i’m in love with the tone that james markey produces, it’s so vibrant and rich and this recording shows a great exhibition of that. thank you for publishing this, kudos for publishing this recording! ☺️
did anyone else notice(if you have the sheet music to this) that they changed parts with each other near the end and then for like the 3 measures they switched back again
Amazing! I love especially how you guys managed to achieve the tone and lightness that was in the original recording that many other versions lack. I love the original, and I'll be following to hear future versions of this piece. On a side note, I just performed this for our yearly solo/ensemble contest, and want to get it perfect to perform it again at the end of June. Do you have any tips or words of wisdom I could use?
you definitely want a bass trombone on the lower part. not only for the low Cs and Bs, but for the valve facility and timbre. it is possible to play the top part on an F attachment tenor, though you might have to rewrite some of the descending scales that get passed off from one part to the other.
You can play the top part with an f trigger, for the bottom one there is a few low b naturals but most can be played if you're range is good enough for a pedal f
Thats a really unique tone on that bass trombone
Sounds like a double bass!
0:00-4:10 best part
Agreed
true
It gets better at 4:11
incredible how they can make it sound like there are so many more players than just two

1:58 Markey's sound is just out of this world!
2:20 it's even better!
I have heard that kind of sound from an english BassTrombonist : Adrian Hirst, ( BlackDykeBrassBand ). Yes , out of this world.
The tone that James Markey produces at 2:20 is absolutely immaculate. Probably the best I've ever heard a trombone sound.
You ever listened to Charlie play?
4 minutes and 10 seconds of perfection!!!!
James Markey the GOAT. And Martin is also good.

Jason Sato there are two different versions for this. The arrangement they played was the original i believe. Happy playing!
I noticed that too because Markey started playing the higher part and I was like “I don’t remember this.”
That SCALE at 1:50ish gets me every time
For real!
Really amazing... most perfect version for two basses to date.
Masters of the instrument! Great interpretation and execution of this!
2:35 after this, is it all perfect !

Hide your kids, hide your wife, here comes James Markey
It's as easy as that! Or that's how it sounds! I happen to understand the virtuosity involved that only adds to my enjoyment.
Beatiful sound, bravo!!!! Fantastic 🎉🎉🎉
Fascinante!!! Excelente interpretación.
Amazing playing!!!! Thank you for posting!

Super, brillante, perfect, inspirational. Even my girlfriend like it , says: Play it again !
awesome
fuck yeah
Flawless performance by 2 virtuosos! Is there a YT recording of you taking measures #167 and #168 up the optional octave? Just curious.
Fantástico!!!!
Is this possible for two standard trombones instead of bass trombones? With maybe some low notes swapped out?

If you listen close enough, you can hear the sound of the valves being smashed down
❤🎉
What notes do they play at 2:57
Are you really tall or is James really short?
James Markey is probably around 5' 10''.
@@etimezz So he's like 6'4-6'6. Oh my
