    I can’t decide on getting the 300 or the 350..I’m coming off a kx 450 and I just want something less fatiguing and more off road oriented bike that will do track and desert as well as some mountain trails..between the 300 and 350 which bike do you feel vibrates the least and is easier to ride,im am a fairly fast rider I just don’t get a lot of seat time like I used to,thus wearing me out,my hands go numb which sucks and makes it difficult and dangerous when trying to ride fast,so which bike between the 300 and 350 will most likely be easier to ride and vibrate the least between the two? I don’t have the ability to side by side test both to see what i would like more,so it’s kind of a gamble unfortunately. Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks again!

      From a vibration point of view the counter balanced Austrian 300 2-stroke engines set the bar for almost no vibration and make even supposedly smooth 4-stroke engines (like the '23 YZ450F) feel like they vibrate a lot. The latest TBI 300 2-stroke KTM/Husky engines set the bar for power and strong partial throttle linear torque response. The Austrian 350 4-strokes are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and the KTM 350XCF/Husky FX350/GG EX350 have 6-speed transmissions for woods to open riding versatility. Here is one of my 300 vs 350 back to back ride reviews.... ruclips.net/video/M3VKtWK0Oqo/видео.html
      If you want to try something different you might be surprised just how good the new 300 TBI bikes work over a very wide range of terrain. I did a few of these "Does it All" videos to capture the versatility of the new 300XC TBI.... ruclips.net/video/VL5NPXdHbjc/видео.html

      @@mxengineer1 hi i recently got a 23 tx300 and was wondering how you warm it up depending on temperature as i somehow fouled a plug already even thought i followed another persons warm up procedure.

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  7 месяцев назад

      @@goon.1 On my 300 TPI bikes with oil injection it was best to start and let idle for 4~6 minutes to thoroughly warm up then run through a few gears and good to go. The new TBI 300 engines (TX300/300XC-SX) are more like carb bikes and can foul a plug if you let them idle too long when starting from cold. The key is getting the water temperature up as these bikes run rich when first started. I set the cold start button, start the bike, hold the engine RPM steady just above idle for about 30 secs then take off slowly running through the gears and gradually giving it a little more throttle. You will feel the engine start to run cleaner as the water temperature comes up and then give it a more throttle as you shift through the gears. The key is water temp. If the water temp is low the bike will run rich. no matter how high you rev it up. Finally there have been EFI map updates and some bikes require the idle and cold start and TPS to be reset - depends on the VIN. Take you bike to the dealer and have them hook it up to the XC tool to make sure you have the latest EFI map and setting. Have fun on your new TX300 - what a fun bike!

      @@goon.1 Yes push up on the cold start - let it idle with the cold start for 15~20 secs..,then roll the throttle forward to disengage the cold start and then hold the RPM steady just above idle. You may have to change this a little if it is really cold (say below 40F).

      I have not ridden the Beta 300RX but have done many back to backs with my '23 KTM 300XC and the '23 Beta 300 Race Edition. I am split between the Beta and 300 TBI bikes. If you like big power with quick revving and enjoy taking the time to dial in WP AER forks and are not afraid of new technology the 300 TBI bikes are really good. If you like simple 2-stroke engines that you can tune with jets and needles and power valve springs and enjoy the versatility of KYB suspension the Beta 300 is a great choice. I like them both!

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  Год назад +1

      The Austrian 250/300's counterbalanced engines set the bar for low vibration in a 2-stroke...almost none (especially the 250). Makes vibration noticeable on all other bikes including 4-strokes. Having said that many (most?) riders don't have issues with the vibration level of engines. Beta added a counterbalancer to their 250/300 2-strokes and from 22 model year went to a shorter stroke 300 engine in the 300RR/RE models (300RX still has the longer 72x72 bore/stroke). This '23 300RE engine vibration is noticeable mostly in the footpegs - not an issue at the handlebars. The clutch pull efforts are light on the KTM/Beta models and perhaps the 23 TX300 with BrakTec clutch is lightest effort at the lever. The '23 300RE KYB suspension setting works great off the showroom floor and responds well to clicker changes. The '23 TX300 also feels very plush and compliant but takes some time and effort to dial in (I turned the clickers out to comfort settings which helped). It is impressive how well a simple carb Beta 300RE engines runs - even when ridden back to back with a high tech fuel injected KTM/Husky 300 TBI. If you like tech then Husky/KTM are ahead. If you like simple that works then Beta is so well refined and simply works. No wrong choice!

    Two Strokes are not made to run O Ring Chains. They take away power from the rear wheel. Two strokes do not have the torque four strokes have and do not need an O ring chain. A simple test is to put your bike on a stand, attach an O Ring chain and hand spin the wheel. Then attach a non-O Ring chain and hand spin tire. You will feel less effort spinning a non O Ring chain. This is what your motor feels as well. Two strokes do not produce Torque and will not chew a non O Ring chain. Your bike will also go faster with a Non O Ring chain. Two strokes do not have engine braking caused by Torque. All of these are reason not to run an O Ring chain on a Two Stroke. In addition i own this exact motorcycle and it is the Perfect Two Stroke ever made. It is everything in a Two Stroke motor I have ever dreamed about. The engineers are so far advanced above anyone else and there is nothing to do to the motor at all. Wouldn’t one think the engineers would have put on an O Ring chain on this motorcycle if it was the best chain to run on this Husqvarna and KTM?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  Год назад

      I feel your passion about chains! KTM/Husky and now Gas Gas off road bikes (both 2-stroke and 4-stroke models) have come standard from the factory with o-ring chains for many years (even my 2022 KTM 125XC had an o-ring chain and my previous Husky TX300's came with o-ring chain as did my '23 KTM 300XC). Yamaha YZ125X/250X 2-stroke off road models come with o-ring chains. The latest "x' rings (no longer simple o-rings) have minimized the friction and some chain manufacturers claim a muddy standard chain can have more friction than the sealed o-ring chain. Enjoy your new '23 TX300!

      My passion is setting the bike up to run at its ultimatum performance. You can most definitely run an O Ring chain, but i think I’m going to continue to go with the advise of a factory Honda mechanic who shared this information with me a long time ago. I also dropped a Recluse clutch and in the process of converting the forks to the WP XACT pro cartridge components, and the shock as well. Mark Johnson of R.E.P.
