Good afternoon from sunny 😎 New Zealand 🇳🇿Can’t wait to see how this goes. A allrounder bike and good price. Super interested in how it climbs and fire roads. Thanks for the bike buying advice!
Stoked to see you getting some new bikes to test Paul! I’m not too interested in the Capra as the few YT’s I worked on when I worked in shops always seemed low quality. But I’m very excited to hear your thoughts on the CB Synthesis carbon wheels and the Flight attendant suspension bits. Looking forward to everything else this year has in store from you too!
Oh man, I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't get a back wheel off and on without smashing it around. I wish someone would either work out a way to make it suck less or ship bikes with rubber boots around the rear dropouts so that fixing a flat on the back doesn't mean adding a massive new brake rotor scratch to the frame.
I have 2022 Capra Pro AL. They put too many spacers in my chain guide so bike was so so noisy. Had to go to the shop to because I couldn’t find the problem by myself. It got better but bike was still really noisy so went to shop again and they didn’t put enough grease in frame bearings. Shop fixies it again. After 14days of riding bike got really noisy again. They bearings blew up and needed to be replace. I’m really lucky I pay for a labour in beers n pizzas otherwise I would be a few 100$ out of my money. Yeah my fixing skills are poor and I don’t have proper space and dozens of special tools u need and time to fix my bike but still it’s a brand new bike..
@skullsroad3642 well there obviously was a real problem if the bike was really noisy. And this is not the first time I hear about busted bearings in a newish YT bike
I broke several (well, 3) alluminium frames years ago so switched to carbon. Not broken one since. I wonder if alluminium is too stiff & gets brittle with the slightest flex? Hope this frame works out ok.
Yeah not the best in terms of fatigue. Otherwise you would see coil springs made of aluminium I guess 😄. That said I've cracked multiple cro-mo steel frames too.
Isn't this the one, that's breaking shocks? I think YT made a statement about it too. It might be the previous Capra, in that case, I'm interested to see if they fixed the problem. I hope you'll enjoy your riding on this!
The thought of a beginner buying a DTC bike scares me a bit. Not to say they shoudn't. You're probably better making friends with a local shop and getting properly set up. Sure if you can't deal with LBS antics, I get that.
Canyon provides me with better service an support than my LBS. i will never support 2 of 3 of our LBS. they are just BAD, They dont live and breath bikes... yet they work at a bike shop. -ve had to educate them on other peoples bikes. DTC is the future.
Why do you call Young Talent "YT"? What are the pros vs cons of having internal cable routing? Why a carbon bikes so much cheaper to manufacture then Aluminum?

Pretty sick man. I had the first generation Capra and loved it.welcome to Good Times
Looking forward to watching more videos about this bike. I’ll cross my fingers you don’t crack the frame!
Ill always argue the best way to assemble wheels into the frame is upside down.
Hi Paul, love your content. Can I ask how tall you are?
Can't wait for the next episode 🙌
Finally!
They probably made money with this for 5.8k so just think about the margin they had when it was 9k.

@Skulls Road the shop is next to restaurant where I work and they do the work for beers and pizza in their free time. They’re my buddies..

I've cracked 3 chainstays on aluminium frames in 18 months.
YT send me a carbon frame as a replacement and it's still going strong.
Would have never thought that you would buy a YT. Looking forward to see what you do. I don't hear good things about the Capra tbh.

The MK1 and MK2 capras had no issues with that, the new one has a yoke like most of the bikes that snap coil shocks.
No, that was a special version of the MK2 (the previous version to this one) and it was caused by the specific FOX shock and not the frame
bikes snapping 100%
Lovely bike and tools to be fair! Correct name is the Shiyt Crapra 😂
Disappointed this video isnt 3hrs long 😔
