Kristy, you were made to create and to teach. Thank you for growing the gifts you were given and for sharing them with us. This tutorial was so helpful!
Thank you so much ! This feels like the nurturing encouraging art teacher I never had and need as a perfectionist adult that can't just let go! Appreciate this
Thank you for being so real. Art, and the pretentiousness of many in it, scared me from all art exploration for 40 years. Now, it is key to my sanity. Watercolor is a particular challenge that I am determined to conquer. 💜
Thank you, Kristy, for this video. I loved the pepper as you first started out. Adding the stem, that really looks like a pepper. I would stop there, but it amazes me that you keep going. Just like your leaves. You keep adding color, pushing the paint around. The pepper looks better and better. And at the end it looks more interesting, so inviting to look at. I'm so glad I found you. Thank you.
I also ordered your travel brush set, should be here today! You are so fun to watch and giving me courage to really get in there! Keep up the good work!❤️
I saw you got my gift on Instagram. It made my day. I was worried it may not get to you in one piece. So glad you liked it. I cried with you. Thank You for your videos and Lives. I have not been able to paint in awhile because my husband sadly lost his job due to health issues. Since he has been home he keeps me busy. I have not been on the lives. I miss painting with you. I have so many pictures on my phone of all my flowers from my gardens I need to get on paper.
I love to see your color palettes as every single pan looks well loved ❤. As a beginner I hope to see my palette looking just like yours . I’m learning so much from you 😊.Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge .
This is a great tutorial! I’ve been a Craftsy member for years and it’s definitely a great learning platform. I’m planning to look up your watercolor class! By the by…my favorite technique was push and pull. 🥰
Thank you so much Kristy! I am a new watercolorist, and I must tell you that your approach to teaching, the fun, the positivity, the guidance.. it’s just amazing. You are so incredibly talented as well as entertaining and down to earth. I love your videos and the Craftsy discount was icing on the cake. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication and opening my eyes to the fun and joy of painting with watercolor :-)
Love this!! I have been in a deep dive watercolor learning journey for the the last 2 years. I feel pretty decent and comfortable with it; so I decided offering to teach a watercolor beginning class at our homeschool group, for a high school credit art class would be doing for me. Kristy, OMGoodness, I can't believe how in only teaching 2 classes, so far, my personal watercolor skills have elevated...and the things I was slightly confused or didn't completely mesh are rock solid and it like all the lego pieces were loose and independent of one another all of a sudden click together to a huge aww..ha..moment!! You'll be happy to know I was doing the happy dance when you said you start off teaching beginners wet on dry first because that's exactly what I do too! Our second class last week was on value scales. To be honest, I feel like I'm better at teaching Watercolor than painting a "masterpiece" and it's so incredible to share something I love and enjoy with others. My teen boys say I should start a youtube channel on it. But all the tech stuff is so intimidating and well there are already 1000s doing it already. Nonetheless, I'm loving the new found understanding I have gained. You my dear are a big part of that!! I'm so grateful to all the artists sharing on RUclips as I'm a visual learner and couldn't have taught myself watercolor without all this free video instruction!! You are amazing and I thank you so much for all you do!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this parting your journey!! You’ve been here a while and I love seeing the evolution! You should start enchanted!! What about art for homeschool moms? You could create lessons for different grade levels etc. Easy access with accessible supplies?
"IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH BRUSHES YOU USE - USE WHAT YOU HAVE AND USE WHAT YOU LOVE" mm, im pretty sure this doesn't JUST apply to watercolor, this is kind of a LIFE lesson. 😍
Cool I never thought of the techniques in that manner. Thank you now I'm more loose with my watercolor rather than being so stiff if I make a mistake or something. Wow it's crazy. Feels better now. I can have fun. Ok well later. 😊. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸
What if you would have to leave in the middle of the piece and when you can come back, it's all bone dry? Will a long period of time away prevent the blending techniques, even if water is added?
🏆🏆🏆🏆 To You, Kristy Rice….for sheer (excuse the pun….or maybe not 🤪🤭😂) Brilliance and fabulousness (not sure if that is actually a word ?)😂 Oh well….🤪🤪

I love you telling us not to panic.

Good luck with your collection of paints people that don't have money can't buy stuff so good luck
I’m sorry don’t know how to reply. Maybe you meant this comment for a different video?
Spice Girls ❤
💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
I have a question for you, do you paint mostly in the flat position or use an easel to paint more vertical?
Always flat
It's easy to say it doesn't matter what you what products you have
I’ve actually created entire how to videos using Crayolas watercolors so it really doesn’t matter! I promise!
Where is that moon mixing palette from? 😍
Kristy, I'm not seeing the Craftsy link. ??
I searched too. So I went to google and searched. Their site is there and offering that special price of $1.49 for a full year Kristy mentioned.
It’s updated how!!! Typical forgetful me!
Hi Kristy
Where can I find that Red Creative Rebel # 12 brush? Thanks 😊
It’s part of the free from fear brush set!
Where may the blush colors in the middle of your pallet be purchased? What are the brands and color names?
Sisters Ink!
Thoroughly enjoyed this Kristy ❤ Was your reference 🌶️👯♀️?
Yes it was! Always loving chili peppers in some way!!
What if you would have to leave in the middle of the piece and when you can come back, it's all bone dry? Will a long period of time away prevent the blending techniques, even if water is added?
❤
Thanks for watching!!
I would love to see you on Craftsy, but how do I join? I don’t see a link with your offer.
Just updated!!! It’s there now!
How am I missing the Craftsy link?
Because I just updated it! 🤦🏻♀️
