Well, I'm not a native English speaker. So its hard to realize these things. It wasnt meant that way in any case, but I changed it just in case. thanks
The graphics add a very nice touch to it, they help make concepts visually easier to understand. Though showing real life pictures occasionally may be useful for people who haven't seen these things before. One thing I would highly recommend would be to place links to where you found the information to these videos. So much false information is floating around the internet that it would be extremely beneficial to have access to the studies that proves that information. I love learning about things but it's hard to just take someone's word as fact, and i feel a large portion of the scientific community feels this way so it would improve people's opinion of your channel. I like these videos a lot, thank you!
Facts in Motion This channel is amazing so far! I agree with most of the other points that were mentioned - sources would be great, if possible! I also really enjoy videos on these bizarre creatures and adaptions, and as for video ideas, maybe the photosynthesizing sea slug (Elysia chlorotica) would be a good video topic! Now that you’ve done carnivorous plants, maybe a photosynthesizing animal would be cool! Other cool animal: tardigrade (can survive radiation, freezing, space! Also can incorporate random floating dna into its own genome) Edit: it doesn’t photosynthesize on its own, it essentially steals genes from algae - but in some ways that’s even cooler! Or maybe a video about sea slugs in general, they’re very underrated and have so many different varieties and adaptions :)
really some of the best content on this website, keep this up and many more people will know and love facts in motion. I also think a good topic would be the evolution of household animals like dogs and cats would be interesting, after all most people own them, yet don't quite fully know how they became so tameable and so on. i believe dogs descend from wolves in the primal years? pretty interesting stuff imo. much love ❤️
Scott Wright There is an acidic fluid that it secretes once the trap is sealed, that will digest the prey until it is liquified. Kinda like how your mouth secretes saliva.

Shiranuma it really is.I believe it just naturally happens as DNA modifies itself. This really strongly supports the studies of charles darwin.Darwinism, natural selection,etc..
All organisms are "aware" of their environment, as in they have the ability to detect and react to stimuli. That's one of the basic characteristics of all life. You don't have to be conscious like a human with a complex nervous system to be aware of what's going on around you, if that makes any sense... And it probably doesn't, since we still don't have a good definition of what consciousness or sentience or awareness even are.
Yea the idea of "plant consciousness" is actually a matter of great controversy and debate within the field of botany. There's been a fair bit of evidence that they seem to have SOME form consciousness, granted nothing like ours, but many people dismiss it as a preposterous notion in its entirety. Like plants sleep (they have circadian rhythms and will die from sufficient sleep deprivation - just like animals), have kinship behaviours (sibling plants (ie plants whose seeds came from the same mother plant) don't fight for resources the way that stranger plants do, in fact they share them; mother trees send carbon, nutrients, and photosynthesized food to their saplings through underground root networks (and give more to younger or sick saplings)), plants have been shown to have evidence of memory and learning (mimosa is a type of plant that folds its leaves when touched or otherwise disturbed, and they found that if dropped with a machine enough times (so that it's identical each time) it stops folding leaves when dropped with the machine after a while - and will remember that this is a harmless action for MONTHS afterwards; and even for my own houseplants: I have an oxalis which closes up at night. One time I was pollinating it with a qtip but it was at dusk - the flowers were already closing, but still open enough for me. Anyway, after that half of its flowers were open at night! And it did that for MONTHS afterwards. I had to pollinate it everyday at midday for a few months before it stopped doing that!! It blew me away!), Plants communicate with each other using chemical signals in the air but mostly through an underground root and fungal system, plants have been observed to change their to toxicity or flowers if being eaten too much (a type of tree in Africa went from being utterly harmless to being poisonous enough to kill an animal the size of a horse bc it was being fed on too much during a drought - and it even signalled to other nearby plants of the same species to do the same!!, Plus the wild tobacco plant has been observed to change its flowers from a nocturnal bloom that's designed to attract hawk moths, to a totally different looking and smelling diurnal blooming flower if the plant is being eaten by hawk moth caterpillars too much - only to switch back once it has recovered from the caterpillars!! This isn't even across generations, this is all in the same plant(s), just reacting to its environment!!) And finally: synapse like structures have been found at the bases of plants' roots. So they probably don't have a _central_ nervous system, but when you think about it, in an organism that can't move.... A central nervous system would be of great detriment. Spread it out so you can lose parts of yourself (and "brain" if that's what it is) and survive 🤷♂️ Now I wanna make it clear: there's more unknown than is known in this area. But new discoveries are being made all the time, so I personally am keeping an open mind (but also looking at the integrity of the research of course lol) because there have been too many times in history that scientists have said something is certain, only for them to be proven wrong - except the new information had to fight tooth and nail. I don't wanna miss something fascinating because of a stringent preconceived notion that could turn out to be false in the end 🤷♂️

6:43 As a history enthusiast that kinda triggers me a little. On historical catapults he mechanism would definitely never include the cutting of a rope. Not only is replacing the rope every time you shoot laborious and unnecessary, rope was also very expensive and time consuming to make back then. Pointlessly destroying a perfectly good rope would be unheard of back then.
Just one thing, besides the quality being amazing, the insect's exoskeleton is left behind in the trap, since the enzymes aren't strong enough to disolve it as well. Also, the "teeth" spines are to keep prey inside, smaller insects are just lucky because of their size.
There is a difference between "why they evolved" and "how they work today". Ofc the spines also help to keep big insect in. But keep in mind that when the plant is digesting the leaves are so tightly shut that the spines point outwards and arent even interlocking anymore. So it seems they are not necessarily needed to keep the animal in. Instead, they probably evolved for the reason I mentioned in the video.
Facts in Motion Oh I don't mean to attack your video's facts by any means, I think what you have going on this channel is probably most interesting and appriciative way you could tell people about these facts. I only mean, before any digestion takes place, and as stated in the video the sensory hairs have to be triggered a few more times before the plant transverses into Phase 2 of the carnivorous plant feasting-process, which is of course the almost "zip-lock" on the outer rim of the trap and the release of digestive enzymes, the "teeth" do exactly as you said, '...keep big insects in...". During digesring process, they serve no purpose. I cultivated them for a few years before shifting interests to something else, I just though I'd add something. I don't mean any sort of aggresion or disliking, I really have only watched 2 videos of your' and each one has been amazing. I encourage you to *_please_* continue. Have a nice day, Facts in Motion!
Ho boy, that reminds me of something that happened with my little venus. At one point I started frequently spotting a little jumping spider hanging out in my room. I'm pretty chilled with spiders so I let it be, and actually kind of enjoyed my brief encounters with it. Jumping spiders, to me, appear to have awareness and intelligence, as it acknowledged my presence as I acknowledged it's. I find them to be very endearing. One day I noticed my venus flytrap appeared to have caught something, I assumed it was a fly. I was pretty proud, because I don't have all that much insect life in my room and my flytrap doesn't catch things very often. But about a week or two later it opened up again, and guess who's dead, empty little eyes were staring back at me? Suffice it to say, I felt pretty guilty. But it wasn't in vain, as shortly after my flytrap started to grow flowers. I like to think it was in tribute to my little roomie, and the sacrifice it made. Venus flytrap blooms are so pretty and delicate
Dead droid I don't mean to be aggressive in any way, and you immediately think ignorance is my specialty when it comes to Carnivorous Plants. I cultivated them, sure, not on large scale like an entire greenhouse of 15m dedication, but I had a terrarium, holders etc. I studied them for quite some time, and took the courtesy to read an entire guide to growing them, and the correct way to keep them. Carnivorous Plants aren't my main interest anymore, that was back when I was experimenting with hobbies and interests, I've shifted to an entirely different field, nothing to do with plants. I just thought I'd point something out, whether he knew it or not, it was in the video, and I just _pointed it out_, I did 't attack him. I love these videos.
you are incorrect with your categorys there are pitfall, flypaper, and snap traps but there are again two more bladder for the bladderwort for example and corkscrew.
Was watching this and had no idea this channel was so small! You are exactly like the infrographics show or Kurtz whatever. I truly believe you will blow up fast, keep up the good work!
I love your drawing style so much more than that of the ‘Infographics Show’ and ‘Kurzgesagt’! Your animation is richer and more detailed, and you are not to be politically correct, like ’one-size-fits-all’ flat hipsterish animation style. In fact, I see that you are actively fighting those bloody hipster infographics with quality and attention to detail. Please go on. You are doing amazing things, and those two bleak in comparison.
I can agree with this being better than infographics show, but then again, if you do more than making animated slow-moving bobble heads, you're better than infographics show.
Wow this video and channel is amazing! Not only did I learned about the wonders of Venus Flytrap plant, i am also amazed how scientists managed to discover all this!
Think when these thing grow 5m tall 3m wide and go under ground would it be terrifying if these things could eat and started to eat humans like if you agree!
7 лет назад+5
Even if they were 15 meters tall, they are still pretty analogical plants, a edgy machete and you are good to go.
Daddy Stalin, If there 5 meter tall venus flytraps growing in Carolina, people would be carrying machete's around. If there were 15 meter venus flytraps, we'd have nuked the forest already.
TheRed2TailsFox There's more evidence that he existed than any animals evolved. Just the most popular evolutionists just keep coming up with different, many times completely invalid reasons for why he isn't real. In fact a lot actually believe there is a divine BEING (uno, one, mono) which The Bible is the only major religion with that basis that actually have thousands of historical and scientific data that supports it.
So comments from another video of yours that popped up in my recommendations on the overall quality prompted me to watch some more of your stuff & all I can say is wow! I know a lot about carnivorous plants, but even I learnt more & the info is absolutely spot on - well sarracenias don't actually have water in them, just hairs facing the wrong way for the insects to get out, nepenthes are the only pitcher plants that have water & we're learning they're not as simple as we used to think, with surfaces that get slippery only when wet to encourage ants to return home & tell the whole colony about the food source & come back to be dinner & some are sonar tuned to attract bats into their "bat sleeping bags" that are provided in return for droppings food & they test branches for strenght before wrapping around them & a range of other "smart" behaviours, but yeh, I'm just showing off my knowledge on them now & as I said, I still learnt from your video & am impressed with your detail & accuracy, so why do you not have FAR more subscribers? You've got a new one with me now anyway, great channel!
Thanks. I actually have a decent amount of subs for the amount of videos that I've made. Its just that I'm working alone so I can only make 1-2 dozen videos a year. Which isnt enough to grow fast.
@@Facts.inMotion ah, so that's the secret/why the low subs. I couldn't figure it out. Your videos that I've watched so far are seriously good!
Really enjoy your videos, the music is especially awesome and unique
you are incorrect with your categorys there are pitfall, flypaper, and snap traps but there are again two more bladder for the bladderwort for example and corkscrew.
Was watching this and had no idea this channel was so small! You are exactly like the infrographics show or Kurtz whatever. I truly believe you will blow up fast, keep up the good work!
Vegan plants be like: you know that fly is suffering how can you do that.
Hol' up... Vegan plants?
I don't understand how you only have 6k subs, great video.great quality keep it up :D
Just subbed ps. Do you think you could do a video on how seals became how they are and what they evolved from
Will put it on the list. But there are a few evolution-videos coming b4 it. So don't know when I will get to it. But I will do it at some point.
Facts in Motion hell yeah
This channel is blowing up i can say been here since 800 subs :)
That's not a catapult. That's a trebuchet, which is clearly the superior siege engine.
This channel is definitely gonna grow big in 2 years
There is more stronger than venus flytrap????

This channel is gonna grow so fast
Nett animiert!
Amazing video! Please keep doing them. Thank you.
I like DEATH
the redstone minecart 12345 your name
People really like your videos a d you are getting subscribers fast well done my friend
Think when these thing grow
5m tall 3m wide and go under ground would it be terrifying if
these things could eat and started to eat humans like if you agree!
Even if they were 15 meters tall, they are still pretty analogical plants, a edgy machete and you are good to go.
Đivector Kyané only problem, not many people carry a machete around.............
Daddy Stalin, If there 5 meter tall venus flytraps growing in Carolina, people would be carrying machete's around. If there were 15 meter venus flytraps, we'd have nuked the forest already.
Just cut them down 👌🏻
Great channel, I can see it doing well! Can't wait to share it with my 10 yo son. Definitely subbed :)
Are Venus flytraps gay tho?
redloiyu654jay Do you know know it's a joke?
Thomas Bowes nah demisexual bro
W.O.R. I agree actually
They hella gay... like u mom
no, like u
I like the way you never show a real photo, I get scared by these types of things, So thank you for staying animated!
0:56 Cause God made them that way
Layback Studios yep
simple, I like it.
If he existed
TheRed2TailsFox There's more evidence that he existed than any animals evolved. Just the most popular evolutionists just keep coming up with different, many times completely invalid reasons for why he isn't real. In fact a lot actually believe there is a divine BEING (uno, one, mono) which The Bible is the only major religion with that basis that actually have thousands of historical and scientific data that supports it.
TheRed2TailsFox So I guess you can still say. "If".....
I am originally from North Carolina so I find this video really cool, also I really love this channel.
This channel will be great!love your vids
Man these are great videos! U deserve much much more subs!
Thanks!
Man, you're good at what you do? Are you a scientist? The presentation is impressive and the same goes for the visuals. Keep it up!
Just commenting to know I was here before you became famous, because your quality is extraordinary
Thanks! That was awesome and great visuals!
Hey your gonna go viral just saying calling it right now. Its damn obvious people will love you.
Thanks ;)
Took a while for RUclips to recommend a good channel
This thing is amazing. It’s really helpful I’m crying idk how to thank😭
Congrats for 1k subscribers!
thanks
I hope you keep it up that way & keep doing them at low volume so you can do such high level research & create such a high quality product. Much better than mass production with low quality imo :)
I was just looking, "Primitive technology" has 9 million subscribers with a similar uploading schedule, but they have 4 years of videos, so I guess exponential growth is probably going to be coming your way too :). Anyway, glad I found your channel, it's great :)
; ) Already working hard on my next video
this channel is really great!
This channel is gonna be big one day. 😊
the intro music so calm and relaxed and the rest so dramatic and anxious, I get some topics do well with this but not all of them.
This is so interesting! This blows my mind! Great video!
Only 10k subs? The quality of your videos is astonishing! Keep up the good work !
37k now :0
SLOWLY GROWING!
I honestly don’t know why you don’t have 1m subscribers yet.
Nearly there to 299k this channel should be in education RUclips teachers should use this
Great production!
Lucky Greetings Lobo Loco
I really want to thank you because I had not known a lot about Venus fly traps and now I do so I just want to thank you for this video! =)
That's why I make these videos, so you're welcome! ; )
