- For lazy people by lazy people- how to model pipes! Sci-fi pipes, or just regular pipes.
Get the (free!) UV Squares addon here:
github.com/p2o...
For UV unwrapping, it's invaluable. Radivarig is a saint.
OH OH ALSO WOW- after you turn up the bevel depth in the curve panel, hit "ALT+C, convert to mesh". Then you can select the edge loop. Wow. That'll teach me to make these things at 4am.

Well, I have good news, we are all Pipe Lords now.
Thanks, +IanHubert :)

Ayyyy it’s austin
Aye dude, did you survive falling from a failed chute?
Why do I keep finding you in all the videos I watch regardless of popularity?
You crammed a 20 minute tutorial into one minute. I learned something today.
No, I watched it frame by frame. Took me 20 mins. It's a 20 min videos. You are just not watching it at the right speed :-)
@@sylvainatoz2045 Cocaine speed is the correct speed. Do a line.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 Watching it one line at a time.
One day, university courses will be like this:
"Tank"
"Operator"
"I need a 3D program"
[Flickers eyelids]
Just as he crammed a dozen pipes into a small single room, lol.
TIPS: Curve can have Auto UV automatically, itks under the Texture option. BHAM! Even lazier.
OH WHAT!? I... wow. I wish I'd known that! Gonna dig into that!
See, even professionals still have things to learn!
Oh my gosh! This is getting to be fun
@@IanHubert2 Guess you're not lazy enough

Damn ive looking for this comment so long. I thought i have to watch the entire thing!
I had to keep coming back to the UV editing, always get confused on that step, and its really difficult to find, he could have really done a better job cleaning up the video
Thanks, I have a short atten....
Thanks I really didn't wanna have to go and wait for the video to play out until I found the part of I was looking for. Big help, very cool
Do I have to watch the whole thing?
Just the important bits, you can skip when you get bored xD
I find that you can skip the first 25 seconds usually, and the last half is nearly always just eye candy shots
Yes you do unfortunately lol 🤣

Only the first minute or so
In those pipes, another pipes with creative juice flowing, keep it flowing! :)

Coffee supply pipes for Sir Alexandrov
@@HEEROCKSS lol :D
This guy is off the chain. Where's Starbucks when you need it ☕ I need a double dose and toss in a few Dunkin Donuts while your at it 🍩🍩
A coffee pipe is a good starter, but it really could use a Whiskey and Irish Cream intake valve.
"What's in those pipes?" *haunted noises*
This is the one time I'm hoping it's just poop.
0:00 today you’re are gonna learn how to make pipes in blender
1:00 with all the knowledge you’ve acquired, you are now proclaimed the pipe lord.
There is no higher calling in life then pipe Lord. And what is in those pipes, like really?
For anyone wondering how to make the curves a mesh, go to object > convert to > curve to mesh this is the missing step at 0:05 before going into edit the pipe.
Life saver
THANK YOU
I'm a newbie to 3D, and I'm honestly learning so much from this channel.
You’ll be the pipelord in no time.
If you are learning you are not lazy enough! Improve your laziness...learn less!
Koutetsu Jeeg Shit. You’ve got a point.
Although if I now start actively learning less, isn’t that me putting in effort, therefore making me not lazy?
The Dangerous Brew you’ve gone peculiar
@@TheDangerousBrew Interesting subject. I should write a smart answer but I'm too lazy to do it :P
"What's even in those pipes?"
*SCP 015 intensifies*
Ok so when he says “select a seam in edit mode” you may have trouble with this if your new to blender, first you have to select the curve then go into your commands menu and type in “convert” then press mesh (not curve or text)
Thanks!
where is the commands menu?

nice and informative. And you are not getting lazy making these :)
You're gonna be rollin in the dalla-bills with tuts like these!
Too bad YT doesn't seem to reward people for quality but quantity
His channel might not qualify for the RUclips Partner Program yet I bet. Plus he gotta submit an application for such. Then wait a year perhaps to find out if it's gotten approved or not. Then he needs to tie his bank to his Adsense account if he doesn't already have one, and pray he doesn't get hit with any copyright violations or Community guidelines strikes inbetween all the waiting and after YPP approval. Crazy stuff! But yeah monetization out here is for the Angry birds. 😄
@@virtual_intel Thats crazy.
Not only is this informative but it's entertaining. And I don't even use blender. Keep up the good work

Your videos takes not waisting people’s time to the next level. The intermediate/advanced one minute format is awesome.
Going into the video: "a minute and a half? What could he possibly tell us in that time? This is probably another trailer for one of those 20 part, three hour courses you've gotta buy"
A minute and twenty seconds later: "WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT THIS MAN IS A GENIUS"
This is some seriously underrated content. Keep `em coming!
You brought back my self confidence in 3d modeling .. thank you
I seriously love your style... and humor. You provide more than enough info to not get stuck without a clue as to what to look up.
Man, this series of Lazy tutorials... I can't even. Thank you...Thanks a LOT.
It is really a pleasure to watch and rewatch many times your lazy tutorials. Very good concept and I can't wait to see more of these tutorials. Thanks !
These tutorials are AWESOME!
The last time I watched a blender tutorial they mis-spelt tutorial 3 times in their notepad and that took as long as this video, thank you for high speed knowledge.
As someone who's put a lot of effort into trying to figure out how to "make good looking stuff" I am infuriated by how easy it actually is.
you've earned a sub.
I luv how short yet info packed these vids are
No joking but I really learn a f*ckn lot from these tutorials
Ive been into blender for 5 months now and this is the most helpful video about pipes I've ever watched
nice, something new from that transdimensional blender tutorial tv station from an alternate rick & morty universe!
Custom tutorial on yt: "making pipes 53:00h ///// this one: 1min. THIS IS THE KIND OF TUTORIAL THAT HUMANITY NEED.
so cool now i can make that one windows pipe wallpaper in blender

This should be the standard for any modeling video tutorial! Please make more!
This guy : How to make Pipes
Also this guy : *First lets add Pipes*
I had an add for "pipefy" before the video, then in 1 sec he says "let's add pipes!". It kinda made my day.
This dude be gaining subs at a terrific speed lol..
I left him at 5.5k subs the day b4 yesterday.. now he is at 14k subs.lol.
lmao saaaame, people on Twitter been sharing his stuff a lot lately, especially the bigger names in the blender community like Andrew Price and Gleb Alexandrov. Its also the lazy tuts which are paving way for people to watch their Dynamo shorts, (easily the best Blender VFX) which are marvelous tbh, yt recommended me one of his lazy tuts last week or so and the sub count was still pretty ok but then I checked through the entire channel to discover a gold mine! So glad he's blowing up (many credits to his team as well). I'm glad he also changed the name of the channel so people can find him by his real name instead of the shitposter imposter "mrdodobird" lol, but that didn't affect the weird eccentric style of his videos anyway, so I see it as an absolute win.
@@RuthwikRao man he definitely understands the youtube game like a pro..but what he makes deserve more and more
bruh he's 16.5k now lmao what
@@RuthwikRao omg lol😂i told ya he is the original flash in subs gain
I even saw him posted on a C4D forum!
Never ever ever stop doing these .
You can also straighten the UVs using Magic UV which comes with Blender. In the UV editor select one edge, then open the side panel (N), select Magic UV tab, drop down UV Manipulation, check Align UV, check Transmission, and hit XY-axis. Then select the other edge and hit the XY-axis button again.
Never stop
This making me think if I should switch to blender
This format is going to be huge in the community
Wow all this stuff in 1 minute wtf subscribed
I grew up playing video games and watching TV, therefore I have a very short attention span. Thank you for your excellent service.
Me: Wow that is easy Awesome!

"How to make SCP-015 in Blender"
I fucking love this tutorial format. The worst parts of tutorials is watching 20 minutes just to get a simple explanation how to do "x".
For everyone looking for the texture he used, found it!

Thanks bud!
Being this good at Blender is just a pipe dream
This channel is some high-quality shit. Tutorials that get the basic idea down but actually make you do the fun bit.
What's this?! A Blender tutorial channel with super short but effective videos and humor? I must be dreaming
I was searching for someone who wasn't completely stone-faced when making tutorials or that took 6 minutes to explain that the mouse is what you use to select things, I have found my place.
Now that's how you make a quick and neat pipe tutorial
Oh hecc I only know about the curve part but not the rest. This is helpful and I love how “bitesize” this tut is. Great work
This was the most brilliant thing my I have watched. I have used Blender for 10+ years, and while I make pipes in a similar fashion... This is awesomely explained. So well that my low attention self easily understood it. Micro tutorials. Nice.
This is the best tutorial i have ever seen, no time wasted. I can now become lord of the pipes.
When you have played around with blender and know where all the stuff is, these vids are great for quick tips on how to put it to practice.
Buddy, this is maybe the quickest I've subscribed to a channel before. Excellent tutorial.
I've just started using blender, and been watching lots of totu's, but these are hands down the best for me
I was just telling myself I needed to look up how to make pipes earlier and now here I am seeing this as a recommended video. Right on time and great video as always
Best Blender Tutorials in all of RUclips! I've learned more from you 1-minute tutorials than most 1-hour long ones out there. And it is all USEFUL STUFF!!
Thank you!
You can also straighten out the squiggly UV islands by
selecting a face that looks square enough(if there isn't one, you can make one so by lining up four vertexes so that it's a perfect square),
press L to select the rest of the island,
press F3 and type Follow, press enter twice
and voila you've just gotten even lazier by not installing the addon.
you got some mad skills for someone teaching things in less than a minute
I use MAYA but goshdarnit if these aren't the best tutorials on RUclips. It gives you enough info that you can learn the rest on your own. These tutorials have allowed me to speed up my workflow 10x because of these cheap 1 minute tricks. Love you, Ian, and keep up the good work!
Man don't ever stop with this!
In spit of informative your videos are, I still surprised that there no ad on them. I love you so much dude even though I don't have Blender software.
These are the best tuts on RUclips no joke.
"Look at you, you are the pipe lord now!" Immortal
my f'ing god, your a comedic blender genius. i love you and will be buying your courses.
Dear Sir,
You are truly doing a legendary thing, I cannot even begin to fathom about your experience in this field. Your tutorials are absolutely genius! Keep doing the brilliant work.
Something I’ve learned from this channel is: texture first, geometry second. That’s the exact opposite of my intuition
this format is just amazing
I am SO FUCKING GLAD that I found your account, my pipelord. Holy hell. Your videos do more for me than most 40min tutorials. Damn.
Ok straight up, the best tutorial I've ever seen for Blender
ive been a professional maya user for 15 years, in one minute you make me want to switch to blender
Dude... you should keep going... seriously... even if they are slightly longer, your snappy wit will take you places in youtube...
Now THESE are tutorials I can enjoy
Ngl lie man you are the first person to make blender not intimidating for me to want to try! I'd honestly love to see some super basic intro tutorials in this style from you, heck if you start up a patreon (or already have) you've got my money!
Dude you're actually a god at this
God... damn.... genius... actually a really smart way to go at environmental modeling if you have an idea of the stuff you want to model...
This is fucking fantastic this is a goldmine. Love the humour, the shortness and the amount of information. Keep it going
Dude you are literally my hero! I love your kind of humor, and you understand what's the important part of a blender tutorial: not talking 20 minutes about basic shit and your whole plans. Just do it. ♡
I'm so glad I found this guy. He's actually persuading me to learn blender.
I just found your channel
No clue why this keeps coming up in my feed. I've never used this program nor had any reason to. Yet here I am.
I was about to go to sleep when I found your channel. I don't need sleep anymore
I saw your new film (awesome work btw), and thought "Gee how did he make all those pipes!" and then this video appeared in my recommended!
