This song got my emotions everywhere brings back memories of my mom and dad. Grew up in the church a preachers kid I haven’t heard this song since my parents were alive. I love you mom and dad. I miss u guys so much as I am sitting here crying like a baby. Thank you guys for this. I love you two
@IENetworkTV first I like to say I'm sorry for your loss. I understand exactly what you mean. My mom passed just 2 months ago. Thank God we still have my father but I know exactly how you're feeling. May God bless you and help you get through the pain that you're feeling right now 🙏🏾
My grandmother loved "The Commodores" and this song. When she passed away a week before Christmas in 2021, I had to pick out songs for the service and visitation hour. I chose this one for family and friend visitation hour at the funeral home, and as it played, a slide show of her through the years with family and friends played on-screen for us to see. I've lost my mom, all four grandparents, my favorite uncle, one of my favorite aunts, and Christmas can be tough, along with any other day when it comes to my my mom. She was my absolute best friend. I was blessed to have such loving elders, and I miss them all. 😢❤
i remember singing this at my summer camp back when i was a kid at a camp for young blind and visually impaired children at our Sunday chapel service so much love
I just recommended, Oh Happy Day, by The Edwin Hawkins Singers, on another one of your reactions to a religious-themed song. So this is the perfect place to recommend it again. It was a surprise hit in the mid 1960s across America, Canada and Europe. You both grew up in the church, so I’m sure you’ll dig it.
I went to a all boys catholic high school in the inner city of Detroit and this was played every day in morning prayer. So glad you guys got to listen to this
When this album came out my Mom bought the 8-track & we listened to it every Sunday morning on our way to First Missionary Baptist Church. This song always get me in the Spirit.
Imagine hearing this when it first came out on the radio and you turn the volume way up. I remember choirs immediately started singing this. My sister sang this and I still love to hear her sing it today. One of my favorites.
I disagree. The bible is fiction. There's no way Israel conquered Caanan without taking any casualties on their side. That would be like Hitler conquering Europe without firing a single shot. Never happened.
"Jesus Is Love" was released in 1980. Lionel Richie wrote it, and star arranger James Anthony Carmichael brought in a Gospel choir and composed their vocal arrangement. Even though the song was on a secular album, it became an R&B hit, and I've heard it performed at my church and many others. "Father, help Your children" indeed. ✝☀
Just beautiful, makes u get lost for a moment in flight. Amazing song, sound that sooths the heart. Thanx so much, take care, Praying all is well. Praying for strength and Blessings of Peace for u all.
Amen Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing Alot of us out here praying for your family. Love you guys. You bring so much joy to my life and so many others
Fam, there is soooo much untapped music you haven't tapped into. This is a great way to start the gospel genre. There are so many great gospel artists with super amazing voices that need to be heard. Also, the smooth jazz genre is virtually untapped in this channel However, to keep this momentum going with mainstream artists singing gospel/church music, check out Howard Hewitt's "Say Amen". Howard was the lead for Shalamar, whom you've reacted. Banger!!
Hebrew has no vowels. The translators filled in the blanks with guesses. For all we know, the original could say, "Jesus is lard." Maybe he was overweight or something. 🤣
@@platterjockeyYou believe Jesus walked the earth, but you are bordering on athiesm, can I ask what account brought you to believe Jesus walked the earth but left you teetering on the edge of athiesm ?.
@@TARZANswings Sure! The fact that humans are evil, and no faith in a deity will end it. There is no evidence of a deity or a savior, and no evidence of an afterlife. Jesus walked the earth, but he was not created by immaculate conception. That goes against the laws of nature. And, if mary was a virgin, she was artificially inseminated. Ah, but Jesus had siblings. Were they older or younger, and did Mary breed them? Until these answers, and many more can be scientifically answered, i'll continue to be skeptical. I need scientific evidence, not belief.
Hey guys, I know you've done a lot of songs by Lionel Richie but here's one that you haven't done yet, " Sweet Love." Check it out the next time, I believe he sang it when he was with the Commodores.
Goodness Gracious this song is very emotional for me.....Goodness!!! Love the reaction guys!!! Love Love the song!!! And I adore the Commodores!!! An d in times of hardships and troubles this song especially has meaning among African Americans where Gospel music originated. Good jobs guys!!!
This classic came out during an interesting time. Gospel although not mainstream was starting to get recognition. The Winans had just recorded their first album and “Love Alive” by Walter Hawkins had brought new energy to “Church Music”. Lionel Ritchie’s piano intro gives me chills🎼🎹👏🏾
If you loved the original version, which this is, you need to find an hear the live version. It will definitely fill you with the Holy Spirit. This is my all time favorite song by the Commodores. I've been a born again Christian for over 50 years. This banger hits home every time I hear it. My favorite part is "I just wanna follow your star. Wherever it leads. And I don't mind Lord. I hope you don't mind. I wanna walk with you. Talk with you. Do all the things, You want me to do. Cause I know that Jesus" that brings a tear to my eye, every time I sing it. Thanks for the selection and the reaction.
One of my favorite Commodore songs. Thank you, guys, for reacting to this. I KNOW in my heart that someone needed to hear this today. I felt that there was someone out there that was feeling down and what a great message to send them. It was no accident that this was the one chosen for today. Another song I would love to hear you react to is "Say Amen" by Howard Hewitt. I know you will enjoy that one as well. It was played on the radio a lot back in the day as this one was.
Before starting his music career, Lionel Richie was planning to be a preacher. But he later changed his mind about that. Little Richard & Al Green are ordained ministers. For awhile, both left secular music to exclusively release gospel albums (Al for a longer period of time), but later started to perform their old stuff.
Never heard this, even though i'm 61 yo non-believing atheist, still enjoyed. Can't go wrong with Lionel Ritchie, such a talent. Be well my friends.✌️PS more Supertramp please
