    I am so frustrated and disgusted. I drive less than 1000 miles a year and have an old car. I did have fairly inexpensive insurance, but they raised it $120 per year for no reason. I have no accidents, no tickets. If I get insurance-by-mile, they want to monitor everything about my driving. Forget that nonsense. Getting even one more quote literally makes me nauseous.

      It's bs..they charge good drivers for the BAD drivers...ie if your area has a lot of auto accidents your rate will increase even if you are a perfect driver!!!!!

    • @couponuser
      @couponuser 5 месяцев назад

      @@rockygraziano2339 The answer lies in the response you provided. At the age of 71, and especially after turning 60, insurance carriers categorize you as a high-risk driver, akin to a teenage driver. They base this assessment on the assumption that your cognitive skills have declined, increasing the risk to other drivers. Additionally, being on a fixed income suggests you may lack the financial means to cover car repairs, potentially leading to more claims in the future. Surprisingly, having a history of no accidents or claims could be interpreted as complacency in driving, heightening the likelihood of filing a claim. The subsequent increase in premium rates serves as a subtle indication that they prefer not to have you as a customer. If in doubt, observe their response when you inquire about a senior discount.

    May I ask 1) if the same vehicle was used throughout for comparison, 2) age of vehicle, 3) type of vehicle? Also, I agree with the source article in dropping USAA down ... I mean I know EVERYBODY raised rates this year tremendously with the first renewal due in 2023, but USAA was 30% increase! The 'raise' coincidently exactly cancelled my 30% 'savings' for allowing their telltale Safe Driver app on my phone. Honestly, its almost unsustainable at this point. Thanks for the deep dive and your recommendations.

      Insurance companies are SCAMS. Unfortunately, not many people realize that and keep paying outrageous amounts. I play musical insurance companies. When they raise my rates, I move on and can usually find a better deal. Unfortunately, I have "bottomed out." My insurance company just raised my rates for no reason. I am not happy about it, but so far, I haven't been able to find anything for less. It's just the principle of the whole thing. They raise rates because they can. They don't care a thing about customer loyalty or good driving records.
