Nice job. As you’ve soldered the track into a continuous loop won’t it buckle when temperatures rise/fall? Expansion gaps are one of the benefits of the rail joiner approach.
Very true, but the room is temperature stable, I highly doubt it get any issues..and I’m not planning on taking it anywhere is temperatures extreme enough to be an issue
Thanks. I just use grey car primer, but have used Humbrol grey primer through the airbrush with good results. I’ll be doing a video on track painting again in a couple of weeks for the current project
@@GWilliamsonModels thank you as I thought need to use a true plastic primer like for body work on car parts. Been doing a lot of research and testing and it’s what I am finding to be the best, just now confirming my findings, so your reply has really helped, much appreciated. Looking forward to the video when comes out! Sub and like from me 😊 thanks again
@@AlphaKing-ux6oc no problem, it’s always good to do your own tests aswell and find something that works for you, as everyone has their own preferences
It’s the same gauge as N, as it’s 9mm. So you could use N, but 009 track has the sleepers spread further apart, and at 1/76 scale so they don’t look too small
Brilliant! Looking forward to seeing the buildings 👍🏻
Thanks!
looking good! George
Thanks Andy, trying to get updates done weekly is proving a full time job 😅
I’m surprised you didn’t use rail joiners and then solder it.
Didn’t think of that, I will next time!
If you stagger your rail joints instead of having them be right across from each other you'll totally eliminate kinks.
Noted. Thanks for the tip!

Already got the track down? Your going pretty quickly! I'm loving how it's coming along, great work!
Trying to keep up the pace, but it’s taking up so much time to do, so hopefully it will be worth the effort!
Great work George. Enjoying your progress. Quick question if I may; where do you get your choc block connectors you use on this project from? Thanks.
Hi sorry for the delay! They are on eBay, item number 153938916840
Nice little layout, just come across your video - having issues with painting track at the moment, paint keeps peeling off. What primer did you use?
