I didn't even think about the cargo plate tripping me up. That would definitely be a situation that ended with my neighbors telling a TV News crew, "He was a GOOD man! I don't know what made him snap!" . . . it's good you can take it off!
The irony is.... If a youtuber converted a saw stand in to this then everyone would be "wow bro that's fantastic, I wish tool companies were so innovative." 😂
It would be great for craft shows. Use the dolly to roll out your boxes of merchandise then set it up as a display table. Add a table cloth and you are good to go.
Bought one last week.A but tricky to assemble with he spacers, but really pleased with build quality.Plant to use for general work and lawnmower maintenance.Put an angled steel strip to prevent mower slipping Thanks for the video.
As for the router table modification, it depends how you would do it. I am way too cheap to buy a dedicated router for a table and an insert to go with. So I Just cut a hole in 10 mil plywood, attached a trim router base from underneath, made a small fence and called it a day. Mine was just a sheet that overhangs my bench and attaches to it via dogholes, with overhang having a small frame to support the plywood. So this table might work for a router, but I agree with you that trying to attach a router insert to it might be a bit too much.
The fact that you pronounce Ryobi the right way, the way it should be pronounced, is enough to make me wanna keep supporting your channel. Keep it up Clint. It’s “real nass like”
I have one of these as a mobile workstation for 3D printing post processing and it is amazing! A lot of stuff like sanding, bondo, and spray paint you just can't do inside but this makes it easy to have a big enough work space to get my projects done.
I like it. I think the cargo plate would be better if it had a push button release and maybe fold over rather than remove. I see mud getting stuck in those tubes as is.
I absolutely love this Clint. Great overview as always. I’ll use the for moving bushels of tomatoes and canning prep. Nothings worse than all day in the kitchen on a nice summer day! Gonna get Mike to get me one. Your videos got me addicted to Ryobi not Reeobi tools 🥰
Or if the slope is even greater you could make a pair of quick-attach wheels or runners and have hand truck dolly cart workbench skateboard/toboggan! I’m all in on this thing.
I have a V8 handtruck that is similar in that it works traditionally or can be opened into a four wheel flat bed. While that table top is very nice, it probably adds some weight that would not be real nass like when hauling 5 full file boxes down 19 steps to the basement, or worse, up 19 steps from the basement. Also, that thick front plate won't slide under a stack of boxes. In other words, UPS and FedEx ain't gonna use it. The price is in line with a good 427 cu. in. handtruck. I think I paid about $150 for mine without the table top or the other options. Being able to attach that vacuum is real nass like!! THANKS for the video Clint. Have a great week!!
Dolly/truck/hand cart?.? Nope..we call them “sack-trucks” cos in warehousing/storage depots/docks etc the main use is moving industrial quantities of sack stored goods. Obviously some trades use them for their specific needs…a builder might use one to move paving slabs, a garage/repair shop might use one to move vehicle batteries etc, but in UK…it’s a sack truck. It is a neat unit and being multipurpose saves space…I’m sure it could be adapted with jigs for all sorts of purposes. My only quip would be it looks rather weighty, especially if you are lifting it into a van or pick up.👍
This would be a very useful item for IT field work also. I quite frequently have parts that we use a two-wheeler to transport and I have a collapsable table to have a portable work area when necessary. This would take care of carrying a table with me.
Greatl review. My only gripe about the wheels isn't the size, it's just that a good dolly has real rubber inflated tires to travel over rough ground or up and down stairs. But it looks like a very cool tool.
Thanks for the video. I bought one of these things and I have several observations. One, I think you could usefully install a router insert, but for a trim router, not a full-size router. Two, this thing is very heavy. What makes it strong makes it weigh 56 lbs.! That's too much starting-weight to want to use this thing to replace a typical dolly. The only way I see using it as a dolly is with your pack out boxes to a job site where you plan to use this thing as your work surface. As a DIY guy I doubt I'll use it as a dolly more than once a year, so that part will be removed for normal use. My tubes lined up poorly, probably from shipping damage, but could have been warped from manufacturing welding. Needed a dead blow hammer to force some parts together. Lasly, as you pointed out, the guides are painted onto the wood surface. That's not going to hold up to use over time. Should have been laser engraved.
My situation is that, on occasion, I need a Hand Dolly/Dolly Cart/whatever, and occasionally I need a project worksurface. I think this would be great in my case. Sort of a Jack-of-Two-Trades, King of none. That's fine by me. Jack level quality is fine when it would only be used once in a while. I also like the longer worksurface due to it also being the dolly backer. Stows nicely, also. As for the wheels...either get a dedicated "King quality" dolly or maybe there's a way to DIY some inflatable after-market wheels.
I love your dolly! I'm sure there will be hate for the re-imagined stand, "I could do better", all of that thread-crapping mess but you know what, there is a market for this stand. There are plenty of folks that are not hardcore chest thumping weekend keyboard warriors but for people doing light home improvements, this would be a great addition to their garage or handyman workshop Sounds like Ryobi nailed it! And I ain't angry...
How could you hate that its the same thing as the rigid miter saw stand? Sounds like a perfect mobile outboard table to accompany the rigid stand to me... I guess maybe people could see it as cheaping out but hey things like this dont last long in the tool world. I want one while they are here. :P
Looks really versatile and quick to set up. I could see someone swapping out the top with multiple options to support a router, or adding a larger top that could slide adjust to be centered after you flip it in place. A creative woodworker could go crazy with top options!
I have 2 of the Rigid miter saw carts and I think this a great idea for that mechanism. I also prefer the single handle bar vs the 2 handles on the Rigid.
I did the mobile DJ thing for a while and this could 100% work for that. The only thing is needing to find the right covers to turn it into something that is presentable at a wedding.
i can see it being used for campers i have a Blackstone 17 inc table top flattop an traveling it great it good for tailgating just well need a goid table or something for it. then well uf ur cooking on go u need good prep table. for cuting meat veggies or what ever. then u can also use it as handtruk so i can haul gear easier. the only problem i have with it is price which well bit expensive but reasonable
Looks like there is plenty of room to add 2 pieces of 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 1/8" or 3/16"th x 24"lg aluminum angle thru bolted to the bottom with flathead screws countersunk in the top for stiffeners or extra support to make a router cutout. Nice tool! I could also see an insert with a mounted bladeguard for adding a cordless, Ryobi circular saw and a moveable, simple fence with 'T' square clamped to the table.
Great video very informative But i've seen that Ridgid Cart on sale at home depot for $100. Next time I see on sale. I'll definitely buy it and make me a table
I know someone that is using this Ryobi table as a mobile Router Table and they love it. I was thinking of doing the same. I have a Ridged mitre saw stand and that Ryobi table is not even close to my stand. The wheels are close to the same size but the rests not
Looks cool and is a great idea. However, I don't know if the same supplier manufactures them because the main frame looks identical. But all of these foldable saw tables/stands have the same problem: they break at the tube bend that forms the cargo plate due to fatigue failure. Delta addressed the issue by welding a support onto theirs. My Ridgid folding bench broke in this spot. A different brand's floor model at a store I visited was also broken at the same spot.
@ToolReviewZone probably would need too though. Throw a sheet of ply across, especially useful when assembling window and door casinga and pocket whole screwing wainscoting together. Would like to see that price around 150, but I get it.
Seems like the dolly is sized just right for the whole link system. I can see this for my garage but also to use the link boxes as camp kitchen and then have the table for outdoor cooking on the go.
I would like to know how high it sits off the floor. Also, how is the top attached? In the video, it looks to me like it's connected with some screws through brackets around the tubes. You could probably make your own router top, use threaded inserts to attach tops to, and change between the original and the router top or whatever kind of configuration you want. I'm just trying to imagine the possibilities.
These look really cool. But I have to say, if they give you two storage link brackets and only one bucket with the unit, wouldn't one bracket be for your tool wall? The second time I've seen a review on these and this has not been suggested. Oh and Ryobi if your listening, we want these in Australia!
I like it. Perhaps they will make a hinge for the bottom plate so it can be folded away when it’s in table mode. Of course that would increase the cost but other than that I think it’s a great idea. As for router table option, could a person just attach a thicker board. If they are willing to cut a hole in the existing board I’m sure they wouldn’t be against changing the board for another. 🤷♂️
Now they need to make an expansion kit for it so you can replace the dolly handles with wheels and the removable shin killer plate with an extended upright handle so it could also be used as a four wheel cart
Maybe it’s the un- level ground but it sure looks like the table top is at least 1 1/2 inches out of level when set up. Is it just me ? Will objects roll off of it?
Having minimal garage space to work with, I wish i could have 2 or 3 of these to just roll in the backyard when I'm working on a project, instead of fussing around with bulky sawhorses
I bought one and love it, 'except' for the table top's markings. If you want to keep it nice, don't use it. But when you are on a job site and want to cut wood, it scratches the crap out of it! There's gotta be a way to protect the top from scratching and wearing off the markings. Any suggestions?
@@ToolReviewZone Talked to a buddy over of Home Depot about it. We looked into the spray and also the quart can and applying several coats (after each coat has enough time to thoroughly cure). There is a Pro polyurethane for high traffic floors, but only comes in a gallon. We also talked about the option of using epoxy. Love the table for job sites. Just want the top to stay fairly nice. Have you applied anything on your top yet, and if you did, what's the results?
I like it . Depends on the price.. and if I can put a new top on it? Not crazy how the vacuum jiggles on the latches. But think that could be fixed by attaching a board.
This could be great for the scouts, perfect for when they are selling cookies or popcorn. Use the handcart to dolly the boxes from the car or truck then use the table to setup their selling table.
Wow if this was out before I moved out of my apartment I would have been all over it. Now that I have a pretty good-sized shop with a solid work bench, I can't really justify it. But I can imagine how useful it could be for people working with limited space. Who just want something to pull out for that one job and then store it easily.
3:15 The only thing I would have done different was to add two tubes up higher to store the bottom plate on, maybe like a shelf to set things on while you work, otherwise if you're not banging your ankles on it, you're probably gonna trip on it when you leave it on the floor :D
Seems like some interchangeable benchtops would be simple to make and relatively easy to swap out without interfering with the setup/takedown mechanism. Make yourself a router table top, table saw top, spindle sander/shaper top and switch as needed. Paint it red if ya be feelin' a little wussy .
For the storage containers, I bet there will soon be plans on online to have lids 3D printed. Or if you’re good at that kinda thing you could probably make them yourself
Dang , I really want to get this since I have a small one care garage and need to take out all my tools when working on projects but didn't think id be catching v8 strays on my new tundra....
It cracks me up when people get butt hurt because one manufacturer makes something and competitors copy (and maybe even improve on) it.! Anyone remember 30 years ago when Hitachi brought out the first sliding miter saw ? Everyone copied it and now I don't even see Hitachi saws any more. If someone has a patient then fine, let them fight it out in court. When was the last time you heard about a little guy that got a patient and when they tried to enforce it against a big company they got anywhere against the corporate lawyers?
Too bad there are not some silicone /rubber pads on the bottom legs that connect to the flat dolly platform to prevent damage to flooring if you are using it indoors on a vinyl floor or laminate floors.
The hand truck nose (sometimes called the skid) has a limited usefulness. You want that to be fairly thin so you can skid it up underneath your package. With a normal nose, you only need to lean your package a little. With this, you have to put some leverage on your package to get under it. If you're just stacking boxes, it's probably OK. As a bench, there is not enough side-to-side cross bracing. It looks like it will rack too easily. I'm very indoctrinated into the Ryobi-not-Reeobi ecosphere, but this one is not for me.
I have the Rigid and I think it's better because you can have multiple tools that can attach which snap on snap off like my Miter saw or you can get a piece of oak plywood for a work top snap it off use the top on the kitchen table or you could mount a router to a solid piece oak snap on snap off and it has adjustable work supports at ether side so you could mount a skill saw to wood surface and now you have a table saw I think you get the picture 📸
The complaint in regard to possibly forgetting to remove the screw container before folding the stand up is about as nit-picky as you can get and quite frankly hilarious 😂
Sweet, I like 🎉 this Reeeooobie thing invention from a Rigid miter saw stand. As for a router plate attachment thingamabob, no problem. Cut out your router plate, and underneath, add 3/8” or 1/2” frame to beef it up, and you can use a trim router to save space. Reverse engineer the plate opening and use existing plate holes to put the surface back on. As a trim router and plate lift out all in one, being small and not intrusive. That slightly beefed up area underneath should not interfere with using your two wheel dolly-lift-truck-cart whatchamacallit being centrally located. Add a spot for a clamp on vise, add some dog holes, turning this thing into a portable outside work bench. Hmmm, a cup and glasses and dust mask holder…. Or maybe🤔 thinks…. Though, if you build it, they will come, or be copied. Oh, I am glad, it is not painted green, as it would clash with my blue tools. Snarks at red and yellow colours. 😮😅
Great walk-through, thank you!... so when is it available?(would you like me to test it out in the field for you?😉) And when you were bending down, taking on and off that bottom support plate, I heard a lot of huffing and puffing was that Vince guy around

3:15 The only thing I would have done different was to add two tubes up higher to store the bottom plate on, maybe like a shelf to set things on while you work, otherwise if you're not banging your ankles on it, you're probably gonna trip on it when you leave it on the floor :D
Looks really good but I’ve got a problem with the table isn’t square to the ground. Or was the video shot on a slope
Was shot in a hill
This is what I’ve been looking for for years
Hmmm, MFT Top and 2040 Aluminum extrusion on the side for a DashBoard? Systainer clips on the cargo plate?
What about using it as a table saw stand? More specifically the Ryobi battery powered one?
Would be good 👊
Seems like some interchangeable benchtops would be simple to make and relatively easy to swap out without interfering with the setup/takedown mechanism. Make yourself a router table top, table saw top, spindle sander/shaper top and switch as needed. Paint it red if ya be feelin' a little wussy .
Can alway use an extra pop up table for the uninvited guests 😂🤣
Here in the uk we call it a sack barrow, looks fantastic
Wow! That is a nice work becth. I would have for me. I am going to buy this when it’s come out. Thxs for sharing flint!
🤣😎👊
“U mad bro” comment 😂😂😂
🤣👊
For the storage containers, I bet there will soon be plans on online to have lids 3D printed. Or if you’re good at that kinda thing you could probably make them yourself
Dang , I really want to get this since I have a small one care garage and need to take out all my tools when working on projects but didn't think id be catching v8 strays on my new tundra....
It looks cool, seems like it could come in handy for a lot people. Im not one of those people, and $200 seems a bit steep for me as well.
What are your thoughts on mounting a miter saw?
Would be good 👊
I know it's early and all but, "Dear Santa, I want one."
Never to early to start writing Santa. He gets backed up pretty quickly
Clint my brother, what are you doing spending my monies on tools from Ryobi!! The wife sent this to me before I saw you posted it!! Lol
Lmao, I SAID I WAS SORRY!!!! 🤣👊👊👊👊
@@ToolReviewZone lol
Just bought a dewalt table, what are those ones going for?
It cracks me up when people get butt hurt because one manufacturer makes something and competitors copy (and maybe even improve on) it.! Anyone remember 30 years ago when Hitachi brought out the first sliding miter saw ? Everyone copied it and now I don't even see Hitachi saws any more. If someone has a patient then fine, let them fight it out in court. When was the last time you heard about a little guy that got a patient and when they tried to enforce it against a big company they got anywhere against the corporate lawyers?
Thanks for this info! I'll be getting me one of those nass thangs as soon as they are available.
I am a big old boy I would use it to eat my 5 course lunch on at lunch time.
If it supported more weight in dolly/hand truck mode, I’d buy it. 300 lbs isn’t quite enough for my needs. I need a minimum of 400 lbs
I love those old Mayan civilisation carvings of ancient V8 engines. 🖖
🤣👊
Are you going to review? The ryobi gen2 18in chainsaw
I can and I will 👊
I have the Rigid and I think it's better because you can have multiple tools that can attach which snap on snap off like my Miter saw or you can get a piece of oak plywood for a work top snap it off use the top on the kitchen table or you could mount a router to a solid piece oak snap on snap off and it has adjustable work supports at ether side so you could mount a skill saw to wood surface and now you have a table saw I think you get the picture 📸
The complaint in regard to possibly forgetting to remove the screw container before folding the stand up is about as nit-picky as you can get and quite frankly hilarious 😂
I assume you can haul your pack out tool boxes with this as well. You should show how that works.
From Oz: Trolley!
Anyway looks great. Ideal for a micro workshop in a unit, small house etc. Not sure if available in Australia.
I'm confused. Where does the battery go?
Nice! But it seems to be very close to the ground as a bench
I'm 6' just to give you an idea to how it would fit people
I plan on purchasing one!
If you do, let me know what you think
I’ll assume that you filmed this on a hill and the cart normally would be level, or is it built with an incline?
On a hill
I want one. Where can I go to pick one up?
Brilliant, Innovative, and very useful.....😊
Appreciate the awesome comment monkey 👊
Great walk-through, thank you!... so when is it available?(would you like me to test it out in the field for you?😉) And when you were bending down, taking on and off that bottom support plate, I heard a lot of huffing and puffing was that Vince guy around
I like it a lot, Real Nass Like! Wish I had a use for it though
