It’s awesome when bands just have fun.
I think playing the same stuff round the year gets boring, so they come up with something like this to break the routine.
Hell yeah dude, especially when they've been touring together for so damn long.
Tobias mandated fun is best.

Thats a big part of the live experience for me...when they do covers, medleys, or just plain mess around.

Tom Willbanks Oh believe me, _I know_ Phil could sing. Cemetery gates is probably my favorite Pantera song. I simply meant that I don’t think Cardinal here could deliver the vocals for Walk the way they need to be delivered. Cardinal’s all about subtleties and eeriness; Walk is literally as blunt and forceful as a cinderblock falling three stories and landing on your head.
This is why this is one of the best modern bands out there, they have the roots and know how to respect the old gods

It’s hard to imagine Tobias as the lead singer for Ghost as Tobias. Each Papa and Cardinal Copia feel like actual people. Guess Tobias is that great an artist

The silent ghouls always make the whole aura to their live performances much more awesome to watch, and experience than so many other acts out there today.

I’m a fan, I know they’re not everyone’s “cup of tea”. Saw them for the first time the night after in Trenton. I think even if you didn’t like this band that much, after seeing their live act you’d have to at the very least give them props for both live musicianship and showmanship. Maybe even become a fan after too

@Badass Dan well. The singer writes all the music and performs all of it on the album tobias is massively talented I get what your saying but for real ghost is one of my personal top 5 bands and I am a huge fan of bands like Slipknot Ice Nine Kills Metallica etc.
The point of the musical style is that it's reminiscent of a clean, wholesome music, while having rather anti-religious lyrical contents.
Its awesome to know a band can have such awesome theatrics these days, and still throw down some old riffs

I doubt it...the papa is a fickled sort...
I mean Forge is the one that composes every single instrument, in the prvious albums he pretty much just told them what to play (sure they added their "feel" to it) But he said from now on he will do it all to not end up in a situation like the drama with the previous ghouls. (For some reason they thought they were a "normal" band, but it was never weird for them that they never composed anything or had a say in any decision) Ghost has always been Tobias solo project and now the ghouls are tour memebers only.

Sadly it's been announced by the higher-ups that these ghouls will not be partaking in the next album or it's tour.
I like Ghost even more knowing they are Pantera fans!
Tobias is a huge thrash metal fan. There's an interview out there where he talks about his favourite bands and listed Metallica as one of his all time favourites. Apparently he'll spend a day or two once in a while binging out on their live performances. Pretty fun to watch him nerd out on music.
If you were a fan back in the day, you would know Phil actually gave them approval and had them come out on stage with Down.

I was at the show the night before in Syracuse and I wish they would have done that... I miss Dime and V.P. so much. What a great homage to that era of metal!

I was at this show! I am so glad i got to see ghost with my friend and his wife. We had some chill seats and loved every minute of it! I am usually not a fan of the...interim between songs, but because of how the show is meant to go, it was needed for costume change.

This was such an enjoyable show all the way through. Long after the encore was over and most bands would be long gone The Cardinal and Co. were still out front interacting with fans.

This was hands down one of the best shows I've been to recently. Will definitely be seeing them in 2021 to get my taint ticked and my ass wobbled once again.

A lotta negative comments around here! Don’t know why, this band is different, original, put a lotta effort and work into their life performances, it’s really fun to watch them live! Saw them 2 times this year and they rock! We can’t be stuck on the years of trash and hair metal forever.

New Ghost fans are like the Metallica bandwagoners that try to say that St-Anger era is great and somewhat better than Master Of Puppets era even though they never lived through it. Opinions are what they are but come the fuck on.
Prequelle is the least original thing they have ever produced so far, it's formulaic with lot of sappy radio-friendly ballads (Lot of cooks in the hit factory kitchen) and trying hard to please everyone from soccer moms, to emo teens to dudebros. Replacing a satanic anti-pope figure with a goofy mustached clown joking non-stop to not hurt the midwest market. Is this a swedish band anymore or some generic US glam pop/rock?

The whole, “They went soft so I don’t like them anymore” cry grew boring decades ago when other elitists whined about the black album. I’d actually prefer going to a Ghost concert and seeing soccer moms rather than people like you. No one likes a crier.
That's how you bring the crowd to life and engage them!
