GI Joe and Transformers are both Hasbro, they've been crossing over in the comics since the 80s and have inferred each other in other media. This is the first time they've crossed over in film and television. RotB is the sequel to Bumblebee, which was pretty much confirmed a reboot with this movie. Optimus is still feeling the pain of having to abandon Cybertron, which is why he's so eager to return and not keen on keeping Earth safe. And, well, Unicron not being Earth completely invalidates the whole "BB be sequel to TLK" thing.
i remember an episode of the cartoon where cobra commando made a cameo desguised as a mafia boss , but it was obiously him with the iconic starscream voice n stuff
@@LuciZeArtist Only Human and The Killing Jar were the closest the cartoon came to crossovers with GI Joe, really wish they'd have done a two-parter crossover event.
Fun fact, when they were filming in Cuzco, Optimus (the car) was having trouble going up the streets bc they are too narrow and uphill and he was too heavy. It was hilarious bc Peruvian newspapers wrote a note about it, something along the lines of “Optimus can’t tame Cuzco streets” 😂
Seeing Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal in the same scene is absolutely mind-blowing. And Peter Cullen to Transformers is like Stan Lee to Marvel, he deserves to be in a featurette. Peter Cullen is in his 80s, but is still giving it his all as Optimus Prime! Absolute Legend!

When they mentioned G.I. Joe, I literally jumped out of my seat. I'm a huge fan of the cartoon of the 80's, and as a comic book reader, I knew they have cross each other paths quite a time. It would be great to see Optimus Prime teaming up with the likes of Duke, Flint, Scarlett and others against Decepticons and Cobra Commander. ❤
@@CFC__Cameron if they have a concept of a whole universe in their mind though, I wouldn't mind that. And as a hasbro toy and comic fan, I would love to have one.
Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts is a reboot entirely, but much of the Bayverse has had a huge influence on it. For example, Bumblebee resembles his Bayverse counterpart, and the music at the end of Rise of the Beasts was used in the other movies
Peter Cullen was the voice of my childhood. Not just from being the voice of Optimus, but the voice of the announcer from Toonami. Before and after every show, every commercial, there was Peter Cullen hyping me up for whatever I'm about to watch next. Say what you will about each of these movies, but Peter Cullen being a constant elevates them all.
@@Biostalker420 Did Knight Rider's heroic K.I.T.T.'s nemesis, the evil K.A.R.R.'s voice in the original and also the NBC relatively recent reboot of Knight Rider.

This movie was re-written twice and went through a lot of changes and delays throughout production, and it definitely shows in the final cut. The begining of Prime's character arc was cut out from the begining of the movie, where we was orignally tauned by a decepticon who showed him autobots being executed back on cybertron, which made it clear why he wanted to get home so badly. Scourge was also meant to have more of a backstory, with his mask reveal orginally having an actual plot purpose with him being revealed to be one of Unicron's past victims (we don't know who specifically, though there is some evidence to suggest it was Bayverse Prime). Budget is definitely a factor that affects how these movies are made, and while I think a balance of human and robot interaction is key to giving us enough meaningful robot screen time, it really comes down to the writing on how well it's done. I think this movie was good enough for Hasbro to launch the new trilogy they wanted, I just hope the new sequels are more consistent throughout production so we can get a movie with a clearer vision, similar to The Batan.
I can understand the divide this movie had due to the portrayal of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee’s "death” and it was a slight step backwards from _Bumblebee_ but that didn’t stop me from watching it and I still enjoyed the film nonetheless due to the action, VFX and the introduction of the Maximals with Airazor voiced by Michelle Yeoh and Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal. I still am happy to see the Maximals in the Live-Action Transformers since I grew up with the Beast Wars Transformers CG cartoon (especially Beast Machines) from the 1990’s and my introduction to Transformers in general.
I grew up with both gen 1 transformers and beast wars so this movie was a perfect blend of the 2 just wish more maximals especially rattrap and dinobot lol those 2 would have made it better
@@spike3082 Exactly. I know there are a lot of charakters already but I missed them and I would have liked also to see Airazor in her robot form at least one time. It's sad that she died.
@user-dq6rp4sq1u yes it is I grew up on Gen1 transformers as well as Beast Wars and liked each of them just the same and I did enjoy in the movie both Prime and Primal saying "ROLLOUT" simultaneously it was a very nice touch
Fun fact: Transformers did crossovers with G.I.Joe in comics. The comics that did the Transformers/ G.I.Joe crossovers were Marvel, Dreamwave, Devil's Due Publishing and IDW. And now the comic book company that now has Transformers and G.I. Joe comic book license is Skybound
And sky bound is making sure those two are officially a shared universe with their energonverse comics. Void rivals kickstarted it written by Robert Kirkman, creator of walking dead and invincible. The new transformers issue released and so far got great reception among readers old and new. Then next month gi Joe is coming with also duke and cobra have their own series. Timing wise it’s perfect for anyone that wants to jump in with a new storyline.
This is definitely a reboot like Bumblebee. Hope to see Transformers and GI Joe crossover soon, and I also hope that Hailee Steinfield, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr, and Jason Drucker from Bumblebee coming back alongside Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback Dean Scott Vazquez and Luna Lauren Velez coming back as well. Also hope that Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, and Pete Davidson coming back to voice Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal, and Mirage. I also hope that they can bring back Dylan O’ Brien to voice Bumblebee whenever when they find his voice after when it was ripped off in Bumblebee. I also want the Transformers & GI Joe crossover films to get a 3hrs run-time if they want
Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox and Airazor are from the Beast Wars: Transformers '90s cartoon (which was the sequel to the Transformers '80s cartoon). This movie was their official live-action debut!
Just so you know for sure, it is a reboot The only reason why people are still confused is because one of the producers still thinks it's connected to the Bay movies when literally the Director/Hasbro/Paramount and basically everyone else has said it's a reboot
I'm a Gen-X. I took my teen/Gen-Z son to see this. We both loved it for different reasons. I loved it for the late 80's/early 90's nostalgia. My son loved it because of his Transformers obsession. 😂
To all my fellow beast wars homies, this was such a pleasurable throwback. Also just a small fyi in the original series of beast wars they were sent back to the time when the autobots and decepticons were kindof dead and also a bit of time after they landed on earth.
I had really great time watching this latest Transformers film on the big screen! Seeing the interactions between the Autobots and the Maximals was great, especially when they fought side by side with each other. And that end credits scene was a “wow” moment for me. One of my favorite films of 2023 by far!
I loved this movie when I went to see it. I laughed at some parts, got emotional at others, I got a little bit annoyed at others, too. I wasn't expecting to love Mirage as much as I did, given who his voice actor was, but surprise surprise. The teamwork between the Autobots and the Maximals as they worked together to take down the Terrorcons and Unicron was amazing. I felt my jaw drop when I saw Scourge kill Bumblebee, but I was ecstatic when he made his epic entrance into the fight after being re-energized by all the Energon deposits. Honestly, hearing the voices of Peter Cullen and Ron Perlman in the same movie is way too cool to not love, and I love how useful Elena was with her knowledge. I give this movie a solid 9/10. Also, I think that hustler with Noah shit himself when he saw Mirage. 😂😂
I love how Noah got Mirage's suit to fight. The way Bumblebee came back to kick ass was SO cool! You did miss showing the ending part where Mirage came back.
I agree that the Maximals seem way cooler than the Autobots. But maybe that's because I used to watch Beast Wars back in the day, I loved that show! And I'm a bit disappointed that most of the Maximals in this movie didn't really get a solid characterization like the Autobots did (except for Primal and Airazor).
This movie had so much potential, the animation is honestly beautiful, and if anything it just elevates bumblebee for me. Bumblebee still stands to be my perfect transformers movie.
You guys should really react to the Beast Wars series, its fondly remembered for a good reason. Its my favortie Transformers series and it would be neat to hear you guys talk about the animation.
There’s a guy on RUclips that’s put the episodes up remastered in 4K by himself, and they look absolutely beautiful. The jump in quality from the official SD transfers (the best that’s officially available) and his home-done 4K transfers is mind blowing
Yes, G.I. Joe and Transformers have been in a shared universe before. Back in the 80’s there was a four issue crossover between the two Marvel comic series. Later, in the IDW era, they had more crossover comics. There’s definitely a good precedent for a shared universe.
Rise of the beasts is a sequel to Bumblebee, which is a reboot. While a dumbass executive named lorenzo is saying these films are connected with the bay ones, the director himself has stated very clearly these are separate from the bay films. Also YOU SHOULD WATCH TRANSFOMERS PRIME lmao
I get why he's saying that. Bays movies made money, Bumblebee didn't make as much and that scared them probably so I think they think making Bays ones a part of this will draw a larger croud
I honestly had so much fun with this movie I get it’s not perfect for some but I don’t expect it to be it’s entertaining, love the designs was so fun having the maximals and we got to see them also transform 👏🏾👏🏾 bubble bee even though he was gone the return as always was epic. I loved the reaction and the J.I tease was very cool.
Lol. I watched this in the cinema with my friend and told her while in the other movies Optimus felt like the caring parent/grandparent watching out for youz in this one he felt like the mean immature older sibling just trying to take care of his own siblings.
22:40 Primus is the God of all the Cybertronians Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons and Titans he is also the brother of Unicron and Primus created the original 13 Primes. Primus body became the planet Cybertron.
I really love the designs they're going for and really enjoyed the transformations in this and Bumblebee. They felt more like robots in disguise instead of vehicles that can turn into giant robots if that makes any sense😅
@@M_k-zi3tnfor me the Bay designs as good as some of them were felt really complex and intricate with lots of tiny pieces that seemed to fly off everywhere and were hard to follow during some transformations or even identifying who was who during some action scenes.
@@M_k-zi3tn The Bay designs are too messy, with these ones it makes sense for them to be a lot smaller given their alt modes are actual cars, I mean Bee in the Bayverse was MASSIVE compared to how small the alt mode was.
@AFuckingBird normal audiences can’t really tell them apart I get what you mean, cus I ll try and talk to friends and they have no clue who I’m talking about, but with this one everyone can tell them apart immediately and almost everyone in this movie ( except battletrap) actually got named
53:36 The original Gi Joe and Transformers cartoons took place in the same universe. Cobra Commander even appeared in an episode of Transformers (though at that point the Joe’s had permanently put down Cobra and he was working as an arms dealer named Old Snake).
Transformers and G.I.Joe had comics together back in they day. Hasbro owns both so that’s why it happened. It made sense to be because I know it happened before, but it still throws me off
I don't know if you guys will ever do it but... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check out and react to the Beast Wars series. Animation wise it's rough but other than that, it is simply one of the best Transformers series of all time.
I don't know if someone has already written anything about the lore, so I'll do it (if I'm wrong, someone please correct me). In cannon, the Maximals are the descendants of the Autobots. Like their ancestors, they have their own evil faction: the Predacons. Optimus Primal is a descendant of Prime. The leader of the Predacons is named Megatron, like HIS ancestor. In the show Beast Wars, the Maximals chase the Predacons after they stole the golden disc, which, like the transwarp key, allows to travel to any place at any time. The two factions ended up in ancient times on earth. The earth has too much energon, so they can't go out in their normal (robot) mode, lest they short out. They have to take the forms of the creatures around them. So the Maximals take the forms of a gorilla, a rhino, a cheeta, and a rat (airazor wasn't part of the initial cast). The Predacons take the forms of a T-Rex (Megatron), a velocitaptor, a scorpion, wasp, tarantula, and a pterodactyl. As the show goes on, new characters are added to both sides (like airazor) and adventures happen. When I was a kid in Cuba, there were several episodes broadcasted as a movie. My dad recorded it on a VHS tape and I watched it on repeat several times. When I heard that the Maximals were going to be in the new movie, I rejoiced and even more so when I saw the trailer; my dad did, too. I was a little sad the Cheetor barely talked, but seeing these guys on screen made me feel giddy. Also, I thought the movie was good overall.
First this is a reboot, and a Transformers G I Joe movie is in the works, the Airazor dieing scene made me cry so much the first time I saw it in theaters.😭❤️🦅
Nearly 40 years of voicing Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots, there is much more to even Peter Cullen than meets the eye!!!!! ABSOLUTE LEGEND!!!!
He was pretty cool to see Nightbird appear, at least as a name. She was a ninja spy robot created by Megatron in one episode of the original cartoon. But you can see the design cues to the original cartoon character in Rise, especially when she pulls out her glowing yellow katanas. Very cool. Interestingly, Takara Tomy released a TF Character, and it is a retool of the Arcee Masterpiece toy.
Nightbird was a ninja bot but she wasn't created by megatron. She was created by human scientists and autobots. megatron learned about night bird and reprogrammed her to kill optimus. but she wasn't completely reprogrammed and still had her ninja honor in her first fight with optimus she retreated after taking optimus blaster. This episode was the first one i ever saw so its burned into my mind.
Honestly it can go either way still. The Maximals and their Transwarp key lightly confirmed time travel in the film so it's still up in the air if all seven movies are still connected. Though how the Terrorcons followed the Maximals through time is another story. In the recent Netflix Transformers animated series Unicron was shown being able to send his servants through time. Furthermore, Airazor states that the Maximals are "from both [the Autobots'] past and future"; and Optimus Primal says that he is named after the "legendary" Optimus Prime, which combined seem to suggest that the Maximals originate from the future. The Last Knight did end with Cybertron brought back to life and the Autobots leaving Earth for it. In the Beast Wars cartoon, the Maximals are descendents of the Autobots similar to this movie. Also because of Unicron attacking the Maximals planet, that would imply that the Unicron that appears in this movie is also from the future, perhaps after he is freed from Earth?! Also, the Transwarp Key's energy is explicitly stated to operate on a frequency that humans cannot perceive, meaning that they literally cannot see the huge sky-beam, while massive storm clouds appear to hide the appearance of Unicron from public view, as shown on a news report near the end of the film. As such, the general population of Earth (except secret agencies) are still completely unaware of the Transformers' existence, as was the case when the first film began. If time travel is utilized more in another future film that could explain why Bumblebee didn't seem to remember ever meeting Sir Edmund Burton (Sir Anthony Hopkins' character in Transformers: The Last Knight) in WW2 because TLK Bumblebee hadn't experienced it yet. It's still unclear if the Maximals' Transwarp key is the same one that Optimus Prime mentioned disappeared thousand of years ago or if there is more than one. The director, Steven Caple Jr. has also given mixed messages before and after this film came out, one interview he claimed it's a reboot, in that same interview he then calls it a refresher and says it could still connect to the older Bay films, in another interview he outright says it's a prequel, and is about how Optimus Prime became the leader he is in the Bay films. In May, Caple said that the events of the 2007 film will be preserved, but also that the story would be standalone and that "Ultimately, all you need to know is that they're trying to get back to Cybertron". While the producer on both the G.I. Joe films and Transformers films has been pretty adamant it's a prequel.
GI Joe X Transfomers has actually been a thing for a while, there was a series of crossover comics in 1987 and there have been a bunch of crossover toys
Used to want a secret transformer as a teen. Only as an adult I'm wondering if I can even afford all the bills or upkeep 😂. On a different note, I really hope you guys will check out One Piece live action one of these days.
Dark energon is a hell of a thing. Corrupts the living and brings the dead back to life under Unicron's thrall. And, occasionally, animates the inanimate as vessels of Unicron's power.
Am I the only one who thought that Scourge was taking a few design cues from IDW's Tarn? It seems like the movie takes the idea of his character and squad of inquisitors and applies it to the idea of Unicron's harbingers (without Galvatron and the others, sadly).
In the comics there was a big crossover with GI Joe and there was even an episode of the animated Transformers (post movie) that had a cross over with GI Joe as well.
I've loved every minute of these Transformers reactions!! About how Prime is acting in this = I've always thought of it as they are "younger" and more "naive" in these because this is before he learned/realised that humans and earth is worht saving and yada yada. Bumblebee is obviously before this and then this movie happens and then 10 years later Bumblebee meets Sam and so on :)
@@predatron4197no because this is before he is born, nowhere in the movie does it state it is a different universe but its up for own interpretation ofc.
@@wilhelmina3433 that makes zero sense. He would be 3 years old. In Bayverse, the autobots landed in 2007. Sector 7 had already seen Megatron while in Bee movie, Bee, Shatter, and Dropkick were their first alien encounters. Unicron was Earth in Bayverse. The transformers were way bigger in Bayverse. Wheeljack looked like Albert Einstein. Mirage was a Ferrari and had an italian accent. Also Megatron has a different design and his SS figure is being released in February. He'll most likely show up in the next movie or the finale. Lorenzo is the only person saying that its still part of the Bayverse. Paramount needs it to be a reboot because of how downhill it went after AOE and TLK.

Not sure if you guys will see this comment but if you want a more neutral answer as to if these newer films are prequels or reboots then hello, happy to be of service. Though I warn that it's a *BIG* tornado of news so just bare with me
The information we have *FOR NOW* is that they are connected. Before I get jumped like I always do trying to actually get to the bottom of what's going on, do let me explain what that means first. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventure has stated that because these newer films take place way before the Bay films they have more creative freedom to do what they want before we eventually meet Prime & Bee from the 2007 film. Now here comes another conflicting report from director Steven Caple Jr. who has stated that it feels like a genuine reboot yet in some interviews he does seem to treat solely the 2007 film as a potential inclusion. For instance there was an article talking about the previous instalments which he makes clear ROTB does not affect the 2007 film. I feel like if you're rebooting, especially if it's been decided Bumblebee was the start of this new universe, you don't need to clarify that. Again that's what I mean by conflicting reports
So in summary we really don't have final answers just yet. Again, to provide a more neutral answer, I genuinely see both outcomes being possible should they make a final decision. Bumblebee does set up a new universe beautifully. Even back then when I was on the camp of 100% believing it to still be a prequel part of my brain did admit that. And yet if you actually don't overcomplicate things, there is still a cohesive timeline. I simply look at the comics, mostly IDW, where the Autobots & Decepticons could go from world to world throughout centuries until taking place in modern day which kicks off the universe. And while I'm not officially done I have read an issue where a group of Autobots were stuck on a planet for a while simply because they lost their ship in a battle & had to wait for pickup. Not to mention different form of space travel. So pretty much all I can say until the people working on the films reach a decision, we just have to wait
There was a G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover comic series, so technically it is a canon crossover. But to see a crossover like this on film is insane!
The Transformers had a crossover comic with GIJoe in the 90s. Cobra helped rebuild Megatron into a tank form, after Hasbro legally had to discontinue his gun form toy.
Some people do not like this Movie, Is because of course there's humans in it. In some reviews i watched about Rise Of The Beasts, Most people are wanting a Transformers film that takes place on Cybertron! With 0% humans.
I enjoyed the fact that there were human characters that were ACTUALLY useful versus just there for eye candy or screams. Soundtrack embodied 1994 Brooklyn, NY along with the aesthetic. Humans have always been a part of transformers and helpful. Refer back to the 84’ series. Nice review..
Got the same reaction as James with Bee getting killed by Scourge. Bee being my favorite in comics and movies. And by the way, Scourge's kill count is approximately more than 50 including Decepticon kills and even a freaking Elite Guard. And I love Scourge's entrance on this movie, it's so menacing.
I don't think it's so much that Optimus Prime was more cold/serious in this movie, just that he's more on guard and protective. Even for as long as they've been there since the Bumblebee reboot, which is the first movie in the Knightverse "Transformers" saga, Prime is still their leader and a legendary warrior at heart. It makes total sense here for his guard to be up and more on the defensive, especially when you've got to be wary on both sides and in territory that still feels relatively new to you. And these aren't just his friends and teammates he's fighting to protect, they're family. It's got to be hard on him, too, whenever he blames himself for the bad things that happened, including having to abandon their home planet. All this just makes him more real and more human, despite being a machine. Much like Bumblebee was in Charlie Watson's eyes. I really enjoyed this movie and your reaction to it. Not as much as "Bumblebee", but it was still pretty great. This movie was an awesome nod to all "Transformers: Beast Wars" fans. It also gave Optimus Prime more time to shine and have his own movie of sorts, which Peter Cullen hinted that's what he wanted when he made a surprise guest appearance at the Bumblebee panel as Optimus Prime. You can easily find it here on RUclips, if you wanna check that out. Some with him and Frank Welker, too, who voiced Megatrons. Both are absolutely legendary VAs. Knowing all this didn't make Bee's temporary death hit any less harder though! Same for whenever Optimus Prime dies. And I love how "G.I. Joe" and "Transformers" connect in the same universe. I never realized that, even as a little girl who grew up watching both of these cartoons in the 80s when they were at their prime. And I still watch them to this day! Makes total sense though, as they are both Hasbro properties, as is "My Little Pony", etc. Hence the easter eggs, even in the Bayverse films. I can't wait to see what's next in this new trilogy, or however far this may go. I'm in for the whole ride either way. But I do agree with you when it comes to the female lead, Elena, in this reboot/"Bumblebee" sequel - she doesn't even come close to Charlie. I was so heartbroken when she and Bee had to part ways. Noah and his little brother though? That was cute. As the oldest of three siblings, I can relate. The friendship between Noah and Mirage was fun, too. Reminded me of Charlie and Bumblebee with a hint of Sam and Bumblebee sprinkled in there. Cheetor is also my favorite of the Maximals in this movie, though I like them all in their own right. The way Optimus Primal just shrugs after he kills an enemy Prime wanted to take down made me laugh out loud. And don't even get me started on that epic final battle! On the edge of my seat and the brutality Optimus Prime showed in his rage and anger was unforgettable. All in all, great movie. I'd probably give it an 8.5/10, 9/10 tops. Bumblebee? 10/10 easy
In G1 Maximals were the descendents of the Autobots (and Predacons were the descendents of the Decepticons but they're not in this film). It's not clear exactly how far into the future this change occured, but it appears to be after a fair amount of time. Transwarp technology can be used to move across time, as well as space, which is often how the Maximals (and Predacons) end up in time periods they don't belong in. The Maximals of this film seem to roughly follow that characterisation, but there is a lot left unanswered about them. Oh, and G1 did actually have a few crossover comics with G.I. Joe and the Avengers 😆
I believe this was the time when Optimus Prime doesn't rrust humans, notice his behaviour at first towards human. After this event thats where he decided to protect humans so this is more related to the Bayverse than the Bumblebee movie.
Rise of the beasts followed the bumblebee movie but IS not a direct sequel to it. And airazor’s death was heartbreaking. The maximals were first introduced in 1996’s beast wars series.
Transformers and GI Joe crossed over in the comics way back in the late 80s/early 90s. They are both owned by hasbro and back then marvel printed their licensed comics. They had a short miniseries crossover again in the 00s, and there was an talk of crossing them over in the movies too, but between the Joe movies not being as successful and Bay himself, it was dead in the water. Having said all that, the stinger here is about the most heavyhanded, forced way to bring about the crossover to the big screen. I guess they could handwave that Sector 7 in the 80s merged with Joe in the 90s or something, but that's not in this movie so it's kinda doing all the homework for the producers.
GI Joe vs the Transformers was actually a miniseries by Marvel comics. And ... Spider-Man is kind of in the Transformers Marvel continuation as well. He actually appears in one of the early issues. Haha.
I like that Unicron's theme in the movie has some of the notes underneath from the original animated movie. But I would love to hear more of Vince Dicola's music in the live action universe.
The movie planted the seed that the transwarp key has the power to cross time. So that’s the time travel escape hatch to have an alternate “reboot” of the franchise
Mirage has more of Jazz's personality in this. I also have no idea who "Pete Davison" is. When I saw the credits, I was expecting Peter Davison to voice the character (the actor who was the 5th Doctor from the Doctor Who franchise, and Campion in the television adaptation of the book series)
Apelinq - is the former leader of the maximals and gave the leadership to Optimus primal - is the new leader of the maximals and have cheetor and airazor and rhinox under his command
all of them originate on cybertron but some left at different points also the maximals chose earth because they knew Optimus prime and his autobots were there in their past but they didn't know when so they chose early rather than later which is why they said they are from Optimus prime's past and future and Optimus primal is a fan boy for Optimus prime so that's another reason also in the bumblebee movie, bumblebee was chased and hunted by humans and Optimus prime knows this. also have you seen our movies with aliens most we humans try and kill them all who come to earth he probley was shown them by bee so that may not have helped also the ball robots falling from unicron are unicrons antibody's
To answer your title, It’s a reboot, along with bumblebee, they are a new continuity of movies to reset the universe and hopefully this time around it will turn out better than bays, imo, it’s better than the bay films, as much as those movies hold a special place in my heart, I grew up on those movies and they brought me into the wonderful world of transformers, they just aren’t the best besides the parts about big robots fighting

Don't get too gassed lol. The most they'll do with the g.i Joe part is show a couple characters in the movie to sell toys and merchandise
@@CFC__Cameron if they have a concept of a whole universe in their mind though, I wouldn't mind that. And as a hasbro toy and comic fan, I would love to have one.
I found out that day Harkins don't bolt down the chairs lol
Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts is a reboot entirely, but much of the Bayverse has had a huge influence on it. For example, Bumblebee resembles his Bayverse counterpart, and the music at the end of Rise of the Beasts was used in the other movies
I'm so glad James realized the Autobots Arrival theme from Transformers 2007 near the end.
Besides Optimus Prime I always remember Peter Cullen as Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh) and the announcer for Toonami.
the voice of the....Predator. That one caught me off-guard when I first looked it up.
@@Biostalker420 Did Knight Rider's heroic K.I.T.T.'s nemesis, the evil K.A.R.R.'s voice in the original and also the NBC relatively recent reboot of Knight Rider.
@@wren7195in Voltron Defender of the Universe (1981 cartoon mind you, not the 2016 reboot), he is the voice of Alfor, Coran, Commander Hawkins, Karp, and Viceroy Throk as well as the narrator

Was so sad primal having to kill his oldest friend, hits the feels, and it wasn’t her fault at all,
she just knew it would affect him
Just so you know for sure, it is a reboot
The only reason why people are still confused is because one of the producers still thinks it's connected to the Bay movies when literally the Director/Hasbro/Paramount and basically everyone else has said it's a reboot

I remember having a Cheetor transformer as a kid and it is one of the my favorite toys of all time. Also Peter Dinklage as Scourge gets me everytime.
@@JeffreyLong Yes they look very sharp upscaled, it's very well done, only thing is the audio quality is not the greatest.

Lol. I watched this in the cinema with my friend and told her while in the other movies Optimus felt like the caring parent/grandparent watching out for youz in this one he felt like the mean immature older sibling just trying to take care of his own siblings.
GI Joe and Transformers are both Hasbro toy line. In the comics there has been a crossover between the two.
22:40 Primus is the God of all the Cybertronians Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons and Titans he is also the brother of Unicron and Primus created the original 13 Primes.

I really love the designs they're going for and really enjoyed the transformations in this and Bumblebee. They felt more like robots in disguise instead of vehicles that can turn into giant robots if that makes any sense😅
I don't like it. They feel tiny and very easy to defeat. They don't look as regal as Bays designs

It's a sequel to the bumblebee movie, it's set within the bumblebee movie universe, which is a reboot of the franchise.
I like whoever directed THESE movies. It feels really like transformers, experiencing all the transformer's stories and where theyve been.
That Marky Mark was about Mark Wahlberg, leaving his group at the time and becoming an actor and he was in transformers so that’s kind of funny
First this is a reboot, and a Transformers G I Joe movie is in the works, the Airazor dieing scene made me cry so much the first time I saw it in theaters.😭❤️🦅
Mirage must feel so violated, not only was Noah inside him, he forced his way inside him. Mirage tried to lock him out multiple times.
@@colournutYes. Thanks for the correction. It's been a very long time since I've accessed those memory files in my brain. :)
Maximals and Autobots working together is the best thing they ever done
The music that plays when unicorn appears in the beginning is a redone version of his original music from the G1 movie.
those eggs arent just Well Done, theyre Congratulations.
Dark energon is a hell of a thing. Corrupts the living and brings the dead back to life under Unicron's thrall. And, occasionally, animates the inanimate as vessels of Unicron's power.
You should def check out the old CG Beast Wars series. In the series there's actually a good reason why the Transformers are using animal forms.

Fun fact: stratosphere was in revenge of the fallen but didn't have any robot mode scenes just he's plane mode
Love y’all for knowing Optimus NEVER loses twice😭
There was a G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover comic series, so technically it is a canon crossover. But to see a crossover like this on film is insane!
The Transformers had a crossover comic with GIJoe in the 90s. Cobra helped rebuild Megatron into a tank form, after Hasbro legally had to discontinue his gun form toy.
WHY ARE THEY THE ONLY ONES REALIZING THE THEME IN THE END?!?!
Some people do not like this Movie, Is because of course there's humans in it. In some reviews i watched about Rise Of The Beasts, Most people are wanting a Transformers film that takes place on Cybertron! With 0% humans.
I remember seeing this movie in the theaters since, last June and it’s my new favorite movie of transformers.
In 2024, a new Transformers movie completely animated is coming out. There’s definitely budget. Can’t wait for that.
yeah this Prime is still stuck in the war of Cybertron era. He's a soldier here.
This movie was a huge step backwards in the franchise
This Transformers movie is excellent.
Just so you know, there was a second end credits scene with Noah that wasn't in the video.
Fun fact, possessed cars are real if you count James Dean's cursed Porsche.
GI Joe vs the Transformers was actually a miniseries by Marvel comics. And ... Spider-Man is kind of in the Transformers Marvel continuation as well. He actually appears in one of the early issues. Haha.
GI Joe and Transformers have been shared universe since the 80s, crossing over in both comics and animation.
I like that Unicron's theme in the movie has some of the notes underneath from the original animated movie. But I would love to hear more of Vince Dicola's music in the live action universe.
this prime is like a young soldier still fighting the war whereas the Prime we use to get is the Older , much wiser Veteran
The movie planted the seed that the transwarp key has the power to cross time. So that’s the time travel escape hatch to have an alternate “reboot” of the franchise
I LOVED this movie, I have no idea why people are hating on it so much.
Optimus told Bee to protect the Planet, he didn't say shit about protecting the people on it.
This is a reboot, this events happened 7 years after bumblebee movie, and this is transformers 7
Yet people are still calling this a prequels to the Bay movies when it’s not. Unicron can’t be earth and try to eat earth at the same time
Mirage has more of Jazz's personality in this. I also have no idea who "Pete Davison" is. When I saw the credits, I was expecting Peter Davison to voice the character (the actor who was the 5th Doctor from the Doctor Who franchise, and Campion in the television adaptation of the book series)
He's basically MegaMan at the end with the one arm blaster.
Yes Bumblebee was actually a secret reboot and Transformers Rise Of The Beasts is the second film in the rebooted Transformers movie trilogy
The Planet of the Maximals it's Called Eucaris on the comics, it's a cybertronian colony with animal like transformers
Really sad we didn't get the whole Beast Wars: Transformers crew. I really wanted Rattrap.😢

I really wish there was more Cheetor too. He is one of my favorite characters
I saw this in theaters I knew right when bee died they were pulling a revenge of the fallen just with bee instead of Optimus
53:35 I mean, hey, the Transformers have also worked with the Avengers once too, it's not as crazy as it sounds lmao
Optimus primal and the other maximals are cybertronians from the future. Optimus primal named himself After the great optimus prime.
Prime, Primal and Tron are all the sacred names that the Cybertronians can have, Their known as Gods.
