    From what I read, they went to a recording place that had floor to ceiling led screens, and all the images were designed/prduced by Eli.

    To answer some questions:
    This was filmed in a neighbouring stdio set up with wallsize LEDscreenes. The imagery was created by Eli, using Unreal Engine, just as in My Mother Told Me- that one using green screen.
    Most props re-used from MMTM, Cesar waring the cloak that José Rosarion used. The runes they are wearing say VoicePlay.
    The rapping specially written for JNone.

      And Miracle of Sound, the song's writer, gave their version 10 out of 10 raised ale horns.

    Their dedication to their art is amazing, not only did they have to deal with J None's flight being 3 hrs late, but the AC was not working and they were running around in furs 🥵 during a Florida heat wave 🌋🤯
    Then after all this fun J None got married 🎉🎉🎉, not sure which I was happier about

    I'm usually able to pick a favorite from each of their songs but not this time. Layne did an incredible arrangement and his vocal percussion was nuts! Cesar was channeling his inner berserker and showing us he can do gritty too. Eli the rock god pushing the upper registers and showing us his talents using Unreal Engines to create the perfect background. J None surprising us spitting those bars and being his awesome self. Geoff the earthquake god unleashing with THREE B0s, the first of which was 15 seconds. VoicePlay+Viking=EPIC! You're going to LOVE their next drop which is coming soon. Once again they blow right past what you *think* they can do, and prove any song at all can be a cappella and slay.

    Geoff just keeps getting lower and lower, it's insane. Every single one of them did fantastic work with this song, definitely one of their masterpieces in my opinion 💜

      He is getting a stronger resonance with age, which seems to be allowing him to access those lower notes with more power over the past few years. I have been a low bass since my teens... then my voice did a second change around 40 and got more rounded; I believe that's what we've been witnessing from Geoff.

      @@Mark_Agamotto1313_Smith, I am pretty sure he's already capable of it. My lowest notes do and I don't have Geoff's resonance. I am 100% sure, with practice, Geoff could easily use vocal fry to get into the negative octaves. Is it useful for recorded music? No, not really... but he is probably capable of going that low.

    With the melodies and Geoff's foundation, if you listen, J.None is hanging out in mid to upper baritone, Cesar is pivoting between upper baritone and lower tenor, and Eli... well, yeah, it's Eli. Cesar is the wild card that can completely change the focus on the harmonies from low to high.

    Their talent in all aspects keeps getting better. I have to remind myself that J did not break through an old, heavy, creaky, wooden door. That was all Layne! The original artist,Miracle of Sound, watched/listened to this cover and gave them 10 raised alehorns out of 10!

    This was not greenscreen. They went somewhere else to film this. The day they filmed, the AC was out, and they were sweating in those furs. They out do themselves every time! I cannot stop watching this, it is amazing!! Geoff hits 3 B0's! Eli has become the Asgardian god of rock, Layne is a beatboxing god, Cesar has become a Berserker, and J None has shown us that rap indeed belongs in acapella! And Miracle of Sound gave this 10 out of 10 raised ale horns!! Great reaction! This from the Assasins Creed Valhalla video game, but that rap is all J None!!

    As we keep saying, VP - and Geoff - don't give reactors problems. They welcome the attention, not being with a recording company they need all the publicity they can get. However, stop if you must but waiting for the end of a line would be preferable.

    If you work for a record company why aren't they in a studio cutting albums I'd by them

    • @cauldroncreations
      @cauldroncreations Год назад +7

      It is my understanding that they don't want to give up the creative control they have with being independent, and who can argue with the results. If you join their patreon even some of the their lower teirs give access to downloadable mp3's of not only the original recording but a karaoke version as well.

    • @huldradraco
      @huldradraco Год назад +7

      VoicePlay could get a record deal any time they want, they get offers all the time. but they prefer to stay independent to stay in complete control. also, record labels take a huge chunk of artists income, and nowadays people aren't buying physical albums as much anymore. so it pays off a lot more to just stay independent and publish for free online, without the huge cost of physical albums and a record deal.

    • @Gael4ce
      @Gael4ce Год назад +2

      Geoff explained this not too long ago.
      What they do is the offer you some big deal that sounds amazing. They’ll like “we’ll sign you for a million a year”…sounds great on the surface.
      Then you read the fine print. They charge you all expenses. Studio time? You pay that. Travel expenses? You pay that. All expenses related to making a video? You pay that. All expenses involved in mixing and production of recordings? You pay that. Hotels and transportation for tours? You pay that. For everyone you need to tour with you. Security? You pay that.
      By the time all is said and done, they can easily suck back most of not all of what you were promised.
      And then they take like 75 percent of sales.
      To put this in perspective, EnVogue was a top group in the early nineties. Number one hits, massive tours, all over the radio: those ladies pulled about 40k a year by the time all was said and done. You can make more managing a McDonalds.
      And…they are telling you how to dress, how to wear your hair, what songs you’re allowed to do….ect.
      What VP has now:
      Layne co owns a studio with an ex VP named Tony. They do most of their shoots there. Eli handles the lighting and is learning how to do comp generated backgrounds in unreal engine. (He did all the backgrounds in this video.) Geoff and Layne can both do video and sound editing. They can all run a camera although Layne is the best at it. The only thing they hire out for is extremely fancy make up (like here), an occasional extra camera or two as needed, and the final audio mixing.
      They have seriously reduced expenses by doing so much themselves so they have better odds of actually making a profit. They do the songs they want how they want, they answer to no one but themselves, and no one is taking the lion’s share or their earnings.
      The question isn’t why haven’t they signed. The question is why would they want to? It would likely be a reduction of income and would absolutely cost them creative control. And…control of how much they tour vs. how much they’re at home with their kids. Well, 2 of them have kids. I think a third is wanting one.
      Yes, a label may make them more famous, but none of them are after that. They just want to make a living doing what they love. And they’re doing that already.
      I think that’s part of why so many people find Pentatonix a tad…well…bland these days. They are with a major label. They’re doing what they are told and how they are told; I don’t get the impression they are still having fun doing what they do. Avi bailed based on the grinding tour schedule. Those labels will happily work an act to death to make a few more bucks.
      VP is happy where they are. They’re making a living, having fun, and doing exactly what they want how they want it done.
      And look at the results. 😊
