just a thought... Smithing is NOT useless in f2p. After you get 99 it is in fact the best money maker (not ironman). I realize it is a grind but I'm currently at 92 smithing after less than a month in f2p and honestly smithing is a "bond manufacturing plant" of a skill (at 99).... Thanks for the vids keep it up
92 smithing in F2P is impressive man! I think I'm scarred from one of my early accounts when I tried to get to 99 and it seemed to take forever! (i was about 12 at the time so that's probably more the issues)... Power through to 99 brother!!
@@TheLumbridgeKnight f2p is definitely its own little game mode... I've essentially been f2p since 2005 since i started at the age of 7. I've played on members worlds and know a lot about member content through account sharing with family and youtube videos, however all my personal accounts throughout the years of playing have always been f2p. my rsn is Gravite 2h I'm a pure with 1 defence, so far I've gotten 99str, 99ranged, 99magic, but I wasn't satisfied with being a standard pk efficiency maxed pure... so I'm now on the journey to getting 99 attack, 99hp, 99 prayer to be the first fully maxed f2p 1 defence pure in osrs. currently at 67 attack and 66 prayer so I've got a long way to go lol. I also have a goal of getting 99 smithing in order to make more money... and although I have around 80m in my bank I still need alot more as my goal after maxing my account is to make 1b+ as an f2p player. I'm already 0.8/10 of the way there, so it's not that bad... or so I'd like to make myself believe. maybe the ultimate goal is to just get a maxed cash stack... also, Smithing is probably one of the fastest 99's in f2p... you can start getting up to 250k xp per hour once you can make adamant plate bodies, thats 2.5m xp in 10 hours... so... from 88 - 99 it's a walk in the park compared to other skills... I mean... 99 str took me close to 500 hours at flesh crawlers... I had to kill around 129k of them bastards lol 99 ranged was pretty tough aswell, but it was quicker than strength, 99 ranged can take between 280 - 450 hours depending on what arrows you choose to use. i trained mostly up to level 90 with bronze. and from 90 onwards I used a mixture of bronze and adamant arrows, so it probably took me in the region of 380 - 400 hours if I had to estimate. 99 magic was super fast, just high alch + falador teleport at the same time, it was around 1m xp every 10 hours. so about 130ish hours for 99
@@joeh858 You're wrong, I have done close to 8 hours of smithing and have level 74 smithing... exactly 1,097,102 experience which is a little over 1/13 of the way to 99. So times 8 hours by 13 and you have 103 hours to 99. but of course that's only counting from my current Level and Previous Level's limited experience as i've only gone from Iron, to Steel, To Mithril Platebody's and I will be on Mithril Platebody's until 88 Smithing... Once I move onto Adamant platebody's at 88 smithing, my XP per hour will go up even more, so it will likely be around 80 hours rather then the current estimate of 103.

Started again after 18 years. Old account got moved to RS3 so starting again on OSRS F2P. Hit base 50 on all combat. About to hit 40 prayer then gonna tackle F2P bosses (got 3 keys of each). Other than this I’ve been farming ogress warriors for ranged exp and loot for money. Not sure what else except members after this? Got yourself a sub I’ve learnt lots from you coming from a F2P player 🙏
Cheers for the sub scottjames55! I had the same issue, with my OG character being ported to RS3. I wish I could say there was more to do in F2P, but the truth is after you have done the bosses, you can do some castle wars, maybe some wildy stuff, but generally the F2P end game is just pure grind. I did a couple of videos, and one of the things I think they need to add back in/build up is a F2P end game. Remember when you could literally just PK in the wildy and that was all you did, ahh the glory days, I say that and I remember being rubbish and just getting killed loads 😅😂

Playing like 2 hours diary i get all my combat skills (included magic and ranged) to 70, the rest 60/70, after getting my own PC and some money to pay member, got a lot of skills to 99 really fast and got a lot of fun on member quest, sadly my acc got on RS3, now im playing again on osrs with 27 years, a wife and 2 cats playing all day because i work just weekends as a musician haha, i got a drop eye :') remembering old beautiful times
Good video. I just wanna point out a few things. Idk if someone else already pointed this out but Krystilia in the north Edgeville jail cell can set your respawn point to Edgeville. You need to pay one time fee of 5m gp. Also, I'm going for 1k total because of perm ironman. I know it's pointless to do that purely on f2p but that's my personal goal.
Hello hhhs3333! Thanks for the comment man! I think I was about 1k total when I moved my HCIM across to members to be fair 🤷🏻♂️ each to their own! I usually go for all quests completed and base 40 skills as my baseline. Switching respawn points is useful especially if you use dying as a way to fast travel! You can set it to the Ferox Enclave too I believe 👍👌
Bryophyta is pretty easy with range, the guide recommended 60 range but I found it comfortable (at least compared to obor) even with only 45 range (max hit difference of around 5-6). Of course you can still lose easily if you let your guard down and not kill the growthlings fast enough)

@@TheLumbridgeKnight yeah I had the full green d'hide with 40 prayer at the time. I did have a pretty high defense though which made the growthlings not hit too hard. Also with my range level so low I couldnt consistently one shot the growthlings which made it hard to keep prayer up if I wasn't flicking protect from magic. So for high ping areas I would still recommend higher range. I still haven't tried to do obor with protect from melee since I have very bad luck with giant keys, would very much like to see the differences.
New player here, learned 1 tick prayer flicking to farm Obor and Bryo using melee, damage immunity helps but you also get combat boosts, can run Bryo multiple times that way before having to resupply (around 60 base combat stats), strength potions also help and they are cheap, got super lucky and she dropped the essence on my 3rd run, sold it for 11M but it's still not enough for a bond which is now 14M lol. Think I'm gona just buy a bond, for example this essence farming would be multiple times faster with some of that p2p stuff, the amount of grind and luck required to get it through pure f2p is quite a lot Oh also with this flicking stuff I can farm moss keys in the wilderness while bringing just a rune scim and an amulet, that way I don't lose anything in case of a pk and it helps to run faster, and got used to flicking to the point I can do it without losing prayer while watching youtube lol
Hi taumil3239! Welcome to the game and congratulations! Getting the hang of prayer flicking can be a bit of a pain so that's awesome you have cracked it so quickly! Equally the essence dropping after 3 battles is so good luck! Just a shame bonds have become so expensive... In the past the essence would have got you the best part of 3 bonds... Not sure there's much of a hack to get 14M quickly atm either. Its an future video idea so maybe I'll give it a go! Its much easier to sustain a membership whilst being a member too! i prayer flicked the whole brophyta fight and managed to make it through ok. i used ranged as well makes it much easier as brophyta can only mage you. without prayer flicking i can see that fight being a lil tuff low stats.
Yo pin7541, yeah prayer flicking makes a huge difference, Ranged is definitely the way to go. I have tested trying to melee her and its a much more difficult fight, tanking it with your prayer on the whole time probably need a minimum of about 40 Prayer, unless you're lucky and she doesn't call the growthlings much. Returning player, and the best part of this video for me is the "4 mil bond prices/4.99" time capsule. Membership I believe is 8.99/month now, and bond prices are 11.5-12M gp 😂

If you don't want to grind magic, you can get 52 magic and use Wizards Mind Bomb's to boost to 55. They are very cheap if you only alch your rune drops.
To make your Obor trips easier take in runes for bind/snare to hold him in place if you use mage/range. -Knight, this is the first video of yours I have seen. You did amazing job with this f2p video. Keep up the great work, I’ll be eagerly waiting for new videos!

I can tell you myself! 😁 It’s the Cabbage Skill Cape 😅 it was a joke cape released for a past event. However, anyone can buy it from Diango in Draynor Village for 150 coins and it has the same stats as a standard cape but allows you to use the cabbage skill emote. 🤷🏻♂️ Hope that answered your question 👍👍👍😁😁😁
Today as bond used to be arouns 6.5mln week ago now we have 7-7.5mln and i even saw offers on ge tracker for 8mln so yeah always some member bilionares gonna flip bonds or raise prices if they only want to, chasing first bond to make 5 more in 2 weeks of member is worth it but it takes time so if u are chilly 2hours per day player either pay for bond venny/regular price or stay f2p and just skill enjoying game without "chasing bond" lifestyle :D
Yeah definitely chasing the bond price can be a drag... 😬😬😬 I'm working in both F2P & P2P for content and i won a stack of coins on my main, so i can afford a fair few bonds from that atm. Like you say i think chasing your 1st bond so you can try out membership and see if you like it is worthwhile. After that it is certainly much easier to pay for you bonds, as you level in P2P getting the money will become easier and easier in any case. Getting a character to end game should make bond finances much easier but getting to end game can take a good while depending how much time and skill you have! Hey, something i just found out recently myself is f2p bis boots are castlewars rewards. The only f2p boots with a str bonus. 400 tickets is a grind tho

I have my mains bank absolutely full since i was a member. Since running out of membership i decided im sticking with f2p until i either get 2 bryos essence or 2 pairs of those castlewars boots. 2 pairs, so i can put them in the bank and still take them out as a f2p scrub. When your banks full on f2p, those item place holders in your bank dont work anymore. I literally have 2 of every f2p item i could need so i dont have to resort to a hardcore iron playstyle. minus those 2 items and that mace you reminded me of with this video lol thanks for that btw 😅

Not a bad plan to save some money or bonds! Members is definitely quicker in a lot of aspects and definitely less grinding early on, but I think there’s something to be said for getting the most out of F2P. 🤔 Especially with your first OSRS character or if you have a specific goal.
Yo LondonSpade! Thanks for the comment man. 👍 Erm, it is a surprising pain in F2P. 🤔 Members hasn't been too bad in my experience as Wintertodt and some quests give you plenty of equipment and coin. Things like Runes and Arrows are quite annoying in F2P as Runecrafting is so unbelievably slow, and buying from vendors gets ridiculously expensive the more you buy in one time and they are usually more expensive than the GE anyway.
Mining rune in the wild is the best way to get a bond, needs 85 mining but power mining iron ore is the best XP for f2P AND P2P! so might as well get 85 now.
@@TheLumbridgeKnight about 15-30 mins depending on bots and pkers. Running from pkers is fairly easy in F2P, just have to be quick and have a plan. I recently did it to get 8m for bond, a few runs a day and you have a bond in a week. I was combat level 105 tho and could ignore some pkers, I have done it before at F2P stats and it's a bit more intense, still rarely died or wasted too much time running.
@@TheLumbridgeKnight you would be surprised at the LVL 126 pkers in F2P Wildy, they can't do shit tho with maple bow/adamant arrows, f2p makes it easy to get away.

86 str brio use bgs spec it first attack to lower def then just slaughter it lol. quickly normal hit the growthlings and secateur to go back for brio. nice and easy. over a mil easy in an hour
Not just bis, but the only strength bonus available at all from armor in f2p. Buuuuut it's only +1 strength so it isn't efficient to farm even if you're going 200m all melees. Still though, the drip!

Hello F2P Scaper 4 Lyfe, I definitely think OSRS F2P could do with a bit of an overhaul. If you look at the number of people on the worlds it's usually very low. I think you can't really go wrong bringing in more players, as the net result of more F2P players should be an increase in P2P players too? 🤔🤔🤔 Obviously Jagex need to make a profit so they need to be careful how they implement changes but I think adding a couple more bosses to F2P would be a great idea! Especially if they are already doing that in RS3, why not? Personally I'd Like to see a major update to Castle Wars for both F2P and P2P players, and while I'm on the subject some magic equipment upgrades would be nice. @@TheLumbridgeKnight some updates to castle wars would definitely be nice, and I agree, give f2p new BIS for magic equipment. I think they should give us Xerician Robes, or maybe even just allow the wizard boots and gloves to be made f2p. On the topic of adding things to f2p, I think they should also add an ice giant boss. I think that makes so much sense, we already have a moss and hill giant boss. And I think it would be easy to implement that into the game, there is already the Asgarnian ice dungeon that has ice giants. The unique drop from him could either be a new BIS melee/ranged weapon, and possibly an actual useful ring that F2P could use.
Maybe a wilderness boss would be good too, try to bring back some of the buzz in F2P wildy? I think F2P should be allowed skill capes too to be honest. If someone is willing to get to 99 in F2P they should be allowed to flex in the skill cape!
Sure, maybe a brand new F2P boss rather than existing members bosses. There’s always little incentive for the company to update F2P because…it’s F2P, they don’t make money from it.

Yeah that's a fair point on Bonds only being 14 not 16, bit of an oversite in the editing room on my part there. 👍 Ill make sure to mention in in the video description. On the point of the cost, the bond price isn't static its based on the game economy so it fluctuates. For example in Jan 2018 a Bond was only around 3mil. Technically at the time of recording/release (July 2021) a bond was about 4.8mil, however in Jan of this year Bonds were down as low as 4.3mil. You can check the price charts on the OSRS WIki pages: oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Old_school_bond Prices seem to be there lowest around the new year, but the general trend is upwards, so I don't think we will see a Bond price below 4.5mil anymore... 😢
With a lot of luck 😅🍀 I did about 10-15 vault runs in the Ruins of Camdozaal dungeon and one of the chest dropped an Addy kite... 1/800 chance I think probably easier to level up and farm Obor for a Rune one... that's like a 1/40 chance.
@@joeh858 Looking at OSRS Wiki it's the Greater Demons in the Slayer Cave that drop the Addy Kite, think you need to be a member to get in... In any case my HCIM will likely never venture into the wildy 🤣🤣🤣
@@TheLumbridgeKnight There are greater demons at the ruins all the way up north east. It looks like a ruined cathedral, and you can safe spot them. By the Annakarl teleport on the map. But there will definitely be the occasional PKers lol. Those new vile ashes are good for prayer too
A fair point sir! I'll add a correction in the description. I think the best in slot mistake is largely down to the effort needed to get 400 castle wars tickets for the Gold boots, but yeah... the cheapest only costs 4 tickets... 😅😅😅 It's no excuse, but I generally always move on to members, so I've not played that much castle wars as a pure F2P. I'm gutted with that mistake in the video though 😢😢😢 Thanks for pointing it out I'll definitely remember that point going forward 👍👍👍 shame I can't edit videos once they are published...
Ppl don't actually play castle wars anymore sadly. They just afk in the castle while 1 person on either team caps the standard. They should make everyone scale in castle wars like we do in LMS and then maybe people would play it.

Yeah unfortunately in F2P it can t be crafted. 😢 However, you can buy the legs and the vams in the Champions guild (south of Varrock), you’ll need 32 quest points to enter. And you can buy the chest from Oziach in the hut in Edgeville, you need to have completed Dragon Slayer 1 to buy from him (and to wear the chests), these are also the locations to get rune armour too. Alternatively if you are not playing as an ironman you can just buy everything at the Grand Exchange, but you will still need to complete DS1 to actually wear the chests! 👍👍👍 hope that helped and thanks again for the comment! 😁😁😁

@@TheLumbridgeKnight Yes, the memories. I was a bit of a trickster back in the day. Not going to lie, I lured kids into the wildy to kill them and steal their stuff. LOL There are more grinds in F2P not mentioned in your video but it's mostly about being creative. Such as the collection log and new combat achievements. Also it could be fun to kill 100 of every monster type, etc, invent your own content. Right now I'm killing body golems to finish the new mace, but going pretty dry on the kills. Then I'm going to move on to beginner clue casket stack about 250 of them at a time and hopefully complete the log. I've got my own fast method for clues and body tiara runecrafting.

I cant actually ever remember getting any great loot like... 🤣 The old item duplication trick used to make me laugh, drop your best item and then press Alt & F4 😂😂😂 Good Times!
@@TheLumbridgeKnight It's not really a secret but it would take quite awhile to type it out fully. Basically keep all teleport runes, the chronicle, skull scepter, Charlie the Tramp step skilling tools, the must be equipped items which can't be bought from shops plus a spade and strange device in your inventory. Then you kill minotaurs in the Stronghold of Security. They have a pretty good drop rate for the clues something crazy common. Plus all their loot is stackable items. The best part is the amount of bronze and iron arrows you'll stack up, as well as skull halves to recharge the imbued scepter. Then w runelite and eventually memorization guiding you around you can do probably around 10+ clues per hour.
Bryophyta is soooo much easier with range, 50 range 50 defence and she was dead, I barely had to eat. She doesn't move from the middle so aslong as you pray, mage or range (I can't quite recall) she doesn't really hurt you.

dont buy membership with a bond buy membership for a month or 2 then buy it with a bond specially when you get f2p out of the way so that gold transfers over better and your not starting out broke or what not

Actually, as a veteran, I would say that creating a F2P account is a breath of fresh air. Everything is simple and it's fun to achieve things without the over tuned members gear! 😁

I think getting God rune armor, and getting the golden decorative boots from castle wars are also good things to strive for in F2P. I would maybe add gilded d'hide vambraces, but those are worth almost two bonds. 😬

The effort to get a bond, especially atm is a lot, if you can afford it may as well just pay the £7 also once in members it’s much easier to make money so you can potentially self sustain from buying just a few bonds 🤔
This is true to an extent, they can make similar amounts of money and if you collect your own pizza basses then you're looking at about 600k an hour high end but you can hit right about 400k is you do the bank standing and make your own fires to cook swordfish. This stratige requires a high cooking level

just a thought... Smithing is NOT useless in f2p. After you get 99 it is in fact the best money maker (not ironman). I realize it is a grind but I'm currently at 92 smithing after less than a month in f2p and honestly smithing is a "bond manufacturing plant" of a skill (at 99).... Thanks for the vids keep it up

92 smithing in F2P is impressive man! I think I'm scarred from one of my early accounts when I tried to get to 99 and it seemed to take forever! (i was about 12 at the time so that's probably more the issues)... Power through to 99 brother!!

I'm a pure with 1 defence, so far I've gotten 99str, 99ranged, 99magic, but I wasn't satisfied with being a standard pk efficiency maxed pure... so I'm now on the journey to getting 99 attack, 99hp, 99 prayer to be the first fully maxed f2p 1 defence pure in osrs. currently at 67 attack and 66 prayer so I've got a long way to go lol. I also have a goal of getting 99 smithing in order to make more money... and although I have around 80m in my bank I still need alot more as my goal after maxing my account is to make 1b+ as an f2p player. I'm already 0.8/10 of the way there, so it's not that bad... or so I'd like to make myself believe. maybe the ultimate goal is to just get a maxed cash stack...
also, Smithing is probably one of the fastest 99's in f2p... you can start getting up to 250k xp per hour once you can make adamant plate bodies, thats 2.5m xp in 10 hours... so... from 88 - 99 it's a walk in the park compared to other skills...
I mean... 99 str took me close to 500 hours at flesh crawlers... I had to kill around 129k of them bastards lol
99 ranged was pretty tough aswell, but it was quicker than strength, 99 ranged can take between 280 - 450 hours depending on what arrows you choose to use. i trained mostly up to level 90 with bronze. and from 90 onwards I used a mixture of bronze and adamant arrows, so it probably took me in the region of 380 - 400 hours if I had to estimate.
99 magic was super fast, just high alch + falador teleport at the same time, it was around 1m xp every 10 hours. so about 130ish hours for 99
how 92 smithing in less than a month, lol if you do 8 hours a day you won't even get close
@@joeh858 You're wrong, I have done close to 8 hours of smithing and have level 74 smithing... exactly 1,097,102 experience which is a little over 1/13 of the way to 99.
So times 8 hours by 13 and you have 103 hours to 99. but of course that's only counting from my current Level and Previous Level's limited experience as i've only gone from Iron, to Steel, To Mithril Platebody's and I will be on Mithril Platebody's until 88 Smithing...
Once I move onto Adamant platebody's at 88 smithing, my XP per hour will go up even more, so it will likely be around 80 hours rather then the current estimate of 103.

Started again after 18 years. Old account got moved to RS3 so starting again on OSRS F2P.
Hit base 50 on all combat. About to hit 40 prayer then gonna tackle F2P bosses (got 3 keys of each). Other than this I’ve been farming ogress warriors for ranged exp and loot for money.
Not sure what else except members after this?

I wish I could say there was more to do in F2P, but the truth is after you have done the bosses, you can do some castle wars, maybe some wildy stuff, but generally the F2P end game is just pure grind. I did a couple of videos, and one of the things I think they need to add back in/build up is a F2P end game. Remember when you could literally just PK in the wildy and that was all you did, ahh the glory days, I say that and I remember being rubbish and just getting killed loads 😅😂

Playing like 2 hours diary i get all my combat skills (included magic and ranged) to 70, the rest 60/70, after getting my own PC and some money to pay member, got a lot of skills to 99 really fast and got a lot of fun on member quest, sadly my acc got on RS3, now im playing again on osrs with 27 years, a wife and 2 cats playing all day because i work just weekends as a musician haha, i got a drop eye :') remembering old beautiful times

Good video. I just wanna point out a few things. Idk if someone else already pointed this out but Krystilia in the north Edgeville jail cell can set your respawn point to Edgeville. You need to pay one time fee of 5m gp. Also, I'm going for 1k total because of perm ironman. I know it's pointless to do that purely on f2p but that's my personal goal.
Hello hhhs3333! Thanks for the comment man! I think I was about 1k total when I moved my HCIM across to members to be fair 🤷🏻♂️ each to their own! I usually go for all quests completed and base 40 skills as my baseline. Switching respawn points is useful especially if you use dying as a way to fast travel! You can set it to the Ferox Enclave too I believe 👍👌
Bryophyta is pretty easy with range, the guide recommended 60 range but I found it comfortable (at least compared to obor) even with only 45 range (max hit difference of around 5-6). Of course you can still lose easily if you let your guard down and not kill the growthlings fast enough)

Yeah I found Obor to be a strange battle hard to tell if protect from range or melee worked better against him. 🤔 Protect from range seemed to edge it 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks again man!
@@TheLumbridgeKnight yeah I had the full green d'hide with 40 prayer at the time. I did have a pretty high defense though which made the growthlings not hit too hard. Also with my range level so low I couldnt consistently one shot the growthlings which made it hard to keep prayer up if I wasn't flicking protect from magic. So for high ping areas I would still recommend higher range. I still haven't tried to do obor with protect from melee since I have very bad luck with giant keys, would very much like to see the differences.
Bryophyta is way way easier than obor, outside of extreme bad luck with growthling spawns
New player here, learned 1 tick prayer flicking to farm Obor and Bryo using melee, damage immunity helps but you also get combat boosts, can run Bryo multiple times that way before having to resupply (around 60 base combat stats), strength potions also help and they are cheap, got super lucky and she dropped the essence on my 3rd run, sold it for 11M but it's still not enough for a bond which is now 14M lol. Think I'm gona just buy a bond, for example this essence farming would be multiple times faster with some of that p2p stuff, the amount of grind and luck required to get it through pure f2p is quite a lot
Oh also with this flicking stuff I can farm moss keys in the wilderness while bringing just a rune scim and an amulet, that way I don't lose anything in case of a pk and it helps to run faster, and got used to flicking to the point I can do it without losing prayer while watching youtube lol
Hi taumil3239! Welcome to the game and congratulations! Getting the hang of prayer flicking can be a bit of a pain so that's awesome you have cracked it so quickly! Equally the essence dropping after 3 battles is so good luck! Just a shame bonds have become so expensive... In the past the essence would have got you the best part of 3 bonds... Not sure there's much of a hack to get 14M quickly atm either. Its an future video idea so maybe I'll give it a go! Its much easier to sustain a membership whilst being a member too! i prayer flicked the whole brophyta fight and managed to make it through ok. i used ranged as well makes it much easier as brophyta can only mage you. without prayer flicking i can see that fight being a lil tuff low stats.
Yo pin7541, yeah prayer flicking makes a huge difference, Ranged is definitely the way to go. I have tested trying to melee her and its a much more difficult fight, tanking it with your prayer on the whole time probably need a minimum of about 40 Prayer, unless you're lucky and she doesn't call the growthlings much. If you don't want to grind magic, you can get 52 magic and use Wizards Mind Bomb's to boost to 55. They are very cheap if you only alch your rune drops.

Today as bond used to be arouns 6.5mln week ago now we have 7-7.5mln and i even saw offers on ge tracker for 8mln so yeah always some member bilionares gonna flip bonds or raise prices if they only want to, chasing first bond to make 5 more in 2 weeks of member is worth it but it takes time so if u are chilly 2hours per day player either pay for bond venny/regular price or stay f2p and just skill enjoying game without "chasing bond" lifestyle :D
Yeah definitely chasing the bond price can be a drag... 😬😬😬 I'm working in both F2P & P2P for content and i won a stack of coins on my main, so i can afford a fair few bonds from that atm. Like you say i think chasing your 1st bond so you can try out membership and see if you like it is worthwhile. After that it is certainly much easier to pay for you bonds, as you level in P2P getting the money will become easier and easier in any case. Getting a character to end game should make bond finances much easier but getting to end game can take a good while depending how much time and skill you have! Nothing wrong with just skilling and chilling in F2P either!

When your banks full on f2p, those item place holders in your bank dont work anymore. I literally have 2 of every f2p item i could need so i dont have to resort to a hardcore iron playstyle. minus those 2 items and that mace you reminded me of with this video lol thanks for that btw 😅

Not a bad plan to save some money or bonds! Members is definitely quicker in a lot of aspects and definitely less grinding early on, but I think there’s something to be said for getting the most out of F2P. 🤔 Especially with your first OSRS character or if you have a specific goal.

Yo LondonSpade! Thanks for the comment man. 👍 Erm, it is a surprising pain in F2P. 🤔 Members hasn't been too bad in my experience as Wintertodt and some quests give you plenty of equipment and coin. Things like Runes and Arrows are quite annoying in F2P as Runecrafting is so unbelievably slow, and buying from vendors gets ridiculously expensive the more you buy in one time and they are usually more expensive than the GE anyway.

Mining rune in the wild is the best way to get a bond, needs 85 mining but power mining iron ore is the best XP for f2P AND P2P! so might as well get 85 now.

@@TheLumbridgeKnight about 15-30 mins depending on bots and pkers. Running from pkers is fairly easy in F2P, just have to be quick and have a plan.
I recently did it to get 8m for bond, a few runs a day and you have a bond in a week. I was combat level 105 tho and could ignore some pkers, I have done it before at F2P stats and it's a bit more intense, still rarely died or wasted too much time running.

86 str brio use bgs spec it first attack to lower def then just slaughter it lol. quickly normal hit the growthlings and secateur to go back for brio. nice and easy. over a mil easy in an hour

Not just bis, but the only strength bonus available at all from armor in f2p. Buuuuut it's only +1 strength so it isn't efficient to farm even if you're going 200m all melees. Still though, the drip!

Hello F2P Scaper 4 Lyfe, I definitely think OSRS F2P could do with a bit of an overhaul. If you look at the number of people on the worlds it's usually very low. I think you can't really go wrong bringing in more players, as the net result of more F2P players should be an increase in P2P players too? 🤔🤔🤔
Obviously Jagex need to make a profit so they need to be careful how they implement changes but I think adding a couple more bosses to F2P would be a great idea! Especially if they are already doing that in RS3, why not? Personally I'd Like to see a major update to Castle Wars for both F2P and P2P players, and while I'm on the subject some magic equipment upgrades would be nice. Currently the BIS magic items in F2P are terrible...

@@TheLumbridgeKnight some updates to castle wars would definitely be nice, and I agree, give f2p new BIS for magic equipment. I think they should give us Xerician Robes, or maybe even just allow the wizard boots and gloves to be made f2p.
On the topic of adding things to f2p, I think they should also add an ice giant boss. I think that makes so much sense, we already have a moss and hill giant boss. And I think it would be easy to implement that into the game, there is already the Asgarnian ice dungeon that has ice giants. The unique drop from him could either be a new BIS melee/ranged weapon, and possibly an actual useful ring that F2P could use.
Maybe a wilderness boss would be good too, try to bring back some of the buzz in F2P wildy? I think F2P should be allowed skill capes too to be honest. If someone is willing to get to 99 in F2P they should be allowed to flex in the skill cape!
I think they should maybe add a couple new bosses of some sort. If not those, then something.
Sure, maybe a brand new F2P boss rather than existing members bosses.
There’s always little incentive for the company to update F2P because…it’s F2P, they don’t make money from it.

Yeah that's a fair point on Bonds only being 14 not 16, bit of an oversite in the editing room on my part there. 👍 Ill make sure to mention in in the video description. On the point of the cost, the bond price isn't static its based on the game economy so it fluctuates. For example in Jan 2018 a Bond was only around 3mil. Technically at the time of recording/release (July 2021) a bond was about 4.8mil, however in Jan of this year Bonds were down as low as 4.3mil. You can check the price charts on the OSRS WIki pages: oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Old_school_bond
Prices seem to be there lowest around the new year, but the general trend is upwards, so I don't think we will see a Bond price below 4.5mil anymore... 😢
how do you get addy kite shield on f2p iron?
With a lot of luck 😅🍀 I did about 10-15 vault runs in the Ruins of Camdozaal dungeon and one of the chest dropped an Addy kite... 1/800 chance I think probably easier to level up and farm Obor for a Rune one... that's like a 1/40 chance.

A fair point sir! I'll add a correction in the description. I think the best in slot mistake is largely down to the effort needed to get 400 castle wars tickets for the Gold boots, but yeah... the cheapest only costs 4 tickets... 😅😅😅 It's no excuse, but I generally always move on to members, so I've not played that much castle wars as a pure F2P. I'm gutted with that mistake in the video though 😢😢😢 Thanks for pointing it out I'll definitely remember that point going forward 👍👍👍 shame I can't edit videos once they are published...
Ppl don't actually play castle wars anymore sadly. They just afk in the castle while 1 person on either team caps the standard. They should make everyone scale in castle wars like we do in LMS and then maybe people would play it.

Hello GG, thanks for the comment! Yeah unfortunately in F2P it can t be crafted. 😢 However, you can buy the legs and the vams in the Champions guild (south of Varrock), you’ll need 32 quest points to enter. And you can buy the chest from Oziach in the hut in Edgeville, you need to have completed Dragon Slayer 1 to buy from him (and to wear the chests), these are also the locations to get rune armour too. Alternatively if you are not playing as an ironman you can just buy everything at the Grand Exchange, but you will still need to complete DS1 to actually wear the chests! 👍👍👍 hope that helped and thanks again for the comment! 😁😁😁

There are more grinds in F2P not mentioned in your video but it's mostly about being creative. Such as the collection log and new combat achievements. Also it could be fun to kill 100 of every monster type, etc, invent your own content.
Right now I'm killing body golems to finish the new mace, but going pretty dry on the kills. Then I'm going to move on to beginner clue casket stack about 250 of them at a time and hopefully complete the log. I've got my own fast method for clues and body tiara runecrafting.

Yeah its definitely a point in the video that I could have included, setting your own targets is how you keep it going, like getting a Rune 2 Hander was always one of my biggest targets back in the day ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Basically keep
all teleport runes,
the chronicle,
skull scepter,
Charlie the Tramp step skilling tools,
the must be equipped items which can't be bought from shops
plus a spade and strange device in your inventory.
Then you kill
minotaurs in the Stronghold of Security.
They have a pretty good drop rate for the clues something crazy common. Plus all their loot is stackable items. The best part is the amount of bronze and iron arrows you'll stack up, as well as skull halves to recharge the imbued scepter.
Then w runelite and eventually memorization guiding you around you can do probably around 10+ clues per hour.
Bryophyta is soooo much easier with range, 50 range 50 defence and she was dead, I barely had to eat. She doesn't move from the middle so aslong as you pray, mage or range (I can't quite recall) she doesn't really hurt you.

dont buy membership with a bond buy membership for a month or 2 then buy it with a bond specially when you get f2p out of the way so that gold transfers over better and your not starting out broke or what not

This is true to an extent, they can make similar amounts of money and if you collect your own pizza basses then you're looking at about 600k an hour high end but you can hit right about 400k is you do the bank standing and make your own fires to cook swordfish. This stratige requires a high cooking level
