There are innumerable games where you can sink thousands upon thousands of hours into them and earn exactly nothing with tangible real world value. With RuneScape you might be able to sell a good account or high value item to someone for some quick cash, but you’ll never recoup your time investment, so I think it’s a waste of time to look at RuneScape as something that is worth investing money in. I don't know if this is brought up later but I believe you can buy gold bars off the GE and make gold amulets for a profit while also training crafting. For F2P players that don't know, crafting plays a major role in making slayer items which make slayer training, combat training, and coin making significantly more effcient as slayer is one of the most effective way to train all forms of combat and turn a profit.
On a brand new account just spend all your GP on gold bars and craft them into gold amulets to 99 Crafting while doing stuff on your main or other account you are training. Goblin Diplomacy and Sheep Shearer will get you to 5 crafting to start at rings, then necklaces at 6 and amulets at 8. It would be around 19-20M profit going all the way to 99, or you can stop at 4M+ for the bond. For starter cash to buy gold bars a new account can just loot addy arrows at GE on a PVP world to like 50K - 100K and keep spending your entire cash stacks on gold bars and repeat after selling gold amulets. They just need 7 quest points to gain full access to the GE within the first 24 hours of the account. Can do this with Cook's Assistant (1), Sheep Shearer (1), and Romeo Juliet (5) and then get the buyables for Goblin Diplomacy (5) on GE to get 5 crafting after Sheep Shearer.

Good video, but I would always recommend for people to immediately go to the magic tutor and drop their air and mind runes, collect 30 from her, then train their mage as high as they can with the free runes they can collect every 30 minutes as they progress to 15 mining and 9-13 mage. Reason being is so they can beat VAMPIRE SLAYER and DORIC'S QUEST. An immediate 20 attack and some bonus mining xp for free with little time spent will save you so much time leveling up your other skills, and make killing cows much faster. If youre selling iron ore in bulk put it in overnight for 10gp over the average price and it will sell. Might take an extra day but as long as you're not in a rush for money you can make srs bank. Rich people will put in high offers all the time because they don't care about the low cost of a good smithing exp item.

Thank you so much for adding this beautiful piece of content! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to cast wind strike on a caged lesser demon a few thousand more times.
dude this series is actually what gets me into rs and makes me understand it. cuz ive heard alot of good things about it but i never really got it. im giving it a go now
Bonds are kind of insidious if you think about it. Like, yeah it means you can technically play the full game for "free", but you're spending way more time overall just trying to maintain the bond because they're only 2 weeks long. Sure you could technically get the first bond and use members moneymaking to preserve the membership, but you're still grinding to maintain it and overall slowing down your progress. It really only makes sense to keep an account up with bonds if the gold is trivial to you (which to be honest, will only be true if you're a maestro at the GE or have already done most of the content in the game already) The cost of membership is literally trivial compared to the time wasted maintaining a bond. Of course maybe I'm just detached because I make enough for a runescape membership in literally 30 minutes but still. A minimum wage job will pay for a runescape membership in 2 hours, and then you can focus on having fun with the game instead of trying to fool yourself into thinking you're getting one up on jagex. Ofc i guess it always makes for a fun video series.
It's a trade-off for sure, but it's not impossible. You won't get a massive bank, but as long as you do things that can get you money, you'll have no problem keeping the membership. The problem with bonds is that they will keep increasing in price, making it increasingly more difficult for F2P players to get the money for them.
bonds are totally fine, it enables people who seriously can't justify dropping like ten to fifteen dollars on a membership fee, the ability to pay by playing the game. you're probably young so you don't know, but there are a lot of people in the western world who need that eleven (or so) dollars per month, but have a lot of time available to play games they want.
Oxide AOTL As a student, the money is worth a lot for me. Of course, I can affort eating at a restaurant a few times a month, so I'm quite well off for a student, but that's because I'm otherwise frugal. I chose the most cost effective option for living, without sacrificing too much, I cook food in batches to prevent buying expensive fast food. A lot of those things, to afford what I want to do. I am one of the lucky ones. Unemployed people deal with similar things I should add.
Great vid, im excited to watch this series, however you never really touched on how long you spent doing each task. It would have been nice if you gave a bit of a run down on about how long you trained each skill/did each money making method.
people saying this isn't worth the time: no, it isn't if your goal is to simply get membership as fast as possible. This IS however a goal in itself (to get members without paying) it can feel like a real accomplishment. you are also playing the game you would be presumably playing anyways, so its fun tohave a greater goal for your f2p character
Since November 2018, weeks after this video, furnace in Edgeville is open for all free to play players, and it is closer to the bank than the one in Al Kharid.
No disrespect but there is no “easyscaping” in this video, and I would not recommend trying to raise money for a bond in free to play to anyone. Do quests in free to play, learn the game and do what is fun. These methods you show are 10-100k an hour and extremely tedious, which is no way for players to be introduced to Oldschool. You make them look easy, but doing these things for 30+ hours just for people to make it to the main game (members) detour so many new people from actually playing the game. Mow your parents lawn, or spend some birthday/Christmas money on a months membership so that you can play in members and then earn money there for your next bond. I really don’t mean to be rude but suggesting that people earn a bond in free to play competing against bots and sucking all of the fun out of the game is no good, especially when you can make 300k-2000k an hour in members.
I'm pretty sure Dicerz plans to just make enough for a single F2P bond and also level stats to the point where it is possible to self-sustain a member account just from bonds.
Also i never suggest people to make money in F2P instead of just buying membership. If people have the money to buy a bond or a subscription they absolutely should if they enjoy the game. But a lot of people play F2P and don't want to/cant spend IRL money on the game or aren't willing to make the commitment due to only playing every now and then or wanting to see if they enjoy it first. The video literally just shows how people can level their stats in F2P while making some cash towards a future bond, or at least that is what i attempted to get across.
Fair enough :) The idea of walking to bank that 1k copper/tin made me cringe. Just as some constructive criticism, I would suggest adding how long each of those feats will take. The video had really clean editing and looked good/ was an enjoyable to watch. However looking at this video as someone who does not know much about runescape you made it all look much quicker than it really is. I really don’t think that there is a human being on this planet who can’t afford a one time $11 payment, who can also afford to spend 40 hour playing a video game. Once you spend the gp made for that bond, poof 40 hrs gone and you are left with nothing but an empty bank and low xp rates. And then you are burnt out from grinding free to play, don’t play enough as a member to renew your membership, and are forced back to free to play next month. I get not wanting to spend the money, my main argument is that players should have fun in ftp not grind ineffective gp. Sorry for carrying this out, not trying to be negative.
I disagree. New players should be introduced to the grindy parts of the game, it will be about 80% of their playtime anyway if they want to max. I remember that I made my first bond in f2p and it felt amazing. Finding hidden money makers is honestly so rewarding, I remember telling my friends to wait for me because I gotta finish my hourly grind of the day that I set out for myself and it actually made me 200-250k gp/h. When I was doing some afking, I cut yews for profit, which added up; I didn't feel pressured to play and I could watch movies (just like in members when skilling). Looking forward to buying my first bond and researching the game before doing so and not wasting any playtime made me feel so efficient. I immidiately got into mlm, got 50 mining, got ice gloves, coal bag, went to the blast furnace, got 400k gp/h with steel bars, then when I felt safe I did some questing for herb runs. Farming ranarrs can singlehandedly pay for a bond if you're consistent. I gotta say, the bond prices were around 3.1 mil if i recall correctly, so it was about 25% easier than today.
I got my first bond(15.7m) in 10 days from a fresh acc on rs3 and didnt maintain it due to real world obligations but it's really quite possible to do so. I didn't do much combat but alot of trading really with smithing weaved into it alongside crafting. Do your best guys :3
Here's some tips to those who want to train woodcutting before getting membership. Selling logs and oak logs, if you don't mind not training firemaking for a while, can give a nice amount of coin. Members often get these logs even after having higher woodcutting and firemaking skills due to planks and oak planks being important items. Oak logs don't sell as often, but they are usually higher priced than logs. They can be something plays can leave in the GE to sell overnight. Falador's east bank can be a good spot for oak trees, but they may have the occasional bot. Varrock's East Bank doesn't have it's oak trees nearly as close, but the distance is not very far either. They're just outside the city's east exit. Last thing I want to mention. This may change in the future, but Bonds are often at their cheapest prices on Sunday and about half of the time on Wednesday. Good luck and keep those axes sharp.
Dicerz - I heard about it from a friend when he was getting me back from Runescape. I only bought two bonds so far and one of them was overnight, but I did get those bonds at their cheapest market prices. I suspect the price drops due to people buying so many bonds on Friday and Saturday in order to begin their weekend of earning money/messing around in OSRS' Member Worlds. If they're busy in the weekdays (I.E. due to school), then they probably want to make sure they don't have to wait until next weekend to use the bond. I have no way to confirm this though.
Dude, if you let the bronze sit at its normal price, it sells in an hour or two. Currently smelting bronze all the way to 99, the current influx of the cost of the bars is making me mad rich.
@@markmarktinez78 I log off for a few hours and come back to have them sold. I stopped for now cause bronze bars aren't nearly as good profit if you buy the ore like I do, still decent profit though, just not enough to keep at it.

i can't watch this cause i'm in class but I'm here to say that thumbnail was bomb, 11/11
Stalagmites stick up from the ground, the "M" looked like the stalagmite. Stalagtites hang from the ceiling, the "t" looks like the stalagtite.
You should show playtime on the account in lumbridge at the end of each video.
Nice Vid!
Dude, what a fantastic guide! Clear, exactly as long as it needed to be, very explicit instructions, and even helpful tips for complete noobs like me. Thank you so much for adding this beautiful piece of content! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to cast wind strike on a caged lesser demon a few thousand more times.
Cya there, ill be with master wizard and tickling his chicken
dude this series is actually what gets me into rs and makes me understand it. cuz ive heard alot of good things about it but i never really got it. im giving it a go now
Did u got into it lol
That music will always be so powerful haha
Unemployed people deal with similar things I should add.
thanks for this video, just starting off in OSRS. Working towards a bond.
Great vid, im excited to watch this series, however you never really touched on how long you spent doing each task. It would have been nice if you gave a bit of a run down on about how long you trained each skill/did each money making method.
I had the same idea, he prob spent a ton of time doing it. It would make his video look bad if he did show it took 3 4 hrs to make 133k
@@rockbandftmfw9 I mean, it wouldn't make him "look bad". Regardless of time the numbers he put up a pretty impressive for a starter f2p account
little advice for those that want to do this - if you want to farm cowhides, slay cows in the pen below falador, its closer to a bank!
I did rings for a really long time when I did my F2P to bond test of torture.
Remember that's also how I made my first mil in 2008, again all in F2P
nice
I touch crafting in the next one :))
I touch myself to this one ;))
Zamininc I just buy a Small loan of a million dollar. Lol
Amazing video as always dicerz. Great stuff. You're my favourite runescape youtuber. This will help GREATLY when osrs goes mobile on 30th october.
Damn those are a lot of venezuelan miners 0.0
*bots
Some are real people trying to make gold to sell gold, venezuelan inflation means people can make a better living farming gold
@@joeytansey8466 I'm venezuelan and i've met people who lives of osrs lol
@Rock Golem I'd wish it was that easy, man
people saying this isn't worth the time: no, it isn't if your goal is to simply get membership as fast as possible. This IS however a goal in itself (to get members without paying) it can feel like a real accomplishment.
you are also playing the game you would be presumably playing anyways, so its fun tohave a greater goal for your f2p character
People who say this is a waste of time are the same people who stand at the GE flexing their dragon armor and untrimmed cooking cape.
why does your game look so smooth, with animations and such?

Jammy Jam is right
Also i never suggest people to make money in F2P instead of just buying membership.
I've got no clue why I'm even watching this. I've got a main that's member and no f2p alt..
same here and ive never even played runescape
Same here, I don’t even own a phone or computer
Thanks for the comment mate, How do you know about the bond price on sunday and why do you think that is?
Dicerz - I heard about it from a friend when he was getting me back from Runescape. I only bought two bonds so far and one of them was overnight, but I did get those bonds at their cheapest market prices. I suspect the price drops due to people buying so many bonds on Friday and Saturday in order to begin their weekend of earning money/messing around in OSRS' Member Worlds. If they're busy in the weekdays (I.E. due to school), then they probably want to make sure they don't have to wait until next weekend to use the bond. I have no way to confirm this though.
i just do MEINENG to get 10k iron ore sell it and get a bond
Smith the Iron into bars. Then when you can Smith steel buy all the coal but mine the Iron ore. Boom over 2mill easy.
with the amount of time it took you to get 10k iron, why not get a part time job. work for 1 hour, and buy a membership?
because he is 6 years old prob
@@ShyGuyFTW Are you assuming that anyone who does not pay for membership does not have a job?

Dude, if you let the bronze sit at its normal price, it sells in an hour or two. Currently smelting bronze all the way to 99, the current influx of the cost of the bars is making me mad rich.
How long did it take to actually sell? im impatient and dont have money until my 101 Bronze Bars sell lol
@@markmarktinez78 I log off for a few hours and come back to have them sold. I stopped for now cause bronze bars aren't nearly as good profit if you buy the ore like I do, still decent profit though, just not enough to keep at it.
Love to see an updated version of this since there's a lot of "well bond worth more now duh" arguments as well as the trade restrictions
Ok but why are so many people in the grand exchange buying bronze bars?
Lol I was thinking the same thing

I love that your sub clip is 30,000 subs behind. Nice growth!

I cant stand that animation smoothing setting. Adding more frames to robot like movements just makes it look even more like a robot.

Something I just realized, having for the first time in a decade of playing the game done anything substantial with magic. They needed the zammy wines. The monks now notice when you Telegrab and you get a debuff on you combat stats of 3 when you get hit. You can avoid most of it but you still have to wait for a bit if you are just level 33.
Good luck fighting Venuzalens to the death over zammy wines
lmao I'm hoping the 500 total level thing isn't full cause i just slaved in f2p to get 500 total
Dicerz I was hoping that too, I was very disappointed. I play aussie world's in aussie hours and 96% of them are full. Pvp worlds are empty though . F2p for life
haha damn I'll try it out i was kind of betting on wines to finish my 4m grind in episode 3!
Dicerz would love for you to show how many hours it took at the end of it. Ive been thinking to try grind to get tomembers, but I work so can't play much. idk what to do once I'm there as well

Hey Dicerz what pc do you use? Any decent pc suggestions for osrs content creation?
I had a terrible old crappy PC until recently. You can do it on almost anything.

Iron ore doesn't worth anything anymore :(
Yeah i have a mining of 50 and i can’t do shit now because iron ore is just so cheap nowadays. So not the best moneymaker anymore sadly.
This was the first RS video I remember watching. Thank you for the guide :)
Glad I could help!
Just kill wizards in wizards tower for their robe tops. They're like 2.5k each and its never crowded!
Not that hard. Wizards are lvl 7 but they hit often. Just bring food. They don't hit that high though.
Its an uncommon drop. You can check OSRS wiki to confirm. Actually the robe tops are 3k each!
Same with ham guards!
Bout 5 minutes in and this is such an awesome video bro. Osrs will always hold a place in my heart . Brings my back to my childhood days before you get hit with life lol. I still play sometimes I love that they have mobile available it runs so smooth on my iPhone
