602 is a fantastic all rounder ... sizzles away nicely, nice bell. I have the hand hammered 20" Sabian myself on my acoustic kit but that bell on the Meinl 22" is just the best. Its so perfectly pitched it will cut through anything.... I bitterly regret selling my Meinl about 15 yrs ago. It had matured lovely. Of course, sound is subjective and I am a Sabian fan after breaking my way through most of the Paiste range through the years. Nice vid Dean. Captured all the nuances and tones really well. Awesome 👌

thanks, yeh meinl is my fav, it unfortunately has a tiny crack on the edge which i drilled a tiny hole to stop it, which worked. I also have some tape on the underside to shorten the decay more. Just love the evolution series, I have the hats, 17” 20” crashes, but my fav is my meinl byzance 18” sand crash. I already lost one, had to buy it again, left it on a backline kit, so pissed off.

Ah m8, I feel your pain. Breaking stuff is hard enough. But "losing" stuff doing multi line up gigs and festivals over the years hurts more. It saddens me that almost all musicians know that to get good gear takes hard work and a lot of money which isnt easy to come by, especially in our younger years, yet there is always a minority few that think its perfectly ok to walk away with someone elses gear knowing the hardship it will cause. I "lost" a Premier Project One 14" x 8" (yes 8" deep lol) whilst moving stuff offstage ready for the next band. It was the first to go in its case side stage. Carried all the rest of our gear to our green area cage ready to lock up until the end of the day but realised I had forgotten the snare. It was only out of my sight for literally 3 or 4 mins max. Gone !! ... only ppl there were our guys and the next band and crew going onstage. No one knew anything about it. Disappeared quick that one. Worth good money now if you can find one. Loved that snare ... mic'd it 3 ways live. Fat as you like and we didnt have samples back then. I miss it ....

@@brussalis Yeh that is sad, I haven’t had that happen, I’ve had my stuff moved, but then found it, it’s mad at those festivals, really have to be on the ball. I had my kit stolen from my car in 92, well half my kit, only had off street parking in the city, neighbours caught them, too late tho, ran off.

the ‘flat ride’ is a distinct jazz cymbal, very quiet, no bell, used with brushes, quite sought after in certain settings.
