I simply meant that I don’t think Cardinal here could deliver the vocals for Walk the way they need to be delivered. Cardinal’s all about subtleties and eeriness; Walk is literally as blunt and forceful as a cinderblock falling three stories and landing on your head.
The silent ghouls always make the whole aura to their live performances much more awesome to watch, and experience than so many other acts out there today.

I mean Forge is the one that composes every single instrument, in the prvious albums he pretty much just told them what to play (sure they added their "feel" to it) But he said from now on he will do it all to not end up in a situation like the drama with the previous ghouls. (For some reason they thought they were a "normal" band, but it was never weird for them that they never composed anything or had a say in any decision) Ghost has always been Tobias solo project and now the ghouls are tour memebers only.
Tobias is a huge thrash metal fan. There's an interview out there where he talks about his favourite bands and listed Metallica as one of his all time favourites. Apparently he'll spend a day or two once in a while binging out on their live performances. Pretty fun to watch him nerd out on music.
I was at this show! I am so glad i got to see ghost with my friend and his wife. We had some chill seats and loved every minute of it! I am usually not a fan of the...interim between songs, but because of how the show is meant to go, it was needed for costume change. Cheers!

New Ghost fans are like the Metallica bandwagoners that try to say that St-Anger era is great and somewhat better than Master Of Puppets era even though they never lived through it. Opinions are what they are but come the fuck on. Prequelle is the least original thing they have ever produced so far, it's formulaic with lot of sappy radio-friendly ballads (Lot of cooks in the hit factory kitchen) and trying hard to please everyone from soccer moms, to emo teens to dudebros. Replacing a satanic anti-pope figure with a goofy mustached clown joking non-stop to not hurt the midwest market. Is this a swedish band anymore or some generic US glam pop/rock?

Can someone please comment and send a video of why I should like Ghost? I've been a metalhead for years and I don't get the hype. Why does everyone think this Cardinal guy is some god? He's an ok singer and the band is pretty good but why the hype? What am I missing?
I'm a metalhead to. I mean, I love other genres of music to, but I'm definitely a metalhead by heart. Ghost have such variation in their style and Tobias is a damn fine song writer. Their earlier albums had almost a Black Sabbath meets Blue Oyster Cult kind of feel with a bit of Judas Priest and The Doors influences to boot. They can sound poppy, they can go into heavier territory to with songs like "Mummy Dust" and "Faith" as a couple of examples. Not trying to tell you "you have to love and worship ghost". Just pointing out why myself and many people do like them.
For me a lot of the appeal is in their self awareness. It's very refreshing to see a band take the dark, dreary approach but not be absolute edgelords about it. They're out to have fun, and make sure the crowd is having fun as well. It's good to step outside the norm from time to time.
They played satan prayer at Colorado Springs and I was so upset because no one other than me it seemed knew the lyrics for it. I and cardinal were so disappointed

There's also an old backstage photo of unmasked Forge (back when people were speculating that he was Papa Emeritus) posing with a bunch of other metal musicians like Danzig, Tommy Victor, Sean Yseult including Phil Anselmo. There's nothing surprising about that wink.
