i went to vavaline….pretty sure i spelled the oil change place wrong but i went there to get it oil changed n they filled it up and then to found out i got a head gasket issue. insurance want fix it b/c “third party” say it’s wear and tear. even tho i had front damage from my accident 😒. still gonna ask y it’s not accident related just b/c it wasn’t mentioned still doesn’t mean anything leaks doesn’t have to be external for it to be seen/reported.
2nd Gens are solid, 300K plus mile vehicle no problem. The paint issue is real, but Toyota isn't the only manufacturer experiencing this issue with white paint. Its a keeper. I’m using Amzoil, what are you using?
You’re definitely correct, 300K all day!! if my only problem is some paint issues, we’re not doing too bad.. and since it’s come up, i’ve noticed paint problems on all kinds of newer vehicles i see around town, mostly white.. it’s that single stage thing that i think is the biggest problem.. I love Amsoil, im using it in the 2007 right now, i need to put some in the Platinum.. i’ll definitely do it soon! 👍🏼
I have a 13 platinum with this color. 189k so far I use pennzoil which is 2nd best to Amsoil. Hope she does last 300k plus 🤙🏽 haven’t had it long so this makes me feel good 👍
A family friend of ours has a 2010 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4.6 2WD with a Sunroof and he has taken care of it mechanically even though it has about 120 something thousand miles and the reason why he had put that many miles is because his Sequoia is a family vehicle and I remembered riding in that SUV a few times and man was it comfortable but some day, I might buy it from him and use it for some light off roading even if it is a 2WD SUV but it isn’t gonna go through water or mud because that’ll kill it instantly
If you own an FJ, make sure to buy some windshields to go along with it. It is what it is. They're neat but I don't nearly see the draw for the price. I'll say this they definitely hold their value but I would go for a 4runner. Basically the same architecture. It's like the Lexus vs Landcruiser. Love both but the Lexus is definitely easier to find and that ain't easy. But yeah don't dilute your antifreeze. The Toyota stuff might be expensive, but like oil it's cheap compared to engines. That's just me and how I roll.
You got that right, 4Runners and FJ’s are seriously the same thing give or take a few inches.. Just something cool about FJ’s, i prefer the 2010’s and up. 👍🏼
FJ cruiser with 37,000 miles for $44,888, plus about $10,000 in mods on it? My red flags are going off. I am in Chile, where they still sell new ones. They are around $100,000+ now with tax, etc (2020 was the last I checked). Probably about $80,000 before taxes and extras. Perhaps it is the crazy distortions in market in the states. I just find it strange it would have only 37,000 miles, with the way it looks under it, and it has a replaced windshield. FJs go through windshields, but not that soon. That rust seems strange at that age.
Absolutely strange it would only have 37K miles on it. The undercarriage looked like it has some serious years of wear and tear.. and your right about the windshield.. I think there is something fishy going on with that FJ.. I drove by tonight and it was gone, maybe just on a different part of the lot, but i think maybe someone bought it.. 😬
Maintenance !!!!

I got a 96 Toyota T 100 black 2 Wd 5 speed Manual . Bought it like about 3 or 4 months.
Can’t go wrong with a T100, i can’t wait to get another!! ‘96 is a great year!! 👍🏼
You might be able to rattle can that paint chip. They make color matched spray paint cans.
Absolutely, they sell the base, the blizzard pearl and clear in aerosol, as a kit online. It’s definitely on my to-do list! 👍🏼

If it drains more coolant you might have Head Gasket leak nothing else
Most likely the ticking will come back. Might be a good time to trade it in!
That’s what i’m sayin, let’s just move on! A great excuse for something new!! 👍🏼
