Imagine a documentary like this would come out in the 80s. All the vhs players would've been fucking smoking from working overtime, recording it. We would've cherished it for DECADES!
And now, it's just an E-PI-SODE of a series!!!! 🤯
We are fucking spoiled.
Anthrax! For All Kings! 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
This entire series was SO DAMN GOOD! Huge thanks to everyone involved in creating it!
Yes ! It was amazing
Glad this one is finally out but kind of bummed there won't be any more episodes. Anthrax Forever.
There will be more to come from Anthrax!
Exactly
Ye have to say was excellent doc series
@Life Is Peachy Because at the very end it says '"To Be Continued". They also say as much in the video. Anthrax are not going anywhere!
For me, "for all kings" is the best album that any of the big US thrash have released of late.
I agree. The others were great but there's just something about for all Kings that keeps me coming back for more.
This web series just confirms that not only are Anthrax the best of the Big 4, but one of the very best Heavy Metal bands of all times!!! Top tier, hands down, no further questions.
Hard agree
Brilliant docu-series. Sad it’s over. I’ve listened to more Anthrax since this series started than I have in 35 years.
Anthrax is the only of the Big Four (Big 3, now) to do something like this for the 40th, something so much for the fans. They are #1 in my book. Thanks guys, Anthrax for life, metal for life.
I love how Gene Simmons, possible the wealthiest person to appear in any of these videos, has, by far, the shittiest Zoom set up.
It's on purpose
Its not "Gene Simmons".
Its Gene Simmons.........FROM KISS!!!".
And thanks to…
Joey for being the spiritual and laconic guide of Anthrax
Charlie for his untarnished soul and child-like awe,
Frankie for that inner Italian wise-guy and big hearted attitude,
Scott with his unmatched advocacy and willingness to reveal all the hardships,
And Jonathan for being an inspired fan like a lot us, but one lucky mother…
Joey is one of my favorite singers. Not just because I'm also native American, but because he's super cool and grew up listening to him. His singing is a part of my DNA 😆
I just got tears in my eyes, because you’ve been part of all my life. From mid school, through music school, through college, through higher degrees, marriage, good times, bad times, as a musician, as a scientist, lots of bands/tastes/styles have come and gone…and YOU have always been there. I am 53 yo. You do not know me, but you are a so fkng part of me…words can not describe. I still have my old skateboard that helped move me in College from one building to another and, I wanted to do by myself the best/coolest logo on it ever. You know what I decided to draw, cut, carve and paint to perfection so EVERYBODY can see it? Your fkng name/Logo: ANTHRAX. My best wishes and a big THANK YOU for being there for me and all of us.
Worship Music and For All Kings so great . . . they found the sweet spot between thrash metal and commercial hard rock. Amazing--because who knew that existed? I truly loved this series and I am so grateful the band made me reflect on my own life. Thx Anthrax.
I traveled from Oran (Algeria) to Glasgow in like 24h to see them once and came back right after... Fuck! It was the best thing I did in my entire life... Long life Anthrax 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Been here since 1987, 11 years old. You guys are what turned me on to metal, especially thrash!!! Here I am at 44 years old and still loving it. Thank you for everything🤘🤘🤘 Can't wait for the next chapter, album, show, etc.
@Life Is Peachy ...I am referring to albums, tours....etc. Not this series. Well aware "For All Kings" was the final episode.
@Life Is Peachy stop!!! They've been considered "dead in the water" many many times and always come back amazing. You can't deny that. Fuck this Scamdemic. If Shit Biscuit can tour everybody else can to. Even if you are correct which I don't believe, 40+ years is an amazing run. Anthrax aren't done yet.....you'll see.💀😁🤘
@Life Is Peachy everyone has an opinion. That's you're....I'll stick with mine and keep enjoying the great music like have for the past 34 years. Seriously though.....comparing Limp Biscuit to Anthrax? That's hilarious. They're just living and touring off their first 2 albums. Anthrax keeps pumping killer album after album. They COULD keep going off their living off their back catalog as Douche Biscuit does but.....they keep producing killer albums....NEW MUSIC!!! There is NO comparison my man. Have yourself a wonderful day/night. You're outlook on life seems promising😂😂😂 Enjoy that👍🤘
@Life Is Peachy 😂😂😂keep smoking that good shit Bud.....lets see where Fred Durst is in another 20 years.
@Life Is Peachy music is supposed to entertain yourself, enrich your life, maybe even teach yourself some new skills...music has nothing to do with who sells the most records. It's not basketball or hockey. Fleetwood Mac 'rumours' has sold 40 million copies, so going off of your twisted logic I guess you'll be burning your precious limp dick records as you rock out to 'go your own way'. And you really should.
This might be the best metal documentary about a single band ever produced. Congratulations to everyone involved - and to the guys in Anthrax, you were the first band I ever saw live (September 1986, Birmingham, UK) and I've loved you ever since. THANK YOU for 40 years of amazing music and can't wait for what's coming next.
Anthrax haven't missed a step...I think they've gotten better over time. Joey and John and back to Joey has been a great ride...loved all that music.
Back in late 86 I first heard them and they became my favourite band, all these years later they're still my favourite band, no soft/radio friendly albums still metal! Love them!
I've been a fan of Anthrax since 1985 when I first heard Madhouse and was totally blown away. My first album was Among The Living and the only thing I haven't done is see them live, although I do have the live dvds.
DUDE.......YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM LIVE.... I was lucky enough to see them first on the SPREADING tour !!!!!! and EVERY TOUR SINCE... (AND I've also seen THE MIGHTY S.O.D. ...THE HEAVIEST BAND EVER... )
I still haven't seen them live as well... which fuckin sux big time!! I would really love to should they tour again, then I can die an extremely happy fan!!
Scott: “What is the secret?” I think the secret is that y’all are still having fun and enjoy each other. Look at your Big 4 brethren, none of those other three bands have what you guys have … love, happiness, fun. Thanks for this video series. It has been great.
I thought the same thing viewing this episode. Look to Big 4 photos, only Anthrax seems to enjoy the moment. Antd this is the secret of their career: fun and music.
I don't care what anybody said or think.....state of euphoria was....is and will be anthrax best album...song by song
Definitely their most underrated album. Never understood why it wasn't as loved as their earlier albums. Spreading The Disease has always been my favorite from 'Thrax since I discovered them.as a kid in the 80s, but Euphoria is definitely a Top 3 album in my opinion.
What a series. This was about as enjoyable as it gets. As a kid from Queens, who walked around with a boombox cranking the Armed and Dangerous ep and Spreading the Disease in 1984/5, Thank you for putting this together. Great, great content.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you for 40 years. I've been a fan since I first dropped the needle on Fistful Of Metal when it came out and have enjoyed EVERYFUCKINGTHING the band has created. What a journey it's been and I look forward to where ever the band goes from here. To every person who has been part of ANTHRAX... THANK YOU for keeping the spirit of the band alive, keeping the music groovin' and my head bangin'. You're all kings.
For All Kings is a masterpiece, what an amazing album and the performance from Joey is so epic it brings those happy tears you long for. An excellent 24 episode doc even if it did skip over the really meaty parts of the story and nearly an entire decade of turmoil 2003-2011. Maybe someday we get a feature length fan doc on that.
Apart from the Nelson dude, which other parts of the Anthraccount were omitted?
Love my Anthrax, but you seem to know all there is to know.
@@autentyk5735 That whole era was glossed over. How they basically kicked John and Rob out for Joey and Dan, and when that fell apart "oh we've got unfinished business with the wcfya lineup and that fell apart, so they get dan. That turns to shit, so the go back to John again, well he returns they do a bunch of shows, but he doesn't want to sing Dan's parts on the new album so they go back to Joey. And that's awkward as fuck because Scott talked mad shit about Joey through the years. "We need a lion not a..." I don't remember how he finished that sentence. It was a crazy time to be in Anthrax, I remember hearing the initial release date for Worship Music and from what I remember that day came and went with no announcements or anything. I love Anthrax. None of this is me trying to talk shit on the band at all. But yeah a lot was left out. Which is fine this was fluff piece meant to celebrate the band and it was awesome.
@@brandonkdrummer This is all pretty damn accurate, but I have to say, I think everyone in the band, especially Scott, has been contrite about their mistakes. They definitely weren't perfect and acknowledged it, even if they didn't address each situation specifically. But that's life, right? You love, you make mistakes, and hopefully you got friends good enough to forgive you. Loved this documentary, loved the comments too. It was a lot of fun this summer just taking a super deep dive into one of my favorite bands of all time.
@@JosephTavano I completely agree with you.
@@brandonkdrummer Ditto to what Brendon said, well put. As a big fan I was hooked on what the band had been selling, so I wasn't into Joey coming back for Worship Music. So glad I was wrong because I love his return and what they've done since then. I understand there's legal issues with Dan Nelson but if they could have addressed what happened it would have made the story of Joey's comeback even more impactful.
40 years?!? Holy heck, I've been an Anthrax fan for at least 32 of those years. Keep up the awesome work, guys! Can't wait to see what's next!
Fan since 1987. Amazing to think they've been a constant in my life's soundtrack since I was 14. Just so happy that they were able to bring Joey back for Worship Music and move forward with all the great music since. Can't wait for a tour next year (Covid, please fuck off in the meantime).
Thank you Anthrax! The most down to earth and approachable bands on the planet! Soundtrack to my life! 🤘
Been on the Anthrax train since the 80's, no plans to ever get off. Love you guys, Bring The Noise. Oh and get your arses back to UK as soon as possible please. \m/ \m/
The 'Blood Eagle' episode of VIKINGS is one of the most intense, brutal things I have ever seen, and you barely see anything. Just the idea of it makes you almost want tot pass out.
Thanks to all who had something to do with putting these videos together.. VERY enjoyable and brought up SO many great memories in music and life.. Thank you guys! Been a hell of a ride so far. Continued success and good health to all.
This documentary has been the best online thing of the spring/summer. Thanks guys!
Every guitarist wants to write a Tornado of Souls solo. There are several solos on For all Kings that sound like Jon is heading in that direction….. great addition to the family.
Dan Spitz's solos fit the band's songs much better.
@@dowens3781 i think he’s very good at capturing Danny’s spirit. It’s like Kiko when he Plays Marty’s stuff. Of course he’s not Marty Friedman, but he approaches the solos with a respect, and i believe Jon does as well
@@allendean9807
Kiko is a lot closer to Marty's style than Jon is to Dan. Jon is like a faceless new school shredder who sounds a little bit like every modern metal lead player but has no distinct style of his own - Dan is a Randy Rhoads-esque player who also has a lot of his own style as well.
Yes, we all like Danny in classic Anthrax. But he's not here. Jon is a younger player, influenced by all the badassery of the 80s, and he brings something new. There are many moments on For All Kings where I say "whoa, that was badass".
@@HabAnagarek WELL SAID MAN !!!!!!!! I FUCKING LOVE Danny's playing, BUT...... JON is NOOOOOOOOOOO slouch...I have been a fan of SHADOWS FALL since the beginning, and have seen them MANY, MANY times Over the years up to Jon's departure..JON IS A GREAT FIT. I. M.O.
Worked for the local promoter in my town and worked the among the living tour show. Was lucky enough to help drum tech John Tempesta set up Charlie’s kit and clean cymbals . Met the whole band and sat on their bus and they all signed a shirt for me . Wore that thing out haha
Thank you thank you for this serie, Anthrax to me are one of the top threemetal banns, still listening to them since Fistful of metal. 40 years together, that's incredible, as one of the greatest band in the world, Rush. Metal won't be the same without you guys, and without S.O.D. too, I can't imagine. So happy anniversary and I hope to see you again in next 10 years still moshing!
Benante is one of the all-time great rock drummers, IMO. Just Fantastic. Right there with Peart, Moon, Bonham, Carey, Copeland, and Ward.
Anthrax are amazing. Looking forward to the next chapter in their history. New album please!
Been with anthrax since i was 13yrs old! My first live metal show was among the living tour at edinburgh playhouse with testament as support, i even managed front row!! Best live act youll ever see... so much energy! P.s im in the kings of scotland dvd a few times🤟🤟❤
Charlie is so full of himself, Frankie is completely clueless and Scott is a living legend...bless them, thanx for the music!
What a fabulous documentary! Put out a physical version with outtakes
Great idea 👍🏼
This series was amazing! I've been a fan for about 30+ years and it was great to go back and follow the Anthrax journey through time, revisit and re-fall in love with albums and songs. Can't wait to hear the next one. 🤘
40 years… I was 12 years old when Anthrax surfaced on the early thrash metal scene. I lived and breathed that scene for decades as it became part of the very fabric of who I am today. I thoroughly enjoyed this anniversary series and only wish that there were 40 more episodes! Guess I’ll have to replace that with some more live Anthrax shows. Congratulations thrash Kings!!!
I am with you! Since Fistful of Metal. I am 53 and I ‘ve been loyal to them since day 1.
Been with these boys since “Spreading” last saw them on the Euphoria tour.
Think I might have to go see them again soon.
This series has reignited my love for Anthrax.
What a band...
@Life Is Peachy What? Have you ever been to a an Anthrax headline show? I've been to multiple and every time me and my friends left absolutely exhausted from the mosh and still wanting more. And every time there'd be a good handful of songs we'd all agree would have been cool to also hear. They got enough solid songs for two full sets. But this goes to show how subjective taste is.
Thanx for all the memories. The best is always yet to come for those who believe.
Wizard & Glass was my favorite Dark Tower book... For All Kings was an awesome album.
Great to see and hear they are far from finished...i grew up with this band, the oldies in metal still going strong🤘🏻🎸✊...keep on headbanging and shredding! Hail Anthrax! Greetings from the Netherlands👍🏻🇳🇱🤘🏻
Love this docuseries! 40 years of Anthrax!! I dig the Big Four! But a fist is made of five... OVERKILL!
Frank NAILING the Paul Stanley impersonation LOL
I just don't know if it's a genius idea or a dumb one, but being Anthrax entering the 4th decade of their entire history, would be extremely nice to make what Helloween made, bringing back past members... so, how awesome would be to have Bush and Belladona singing like Deris and Kiske are doing, sharing the stage and the mic? How awesome to have Caggiano and Spitz with Donais and Ian? That would be great, I do believe... even for just a touring season...
How's this for an idea you could have enough members to do 2 line ups for a tour. You'd have the current line up plus the following:
John Bush
Greg D'angelo
Dan Lilker
Dan Spitz
Paul Crook
Neil Turbin
Andreas Kisser
Rob Caggiano
That would be epic 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
God Bless Anthrax!!! Thank you SO much for 40 years of kicking fucking ass!!!!!
🤘🏼🤘🏼
This has been an epic series. I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed reliving every moment of your 40 years with you - of which I‘ve personally shared 35 of them as a fan! Long may you continue to mosh up my efilnikcufecin ! 😎🤘
I Really appreciate the effort for these videos from guests, band members and all the folk editing and recording it all together. For the past few months my most looked forward thing has not been TV shows or cinema films but THIS documentary series. My only nitpick would be the lack of 2004-2010 era input, even a quick 5 minute part would have sufficed. I say that because that was the time when I became a fan of the band. When all this covid goes away, Anthrax are right at the top of bands I want to go and see live!
I dunno who the fuck didn't like this...every time this doc would pop up on my feed. It was the first thing I watched ... this band has been with me since '86 ...when my cousins from NY turned me onto them...from the beginning, up here in vt..no one had heard of them..and I floored the shit out of people, to hear this band...they've always been on the playlist..always makes me sing along...to head bang right along with all the tunes... always fucking Anthrax...fucking ALWAYS
Masterpiece album! Love from Canada please come back! ♥️🇨🇦
Epic finale to an epic series. Thank you and happy anniversary Anthrax for an incredible 40 years!!
I've had a great life and Anthrax has been a part of that . Thanks guys
This is one of the greatest Metal bands ever!!! It's so cool to see these videos and remember the old times, I hope you guys keep going for 40 more years.
I finally learned how to pronounce John's last name
Same here bud, been a fan throughout the Shad's years as well. Didnt know how the hell to pronounce his name, but he is a metal flame holder.
I think the underdogs of the big 4 are Anthrax. How they made it to 40 is a show of tenacity and perseverance. They had to work just a bit harder than Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. Happy 40 Charlie, Scott, Frank, and Joey!!! You guys deserve it. \m/
This was the best music documentary I've ever seen. Congrats Anthrax! Thanks for giving me a lifetime of amazing music.
Thank you, Anthrax for the 40 years of great music. You have been such a reference to me since fistful.
You blend the speed, the power and heaviness of Thrash with the melody, epicness (does this word exist) and class of traditional Heavy Metal like no other band ever did.
During that period between Fistful and Spreading I found the kind of music I wanted to do for the rest of my life. And here I am, still doing it.
Thank you for this series of videos. It has been such a blast! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Long live ANTHRAX! \m/
Every episode was great been a massive fan since the Among days! Got to meet Anthrax at Bloodstock - Hey Charlie Hope you enjoyed the Bonglizard comics! Forever CAUGHT IN MOSH!!!!
Frankie says thank you? No, thank YOU Anthrax!
All of these episodes need to be released on DVD & Blu-Ray!!!🤘🤘
Love this band. SOOOO under rated.
...and thank you for sharing this wonderful documentary series with us. It has been my favourite thing on RUclips these last three months. I haven't been around since the beginning, but I've been a fan for 34 years, and I'll be a fan for many years to come. To see and hear the band still at the top of their game in 2021 blows my mind.
I just want to say one more thing.
Pumpkins United ;)
you guys have been my favorite band since, Spreading the disease, Frank, even my violin work,is based on your bass lines, forever Nnot
This late in the game ; hearing that album for the first time brought tears to my eyes. I was 49 and the whole first play it was just a constant “FUCK YES”. To see and hear the passion these guys still have is such an inspiration. Thank you boys !!
Best lineup and best album, can’t wait for the next one, Anthrax can only get better 🤘
Frank is beastis Maximus, rare to pull that off nightly. Joey. Scott. That kinda effort and commitment is soooo rare
Great videos for a iconic band. Love em. Scott Ian seems like a super cool guy. All of em do. Glad I was around to watch them grow. I been a fan since madhouse.
Anthrax, the greatest of the great. Been with you guys since 86, happy 40th!!! Still among the living and going strong. The online show was awesome after I got it going, thank you, worth every penny. Want to see you at Rocklahoma, can't afford it right now but I will be there in spirit.
I absolutely love this documentary series, so many hours of entertainment.
Thanks for 40 years of THRASH METAL \m/ ANTHRAX forever \m/
Never stop touring guys.. I've been going to your shows in UK - 86-22 part of my life too
Congrats fellas, well done!!! Been a fan since the beginning and you are GETTING EVEN BETTER. That can’t be said for the other members of the Big 4. You’re doing NY proud but most of all, doing yourselves proud! Cheers to another 40!!!
Serious question: Did Charlie and Frank just decide sometime in the 90's to stop aging?
I know, right? Joey looks like he could be their dad.
@@badbirdkc 🤣🤣
Anthrax is the first of the big four and this series proves it!
Thanks for this great entertaining documentary, watched them all. Brought back some really good memories from the early days. Hope to see Anthrax up and running for manny years. Congrats with 40 years of really great music. Greetings from the Netherlands.
This series was fantastic. Also I only just noticed Charlie's blue meanie tattoo, that's awesome
Best part: Frankie's imitation of Paul Stanley...Lol... Cheers from Brazil!!!!
I am eternally grateful that I existed on this Earth at the same time these guys did. They are fucking awesome
Amazing series. Loved every second. And the love stream. My favourite band. All members contributed to something amazing that has touched my life from a very early age. Power hour on much music. Much love from Cape Breton Nova Scotia Canada. But why no greater of two evils?
I've loved Anthrax from the beginning! My entire adult life. They killed it at the big 4!
These guys made my growing up way easier. All hail!
They are Unironiclly and literally at the top of their game. A golden era.
K. K. Downing: "I won't name any of my favourites..." On account of not actually knowing any, lol 🤣
Much like your musical catalogue, this series has been a stupendous body of work guys. Sad it's over but looking forward to the future. MOSH!! 🤘
I’m calling myself somewhat of a late bloomer. Really got into Anthrax back in 2011 (I was 38) when “worship“ came out. I then revisited the 80s and 90s . Then “kings” came out and solidified this band as a favorite. Since Rush retired (RIP Professor), Anthrax and Volbeat have been my go to. Hope to see these guys on tour soon and looking forward to new work. Keep rocking gentlemen!
I can't be keen enough for the next album.
Standing ovation! \m/
This is my favorite Joey album. I play the CD alot. 🤘
Just binged watched every episode of this.. so awesome 🤘. Learned some things. About to go buy volume 8 album. I'm not sure how i didn't know dime was on that one
GOnna miss this every week, love you Anthrax
Will always love Anthrax and forever be a fan for life!! Great people, great songs, great memories, just overall AMAZING!!
Thank you for putting these videos out for us fans!! We love and appreciate them all!!
Thank you, Anthrax.
Man, this makes me pumped for new album news!! Love Anthrax!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
All-In Ian. No half measures, all or nothing, whatever cliche u prefer. Been raaaawkin w these lads since 1985, SLC. Seattle, London, NYC. Seen em all over the world in last 40 years, shitchaaa, I’m all torqued up watching this, a high no pharmaceutical can replicate and sustain. Trust me, I’ve tried, no molecule comes close
Scott’s introspection and honesty w his behavior is very impressive to me. It’s easier to say it’s the other guys fault and never take a hard painful look in the mirror. Ive become able to look in the mirror, and I’m still beating off to my Fabio poster.
I grew up in the 80's in a small town on the east coast of Canada where you couldn't get much of anything, let alone the Thrash Metal. I used to visit family in Toronto in the summers and purchase the Anthrax. I would spend hours walking around with STD in my walkman in 86, and Among in 87. Soundtrack to city life lol... Lots of great fun memories of good friends... and Anthrax on the horn. Cheers !!
I was introduced to Anthrax with I am the Man (I was in Grammar school) at a friends house who had an older metal head brother. On my way home, my Mom pulled into Bradlees, and I went to the tape section looking for the album, and saw State of Euphoria for $7.99 and I had $10 on me so I bought it. I whore that album (tape) out listening to it completely consumed by it! It was all metal after that....
Loved this series. What a great bunch of guys 🤩
best from 2016 alongside with terminal redux. both albums are so underrated for the masterpieces they're
This series was AMAZING! HAIL ANTHRAX FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
