It probably doesn't have to be said but, the cinematography, narration and the presentation is fantastic. I live in South Carolina and appreciate you highlighting the Southeast.
I live in SC as well and Johnny keeps showing up like an hour from my house but I never get an invite 😢… seriously excellent video gents great cinematography and great locations with outstanding personalities. Keep it up
I spent my youth chasing Wisconsin Pheasant and roughed grouse, my young adulthood chasing Iowa Bobwhite quail and Pheasant, and my later years mostly in a blind shooting Ducks and Geese. The US really has a lot to provide hunters.
Welcome to American Southern wing shooting royalty. Plantation quail hunting is an amazing experience. Thanks Jonny for sharing this to the world. I feel Longthorne in planting a flag with their titanium offering. Looking forward to their future. Sash, great camera work as always. Beautiful land, guns, dogs and views.
Hunting quail in the western US, it’s interesting to see the differences even within the country. So much regional variation is available, would love to see your comparison between this and hunting Mountain Quail for example. Then pheasants in the Dakotas and ducks in the Mississippi delta for even bigger contrasts. And why stop at birds, elk in Colorado vs pigs in Texas!
What a fantastic film, the gun looks beautiful, the location, experience and company fantastic.. the cinematography just exceptional, literally world class.... Bravo ..
10 years ago I went to the River Bottom Plantation on a quail hunting trip down in South Georgia, good times and good food with old military buddies - your trip brought back a lot of the good memories. And, like everyone has said, the content y'all put up for this episode was awesome. It's cool watching the English guys experience the American South. George Hi will be thanking y'all for the business you're bound to bring them. Oh yeah, I hope they eventually found your luggage.
Excellent video. Your presentation continues to excel. As a former art and design instructor, I have to say that those Longthorne shotguns are some of the most exquisite pieces of functional art I've ever seen.
This has truly elevated TGS into the ranks of WORLD CLASS in terms of content. People who have never hunted will be in awe of this video. Congratulations TGS !!! Please keep giving us stuff like this ! Oh I gotta ask if a dual citizenship is in the future ????
Glad you were able to make it out and appreciate one of our styles of bird hunting. Welcome! Hope to see a video of you doing some Yankee ruffed grouse/woodcock hunting next.
Wauw! The filming in this clip is over the moon, such a high quality! Almost seems unfair to other YT content makers Would love to see more clips with hunting with you guys 😄👍🏼
Amazing content as always, Gents! Glad you got the chance to come over and give American sporting a shot - looks like you enjoyed it! I highly recommend going for Chuckar as well if you get the chance. Very different style of shooting.
Some of your previous videos I really wanted to go and do, like shooting in the quarry in the Cotswolds, but this is something else - what an experience!
Thank you for this fantastic video.. Growing up in the south I bird hunted long before I ever picked up a Deer rifle! Its in my blood. Now you're showing the world what we do and for you to do it so elegant is such a wonderful experience! Thank you. I. have been a fan but now I'm a super fan!
I'm glad you guys got to experience quail hunting in the South! It's difficult to describe to someone who hasn't done it, and your video does an excellent job of giving a feel for what its like.
Wow. What an incredible experience. Getting to hunt quail with Jim and Reid in a beautiful location while Sasha shoots some amazing footage of it all. Perfect 👌
Fantastic video. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Felt like we were walking right alongside Johnny, Jim and Reid the entire time! I'm really waiting to see Johnny head to the Dakotas and chase truly wild pheasants (not released pheasants) in that environment. Can we all chip in so Ant can come along?
Absolutely brilliant video. Stunning!! As a fairly new hunter, I kind of find it somewhat calming/reassuring, that you, with your vast experience also can get nervous when finding yourself in a new hunting situation. I think that, even though you can always ask your fellow hunters, how things should be done ( or at least you always should be able to), there is always that thing in the back of your head asking if you are making an absolutely ass of yourself or not. There´s a fine line between asking for advice and being the annoying type, asking about absolutely everything all the time. Gaining experience can be a tricky thing. One thing is talking about the do´s and dont´s before a hunt, the other is doing things correctly while on the hunt, heartbeat raising and adrenaline rushing. I guess that as long as you focus on safety, then everything will come with time. Thank you for yet another great production.
Wow never let me down TGS the cinematographer is fantastic once again, and what a location makes me want to fly out from the UK. Those Longthorne shotguns look amazing, the woodwork stocks and the fantastic engraving makes me proud that the UK can still produce such beautiful items
I'm finally glad to see a hunt from you in the US...now it's time for a wild hunt and mixed bags, I can think of a few hunters that would love to take ya on a hunt
I hunted Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock in Minnesota, in the late '70's and early '80's, with a Franchi 28 Guage Automatic that weighed 5 lbs. 2 oz. A Lightweight Gun can really help when one is walking in the woods for most of the day!
you are a very luck man!....between Sash's videography, yours, Reid Bryant's and James's narration. some stunning scenery and some beautiful look guns you could almost feel the sun, the smell of the grass and pine, and the sound of the dogs and the bang of the guns. TGS Outdoors rocks
So Cool to have you so close to home, welcome back! Your in one of the best states of the Union friend! Hope you enjoyed your visit, come on back now ya hear! -Virginia bred, Virginia born C. Carter
Thank you Johnny, what a great event, you brought back some memories for me of my time shooting in the USA, and what about that hospitality! David Cole, New zealand.
What a beautiful video. What an amazing place a true ambassador for presentation and outstanding beauty. What about those Longthorne guns?...Stunning!! No better match for gun and ground ever to be seen they go together like cloud and sky. The cinematography by the ever so talented Sash a credit to the team as a whole. Turn off the light play the vid and you could be there and almost smell the grass. Welldon to everyone involved including the chef, this has suddenly been put on my bucket list and the Jennifer Aniston date has been scrubbed. Good work guys!
TGS Outdoors, As an American...What you experienced, isn't the normal day of shotgun hunting in the USA. I have never had a day like that. I can't think of anyone I know who has had a day like that or a pretty shotgun they take to the woods. Most of the time it is a bunch of guys who get up pre-dawn, pile into a truck, drive out of town to some private property with their scratched up beater shotguns. Maybe some over unders or double barrels, but mostly you will see Remington 870s or Mossberg 500s. Most of the time people are unshowered, unshaven, wearing t-shirts and blue jeans with orange hats, orange vests. If it isn't raining, snowing, it isn't hunting season.
I loved this video. I’ve been hunting quail nearly all my life and it’s second nature to me. I suppose I’ll be just as nervous on my first English driven hunt in a few months. I’ll also be in NC in a few weeks for the Southern SxS. This got my blood pumping. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my last two trips to the UK, to attend the Holt’s auction and to shoot pigeons. But I can’t wait to get home and burn some powder in NC. Well done, Jonny! Now that you’re hooked on quail, you’ll never look back.
Johnny, I’ve been waiting on this video for a long time. So glad y’all have a good time here in America. Looking forward to your next American hunting adventure.
Johnny, every time i watch one of these videos from you i want to go, and Sasha's videography skills are on point everytime! Awesome work lads - so when are you coming to Australia?!
As a Swede who hunted my whole life for our forestbirds, Capercaillie, black Grouse, Grouse and Hazel Grouse, in dense forest, both with and without dogs, i must really agree that hunting Quail indeed looks extremely appealing! This was beautifully captured in the clip 👌
I’m really excited that you finally got to experience some American style bird hunting. You’re spot on with the dog work, dog handling is half (or more) of the sport of upland hunting in the USA.
I only use an alloy receiver 28 gauge O/U for woodcock and grouse in the Minnesota woods now and I love it. Much faster to the shoulder and much more enjoyable to shoot.
Excellent presentation which gave a real feel of the nature of this sport. Terrific cinematography. What a lovely place and clearly with the famous southern hospitality.
A titanium 28ga! The world is a better place because of it! I would love to see you go out west and get into the bird hunting that's available there. The landscape is a little more primitive and rugged, but the scenery is beautiful.
Johnny, you are “living the dream”! I shot quail on a plantation in Georgia years ago, and the experience was unforgettable. Watching the dogs work is a lot of it. I do confess to shooting a 12 gauge at the time, albeit with 3/4 oz. loads. Perry
I absolutely love your perspective! This feels like the most frequent style of hunting for me and it is so different from what you know... now you need to see pheasants grouse on PUBLIC land...
I still love the Old English style of upland hunting, I’m from the state of Georgia. The fields and the seclusion is what makes an experience exclusive preferably pheasant hunting 🇬🇧 👌
While growing up in Oklahoma, the quail gun was the Remington 1100. Every man I knew shot an 1100 back then. I do miss quail hunting with the men of the family back then.
What a fantastic video...I really enjoyed your hunt...Reminded me of my Ohio days...You may want to find someone to take you into Southern Ohio for ruffed grouse...The Longhorne titanium 28 would be the perfect firearm...I used a Darne 28 for years in Ohio for grouse, quail and pheasant.
I’m so glad you got to experience some quail. I live down the road in Charleston South Carolina. So funny I was just thinking about getting a lightweight Quail gun and came across this, nice production, and I have subscribed to your channel.
You need to come to South Dakota pheasant hunting. I’ve done plenty of SE US quail and it’s awesome, but SD pheasant that are WILD birds, is unbelievable Love your stuff, by the way!
Fantastic video! I wish you gave chukar a try out West. California, Idaho, Nevada, … it’s all good. Then you’ll find out what a wild partridge truly is and how many miles of brutal, rocky and steep terrain it takes to down a couple of them! As they say the first time you do it for the sport. From that one on for revenge!!
As an English shooter, I never knew such a similar style of shooting birds existed in America. My interpretation of American hunting is sitting in a hide with your pals, all camouflaged up with 10 gauge semi autos, waiting for geese & ducks to land on your decoys. Love to see it, I hope to have a turn sometime.
So glad you finally where able to enjoy a walk up hunt in the USA . If you come back texas way and want to try some others drop me a line . Great Video thanks !!!!😊 13:02
That looks absolutely incredible What is a beautiful place to shoot or just to walk a round and enjoy the views, as we are talk views that longrhorne was nice 👍 That was a fantastic video as alway for you guys 👏👏
Welcome to The States, gents! Bobwhites in the Carolinas is a fantastic way to start your American journey. Next time, perhaps make your way west to Colorado for Sage Grouse or South Dakota for Pheasant. This is a big country and there is wonderful hunting to be had across all of it. Cheers!
Great watch chaps. My only reservation is the ''Transistor Radios''worn by the dogs. They looked suspiciously like ''shock Stoppers''.The handler was wearing the shock stopper jewelry unless I am mistaken and all were ''GPS Trackers'' although why you would need a tracker on a cocker is unusual.Cocker was definately not steady to shot which does make me wonder.
You should do a public land hunt in the midwest next time. My favorite part about living in North Dakota is the abundance of wing shooting opportunities for a Do it yourselfer!
Great as always gents. Fun to see you guys experience hunts over here. You should do a mid October Pheasant hunt in South Dakota.....you wont forget that either. The Nothern Planes Prairies are intoxicating.
Keep it up
"I wish I was in Dixie, hurray! hurray!"
Welcome to North Carolina. This video makes me appreciate what we have in our back yard.
I spent my youth chasing Wisconsin Pheasant and roughed grouse, my young adulthood chasing Iowa Bobwhite quail and Pheasant, and my later years mostly in a blind shooting Ducks and Geese. The US really has a lot to provide hunters.
Experience always grows perspective... Thanks for sharing the story. As always, the cinematography was absolutely on point.

What an incredible first hunting experience. World class venue.

Beautiful work. You’re in a class of your own, distinctive and compelling. I’m a huge fan, I love seeing your US projects. 5 stars - again!
Some of the best friendships are made while hunting.
I'm glad you guys got to experience quail hunting in the South! It's difficult to describe to someone who hasn't done it, and your video does an excellent job of giving a feel for what its like.
You need to take Simon with you. I think he would be unbelievable with a side by side of his choice.
Like Grouse Shooting?
Welcome back to the Carolinas. We love it and would never leave it.
Wow. What an incredible experience. Getting to hunt quail with Jim and Reid in a beautiful location while Sasha shoots some amazing footage of it all. Perfect 👌

Great estate, and company, we enjoyed every minute!
Yes, if you loved this hunting wild birds in South Dakota is a whole different experience
@@keithhickam2548 Would be fun to see and hear Johnny's take compared to English pheasant shooting.
Watching this has been time well spent.

Well thanks for coming to the USA and enjoy the fine entertainment we all take for granted. Congratulations on your success!!!!

Thank you Johnny, what a great event, you brought back some memories for me of my time shooting in the USA, and what about that hospitality! David Cole, New zealand.
