Everyone told me to get Dead Space instead of this but I went with my gut and bought TCP first and after playing both I can say I enjoyed TCP more. Sure DS has more weapon and combat variation but the whole ambience, graphics and feel of TCP was so much darker and left more of a memorable impression
Well, TCP is pretty much just a modern take on Dead Space. People try to hang on on nostalgia and be saying that "Dead Space did it first, so it has to be the better game right?" Truth is, these games are SIXTEEN YEARS apart. Any comparison, regarding writing, gameplay, graphics etc. is just really unfair to both of these wonderful games. Plus, when Dead Space released in 2008, there wasnt really a good competitor for that niche. It´s way harder to be impressed by a game nowadays with all those other 3rd person horror shooters around.
Love how all of this zombie insanity goes down and your guy is just walking into people's rooms like, "hey, Callisto Credits! I can use these in the vending machine!"

Looks like a crazy interesting merger of the original Half-Life, 'the Flood' of Halo, elements of The Expanse TV show (protomolecule, sacrificing Belters in a science experiment), and Dead Space. A little bit of Bioshock, Thief/System Shock in there too. Crazy how much games have evolved, graphics-wise, in the last 20 years.
Alot if it was that ppl were comparing it to dead space unfavorably. I'm a fan of dead space but also loved this. Ppl also talked about the combat being repetitive. To which I will counter that in most instances in dead space you are just using the plasma cutter in your fights. Big fan of this personally.

I installed and played it and right when I recovered from the water rushing he died at one point and it did this save thing with the cloud and the game never came back, All I got was a black screen, I could hear it but just wouldn't come back on at that save point. I'm just a casual gamer and I can promise you, some, if not all of those new mechanics will be lost on liked minded gamers as it was on me. It just looks like Dead Space in a new-ish skin to me. Granted, my experience so far has been on the Steam Deck but apart from a few new melee actions, it's been par for the course from what I would expect from a Dead Space inspired IP. It reminds me of Back 4 Blood. Very similar to L4D with flashier graphics and so called 'new mechanics' but still failed to inspire the same excitement and glee that the original game did for gamers. The mistake they made releasing the game is that they should have just released the console versions and hold off the PC port until it was bug free. There was no issue on console side. They got all the bad rep from PC port mainly from the Nvidia shills Digital Foundry lot.
The only issue the PC version had at launch was stuttering, and the team rectified that in a week or two with a couple of patches. It was never a buggy game.

A few ppl see a game get streamed and then decide its garbage/game of the year in 1 minute. The other thing that gets me is that 90% of Bethesda games I've played at least since fallout 3 are as buggy as a Louisiana swamp but most seem to give them a pass for it.

The monsters are the same pattern as the monsters in "Mass Effect" shooting them in the head does almost nothing. Removing their limbs is what damages them
graphics will never make or break a game, this game is proof of that i dont even know why it turned out so meh its a shame cos if it was a success they would probably deliver lots of cool horror games
Such a excellent game with a great character I can't believe the people who made this game destroyed it totally with a stupid ending at least they could have kept him alive on the planet and have a part 2 with that Chinese girl comes back to search for him and to get him off that planet
are we not done with stupid A.I in games? you'd think with all the progress in games the A.I would improve rather than not seeing you when the light is clearly reflected off your head and you decide to open a door and break open a panel when he's right fucking next to you.. It's like they're improving everything except for realistic hardcore gaming.
