Re: Rune and Pure Essence. Pure Essence typically is cheaper on the GE, so if you're not an Ironman, it's usually worth taking any Rune Essence you mine, selling it on the GE, and then using that money to buy a larger amount of Pure Essence. More essence, but same value, so it doesn't cost a thing!
I know GE rates fluctuate, but I'm about to start crafting runes to gain some exp whilst stocking up for magic levelling. If this is still true, you're about to help me out BIG TIME ❤❤
For Ironmen, it's important to not do Rune Mysteries and collect as many Air Talismans as you can from the Duke with the drop trick, because EHP wise between mining pure essence and all the other methods, the fastest way to 99RC is still through Air tiaras, so if you wanna be efficient doing Rune Mysteries right away locks you out of best method to 99. Also important is to bring along Tiaras + Air Talismans on your way back from the bank to the crafting guild, most of the 99 Runecrafting grind can be efficiently halved by using the walks from the Falador Bank to the Crafting Guild to mine Silver Ore as double to stop by the Air altar and making a bag of Air Tiaras (and dropping them afterwards). This can be easily maintained, because you bring 14 Tiaras, but on your way back you bring 28 Silver Ore ready to be turned into Tiaras. So for as long as you get yourself a stock of 1000 Tiaras or something, you will effectively get 2k Silver Ore back, ready to be turned into 2k Tiaras, and it doubles every time you run out of Tiaras. I am saying this with already 99 Ranged and 90atk/str/def on my F2P IM, and the biggest regret I have is learning about Air Talismans after I was 1200hours into my F2P IM with Dragon Slayer already finished. With that said, I already have roughly 1mil exp collected in Body Cores and Rune Essence combined. It's quite annoying, there's no going back, but at least I can treat it as a long term project, rather than key smashing my way to 99 RC. Also it's not that bad, since taking a different route to 99 RC means my Crafting grind gets slightly sped up through gems and jewelry rather than Tiaras. Thankfully it's not a double punishment.
Yo OnFight1997! Thanks for the detailed comment and explanation dude! That’s some really great advice 😁👍 I tend to prefer the body core method for my HCIM as I don’t like making air tiaras for some reason 😅 I’ll definitely make sure to emphasis this part of the video a bit more to make ironmen aware 😁 thanks again for leaving such a detailed and informative comment 👍👍👍
good tip: when u do rune mysteries u can drop the air talisman and ask the duke for another because you ''lost it'' :D i did this on my alt and got 14 talismans. then mined essence till i had enough mining for silver. got the mould in alkaharid. made the 14 tiara. went back to lumbridge. talked to count and headed to falador. made 14 air tiara and was like lvl 5 instantly. also made a few air runes.
A great way for uim to get rune essence is to grind killing flawed golems under ice mountain. You get noted essence which only take one slot. Save up in note form.
I see an opportunity to mix crafting and smithing in by crafting the silver tiaras yourself. 20 mining, 20 smithing, and 23 crafting aren't very high requirements, and you could subsidize a lot of the costs that way while gaining XP in those skills. I'm not sure if it's worth the time, but hey. If you want XP in those other skills it might be worth dabbling in. Edit: I just ran some math, and you can hit 99 crafting off of two thirds of the tiaras necessary for the fast GE XP method. Insane isn't it. A bit more math crunching and making the 347,585 tiaras needed would take just over 15 days worth of buying silver ores and bars off the GE and cost and could save you around 24.3m depending on market prices. Hell, I might do it just do the tiara crafting to make a tidy profit of around 80 coins per ore and 40 coins per bar on my way to 99 crafting. I'm sure there are better or faster ways to do it, but hey. Fun idea isn't it?
Yo millenium1109! Yeah that could be a good method, I think buying the silver from the GE would be the way to go for sure as mining all the silver yourself will take a very long time! Plus making all those Tiaras sets you up for Runecrafting! I think most of my guides I’ve tried to find the most efficient path for that particular skill, the flaw in this logic is that I don’t always take account of the overall XP, like if you’re doing a couple of skills at the same time you might be able to generate a high overall combined XP or like you say prep for training another skill with what you are making for one. I think what you’re suggesting makes sense 👌 hopefully it works out for your skilling! Thanks again for the comment 😁😁👍👍
@@TheLumbridgeKnight Yea, one of the things I love about OSRS is how all the skills link together, and how the pursuit of maxing out one skill can benefit from other skills or advance secondary skills. I actually started Runecrafting a bit, boosting my start with the 300 XP lamp from X marks the Spot and then dumping my mind cores from the Mind Golems in the Ruins of Camdozaal. The ruins have a bank that made crafting the mind runes very fast, and it got me to level 17 very quickly. I plan on farming more Mind Cores to hit 20 RC before hitting up the Body Golems for their cores and gems. A great secondary benefit of farming the golems is the uncut gem and iron ore drops that you get while farming their cores. It's great combat XP and can lead into great Crafting and Runecrafting XP. The golems also drop a lot of beginner clues, which might get you something good along the way and encourages you to take breaks during the grind, which can be good for your sanity XD Edit: I checked the map and the body altar is decently close to the Ruins, so I might see whether it's faster to run from there or Varrok's West Bank.
Yeah a few people have commented saying mind golems are a good call and I completely overlooked them! Not sure which is faster but I recon go from Edgeville bank not Varrock west. Think mind runes might be faster though tbh!
If you're not a UIM I recommend doing minataurs for ess and bone fragments, instead of mining it. Also if you want to do rc/smith/mining/craft together don't complete rune mysteries, you're going to want to do suicide air tiaras.

I think Irons more fun tbh, but depends on your playstyle, some UIM methods are really enjoyable, but the toughest part about it is pathing, and patience because you don't want to waste your inv space holding random things, so sometimes starting a grind means committing to it for a while, as well as committing to about grind after to use up your supplies. Yeah! I realised as soon as I posted this that I messed that up 😢😢😅😅
Jeez, I can't imagine actually doing this LOL
It’s a tough grind for sure man…
Just buy a bond and grind in p2p 😂
That is a much quicker option 😅😂 Probably what I’d do 😂
