It would be great for the local communities and the Government to realise the true value of these precious habitats and that they could reap the benefits of eco-tourism instead of devastating the land with mining and logging.

@@martinthepom thank you mate. Yes, they are from totally different areas. The Mahakam River is incredibly long. The red kaloi is primarily at the lower reaches, and whilst you can also find mahseer there, we go to the upper reaches to fly fish for them. The different rivers and jungle are also managed by different Dayak tribes.
Haha, yeah we were really lucky. The fly flew out of its mouth, and out of pure frustration, I slapped the fly back, and the fish came back and took it the second time. Absolutely insane 😜😜
