iPod minis! Discussion, take-apart, and upgrades. Part 1!

Here we see a nice little group of iPod minis from both generations. Come with me on an adventure to see how to get into them (without iPod tools), how to fix them when you break them, how to flash mod them, and how to get them back together. This is a 2-part video because (spoiler alert) I ran into some trouble with the flash upgrade process and it derailed the whole thing, so I made a shorter second video that covers just the high-capacity flash upgrade procedures. Basically: it's a pain unless you're using a Mac. This video runs long because I figured someone out there would enjoy watching my torment. Also it illustrates the sort of things you'll run into if you do this yourself, things other mod videos may not mention or illustrate.
The Cheat "technical difficulties" screens are from Homestar Runner (homestarrunnerdotcom on RUclips). Go watch some of their content. It's hilarious even 20 years later, and I don't think the creators have been cancelled for anything yet. That has to count for something on the internet.
The David Bowie album cover is just there for a 5-second gag on the title. If it gets copystricken I'll just re-edit without it. Nothing much lost.
