    The Sequoia is fine with over 144 thousand miles I was a manager at Jiffy Lube back when I was in my twenties and Toyota’s came in all day everyday with 200 to 300 thousand miles and ran perfect.of course they were well maintained...never seen an American car with that many miles come in..Love Toyota..

    Man high mileage is nothing for Toyota’s my Tundra has 249k still drives fast . 144k is low miles . Love Toyota

    I bought my 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser with 138K miles. It runs great...no leaks or squeaks. Just as long as the owners keeps up with the maintenance intervals, I wouldn't sweat it.

    I’ve have had 6 Tacomas , 4 Tundras , 1 Land Cruiser, 1 Prius V , 1 Rav-4 Hybrid and a Sequoia drove the crap out of all of them usually sold them at around 250,000 miles only because I drive a lot . Hands down my favorite is the 2019 Sequoia. Bought it from Toyota dealer 6 year 100, 000 Toyota certified it came from rental fleet 25,000 miles on it $30K . The ride is fantastic the cargo space is huge ( with third row and second row folded down flat ) tow a Lance 2385 travel trailer 7,100 towing capacity . Four wheel it a lot and does great . Only downside is 14mpg but after looking at a 2024 Sequoia ( which I like except for the cargo space Hybrid system takes up space ) I think I will keep this one it’s like the Swiss army knife of SUVs . Thanks for sharing

    The reason why that Sequoia is not the used car lot and not at the dealership lot because of his high miles dealers probably take it as a trade-in but then they would also auction it off to those ma and pops car dealership. The car might not be high mileage for the engine but it’s high for selling it at the dealership as a used car.

    I bought a 2012 sequoia platinum with 143k, little higher mileage than I was looking for but it was definitely worth it. It has 252k now three years later and only issue is exhaust leak at a joint causing cat code. Been very happy with it!

    Those are such good looking vehicles. I miss my Tundra that I sold a few months ago....but I sold it at the height of demand in 2020 here in Reno so I got blue book cash. Why did I sell? I might buy the 2022 Tundra. $15k cash down payment is burning a hole in my pocket. So for now Im rockin my 1993 Honda accord lol. We recently bought an AWD 2013 Sienna limited with dual sunroofs and heated leather seats....so luxury! If we don't like the 2022 Tundra Im getting an older Tundra "limited" trim!!!! Great video guys. These older Toyotas will go up in value once V8s are no longer made new.

    Just seeing this in 2023 and I don't think I can get that vehicle for that price in that condition and mileage. These Sequoias hold there value and even appreciate at times. 144k on a Sequoia is just brand new. The truck is literally just breaking in. Great vehicle. Congrats

    I own a 2013 Sequoia limited. I absolutely love it. Mine was old man owned, Toyota serviced and bought at the same lot. Wife's got a Highlander that conviced me to go this way. Mines only got 114k but then again this wasn't a cheap proposition. But I am a spiritual person and this truck still catches my breath. So much so I forget about the downside.. MPG. These are indeed unicorns. It took us 3 months of careful research and looking. We had to travel to Muncie for ours. Owners don't tend to sell them. The average ownership is 10 years for these things. Most just as you pointed out have high mileage. Remote start on these is on the fob. Press 'lock' 3 times and hold it on the 3rd. Works like a charm with my mine. Ironically I stayed away from the platinum trim because of that center console. We have a lot of family up north and we like to camp. The limited trim had everything I could ask for. We have that JBL navigation system.. I love it. Sounds and drives beautifully. I love that v8. Nice video by the way.

    • @CJ-nk1ls
      @CJ-nk1ls 6 месяцев назад

      Hi do you know if remote start is standard on the limited? Just got a 2016 and was hoping it had it.

    • @PearComputingDevices
      @PearComputingDevices 6 месяцев назад +1

      @CJ-nk1ls No, I don't believe it is. The best way to figure out if you have it is by doing the three 'lock' presses and on the final just hold down the lock botton for a few seconds. If you have that option it will start. If not then of course you don't. Best of luck.

    Sequoia has a better 4wd system than the Tundra. You can drive in 4wd on pavement in the Sequoia because it has a center differentail like the Land Cruiser. Good for rain or mixed conditions. It also have the option to lock the center diff when you're in really slippery stuff so that the front and rear axles are locked together. Can't do that in the Tundra because it doesn't have a center diff so the front and rear axles turns at the same speed and you'll get driveline binding on pavement.

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  3 года назад +2

      I totally agree.. The Sequoia’s 4 wheel drive system is amazing.. The whole Sequoia feels incredibly more refined despite being the same year and sharing the same engine/trans combo.. there like 2 completely different vehicles.. 👍🏼

    Today I purchased a 2012 Blizzard Pearl Platinum Sequoia 4x4 with 123,100 miles! I pick it up Tuesday. It is essentially the same as yours. Crazy huh? I also have a 2003 1st gen Sequoia SR5 4x4. It , unfortunately, has frame rust in the back but otherwise in great shape with 214,000 miles. Thank you for the great video. I noticed that they were addressing tire pressure issues in the car fax so I’m hoping they’ve got it straightened out. Keep us informed on the fix. I know your wife won’t sleep until that light goes out for keeps! Lol.

Awesome! that’s crazy you now have a first gen and a 2nd gen.. what a great combo. i’m super sad to admit that i still haven’t addressed the TPMS light yet, i keep thinkin i’ll just take care of it when we get new wheels and tires at some point. but you bringing it up has motivated me to take care of it sooner rather than later.. i’ll definitely let you know how it goes.. 👍🏼

    Personally, mileage doesn't mean that much to me. I bought my Tacoma with 178k with the 5VZ, with no issues after 30k miles. As long as the vehicle has only had one owner who performed preventative maintenance at the right intervals, then I would have no problem buying a high mileage Yota.

    Tundra would be my choice. Two years ago I bought my friend's 2006 Tundra with 250K miles on it. I was a little anxious about that, but after some preventive work...timing belt, struts/shocks, radiator and a few other smaller things...I have driven it to Texas & back twice. It runs great and I prefer driving it over my much better Nissan Sentra. Only complaint is mpg. On the road I got slightly over 18 once, but usually 17+/gal. Love Toyota Tundras!

    I love all your videos! Please don't stop making them. I just brought at 2021 Tundra Crewmax TRD Off Road in Barcelona Red at the end of the years sales event last December and I'm absolutely in love with it! Nice V8 sound. Smooth and super comfortable on the road. Great looks on it and it doesn't struggle for power on acceleration on both highway and road.
    I traded in my 2016 4runner SR5. Loved the SUV but the v6 is severely underpowered IMO and really struggled for power when I was hauling stuff for traveling. Other than that, both the v8 and v6 are great engines by Toyota and are truly reliable and low maintenance. I was about to go for the 2021 ram rebel, but reliability was a major factor with my decision.

    Hi, me again. I hate to do this but the Platinum is not the only one to come with Captain Chairs. My Limited has them... Platinum VS Limited main difference is wood grain, bigger wheels, BMS System. Adaptive lane. Limited trim has the same DVD rear entertainment same Navigation Same captain Chairs if the original owner upgraded when new. Same AHC if requester by original owner Same heated seats, power folding mirrors etc etc.
    Love the Vids keep them coming just want to make sure all the Subs that may purchase a Sequoia based off your videos are aware of all the options on different trims.

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  3 года назад

      I appreciate All Toyota Knowledge!!
      So the Limited offers rear captains chairs as an option, BUT does not have the center console between them.. am i right?
      Also The Platinum has perforated heated and Cooled seats, reverse tilt side mirrors with puddle lights.. and rear air suspension.. where as the limited does not!! i’m pretty sure 🤷‍♂️

    • @zoeyharvey3475
      @zoeyharvey3475 3 года назад

      @@toyotafanatics1 The captain chairs also come with the same center storage box. Your wifes rear captain seats are the exact same as in my Limited. You are correct on the rest. Limited edition's do have heated Seats but not cooled. Only reason i went with limited over Platinum was to avoid the AHC just so when upgrading to Bilstein's it would be less of a headache.
      1st Gen Sequoia Limited's do have an option for AHC as no Platinum edition existed for them. Now with Platinum on 2nd Gens they reserved it for those and did not offer it as an option for Limited's, It makes sense overall to have a Platinum Trim Level but some of the new Trim levels make no sense and should just be options to equip.
      Also when you lay the 2nd and 3rd seats flat you have around 7ft of length, me and my husband sleep in the back when camping because it is like a queen bed, "Almost" lol. side to side is 50 inches wide which is 10 inch short of a queen bed. Doing this saves us on spending 3k for a roof top tent ;) This is one of the biggest advantages with 2nd gen sequoias.
      Just have to figure out an alternative to Atrac or rear diff lock. Once done these things are truly unstoppable.

    144 thousand is nothing for a 5.7. I wouldn’t sweat it. The TPMS is a pain LoL. It’s a 60 dollar fix once the tire shop scans all 4 tires and finds the bad one. The whole sensor gets replaced for the 60 dollars. One of my sensors on my Tundra went out and I am just living with the light. LoL

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  Год назад

      It’s definitely not a must have, and i’ve heard things like most 4x4 owners usually use it like 2 times(if that) over the entire time they own the vehicle, but my experience is when it comes time to sell the truck! A 4x4 will almost always sell instantly, where as the 2wd’s won’t! i don’t know what the deal is, but it’s super hard to sell a 2wd Tundra.. at least here in California, everyone wants 4x4.. also, if you travel to the snow, they (the chp) will only let 4wd vehicles continue with out chains, it’s super embarrassing watching all the 4x4’s get the waive to continue on, and you’ll have to pull over with all the 2wd’s to chain up. i’ve been there, on both sides and it’s awesome to turn the 4x4 knob and drive off!! 👍🏼

    I just found this video. I have a 2013 Sequoia Platinum in white as well (and someone that works at our high school also has a white one - not sure the year). I bought mine in January 2020 with 86,000 miles for close to $28,000. Given how Toyota’s are known to be reliable, I didn’t hesitate to shell out that kind of money on a Toyota. I was also considering a Ford Expedition or Chevy Suburban. But when I found the Toyota, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. The only reason I may have went for a Suburban instead if I could have found one in similar condition and price would have been the extra cargo space. We are a family of six, and my biggest complaint is I wish there was more room behind the third row. BTW, I found out there is a lovely Magnuson supercharger kit you can get if you have the $7,000 to drop on it (I wish). It increases the HP from 385 to 550!!!

    Another great video! You sparkle and shine!
    You have to think about the fact that the TPMS uses batteries in the sensors. If the battery in one of them is dead you must replace it. I’d replace all five of them and pair them with the car again. Unless you’re thinking about upgrading the tires and rims soon - then you could address the issue by then.
    Don’t go for aftermarket sensors. They suck. The only thing I’ve experienced with Toyota Original sensors are the batteries. After eight to nine years it is allowed for the batteries to fail.
    Be safe and take care! Best regards from Sweden. 🇸🇪

    • @ww2067
      @ww2067 3 года назад +1

      Find an older low mileage 4.7 the 5.7 is nowhere near going to be worth it 4.7 will run a lot longer and a lot better it may not have as much power but it will be enough I promise you that and you will still have Yak power than you know what to do with.... the 4.7 is known as the million-mile motor Toyota screwed up getting rid of that one just like they did getting rid of a lot of other engine platforms they've gotten rid of over the years..... I bought a low mileage 02 the other day one owner little old man had it everything was recorded in done at Toyota everything was kept up only a 112 thousand on it cleanest Chassy I've ever seen that age it was like it just rolled off the showroom floor no exaggeration interior doesn't look like the backseat that ever been set in very few little scrapes on the paint everything works and it will Outlast any of these newer ones with all the electronic junk on them by what you want but if you want Toyota reliability and don't want to have to replace all the nickel-and-dime stuff that will run the Toyota reliability by an older one with low mileage with a 4.7 platform..... these two obviously don't know that much about Toyotas and they're just doing a RUclips channel....... I've had almost every Toyota they've ever made especially the older ones I worked on cars all my life you couldn't put me in one of them new Toyotas they may be more reliable than Chevy Dodge or Ford but they are nowhere near the old Toyota brand..... and you are going to pay a hefty price for a newer Sequoia anyways especially if you buy it from a dealer
