Long overdue. One of the greatest bands ever. Fifty years on and their music is still as popular as ever. This is how music used to be. Congratulations, guys! And thanks.
I have seen these guys 6x. 1st time 1974 - last time. Oct 2019. Congrats to Tom, Pat, John, Tiran, Keith and Michael. The Doobies from the early 70s.

Millions of rock fans world wide agree with you. And thanks to all of the Doobie Brothers past and present who represented the background of much of my life as a fan and a bassist.
I try not to overuse this word but this was awesome, especially Pat's words.
Tom Johnston is one of the most soulful singers ever.
Amen to that! Tom's the first blue eyed soul singer l ever heard and l was hooked.
So underrated. Pretty damn good guitar player too! But what a voice!!

Did anybody else notice the cool motorcycle parked behind Pat Simmons as he spoke? I am glad he gave a shout out to all the other great Doobies over the years and with the motorcycle-- gently honored the bikers and motorcycle dudes and gals who were the very first Doobie Brothers fans. Very nice.

What decent, intelligent and talented guys. I remember listening to them in the early ‘70s and being blown away. Thanks for the music.
That feeling of you belng blown away must have been something else and I wasn't even figment of reality at that time being in my mid 30s and still blown away by them lol

Long long long overdue. I dont have the greatest respect for the HOF but Im thrilled that they finally made it after watching so many others get in were less deserving.
Nothing against Cheap Trick really but for them to get in YEARS before the Doobies is a crime.

Me too, my first Doobies Album ... then on my honeymoon we stayed in New Orleans in a hotel on Toulouse st.
I grew up listening to the Doobies in the 1970s. Just love Tiran Porter on bass...so much passion. One of the best of the best
The Doobie Brothers have always been great. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on the other hand is nothing but a bunch of plastic board members. Alex Lifeson said it best when Rush was inducted into the plastic society. Bla Bla Bla, Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla. Priceless Alex and right on point.
Usually every group of hall of fame inductees has a headliner among them; The Doobie Brothers are the headliner for this year's group of inductees.
I like how thoughtful these speeches were. I also like how the songs transitioned into songs they’ve wrote. And I like the slide show of all the amazing and talented players from over the years. Love you guys.
Congrats to the Doobie Brothers for their Hall of Fame induction and I am really surprised that it has taken this long for them to be honored because they truly deserve it!

Congrats, well deserved. Saw you at Va Tech with Loggins & Messina early 70s. Since then, had pleasure of rocking with you guys 28 times. See you in Charlotte in 2021 for # 29 if I'm still breathing. Just something about you guys and those songs keeps me coming back. Stay safe, keep rocking.
I took a young lady named Gail to a Doobie Brothers concert on October 18, 1975 in Roanoke, Virginia. It was a blind date. We got married 9 months later and are still married to this day. The Doobie Brothers will always hold a special place in our hearts. And they're still rockin'!
You know that you're looking at a class act, where two very talented & soulful singers of different band-phases can be together on one stage and be generous & nice towards eachother; when speeches are eloquent & modest, in which crewmembers are being mentioned and appreciated by name. And when they are still going strong after 50!!! years...Congratulations, you guys are true Brothers!

I've just been enjoying the two greatest albums of my 63 years: the Captain and Me and What Were Once Vices. I had the privilege of seeing you guys live in my home town of New Plymouth, New Zealand a few years ago. The best guitar band ever. Thank you Doobies for one of the soundtracks of my life.
Well, its' about time! Well deserved!! Tom has always been my favorite musician and I've been playing guitar for almost 50 years. Tom and Pat changed the world for the better!
For many years, I thought it was a disgrace that Neil Diamond, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, and Grand Funk Railroad weren't inducted into the hall of fame. The first three have finally made it in over the last few years. Hopefully, Grand Funk will soon also get that honor which they deserve.

These guys are before my time, but my parents listened to them when I was growing up and I have kinda rediscovered them of sorts... great band that combined a lot of genres into one band style in the 70's, great stuff and very influential.

They chose great musicians to start and continue with.
There's a friendship between them all which is like a brotherhood, and it's great that Michael is back with them.

An award long overdue, a long train running indeed ! Such great musicians, and modest ones as well. I enjoyed the original line-up in the early 70s and the transition with the arrival of Michael McDonald, and later recruit John McFee. I was pleased to hear Pat Simmons pay tribute to all those former band members, sadly some of which are no longer with us. Long live the Doobie Brothers !

Congrats. The Doobies Brothers are timeless. A mix of Soul Americana and rock and roll. One if the best American bands ever. They represent the U.S. well. Coming from Detroit with a love of southern rock. I could listen to them all day.
When I first heard them in 1971 I was instantly hooked and they became my favorite band. I have faithfully followed them for almost 50 years now! The Doobie brothers have always been one of my very favorite bands since I was a kid in Jr High. I couldn't be any happier that this INCREDIBLE band has FINALLY been inducted into the Rock & roll hall of fame...it should have happened YEARS ago.

The Doobies are an iconic group and no one can deny their success and talent. Think about it, Black Water, Listen To The Music, Jesus Is Just (More Than) Alright, and let's not forget what a terrific musical statement Takin' It To The Streets is taken in it's entirety. But......the most damn under rated and fantastic bassist in all of rock and roll is my buddy Tiran Porter. Lyrical, funky and soulful, the world has never met a more sincere and genuine person. Congrats to the Brothers for their induction and really, it's about time for the love of Jesus. Who's Just Alright. And who can forget that Dark Eyed Cajun Woman or that super hip South City Midnight Lady. Or that Park on that Sunday. Those. Were. The. Days.

My dearest Tom Johnston words made me feel so blessed,,, I remember the first time I heard his voice in person. NOT singing, when he asked me where I come from ... I felt shy to talk to him because of my heavy mixed euro/Latin accent... then somebody next to us said:
