    Nice my boys tractor is getting a upgrade. I was looking at his tractor today and wondering why there wasn’t any rubber. Even a just a quarter inch wide band in the middle of the tire. My boys tractor is fairly new and the wheels have a groove for a rubber band. So I was thinking did I not get those bands in the box or something.

    I will definitely try this with my kid's Chinese tractor. The only problem is that it has a single 18W 6V motor....so it's pretty weak.....any ideas on how to increase power?

    • @OurFruitfulFamily
      @OurFruitfulFamily  Год назад +1

      I put a 20v Dewalt battery adapter in his! Worked well. Made it way faster too. Basically let you use 20 V DeWalt batteries. You could try a 12v adapter in yours or any adapter to fit whatever power tools you use. You can find them on Amazon.

      @@OurFruitfulFamily Thanks! where should I connect the battery adapter? directly to the engine? the small engine is only 6 volts,

    • @OurFruitfulFamily
      @OurFruitfulFamily  Год назад +2

      You definitely don’t want to overpower the gearbox. I would probably try a 12 V upgrade first. This is obviously against the manufacture recommendations so the risk is on you. Mine was a 6 V and I put a 20 V battery in. To install, you essentially replace the connector that would normally attach to your battery with the connector on the adapter. It’s very simple. Just cut the two wires and splice them to the adapter.

      Electrician here- Do not increase the voltage to your tractor. Over voltage will destroy an electric motor. Only use the recommended 6V battery. You can however increase the batteries capacity by getting a BIGGER battery

    How is your gear box holding up? On my daughter's Dewalt 20v Barbie Jeep, i was told that rubber will ruin gearboxes, and to upgrade to steel gears. For Peg Perego, I don't see steel gears for sale, and the gear boxes look like they better quality.... Thoughts?

    • @OurFruitfulFamily
      @OurFruitfulFamily  Год назад +2

      If I am being honest, his gearbox is stripped out twice before I ever made any upgrades. They stripped out another two times before I decided to just get him something better lol. I did not find that they stripped out any more than they already had been. Gear boxes on those toys are generally made cheap. If you could get a steel gearbox, somehow, that would be a terrific upgrade. I ordered replacement gear boxes for his from Amazon for around 50 bucks. our property and Arkansas is very hilly and he like to follow us on trails in the woods, so it was simply not made for our heavy use in general.

      @@OurFruitfulFamily good to know, thank you! i'll definitely need better traction as well for my back yard. $50 doesn't seem too bad, though, for replacement gear boxes! hard to put a price on teaching them how to mow the lawn, i mean, important driving skills and letting them have fun....... ha

    • @OurFruitfulFamily

      When I first did both of these upgrades… He was too lightweight to keep the front in on the ground because of the amount of torque. I opened up the hood and added some heavy stuff and fastened it under the hood in order to better balance out the tractor for the new torque levels.

      @OurFruitfulFamily  2 года назад +1

      Oh yes! The first time it happened was before I made any upgrades at all. Had to change the back right gearbox out. Another one just stripped out not too long ago so he is out of commission at the moment. He doesn’t know this but we got him an upgrade for his birthday coming up so I may take my time replacing the gearbox this time but this will be my second gearbox.
