    Yeah, if your batteries take forever to charge and your project requires multiple battery charges, you’ll be waiting around for a while for batteries to charge if you only have 2 or 3. I borrowed my sister’s blower and if my yard had been any bigger, I would have had to either have more batteries or charge the batteries overnight and finish the next day.

I can see it for limited purposes like long term nothing but leaf blowing, etc. But now you've gone from a cordless tool to a corded one if you want to drop your tool to multitask. Regarding the hyper charger, doesn't extreme fast charging LI batteries generally mean lowering life expectancy? Thanks!

    Of course Ryobi not Ryobi would be upgrading their 40V platform when I decide that I’m going to slowly migrate to Greenworks 60V line of OPE! Thanks Ryobi not Ryobi. That multi pack harness does look nice though!

    • @ajgreen868
      @ajgreen868 Год назад

      Don’t feel bad for migrating to Greenworks. Their equipment is built better. By buddy does warranty fixes for ego, Greenworks and Ryobi mowers. He currently has 1 Greenworks and 1 ego mower in for warranty repairs. He has 39 Ryobi mowers! This is one of the prices you pay for coming out with new tools so quick. The consumer becomes the tester for the 1st generation of products. Now having said that I do own both Greenworks and Ryobi for my outdoor equipment. One thing I will say is that I’ll never own another Ryobi mower again that’s for sure.

    • @txvet7738
      @txvet7738 Год назад

      @@ajgreen868 oddly enough I’ve never had any issues with any of my Ryobi 40v OPE and I bought them when Ryobi launched their 40v OPE line. Last year I decided to jump into electric lawnmowers with my Ryobi 40v mower. Don’t get me wrong mine works just fine but I see Ryobi mowers like this generation of Tonka toys, tough and plastic. My generation was tough and metal. I just like the feel of a metal deck mower, although my Greenworks 60v 20” chainsaw is a beast that none of Ryobi’s chainsaws can compete with!

    • @ajgreen868
      @ajgreen868 Год назад

      @@txvet7738 yes sir, I love the metal decks as well cause they don’t flex. That’s another problem the Ryobi mowers have. They flex and the blade hits the side. I use ryobi for the stuff the Greenworks doesn’t make. Greenworks has amazing products and they’re very well built.

    • @txvet7738
      @txvet7738 Год назад

    These batteries and chargers remind me heavily of RC car battery. It seems that Ryobi is taking a page from RC car lipo fast charging. This will degrade the battery overtime, how much remains to the quality of their cells. It does make me want to take apart one of my 40-volt packs and see what the actual battery cells and configuration are and see what their actual charge a discharge rates are. It also makes me tempted to modify a set of RC lipo packs so I can get a 25 amp hour configuration at around the same price point of a Ryobi 40-volt battery, and likely around the same weight.

      @@nesp_phieti just buy a corded version? Cordless version will never actually have the same power as corded, this is not in debate. Also, you would still be limited by the maximum amount of current you could shove through the tool, because it would be looking for 40 V DC at whatever discharge rate the batteries can do. If you design a tool around 120 V AC, you can do 1,500w or around 12 and a half amps continuously. Given that the 40-volt tools would have to push nearly 38 amps, I suspect they aren't designed for that amperage. This means that you're now accorded tool would likely be still Limited. You are in a situation where a corded device would work better, they make those. I didn't buy cordless tools for the cord back on it. I believe yorktest Channel on RUclips actually tested some M fuel 18-volt stuff on a cord adapter, and it did not make any more power.

    MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼……………………………………………….The thing that “ crushes my soul “ about the 40v Ryobi batteries is that they SUCK. At least the ones I have. I LOVE the platform, but the batteries I have don’t last. I have bought 40v tools just to get the battery that’s included, thus I have brand new 40v tools that have never been used because it was cheaper to buy a tool with battery than to just buy a bat-er-ray! That’s just WRONG!! BTW, the parent company ( TTI ) of Ryobi also owns Milwaukee and makes power tools for Ridgid. That’s why ( it seems) all three companies come out with similar tools within a short amount of time of each other, ( I am NOT saying Milwaukee tools are the same as the other two brands, I’m just saying that they have similar ideas for tools at the same time, they might share a tool development department, that’s all! It would be a cost savings for the parent company. )they just use the different proprietary batteries from each brand. This was told to me by an employee at one of the Direct Tools stores that I frequent when I ask why they started carrying some Milwaukee tools along with Ryobi and Ridgid. Then I googled it! LOL!
