have any news... I have large hands and i tend to hold the mouse towards the front, not in the "middle of the hourglass", so I really HATE hourglass shape that EVERY SINGLE MOUSE offers. The only mouse shape i was happy with was g305, but its extremely outdated in terms of weight, connectivity (AA batteries, really?) and sensor/performance. The only mouse I was genuinely hyped for was the cancelled ARYE mouse, but yeah, its cancelled. Do you have any recommendations that are no-compromise in terms of tech/build and does not have a hourglass shape? Thanks.
