Got this bike 2 months ago. So far so good. Instead of getting the Medium, i took the Large and it's just about right. Im 5"9 so all is good. Changed the cockpit to Deity as my preference and change the shifter and derailleur to GX. Changed the centerlines to HS2, DB8 is a solid one. Base RS suspension and fork does the job, for my riding. YT really should ditch the NX for Deore 12 speed on this build. That NX mech is done on the first rock it finds, the Deore 12speed mech is an absolute tank. Aside from that just drop the damper upgrade in the fork a cush core out back and you got a great park bike that can easily be your daily driver trail bike too.

I've had my Capra core 1 mx since January, and i must say this bike absolutely shreds. I should mention i am right between the L and XL frame sizes and i went for the XL variant.
A lot of the issues with the reach are indeed solved by sizing up. So much so that i would say the larger size has that in-the-bike feel. I use my bike mostly for park riding, meaning my dropper is almost always all the way down and i have no issues climbing (when i need to)
As for what i don't like, the shock is the only weak point of the bike. (Maybe the rims too since they can't handle much abuse) Don't get me wrong, the shock is good, but my main issue with it is adjustability.
The only upgrade i did is replacing my rear rim after a crash with a DT Swiss FR 541, the rest of the bike holds up really well. (Even with two downhill and few enduro races under the belt)
I've also seen people upgrading to coil shocks on their Capras and i'm going to try the same for next season.
YT Capra core 1 is a great bike if you're looking for something cheap to handle everything from local trails to weekend laps at the bikepark.

I also chose XL and I'm 183cm. I have 29 version and with current 1999€ price in Europe it is very hard to find better bike for the money. My XL 29 version was 17.7 kg with pedals, tubeless and Panzer inserts. It's not light but feels quite ok to pedal :D I think if you put tyres with less rolling resistance you could be happier when pedaling flatter and smoother terrains. But obviously this bike is made for going down so these tyres feels quite ok!

Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. @@GeorgeFrideric71 Hey, they're not bad per se, I don't want you to get that impression. But I personally only use the 51t on my shimano cassette twice a ride, and not for too long, so I could live with a 10-46t or even a 42t with a 30t chainring.
The jumps between 11 and 12 is not that much for enduro bikes, and having a shorter cage/more space for the gears means it's less prone to getting smacked out of whack, specially if you run a 12 speed chain.
Ideally I'd run an 11 speed drivetrain with a 12 speed chain, but until my 12 speed cassette wears out, I'mma keep bending my derailleur hanger to counter-balance all the bends that my derailleur has haha. (I also think gearboxes are the future, so... yeah)

If no new geo for 24, I'm moving on. My 2020 Jeffsy is sitting around 65 in low now, and 160mm.
The only Capra I want is the Car.

Seriously they made the whole video about capra being shorter and slacker while choosing wrong size (YT offers XXL and has sizes scaled down) and comparing it against trail bikes ?? Love pinkbike but this reviews are getting even worse then their standard 'long commercials' reviews ..

5000 euro is not a really budget bike,, my budget bike is a bike circa 2017 with fine components and 2000 $ price max.

@@itr0863 I ride the north shore and squamish with this, and rent a DH in Whistler.
Jeffsy is 160 with -1 degree headset, sitting around 64.5 HA.
      Anyone try a 27.5 rear?
