This is a great design Zom, its going to be great for early game and in looking at it I dont see a reason not to upgrade as stone becomes available. I've used a lot of your builds in my play throughs with my own modifications but this one is pretty much perfect as is. I might build a garden/boar/bee area off on one of the sides but thats only for food cultivation not the aesthetic.
Thank you! I was thinking of building a stone version of this build, but with larger towers, make the courtyards larger to accommodate things like what you mentioned the bee and boars a long with a bigger farm area.
I know I'm late for the party but I just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed your video, I love these kind of Valheim building ideas. I have even started to build one fort based on this video.
Nice build, in survival you would have to dig a good trench around it though. I hate that palisades can be damaged by basic mobs, trolls are understandable but graelings and grey dwarfs shouldn't be able to.
Nice, you almost had it. a real 'starter base'. But of course using chest and some upgrades from the iron age cannot be considered 'starter' stuff. However, these can be added later and it doesn't alter much your base at the start. The esthetic is also nice. Worth the time it takes to gather resources and build it, nice job.
@@ZomZeroBuilds I've been playing a lot of Sons of the Forest lately, but watching this video makes me want to wipe my Valheim server and start a new Valhiem plathrough with my son.

Great build guy if I could say one thing is to do a little more step by step would be great I know you edit for time but I find myself pausing an trying to figure parts out that are way too fast for me to figure out
Great build dude, one of my new favorites! I do have some notes because I actually used your build guide for the last sort of palisade fort you made, and it turns out its a little tricky to shoot at baddies directly down from the ramparts. Even with a moat it's difficult to hit something at the bottom of the wall. You're more likely to just hit the wall itself. Also since the battlements are plain wood with no roof, do you tend to just accept that they're always going to be half-degraded from water damage? Or is there a solution for that?
I decided long ago, that i was not going to allow the weathering to effect the way I build, If you have a moat round your base nothing should get close to your walls, unless you have a full bridge going across the moat for you to get across?
sorry tbh I have no clue, it would be a nightmare for me to calculate the amount of wood I used in the build in creative mode, all i can say is it is going to be a lot of gathering if you plan to build this solo, be easier if you have a few friends to help build it.
@@thatdude1435 it is only used on the back battlement wall, because of the way to towers base was done, it made the back and front uneven, so the back battlement wall and front gatehouse are the only uneven numbers in the build.
What purpose does a base serve in Valheim? Is there an option to build offensive structures to make your defenses stronger, or is it just walls keeping things away from your production and storage? I am thinking about trying the game, but what I have seen of it so far is that the bases do little for defense and people exploit the AI with terrain for actual defenses. This has prevented me from buying it so far.

Nice build! :)
What is it about that half you used in width? What is the purpose?
Cant seem to figure it out.
The half is 10 and a half meaning I used 10, 2 metre wood beams and 1, 1metre beam, it is the only way i could get the design to work.
@@ZomZeroBuilds okay, so its 'technically' 21 meters wide right?
@@thatdude1435 yeah that's right.
@@ZomZeroBuilds but where is the 1 meter used? I dont get it since your outer gate is centered, which wouldn't be possible with an uneven number :)

Just put roofs on the towers and battlements. As long as they're grounded properly it should slow or eliminate decay/degradation.
