Obsessed with the reference to the practice of "slaying in the spirit" some Christian priests/pastors do to "heal" people. It works not only as a reference to that practice, but as a direct visual nod to the theme of someone being manipulated or being in a controlling/ abusive relationship. Going for the throat instead of the head or shoulders, as they usually do in the slaying ritual, while looming over her and looking her in the eyes is a very domineering move that shows he holds power over her and he knows it. Revels in it as a manipulative/abusive person does. It's just theatrically brilliant.

Fucking AWESOME. Clearly they use some tracks (I hear a LOT of vocal layers, plus tympani, some keys etc), but I don't have a problem with that. The result is spectacular. The core band is playing, no doubt, it's not lip-synched. But you can't get the kind of grandeur and spectacle they reach for without some production. The end justifies the means.
It is at once a beautiful song that calls to the heart, and heavy and menacing as fuck. Presented elegantly. Quite an achievement.
