I'm glad to see Birth by Sleep getting genuine love. It's one of my favorite KH titles, and I have very fond memories playing with it on the PSP. The combat felt fitting on the system and the story is one of the best in the franchise.
@@FiresideGamingReviews Me too! And I definitely agree. I feel like the game got more undeserved hate in the mid 2010's when more people kept comparing it with KH2FM and only saw BBS's flaws.
Oh yeah, the Gundam Battle games from the PSP, that’s the good stuffs. It’s part of a series of 4 games, this one here is the third one. The 4th and last one is called Gundam Battle Universe, and features a lot more MS, up to Char’s Counterattack, and side UC stuffs as well like Gundam Sentinel, F91 and Hathaway’s Flash (the novel version from 1989). I played these PSP Gundam games recently when iOS finally got official access to emulators earlier this year, and it’s great fun.
Some of mine: • Battlefront 2 port • MGS Portable Ops • Gran Turismo • Both God of War games • Star Wars The Force Unleashed • Wipeout: Pulse • Medal of Honor: Heroes • Coded Arms 1
@@FiresideGamingReviews The first Coded Arms is cool in that I’m pretty sure it’s the only game on the system with procedurally generated levels. It’s basically a dungeon crawler FPS.
I was an avid hot shots golf player on the PSP. One of the best parts of the game was the character customization you could do, it was like i got to make my own anime protagonist
I grew up with the DS and 3DS, so sadly, I didn’t get the chance to try out PSP games until emulation helped. And while I do have fond memories with my DS, I do see what I've missed out on. Phantasy Star, Birth By Sleep, FF tactics, Persona 3 Portable, Ace Combat, even the Japanese exclusive stuff like Valkyria Chronicles 2 & 3 and Kurohyou 1 & 2 looked like a ton of fun. There's a reason why I'm still looking for a vita to this day.
This is something the wife and I have talked about as she grew up with the DS instead of the PSP. And while I've played a few DS games now it's still a console I need to give more attention to.
Yugioh Tag Force games might have been the only reason I’d get a PSP Never really got around to it though. Only game I ever saw on it being played was this zombie Santa game
I've got no idea about a zombie Santa game but I can vouch for Tag Force 5. I spent a good bit of time with it but it was post-college so I didn't include it in the video. Its one of the PSP games I sold back then and I'm still on the lookout for a new copy.
Anyway, list of games: Ridge Racer - great game! Sadly, this was one of the first RRs to start the trend of the first half of the races being too easy to win to pad out the length. Once it gets faster and harder..... it plays excellently. Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts - recently picked this up myself. Whenever I feel the need to punish myself... Dark Stalkers - Loved the 3rd title on PSX. Avoided this for so many years as many said that the controls sucked on the PSP, but when I did pick it up, turns out I had little problem. Kingdom Hearts - the only one in the series I've every played. Didn't understand anything and didn't like the controls. Only bought it about 2 or 3 years ago, so this wasn't likely to have interested me. But for 200yen, thought I'd give it a go. Final Fantasy Tactics - Classic. I still play this every other month to this day. It should be mandatory for every RPG fan to play this game. Valkyrie Profile - despite owning it... 3 times, I've never played it. Just too daunting considering what I know about it. Just not the time to dedicate to this. Gundam - no idea about this one. Monster Hunter - didn't gel with me. Completely because I tried it sole. And I don't really like Hunter games. Final Fantasy - Never played. Crisis Core - I have owned this for years but have never played. Maybe it's because I've always disliked how FF7 was milked after being taken over by Enix. I'll take your word that it's the best game out there, but I doubt I'll ever play through this. As for my games that I played on it back in the day - All the Tenchu titles (3 in total, I think). I love this series, though admittedly have played it too much now Disgaea - a must play if you like TRPGs Everybody's Tennis / Hot Shots Tennis - my personal favourite game on the console. Would like to play someone multiplayer with this. I highly recommend you check this one out if you ever find it. The golf games are great too, but I recommend you get Everybody's Golf / Hot Shots Tennis on the Vita instead. Wipeout Pure - my second favourite Wipeout, after the original on the Saturn. The soundtrack is sublime, the courses are excellently designed, it's super fast, and controls like a dream. I love Ridge Racer, but this one crowns as the best racer, at least on launch Sega Rally Revo - This one grew on me. Fantastic little game that was never likely to be a big success, yet the devs put a lot of effort into this. Not just a straight port of the main 360 title. They reworked this with new tracks, and different yet very satisfying controls. By the way, I love your segways between games. Well written! Also, been commenting on your videos for months, but just realised I never subscribed! Just fixed that.
Thanks for subbing! And I appreciate the segway compliment too! I've not played Tenchu outside the multiplayer on PS2, but picked up the PS1 games recently. I've played through a few of the Disgaea games (1,2,D2) and enjoyed each of them. I want to cover them on the channel eventually. No idea about tennis or golf games. I've only ever played the PS1 Wipeout but it's a series I'm interested in seeing more of. Also have no experience with Sega Rally games.
Try play Final Fantasy Type-0 if you can Its just not the most underated PSP game of all time its also the Biggest one on the System its self ....and yes that game was JP exclusive only but you can play it on PC by playing the remastered version or try the original with english fan-translation patch
I've considered it before but I always get hung up on it being part of the FFXIII universe. I played through FFXIII once and wasn't a fan. And from what I understand it's best to play XIII-2 before Type-0.
@@FiresideGamingReviews You really don't need to...becuase Type-0 its own thing and the only connection its had to FFXIII world is just some names and Etra her self .....so give it a chance when you want to
@@FiresideGamingReviews Haha, no worries. Honestly though, whilst gems are perhaps harder to find, the Vita is a magnificent system with some amazing games on it. None-the-least you can play PSP games with crisper graphics and the ability to use the second analog stick for controlling the camera smoothly on certain games. But, yeah, I still have a PSP too. I still buy PSP games to this day as there are a crazy number of hidden gems, especially here in Japan.

Glad to see another BBS fan. It really does get overlooked compared to KH1&2, imo.

I remember that too! I get the three playthroughs bothered some people but I found it fun. And it's take on the deck system is great.

Always nice to see another fan of these games. Haven't played Universe but would like to some day. I only had Chronicle as I found it at a con in 08.

Huh. That's an interesting way to mix up the FPS genre. I'll have to check it out.

I plan to pick up some Vita games soon but I'm actually using the PSTV as an easy way to capture PSP footage. So far it's working well.
