- Today I fished a place that is near and dear to my heart... Estero Bay. Estero is a estuary that is close to home, a easy fishing location for me. Today I went over the history of this special ecosystem, as well as catching the coveted snook and redfish while doing it. Enjoy.

Man, this is truly an amazing love letter to the place where I call my home waters. From the anciet Caloosa to the modern day, they bay is soaked in history and life. It's awesome to see it in this light

Awesome video!! One of my favorites so far, as I boat down the Imperial River weekly and frequently fish New Pass and Estero Bay. Makes me feel so grateful having this ecosystem available. Very interesting to hear the history around the preservation efforts. Keep it up, seriously amazing content.

great video of estero bay. Wish we could have seen more variety of inshore species. Almost seems like the bay is struggling. In Bonita you can go out and catch a grand slam fairly often.
Watch some of my later videos. Have gotten some slams. Been fun. I agree though, wish it was more consistent
Was not expecting this to pop up on the feed. Naples, Fl gang. My dad, papa, great granddaddy and his daddy have fished from Pine Island down to Chokoloskee sinces the 20's. The stories they could tell you man. This is awesome. It definitely isn't like it used to be. Maybe one day the state will get its act together. Keep it up man!

I used to live on Hendry Creek in the mid 90’s and had many great days in that section of the bay. Many called it “No-Fish Bay” back in the day. They just never wanted to put the time in to figure it out.
One last thing, thank you for pronouncing Mullock Creek correctly…..lol.

Christian, great vid at a beautiful place, as a native i have fished the entire east coast from Key West to jacksonville but never made it to the lower west side, on the bucket list. i have fished the tampa and Sarasota areas north so I'm hoping the SW areas will be a new experience with excellent scenery.
It’s a very underrated fishery. Giant snook aren’t the easiest to catch, plenty of slots, nice reds, tarpon. But not as busy as other places which I appreciate greatly

Hey man, I am wondering cuz I do fish this area periodically but where was this by? I understand if you don't want to give it out, but I am just wondering so I can see where you are fishing compared to where I usually am. I also put in at mullock creek boat ramp in my 1996 Ghennoe 15'6. Again man, Love all of your videos! I have been also slamming 30 pound tarpon / 20-33 inch reds / 12-30 inch snook also! I am also using some live shirmp / live mullet / cut ladyfish/ NLBN 3in" and 5" plus the Savagegear shrimp!

@@christian_masterson Alright, I think I have a better idea, from running around on where you are close to, thanks man, again love watching your content. Me and my dad have been watching it more and more, because we used to be a offshore based family until we got the ghennoe and watching you, now we fish inshore a lot more and have so much fun! I have never fished there. If you check out my last video I wade fished Estero. Although, I took my skiff to a bag and hopped out. If it’s dead low you can walk from along the road somewhere I bet but I’ve never done it. Better to park a boat or kayak off the road!
@@christian_masterson I appreciate that! I'll have to scout that out. I'm looking for new spots. Unfortunately, Titusville isn't what it once was since the algae blooms but I've read the grass is coming back in Mosquito Lagoon and parts of the Indian River but not yet to the spots I can walk to.

@@christian_masterson It is one of the few places with a land locked population of bull reds (and black drum as well) without the bull sharks as an added bonus (though people claim they have seen them in Mosquito Lagoon but most likely the northern end which is closer to the inlet in New Smyrna). It has been years - and it sounds unbelievable - but I've had schools of literally hundreds of fish - both red and black drum - swim around me while standing on a sandbar at Haulover Canal in the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. There is a creek that flows into the north end of the western lagoon that would hold juvie tarpon. If you were quite enough could sneak right into the middle of them. Fun to catch on light tackle using small gold foil suspending jerk baits. Used to be.............so sad to say/hear those words.
