    This is a great tutorial! If anyone runs into problems with weird insets make sure to scale your object...that should fix the issue.

      Yes! Great call! I was recently working on a project and I forgot to apply scale and I was wondering why my insets were so wonky…

    That's some neat work there. I want to model an Alstom Citadis tram for 3d printing and include a motor and gears so it runs on my Ferrorama tracks. This video gave me plenty of insight on how I can model it. Thanks a whole bunch.

      Thank you! I have a tutorial on making train interiors too, if that’s helpful

    • @yukooomi
      @yukooomi Год назад

      @@renderedinblender I have seen it, but my only issue is for interiors, should I overlay it and make it from another part instead of using the exterior's shape? Because my train's interior I can't even line the walls due to the fact that extruding the faces will, as usual remove the exterior walls since it drags it

    • @renderedinblender
      @renderedinblender  Год назад

      Okay so if you want a train car with both interior/exterior, duplicate the exterior and drag the walls in/ceiling down so that you have some depth to the walls (but windows still stay in the same position). Then you can select edge loops you wish to be connected (the inside of the window and the outside of the window) and bridge them using the “bridge edge loops” option

      @renderedinblender  2 года назад +2

      Hmm good question! I have not worked with Unity, so I’m not entirely sure. However, I was having a similar issue with exporting to Unreal Engine. Perhaps if you go to ‘File’ and go down to the ‘External Data’ tab, you might be able to pack the resources (like image textures and stuff) into the file automatically? That’s what I do when I’m sharing blender files to other people

    • @renderedinblender
      @renderedinblender  Год назад

      You take the basic default cube and add a mirror modifier (found in the modifier tab) to it. Then in edit mode, add multiple edge loops to bisect both sides of the cube so that you can delete all but 1/4 of the cube. Make sure to check the X and Y for the mirror mod so that it displays both
