Yeah, wasn't this one of the best 30 or so minutes of television ever? Great characterisation and one of the most satisfying of ironies ever put together. And well done on the concept and execution. Much enjoyed
I found this while looking for a Rush song, However I am a Floyd Head from way back and this just happens to be my favorite song. I have loved it for over 30 years now. It never gets old. It has in my mind the best solo in rock and roll.
That episode has been in my mind since about 1962...even as an 11-year old I "got" the irony of the ending, even though I suppose he might have been able to find an optician's shop with some undamaged glasses! Well done.
AWESOME!! Pink Floyd rocks!! Plus, I am a huge Twilight Zone fan. "Time Enough At Last" is the best Twilight Zone ep. ever made. Rod Serling was truly a genius! The special effects may look "cheesy" by today's standards, but the psychological theories and ideas are profound. It really makes you consider alterate possibilities and scenarios. There have been several reincanations of the show, but the magic of the original series will never be duplicated.
I don't usually like alterations to masterpieces. But for what the aim was for this video, this is great. Nicely done work at editing of one of my top 5 Twilight Zone Episodes. I have to imagine this was one of Pink Floyd's inspirations for this song the way it's coordinated with this episode.
I love this episode-- It's a classic! I almost cried at the end when Mr. Bemis' glasses broke..He had all the time in the world, but he couldn't read since his glasses broke..
OH....And the timing of the words "Home, home again" right when he sees the Public Library sign is brilliant. I don't know if you intended for the timing to be so perfect, but it sure turned out that way.
Take the time everyday to reflect on the things you did during the day. We are too busy with our jobs, our assignments, our projects. we give our time to everybody except to ourselves. Take the time at the end of the day to get in synch with yourself, to listen to yourself, to listen to your heart, to listen to what exactly does your body and mind need from you. Time can be our enemy or our FRIEND.
bernice - are you kidding? Please say you're kidding. Anyway, great job man - and I consider myself a very tough critic - especially when I am a passionate fan of both pieces of art. Well done, bravo.
Burgess merideth (the old guy wit glasses) Syd barret (the cofounder of pink floyd who passed away) and Richard Wright (another member of floyd that recently passed away) all greats in their profession individualy and brought together by this vid, to them RIP and to thewalingman and remaining members of floyd I salute you
I saw it in a chapter of the Simpsons, I don't remember the name of this, but... well, maybe someone know it. great video!! there's no a synchronization, but the intro was awesome! 5 stars!
A friend of mine wrote the short story on which Serling based this episode. Funny thing is Bemis sounds just like her when he talks. She teaches adult ed writing now, or last I heard anyway. And yes we are both that old. :-). To respond to an earlier post residuals for these episodes ran out after 25 years I believe she said. Some studios didnt pay up anyway. But she did well after that writing for film.
There was a delicious time last year when most of the TZ episodes were posted on RUclips. I got to see most of them. Unfortunately they all had to be yanked for copyright violations. I think in the case of music, it's a mistake to ban songs from RUclips. I know I saw song on here, and it made me curious about the band, and I ended up buying a couple of CDs and a book. I think it would be wise for CBS or whoever sells TZ episodes to allow several of them to be shown on here.
Once I tought that I finally have made it only to realize that my dreams were meant to be crushed again... Take satisfaction in the journey and give up the notion that happiness is a goal to be reached. No my friend, happiness is not a goal but a journey. What is time but a notion that we human beings in our limited capacity for understanding the misteries of the Universe need to cope with life. Without the notion of time, we would become ill.
That would've been sweet. Then, he could get a 2nd pair of glasses at Lens Crafters and ask the people there to match his prescription so that.....Oops, maybe that wouldn't work. Especially with his sight requirements finding a matching pair in that rubble. Cool video though.
Theres a couple of Twilight Zone episodes that freaked me out, can anyone help me identify them? One is about this boy who finds a deep whole in the earth, and they end up sending a man down into it and he goes insane. The other is about aliens.
well he does go a little insane before because he was lonely and what not. But seriously, if you had all hte time in the world to do what you loved most, then it was just smashed infront of you. I'm pretty sure you would cry too. I know i would! haha but that really sucks for him.

this was a great episode
I agree with Calaveranzo. that was a great sync between a great episode and a great Floyd tune
bernice - are you kidding? Please say you're kidding. Anyway, great job man - and I consider myself a very tough critic - especially when I am a passionate fan of both pieces of art. Well done, bravo.

Definetly, great job.
ha! Classic response... *thumbs up*
Great job, man!
Nice adaptation. Rod Serling, in my opinion, was as much of a genius as Einstein. One of the most creative minds of any period in history.
I saw it in a chapter of the Simpsons, I don't remember the name of this, but... well, maybe someone know it.
great video!! there's no a synchronization, but the intro was awesome!
5 stars!

perfect with triple c's :D
Well Done
GREAT JOB! I could never do that!
It'd be pretty cool to have that on a big projection screen while they played live.
Excellent work. You should've spliced some of the scene from Rocky 3 when Mick dies.
I remember that episode. MERDSTONE!
love the zone
very nice
i love this 5 stars
Yeah, I noticed that too.
Good vid.
It was a torture of which the creators of greek mythology would have been proud.
This is good stuff. How long did it take to put together?
No, thats not fair, there was time....That's not fair, THATS NOT FAIR!....
I didn't know he was a banker before he became a boxing trainer to Rocky.
i like this episode...poor old guy...= /
god damn that episode was depressing.
great sync
I would suggest to put some of the actual narrative in subtitles to give it a stronger connection between the song and the episode.
That would've been sweet. Then, he could get a 2nd pair of glasses at Lens Crafters and ask the people there to match his prescription so that.....Oops, maybe that wouldn't work. Especially with his sight requirements finding a matching pair in that rubble. Cool video though.
You did an awsome job, love pink floyd, and this is a cool sow, his wife is a jerk if you watch the episode.

I know i would! haha
