This will always be the official video for me. The crazy camera angle, colored vinyl. Bass drop pitch bend before the chorus. It got me through many of my janitor shifts hunched over my cleaning barrel.
Just remember this is a ‘throwaway’ song that most people - even Ghost fans - don’t know and it’s still fucking amazing. This one song would be enough to sustain most bands for a lifetime. And Ghost has one masterpiece after another after another after another
Kenneth Ostrer this is a great song I agree but it didn’t make the album because it didn’t fit the concept. It was released on vinyl I have it and you are correct it is a masterpiece and Ghost is probably one of the best bands to come around in quite sometime.

I like this song because if someone were to ask you what type of music ghost plays you just play them this song. It has the evilness of year zero, the heaviness of cirice, the elegance of monstrance clock, and the catchyness of ritual

Alexis Del Castillo i agree with everything expect the evilness of year zero. that song is one on it's own, no other song like it. secular haze was the first song i ever heard and i liked it, year zero was second and it scared the shit out of me. that "satanic" dark dress video be they had is what draws everyone in, and ghost changed their sound heavily to fit mainstream.

A sad truth, Ghost's more Pop-like songs get more attention, because Poppy catchier songs grab radio time easier. This track is fire, but we need to remember that most listeners don't need fancy intricacies, but only a catchy hook that repeats itself, and we see that Ghost has been pretty successful with that on Dance macabre, Square hammer and such.

I always thought it had a Blue Oyster Cult feel to it. The dryness of the compression and distortion on the guitars, the vox, the keyboards. One of my favorite pieces by Ghost.

I've slowly become a huge fan of this band over the past several months. This is arguably their best track. I can't stop listening. It has everything I've come to expect from Ghost - mystery, poetry, sadness, and evil grooves. And that amazing keyboard dive at 1:25. Hail Ghost!

Before I heard this song, I would always scroll past this video thinking, "Why do I see this song in particular on vinyl and not another?" Now I know why.
Probably their best track. Omega (Martin) is all over this, but I get why it didn't make the album. Doesn't quite fit the flow, yet stands out so well on its own. I'd be happy if it carried over to the next album though, not that that's likely.
It couldddd be on the new album coming sooner this year or maybe next year. Honestly the new album is giving me 60's vibes because Tobias covered Sympathy For The Devil by The Rolling Stones. The new Papa just gives the look too, but I would highly doubt this were to be on an album.

It feels like something that would be on Prequelle and not just a hidden/bonus track for Meliora. It gives me the dark age/plague vibe like how Prequelle was centered on and not the whole humanism and avarice thing.

Most Americans pronounce the "TU" as a "CH," which is rather inelegant.
I don't quit understand why they didn't put this on Meliora, especially since the theme of this song goes along very nicely with the one on the album. Luckily I was able to snap me my own copy of the song!
My thought on this is that it would kind of destroy the effect that listening to Meliora as a whole has on listeners. Zenith kind of connects Deus in Absentia to Spirit so that the Album would become full circle. Looks like that was not intended which is why they put Zenith out via Vinyl. This way everyone is able to enjoy Meliora as a complete piece of art and Zenith apart from it. We are still free to download and cue it in a playlist after Deus in Absentia.
Yeah the probable reason is that tobias is a massive control freak and the idea of 2 songs written by anyone else being under the name of ghost is just too far
