I just left Schneider last week to come to US Xpress and on the15th of this month (November) I have to go through a 3 day orientation and then I'm back on the road but yes, I'm definitely excited about joining the US Xpress team because I've heard allot of good things about the company and Luke in the recruiting department was a very good recruiter and anyone who goes through him will definitely be given all the information you will ever need, he was an awesome recruiter. I've been off the road for a week now and I'm ready to get back out there and get my million miles with US!

Hello, with US Express do the students have to do a test out when he/she is finished with training ? Do the student have to name all the parts of the truck an air brakes to graduate?
No students don’t test out you just have to get 170hrs driving with a trainer after you get those hours you go back and then you do your backing and road test which is very quick I say 30-45 minutes tops
And as a student you will have to take a e-log test but it’s simple also

I got orientation monday coming up out of jacksonville, 2 hours away from me ill be able to drive to the terminal, What type of stuff did you take? Like did you took a crossshoulder bag, you took clothing for 4 weeks, the bedding etc

Yes that’s only for experienced drivers if you are a student you don’t have to do it
Dont allow your recruiter to lie to you, you only get paid if you get hired on, if you have anything on your record they wont hire you and send you home, i have a clean record other then getting my truck stuck in the mud, and i went to their orientation last week, completed all there tests and videos and did everything i was required to do, literally the last minute on Wednesday wa s told that i was not able to get hired due to one non dot incident, that happened over 2 years ago, was not even discharge ffom my last trucking company because of it, backing and road test was nothing, i was not even given a pre trip post trip test to see if i knew how to do it which i do, but was shocked really, how little it was, if you have any experience at all, its easy. they give you a ridiculous amount of room in the lot to back, personally though after what the recruiter did to me, she sent me a copy of psp report before i left to go, so she knew, i drove my personal vehicle out and dident even get the money i spent for gas back. Thats messed up, but then again this company is owned by swift now so there is not much to say. honestly.
Definitely understand that nothing wrong was said and the pay is definitely not what they promise at orientation but for me it’s really just to get my feet wet and get some experience and be able to share my journey and allow people to see the truth of some of these companies so thank you for that 🙏🏼🗣️
Did you already have a CDL when you went to the orientation?
@mellymel216 I did and experience as well, my advice is make sure you take care of yourself I this industry because at the end of the day nobody else is going to care about you, not being rude just honest, the test to be a solo driver is not hard at all, the backing is backing into a space next to 2 trailers all you have to do is set up for it properly and you get unlimited pull ups so it shouldent take you that long to do it.

Never leave home with out it. Hair test if u smoke there going to know all that time 100 dollars a day for 3 days

How long did it take for you to get your trainer? Also i may have missed it but you live in where they had your Orientation or They flew you out (again i may have missed it if you already said it). I have orientation on January 3rd. There is not much on RUclips about this company, so thanks
I got a trainer the following week and no you gotta drive but they reimburse you for gas.. half when when leave then the other half on your first check

I wonder if it’s me or people get but hurt when you say something they don’t like and then like to block people cause a little disagreement like come on grow up you said 2 years then going to say 3years either way you should have told them point blank I got almost 8 years driving and I’m good at it don’t get mad or upset just cause you and a person don’t agree you do know that it’s okay to have another opinion of your own right? I have a criminal history and they said they ran my background the recruiter said it was koo a set me up for orientation. What do you think they will still send me home
Na they don’t really be caring about criminal history as long as your driving record is straight then you are good
