@@MaraJoshWana it was especially annoying because you can't or at least couldn't at the time reliably plant trees, so I had to go to a new world, cut down a bunch of trees, take that would to my world, unload the wood, go back to the world get more wood etc
i just built the viking starter base on my solo world the last two days , let me tell you it took me 12-13 hours to build. now i want to destroy it and build this one. my head is going to hurt.
You have to stop imagining it as a blueprint and think about what ideas can I take from the visual or design aspects of the build. If you drive down a suburban neighborhood you will notice the houses have the same basic design. It is the differences that are added or removed that make them look different.
If you have the self control turn on debug mode and build what you need then turn it off, I don't have self control, i spawn in the best gear and fly around killing stuff then get bored
Awesome build! I took the blueprints and did it 1.5x size for the outer perimeters so I could have a bigger farm in the middle. One of my favorite builds I've seen. Great work
I think the best part about this build is that it’s pretty simple to modify once you start to unlock higher tier content like the artisan table and the windmill.
Yeah, totally. He said it's designed for teams, but as a solo player, it's nice to see an early-game buildable design that can adapt to later-game needs without a complete overhaul.
The great thing about this kind of build set up is that its very easily modified to make it into a larger base just by moving things out a little bit, or extending wall sizes etc. For example, i personally like having a big tree in the center of my bases, so just extending the walls y 1 or 2, and making the buildings just 1 floor tile out each way can accommodate that very easily, or even just planting them in the corners could give that greenery aesthetic.
Ok guys we got another starter base for you to take a look at, The Homestead Starter Base for Valheim, can be used for 2-4 players or if you are a solo player then this can be a big project build for you. also RUclips is taking longer then usual to process the 1080p so I apologise if the quality of the video at the time you are watching is of a lower quality, ZOM!!
I'm glad it's not just me that optimistically puts beams on the tops or bottoms of doorways and tries walking through just in case it ever one day works.
Amazing build plan btw. I built it to test its durability on my world, from troll raids to fuling raids, nothing broke. Not even the spikes. Very well built for a starter base. But my worlds are all survival so obviously I was fighting as well as letting my base defend me.
Giving me a great, easy to read floorplan with measurements at the start of the video? Well now, that's how you get a comment and a like from me, good sir!
Took the skeleton and went to town with this one. Thanks a ton! Opened up the internal stake walls, roofing to cover the guard gate, the courtyard areas between buildings, and a bit of other stuff. This was a fun one
I underestimated the amount of wood I needed to cut down about ... 10 times hahaha. Awesome build. Earned a sub for sure. Amazing walk through as well.
Absolutely awesome. (Spoilers ahead) I built this across the water from the swamp so I could farm scrap iron and keep my food up while doing so. Killer build.
I saw all of 1 minute before subscribing - Love your voice.. :) Very calming. Edit: Hope you'll talk more over your videos, what you're doing, thought etc
I made a bridge over the gate connecting the watch towers along with an awning above all of the upper exterior walls. It was a pain but totally worth it.
Beautiful and functional. The only thing I'd add is a moat a few meters away from the wall outside the perimeter else you'll be in for a lot of repair the first time you see "The ground is shaking". The sharpened stakes won't stop the Big Blue B@ST@RDS, ask me how I know lol.
Used your blueprint mate, almost 700 in game days in now. Everything in game that’s available is complete. I expanded quite a bit but these were great bones. Cheers
Am less than a minute into the video, already love the look of it. Am coming back to Valheim after a long break (never progressed much further beyond the first boss) but am going to build this! And maybe have a boar pen on the side

Late to the party but I’m doing this build right now in survival. Expanded it by 2x but it’s coming together slowly. Spent hours today and only just now at the putting up the stockade wall. Takes forever when you gotta get the resources but nice build 👍
@@percollen46 so far I’m nearly done just have to add furniture and such so the actual base is done. Considering it’s 2 times larger then the video it’s gonna add more resources obviously. If I had to give a rough estimate I would say 5k wood. I basically kept filling a cart full of wood and continuing work until I ran out and filled up again. Sounds like a lot but not all at once. Took me a couple days of playing a few hours each day.
Pretty much finished with this build myself hehe. I think I might mirror image it and expand the back too, or try and combine all your builds into one war camp lol
Great video! Very hellpful to have the initial foundations laid out. Let me build the foundation blueprint without having to keep rewinding. One thing I will say is that I think it will be necessary to build Roofing over the upper wall paths and front towers or they will degrade from rain
Thankyou!! I do hope one day we can protect the wood without having to put a roof over it, the only way to do it now is by having the new ashlands shield generator, which can protect the building from the weather.
amazing build dude, I just copied it to my world. but I have a question, how do you deal with decaying constructions? you have a lot of expose materials.
Not bad. Pretty. I'd worry about the complexity of the outer walls and remembering to replace all the little things when a troll has his way with it... But i suppose i could put a second exterior palisade wall... Or a spike trench... Or both...
I would put portals in the 2 front towers, could possibly get 2 in each tower, or use the main back tower as a portal hub instead of putting storage in like I have.
Love the build but I'm not sure on the workbench and Forge placement. I can't build the Forge unless I build a second workbench closer to the other room. I didn't see a second workbench in yours. How did you do it?
That floor plan graphic with dimensions was an awesome thing to include. Thanks for that man
I agree. I love build videos with these types of floor plans displayed. I like to use their starting pattern and then finish it with my own details.
this needs to be pinned and upvoted like crazy. having that floor plan is what brings videos like this to 11/10 rating imo!
Totally agree. Tbh to me it was confusing but still helpful to screenshot
It looks like a nice starter base for your grandchildren to have after you and your kids spend their entire life getting enough wood for it
The best tend to be the 100 or 300 wood starter houses
Just to give people a reference. I built this over a day and it took a black metal chest full of wood.
