PowerWheels Tire Upgrade

- After juicing the battery up with the Bosch power adapter, we were having massive slipping on the Jeep my son was driving. So I took an old set of mountain bike tires and cut them up and installed them onto the PowerWheels plastic wheels to give it some real grip!

Best video ive seen all week. 😂
Nice wheels buddy! your Dads a smart guy
Thanks T dog! 😅
Good father son time
Tightly wrap tape or small ratchet straps to apply pressure while glueing. Install adjustable voltage regulator between battery and motor. Lower voltage slower, higher voltage will go faster but could burn up motor. Then let them rip 👍
I use the fuse to prevent the motor from blowing, seems to be good, 3 years running!
Awesome video love it! I’ve always wondered why on earth these powerwheels have plastic tires. They’re crack and work terribly. Love this video ❤
Thanks so much for the positive feedback! I thought the same thing, plastic wheels are useless!
They actually put the plastic wheels on purpose. If you add more traction, it will wear out the gearing a lot faster.
@@louiev2140 hey fun has to come at a cost!
Great dad! Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks!
Idk you didn't use brand new. Knonny tire on it u get 26inch huge knobyy tire at wallmart
Thank you for sharing this ! I’m trying to updgrade my kids power wheels so thanks 🙏
Most welcome! It was fun to make for sure!
Also take them Lil bs jeep tire off snd and put Escalade tire oit
I'm glad to see it pop wheelies so I want to know did they survive drifting and skids? I'm thing too ad traction to razor ground force drifter wheels and tried stapling t treads on but when I tested the wheels by holding the kart and letting the tires skid for a minute, one by t one, each tread flew off, one of them splitting in half. I did want to try a nail gun and small nails but really don't want to ruin the wheels to bad
The treads have lasted a year and still going! Works awesome! Good luck!
@@HandcraftedbyChrisPalmer oh i forget to mention its 48v 2000w
@@Mike_Greene sounds like even more fun!
@@HandcraftedbyChrisPalmer rubber would make it completely fun lol. im gonna try screws in a few
@@Mike_Greene if you have it, crown stapler is perfect!
How do you think bed liner would work? Would that provide enough traction?
That would be interesting, how the bond would hold up to the plastic, give it a go!
So how long (minutes) does the Jeep Run on the drill pack?
Pending size of battery. 2 Ah goes 20 min and 4 Ah they usually clear 30 depending on how hard they drive
Only the back tires is need it? How long does it ride? Didnt brake? Ty
Yes back tires as they are the ones that drive the jeep. If it had 4 wheel drive, than I'd do all 4 tires.
Which adhesive did the best?
I think the AK Fix did better but honestly they are both holding still 3 years later!
Does it matter if I get a 12volt vehicle vs a 24 volt version if I’m gonna upgrade the battery regardless? I wanna get my son one of these.
If you buy 12V you can upgrade to 18v but if it's 24v you'll be downgrading unless you Amp it up 40V
Yes it .atters
@@HandcraftedbyChrisPalmeruse Escalade tir🎉e
I have to cut ring out
this isn't an upgrade, this is a downgrade
Ok, and why would you say that? Plastic with no grip vs rubber tire wrap with grip? Odd comment.
