@@RKMotorsportsI drove to pick up this truck I bought,I was so happy like a kid on Christmas, I didn't even think about the hrs...I was full of caffeine lol
Anyone looking for a bike, please do yourself a favor and dont do this. These guys are clearly doing it for content, and I'm all for that. Reality of the situation is patience will get you way better deals than trying to play fixer upper. I lost my gsxr750 to an 85lb dog launching itself into my front wheel and within 5 months i found a 4k miles, lightly modded '11 zx10r with very minimal blemishes in the paint(normal road driving stuff) for $6k-7k $4k+ for a bike with trashed headers(granted they didnt know about that) and almost all the plastics aint worth it. New plastics alone that arent total garbage will cost you north of a grant not to mention anything thats broken hiding underneath it.
The instant I saw the front most portion of the faring broken and then you zoomed into the headers, I knew that it had been low sided and then made impact/contact with another stationary object. I'd also check the front forks and attachment points on the axle/wheel as well as make sure that the forks are still true.
I kind of agree with your pole theory because years ago, a guy riding with us lowsided, and his bike hit a stop sign. The bottom mid section of the headers looked like someone took a baseball bat to them similar to those. 😂
Harris are an English company that made specialist high quality frames, swing arms and other high quality billet products for top level racing. Some of there frames and products made it onto street bikes too. They are well known and respected over here for high quality, and expensive products. Save those levers if you can. I had a quick look and your looking at north of £100 for used ones, if you can find them. Don't confuse them with Harris Oxford or other copies 👍
Man… that bike faired well with that damage. I am shocked it’s running so well for her to pull it back out with all of that back pressure. Those valves have to be struggling to work like that.
the damaged headers look to me like a 2X4might have impacted them, I seen a spot on the one that looks just like what the end of a stray 2X4 would do to it. maybe a board lost off the back of a truck or a piece of one that was lying on the road and got kicked up
I have to say some times looks can be desiving but when told a bout maclaren super car that apsloutely takes the cake candles icing sugar 10/10 for that
I'm thinking unloading from truck bed. Like someone was trying to hold the rear end up until the front wheel got to the end of the tail gate, but dropped it before the front wheel made it to the tail gate.
Im not sure but it looks like its its low or has no oil in the engine right now. Be carefull starting it without checking it. I also wonder how smart is actully is for the salvage employees to drive a vehicle without knowing its history, they could destroy the vehicle with even a short drive/start up.
Shit coparts gonna be auctioning off my 22 f150 here pretty soon. I launched it into a sand dune and caved the front in end. Still runs and drives even with the radiator and intercooler folded over the frame. If anybody wants a new truck with light frame damage go for it 😂😂
I don't agree with the low side and hitting a pole, a hit like that those lowers would be in pieces to smash in the headers. I think the rider hit something in the road and the object was pulled up between the wheel and header? Maby why only the lower front fairing tabs look to be broken?
No ones gonna bother changing the front wheel if they're totalling it. The only way I could see that happening is if copart themselves happened to have a matching wheel and threw it on there hoping to get more for the bike from someone like these guys who saw what looked like cosmetic damage and sent it. It's not out of the realm of possibility because copart would 100% do that, but having a matching wheel seems unlikely.
I personally do not believe that they would total something just from the exhaust being smashed in like that.. but maybe that was the guys excuse to insurance that it messed up engine never know u guess... good find... I agree about the wreck with sliding into something... telling u u Def got a great deal
Insurance companies total these bikes for next to nothing. A dog wrecked my gsxr750 at around 30mph(that's what I'm estimating I got it shut down to before he hit the side of my front wheel and took me off the road) and they totalled it for broken upper fairing mount, headlight, plastics(obv), some scratched casing and broken shifter. If you look up oem plastics for these bikes they're $1-2k not including stays, hardware, etc. And that's if you can still get them for a bike that's a generation or more out of current. You can get knockoff plastics all day for a fraction of that(they almost always fit like hot dog shit, u get what u pay for) but insurance looks at the price to put it back to what it was. They likely looked up the plastics and that header and saw it was more than $3-4k in parts, let alone labor and said "scrap it and write em a check."
when buying these salvage are you reselling as rebuilt? if so is there really much profit to be made since the value is lower since its no longer clean titled? genuinely curious
It’s very difficult to sell without a MAJOR discount. I just tried to sell my rebuilt title 2017 Zx10r for about $4k less than clean title bikes and needless to say I’m now keeping the bike. I never bought it to rebuild and then sell but wanted an RSV4. It’s absolutely worth it if you want to keep the bike but to “flip” no way.
@@kingtee94 thats what ive always thought personally but wonder why people with dealerships are buying these running bikes when they wont make anything near what they put into them after its done with a salvage or rebuilt title
Looks like loading while riding it up the ramp and the ramp slipped out and the headers hit the edge of the trailer. The crease in the headers is sharp. A carb I don't think would fold that way. Maybe guard rail?
You can't insure salvage title bikes in the states afaik... which means it's illegal to ride them on the street as insurance is required. Does that mean that people don't ride salvage title bikes? Absolutely not. Some rebuild them for stunt bikes or track bikes...and also some people don't care about all the laws cuz they dont ever intend on getting caught. But to answer your question more directly, yes, they're harder to sell and I personally wouldn't touch one with for my personal street bike.
No auction house in their right mind is giving you old plates on a used vehicle lol... that's illegal as he;;. You get temp plates at best and get new ones when you register it in your name. I'd be willing to bet you dont even get the luxury of temp plates from a place that sells salvage vehicles as most of that garbage isn't deemed roadworthy in most places.
How do you dent the headers that bad without breaking fairings or bending a rim/forks? Also no real scraping on the headers. My guess is someone tried lifting the bike from underneath and had the lift/forklift under the headers causing them to buckle.
Headers are very thin tubing, the plastics are very flexible. I had a Yamaha raptor roll on me 5 times, bent literally everything on the quad, some stress marks but didn't crack any plastics. Yamaha makes very quality fairings.😁
Liked the ACTUAL bidding on the bike being included in the video. Nice addition Rob.
I can't believe how well that runs considering. I think Kyle smashed a Monster then did a stoppie off a loading dock.
Hahahaha 😂 best scenario yet

9:39 I knew it didn’t sound rite like a normal r1 crossplain when the girl rode it over to you. It sounded like a ninja 400
It sounds like every other cross plane r1, albeit with a crushed header...

Hi Rob and Sean, you guys rock, keep sharing this awesome stuff. Greetings from Madrid, Spain!
the perfect purchase to make a trackbike. full exhaust, bit of suspension work, duct tape together the fairings and go for racing
What a awesome score brother... Well worth fixing up.🙌
already wainting the part 2
I got a clean set of stock rearsets, Tail fairing that needs paint, and the middle side fairings brand new in flat black and stock levers
nice find bro 🔥 the crossplane sounds dreamy 🎼🎼🎼
Right, I want 1 so bad but I'm not paying the 10k for a 10 year old bike people want around here.😂

It would be interesting for you to change up the types of bikes you get. It’s always a gsxr 600/100 or r1/r6

What is it you need to purchase at that auction

does it is possible that this bike came from Malaysia because of the front wheel sticker “semakin di depan”
