Kat now qualifies as a scream queen
Definitely😊
Kat really needs to be cast in a horror flick.
Squeal Queen?
*FULLY* one of the girls! Jenna Ortega & Mia Goth need to take notes!
Speaking of Scream Queens, she's gotta watch that show if she hasn't!
9:59 “nothing bad better not happen to him” famous last words 😂
I winced at that😅
Yes! That was the longest two weeks that's ever existed in the history of two weeks! Glad to see you back, Kat! And I can't wait to watch this later tonight after work.
HAHAHA AGREED!! And I held my breath the whole time. Thank you for your patience!!! KAT:D
@@KatWatchesHorror be kind to yourself! rest up and enjoy your life. "your health is your wealth" - Floyd Mayweather Jr, greatest boxer ever. first and billionaire boxer.
20:38 "so your girlfriend _does_ make you soft, is what you're saying"
That was brutal Kat 😂. Highlight of this whole reaction for me!
FYI Riley's mom is played by Miranda Otto who played Eowyn in the Lord of the Rings films.
AND was in the recently watched by Kat film What Lies Beneath, as the wife of the young couple that lived next door.
And she is one of the aunts in Sabrina
oh yeah, i thought it was Lilly Potter
Loved her! She was also great in Homeland.
Can we just appreciate kat going into protective mode and being pissed at everyone in the party for not protecting each other. Wee sweetheart ❤
"He's a nice boy. Nothing bad better ever happen to him". Yeah...about that...
I like that you caught where the ghost pretending to be Mia's mom overplayed her hand.
Yes she’s back!!! 👏👏👏👏

It's so fun rewatching movies through someone else's view point!
Yay!! I’m so happy you feel that way… this one was a RIDE. Thank you for being here!! Kat:D
"This mom is intense"
Well I mean she slayed the Witch-king of Angmar so
Imagine not being subscribed to Kat in 2024.
HAHAHA YEEEESSS!!!! THIS!!!!!!! Thank you for watching!!! KAT:D
Imagine imagining
That’s the real horror.
I think at the end Mia realized she was being tricked that’s why she let go. But Riley’s sister didn’t know and that’s why she pushed her to save him. The evil Spirit made sure they were both in a situation where even if they didn’t get Riley, they’d be able to get Mia instead
Exactly! This is exactly what I think too!
Oh wow, I always assumed Mia jumped to stop herself from hurting him or to sacrifice herself. But it makes sense that the sister pushed her....now I'm not sure what happened!
@@jennaharris2721 yea I thought she jumped at first too but when you watch the clip slowly you can see the sister run up behind Mia and push
@@aubrey8673 Yeah! The directors themselves said to go to the scene and watch frame by frame. We did, and you can clearly see the sister swoop in behind Mia and shove her. It's fast, but it's there. If you think about it, it's not a happy movie. The spirits are evil, and don't play around. I don't think that some girl who is already so troubled would suddenly be able to defeat this huge entity and stop to kill herself.
@@ssicamon1927 yea you so right and it actually makes me wonder about something. We see that Mia ends up in this spirit realm and she is not an evil spirit like the others. So I have to wonder if the spirits that end up here are not all bad, but by being stuck in this spiritual realm for so long it ends up driving them to insanity and developing evil tendencies
If i was at that party & seen that hand & I'd been "goodnight & good luck all I'm outta here" 😂😂😂
Brilliant reactions Kat your so charming, witty & national treasure.
Yeah , i'd nope out immediately and make any excuse i had to , to make my friend/loved one come with me, if they were there.

I'd want to see how it reacted to salt, silver and iron. A cross, a star of David, a pentacle. Go home and get my ankh to try that too. Hen's eggs, rice. Every protective substance and warding symbol I can think of.
I would of been like Benny when they were about to open the box that had the book of the dead in it 😂
Ngl, I'd prolly try it once 😂. As a nonbeliever, it'd be kinda chill to get proven wrong
I really hope one day someone create a compilation of all the "Thats the real horror of this movie" i love it so much lol
If you have a shirt that says “no please” I promise I will definitely purchase it and wear it out and get you more subscribers 😉
The actor who played the little brother is SUCH a good actor he freaked me out. No wonder he was nominated for many best youth actor rewards.
A couple of RUclipsrs made this on a $4.5 million dollar budget and it made $92 million dollars at the box office.
A sequel is in development.
I thought it was going to be a prequel about Ducken.
@@JeshuaSquirrel they've announced both
@@JeshuaSquirrelso they actually filmed some extra scenes while filming the first film to what would be used as a potential prequel. They were hoping to pull a Ti West-X/Pearl scenario, sort of.
Soon after they mentioned that in one of their interviews, it was then announced that they'd been greenlit for funding of a sequel on top of all that.
So it really could turn into a Ti West-esque scenario, where instead of X/Pearl/MAXXXINE we'll get Talk to Me/Unnamed Prequel/Talk 2 Me
I like the title Talk to the Hand
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 As long as they don't name it Talk 2 Me.
Important to note that A24 only distributed this movie, they had no part in it's actual creation! But I love Talk To Me, to me it really showcases Australia and our film industry. I feel like a lot of films made here aren't necessarily set here - I mean, we've had Marvel movies, we had parts of Pirates of the Caribbean, Kong: Skull Island, 2005's House of Wax, and so many others. But when you think Australian films, people tend to think more outback and crocodiles. The amount of people that have watched this film and only realised it was Australian when the kangaroo first turns up, but as an Australian, there's little bits of dialogue and mannerisms that I see and go "hey, that's us!". Naturally it also showcases our actors, both well known like Miranda Otto and those on the rise like Sophie Wilde (and Joe Bird - buddy earned his paycheck!). The fact that the directors started out as youtubers too? There's so many amazing shots and transitions and I could wax lyrical about it all day. A brilliant movie with meaning beyond the screams (grief, addiction, peer pressure) and plenty of fright to go around!
Oz also has some great TV shows. Glitch was a pretty neat series.
You're back with one of my favorites. Love this for us!

8:31 Axolotl. Cuties. They remain with gills unless you give them land. If they can crawl up on land they lose gills and develop lungs and become land dwelling. If not… they stay water dwelling.
The ending of this movie is absolutely fantastic. Such a great premise too.

IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK!! Thank you for your patience!!!!! KAT:D
You may not have been looking forward to seeing this, but I was! It seemed like forever for this upload to happen, but I'm so glad it did!
Speaking of peer pressure, I was with a group of hipsters the other day and one of them said to me, "Come on man, nobody's doing it!"
❤ I love you, Kat!
U should watch night of the demons 1 and 2 and hellraiser 1,2,3, 4 and candyman.
"...with his applesauce." Hilarious! You're right though, terrific writing. Rare sometimes in horror. Be sure to add 'Jacobs Ladder's to your list. Another well written horror piece.
I saw this joint in the theater and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I couldn’t help but notice how much they treated the concept like drugs, specifically heroin and the damage it does. It’s a really unique take.
Your reaction was Fantastic! I could see you were sometimes scared, but I could see that you also really enjoyed it. I love your line about the candle "..you couldn't put on a side table with his apple sauce!.." it made me laugh out loud.
The directors of the movie talked about the hand representing drugs and peer pressure and how people give into soo easily and abuse it to the point where it’s no longer fun because someone gets hurt or killed, which is what exactly happened to Riley.
The thing that’s hard to pick up on the first time watching is that, it was Mia’s mom in Riley at first. But because Mia went over 90 seconds, she still had the spirit from hers inside her. And the moment she took Riley’s hand, the spirit in Mia took over Riley too because she was touching both the hand and Riley’s hand. Mia believed she was always seeing her mom, UNTIL she had Riley above the highway. When she heard her say “he’ll be with us, forever” she knew. Which is why she threw herself on the highway instead
Very observant of your Kat not just a pretty face. This movie is actually about mental illness and peer pressure through the lens of horror. Not many people get that.
Had me laughing so hard trying to remember what an axolotl was.
And the hand flailing was on point…. like…
What.
The.
Actual.
Heck.
They're actually selling these hands on some sites 👀 (they're not cheap) Couldn't Give Me One For Free 😳 hellz nahh !
Ima need to pass on that purchase ! hahahahaaa
Great movie. Love how in the end it shows the bloated woman was actually the fake mom the whole time. Staying over 90 seconds the bloated woman “stayed” with her. I imagine since she kept using the hand it gave the bloated woman strength to stay. And how she was SO desperate for Mia to kill Riley before his possession wore off so they could keep him.
That makes sense. I was like "How does she keep seeing her mom?" Makes more sense it was the bloated woman, since they had to fight to get the hand back from Mia and we see someone near Riley when he sleeps next to her. It makes more sense that she was possessed the whole time.
Biggest issue Mia had was her inability to admit that some things she couldn't fix. She believed her mother would never kill herself even though her dad gave her proof and her guilt over Riley's possession made her try to find some way to save him, even though Ducats brother told her the truth, that she didn't need to do anything, that the spirit would have to leave soon(and most likely, that's why the bloated woman was so desperate to get her to kill Riley).
@@phousefilms yup that’s it exactly. Mia should have just gone with the first old dude.
This is one of the best movies to rewatch knowing everything because you catch all these tiny things that seem like nothing at the time.
Is it just me being a twat or is there not a single likeable character in this film?!
Might I recommend silent hill for a future video?
Boy, that ending feels like a dark twilight zone episode... very interesting movie
An amazing movie with a great cast!
Watch The UNRATED remake of The Hills Have Eyes!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
You should watch _Get Out_ one of these days. It's basically _The Stepford Wives_ meets _Guess Who's Coming to Dinner_ .
Definitely. And The Invitation and The Ritual
As an Australian while it gives me joy to see horror films of this caliber coming out of my country…it also hits really home on a number of levels. I knew a version of all these characters when I was young. The drug use metaphor while obvious was still really effective and opened a few wounds I thought had long since been healed. Incredible film
Exactly!
"It's different for everyone" is when I made the connection, but I've been around the hard drug scene more than many and not only more than I want to admit, but also more than most who have been able to walk away unscathed.
I think the movie is masterful and much more thought-provoking than it is scary.
It's like you are watching the flick, and it hits you, like a car hitting a kangaroo, and it becomes glaringly obvious without being preachy, just matter-of-fact, like how a person learns how drugs are harmful when they lose someone to drunk driving or an overdose.
Right there, all the time, perching like death, but just at the corner of the eye enough for the brain to ignore it and then WHAM! A big "I warned you/I told you so" moment.
A viewer really can't unsee the metaphor, (I sure the hell couldn't) and it's difficult to watch the entire movie without seeing it as a drug metaphor if a person has ever been exposed to drugs.
Still, I think it's WAY more subtle than "It Folllows" was with STDs, and explores its subject much more on-point.
I think this is really one of the best movies ever made because it doesn't preach or explain it, but it stays true to the course, because like drugs, the only explanation you get is the experience, and the outcome.
...And as far as Australian movies, I put it above them all, and there are a LOT of great movies from down under. It's one of my favorite horror movies simply because it is so masterfully written.
Best to you- ❤
F- you!, F- you!, lol😂lmao!, & i didnt think you had it in you, lol, just joking! You are the best at these reactions Kat! 👍✌️
Tremendous! Watching from Scotland and loving this channel! I would recommend Lake Mungo - Australian horror. And if its not been suggested you have to watch the original Scream
I'm not particularly superstitious or religious, fairly practical and level headed guy, but there is NOOOOOOOO way I would even consider taking part in this tomfoolery! Wouldn't even be in the same house as these shenanigans! Just in case! Not worth the risk! I can look after myself pretty well, but only if the enemy has a physical body! If it's supernatural entities, nah! It has the word "super" in its name ffs!
If there are kids out there stupid enough to muck around with this stuff, rather than taking advantage of all the other activities available in today's world..... well they're kind of asking for whatever happens!😅
"...she's not her anymore"...and she *never* was Mia's mother.
The spirit manipulating Mia and wearing the image of Mia's mother throughout each encounter was the 'drowned woman' that Mia encountered at the start of the film when she first held the hand.
Mia held onto the hand for far too long and the film, fully keeping with the rules it establishes from the start, continues with Mia having been possessed by the spirit. But since she continued to use the hand instead of stopping altogether the spirit never weakened and fled her body. It remained and became stronger with each subsequent use Mia made of the hand.

I'd like to see your reaction to A Clockwork Orange. It's not exsactly a horror movie, but in a way it kind of is due to how disturbing and wierd it is. Plus the cinematography is trippy AF.

Hi Kat, great to have you back :) we've missed you. I've never heard of this movie though. Please react to Terminator 2 next - not a horror/scary movie per se but has scary moments in it. Plus it's the GOAT sequel. Then Piranha (1978) & Lake Placid (1999)

Couldn't click on this fast enough. Best horror movie of 2023
Hi Kat!
I agree about the quality of writing here, I think this was written by the guys responsible for the Racka Racka RUclips channel. I also agree that the kids were horrible - I grew up in NZ so subconsciously expect all Strines to behave like that. (Not fair, I know. I currently have 2 cousins that live there.)
Glad to have you back!
What this movie and Ari Aster's films also understand is that we have to care about real three-dimensional people for the horror to be truly effective. Stereotypes and stand-ins are boring, ultimately. But in this (as with Dani in _Midsommar_ ), Mia was complex, and though she made some pretty awful decisions, we could understand her aching need to see her mom again.
Bloody dope reaction Kat. Might I suggest The Abandoned 2006 , Beloved 1998, The Skeleton Key 2005, Eve's Bayou 1997 and The Deaths of Ian Stone 2007 for your growing library. Peace and blessings be upon you Kat. And cheers!

The real horror was waiting soo long to get here again.
I do like Sia - I must admit. But I like her older songs.
Is it really that original? I would say it is a varation of all the "ouija board" movies that go wrong. Remember that "Egzorcist" also had a ouija board. And ghost possesion stories are also very old.
What I don't "buy" that this "rytual" works eveytime in every occasion.
The mom was in "Lord of the rings" - Éowina. No wonder she is tough. ;)
Can "we" watch something "fun" next - like "Evil Dead 2" or "Aliens" - Please??
Now back to my usual boring recommendatios:
"Dead Heat" from 1988; "Shocker" 1989 from Wes Craven; "Flatliners" 1990 "The Others" from 2001, "Sleepy Hollow" from 1999, "Twilight Zone: The Movie with Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" 1983. "Basket Case" 1982. and "Child's Play" from 1988 and "Critters" from 1986.
PRETTY PLEASE! :)
I love these reactions. I want to throw in Suspiria (2018). It’s quite the disturbing one!
I was going to suggest "Stir Of Echoes" with Kevin Bacon but I remember another movie that also stars Kevin Bacon, "Flatliners". They're pretty similar to this one actually. "Flatliners" also has Julia Roberts and Keifer Sutherland. A couple of great movies. 😎👍

I sympathize with Riley, but not entirely. Stupid kid wouldn't take no for an answer.
Yeah, A24 pretty much crushes it at all times. So, you’ve seen Hereditary, now this, might I suggest Midsommar for the hat trick?
Since you're doing Aussie horror, you should do _Lake Mungo_ (2008). Arguably Australia's finest. And no, that wasn't a joke. I know, the name sounds a bit silly. But you couldn't imagine a less silly movie. 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. I slept with the lights on for a few days after, which no other horror movie has made me do.
Stay for the credits. Be aware though that there's a bad version doing the internet rounds, characterised by really poor sound mixing. If the dialogue is too quiet and the music/effects are too loud, you've got the bad version.
Legit, one of the most unlikeable casts I've ever seen in a movie. I didn't enjoy it but glad you did.
It’s a bit of a confusing film but also very good. In a disturbing way also feels ”realistic”, whatever that is.
Hey Kat! Really good one! A24 rules. If you want a bit of a break, try the horror comedy by Peter Jackson " Dead Alive", gross out laugh out fun from New Zealand
You definitely need to check out the movie The Strangers! You won't regret it... or will you??? 🤔
