    When I started my career, I worked for very small contractors who worked for bigger companies. These contractors didn't have the practice of giving offer letter, relieving letter. They pay us the salary on any date in a month.
    How should one handle this?
    How BGV is done for such cases?
    And in some cases, the reference manager is no longer with the company or the company itself is closed. How does it work?

      In that cases if the verification couldn't be done due to the closure of the company they would check with your subsequent companies you have joined. If other companies give good references based on that they will clear your earlier company.
      If not they will ask you any outside reference with respect to that small company, maybe a collegue.

    hey Anand.. gud to know abt BGV for candidates.. How do employees check company cultures/ manager attitudes.. bcoz these days glassdoor I have observed 1 negative feedback will be followed by 5-6 5 out 5 stars feedback. I feel glassdoor is becoming faking portal too.
    So in the above case how do we check companys' culture and ethics..

    Hi sir, i have one doubt, example one female person working in a company, she going to releive company due to no increase in salary, but she informing to hr and department head due to personal reasons going to releive, but she joined in another company. In that new joined company after joining 5 days , they sending a mail to old worked company HR head. In this scenario what will happen to that female workers.. Reply me sir please

    Bgv is not cross verify your details from your resume..
    Affer loa when you fill out the details to your new employer now it should be correct.

    what abt the gap experience ? ifa candidatehidesthat gap & he/she shows only the last 2/3 prev.employers expnce details.Instead of 4/5 companies,he/she showsonly 2 companies data in his cv...is this a violation ?

      Depends on the set of scope. Company may check last two employments or employment for last 7 years or 10 years not more than that.

    Hello sir, I recently got selected in British High commission as visa support assistant, the recruitment officer sent me a draft and have all the checks like first medical, refrence check,they then ask me to fill BGV , I don't know how do they do it, after that an associate of their third party come to verify my address verification, and mam said in last mail the tentative date of joining is 1st April, it's been 7 days since address verification and no response for my actual offer letter, so if you can help what went wrong or should I still wait for 2 more days. Because in last mail they didn't respond. Which was sent by me before address verification.
    Please help.

    I worked for a company for 6 months they created pf account for me in 2019
    After that immediatly i joined another company and they created my pf account recently in 2023 ......sir if i leave this job now..will employer question why the pf duration is since 2023 ??

    I think barely anyone does the bgv in the small-sized and mid-sized companies. Because their HR themselves hide many of their details on LinkedIn or other platforms.
    And almost everyone in life someway or other goes through some or the other bad phase such as not able to keep the good relationship with the former employers/colleagues, getting themselves under false cases.
    Small and mid sized are dire need of or getting the employees. So, they don't go after such checks or else they will end up getting no one to work for them

      ​Hi i worked in an organization for 3 years and i resigned to former company due to some conflicts with my manager. HR gave me relieving without notice period. But in our former organization everybody HR, Managers, TLs, Coders, including housekeeping staff also plays politics. So iam soo scared regarding my background verification. I will provide all my genuine documents to my new company. Did our former company can do anything bad to me in BGV. Please give me reply because you worked in many companies. Because this is my first job first company and i don't want to take any negative energy from my former company to new company.

      @@kanurunethry9326 you have already got the relieving. So, there is no chance that they can do anything bad.
      But even if they do bad then at the time of the interview explain your case with the truth. And possibly do have some proof to support your words. Such as if you have the leave balance in your pay slips continuously then you can tell them that I have barely taken any leaves during my tenure which can support your genuineness.
      You can even tell them that I have acquired these and these skills, if I am unfit then how could I acquire the skills in the first place.
      Ultimately, you need to have support for your words. Despite that if HR still doesn't approve you then you can't do much. There are several HRs who don't know how to hire the proper candidates. So, nothing much to worry about. Do your best 🙏

      ​@@kanurunethry9326depends upon market and recruiting needs, if your new company wants more resources they will not see negative remarks as a thing but if they want to fire you, no reason needed for them, they can terminate immediately with fake reasons.

    Sir , after graduation i worked in BPO for 8 months after that I absconded and i joined IT as freshser and i worked there for 2years. I have proper offer, releiving letter ..and now i got another company offer i stated them as 2 years experience by neglecting that bpo experience would that be an impact on bgv ..or they will check only the relevanc experience?

    Hi sir i joined in bpo company as apprentice they said till 1 year we will not create esi pf i informed them due to night shift i am facing health issues so i can't able to serve notice period, i worked there for 1 week and i quit they said for health reasons also we will mark as abscond for apprentice how they will abscond me sir? For job only they can abscond me for apprentice??I am going to join in another it company is there any problem sir no PF created

      Don't put that company where you absconded. They only verify by using what data you gave to them.

    Another observation we saw was that a person got removed for submitting a false certificate after few months of joining.
    This was an employee who got multiple performance awards for excellent work and got selected to be a project leader for a six sigma project where our team was involved. His leader vigorously opposed his removal for this background check after this long period due to his excellent performance but due to rules he had to go
    We also were very sad to loose him as a project leader and another less capable person got appointed in his place.
    Here company looses more on such late background checks. We loose good employees and some forgiveness in this case could have been given.

      That's correct Samir. Companies should have mechanisms in place to make exceptions for such corner cases or rare scenarios 🙌

      There might have been some other reason also have attached in his removal process, the company the management mostly hold it as long as the employee is sounding okay and beneficial to them.

    Please suggest.
    Currently iam in notice period.
    My father name is present incorrectly in epfo protal and uan.
    I already send joint declaration form for father name correction.dont know how much time it will take.
    With in a month i have to join new organization.will incorrect father name in epfo will create any problem in background verification.
    Do IT company checks father name in epfo portal for background verification.

    1) Do the Background Verification company go to the physical address of our previous employer to verify ,if the organisation we have worked for is a small company or firm?
    2) They only verify work experience from email or do they do physical field verification of work experience also?

    What does not bother me is check on remnuration, position, and tenure - there are documents that address that. The problem is giving malicious feedback regarding charachter, and other subjective attributes. Much scope for passive aggressive vengeance. Cant trust people have integrities.

      I second this! Authentication of documents is never an issue with most candidates if not all. It's about the soft aspects especially since bgv companies directly try to reach out to reporting managers.

    What you say on background check is the way it is supposed to do.
    But my experience regarding to it is much different.
    I joined a company in 2016 and without any background check worked in a particular process where this check was not required. Than after a few years I got transferred to another process as per company requirement where they did this check for me.
    I find it laughable since it took them almost a month to do it and our training started after that went ok. In the meantime we ideally sat without any work (received full salary in those periods).
    This check makes sense at the time a person joins the company and not after years of joining when performing matters more.

      ​ and what if your company ask you about your UAN no (your PF account ) .how you will handle this ? do they ask about it while joining .or just experience letter is enough . i m in the similar situation have aprx 3 year gap ..can anyone guide me here ?

      @@ajaygautam832 if your PF account has been opened than your UAN stays with you throughout your life till age 58. This is irrespective whether you continue in same job or change multiple jobs or have gaps of few months/years between job switches.
      All the new companies require is details like UAN. From that they can track your job history without your telling it. Experience letter is important, and so are PF details.

    Dear Sir, thankyou for the insightful information.
    Can you tell me - that in case a company is totally shut down - a candidate can increase the employment tenure (let us say 6 months was actual)
    So can the person use 2017 to 2018 - ? Note : Company got sold to another company and then permanently shut down.

Mera TCS me ho gya.or Mai HCL ke phle TEC Mahendra me tha tec Mahendra me mera bgv failed ho gya tha but mere ko tec Mahendra wale ne experience letter or termination letter or full and final sara documents diya h.. tcs wale mere se tec Mahendra ka experience letter manga tho mai de diya hu..tho mera question ye h ki TCS wale ko pta chl jayegaa kya ki mera tec Mahendra me by failed huaa tha or mere ko TCS wale fired kr dege kya..

    Hi sir... Thanks for the good video. Why does a company want to know whether there were situations in which one could not pay the bank debt / or any legal proceedings? If there were situations when one could not pay due to unemployment but paid later with a settlement amount, is that a reason not to proceed with the hire even after giving the offer letter?

    Hello Sir I need your help.
    At the end of this March 2023, My 6 months SDE Internship at XYZ company is completing.
    I have completed my graduation in BSC-Compter Sci and currently I am an MSC-CS student in my final semester.
    MSC-CS last semester is for Industrial Training or Internship program.
    The company where I am working now they are saying because you are currently in your last semester you are a student and as a student, you are not eligible for a full-time offer.
    During the time of Document Verification, it can cause an issue.
    But My college HOD says there is no such rule which is saying that during this last semester, you can not work as full-time.
    The company is ready to give PPO later but says that you can only join after your this semester is completed.
    What should I do?

      Hi Amol, Some companies allow you to join only once the degree is completed. It may be their company policy and has nothing to do with college. Are they giving you an offer to join after the degree? What is PPO?

      @@CareerTalk yes they are giving me Pre Placement Offer .They give me 2 options 1 take 2 months gap or extend internship by 2 months.
      But to receive my final result it takes around 4 months
      What I am saying is if i am not a regular student they should allow me for full time.
      If they can allow to join me as full time employee before final result (after 2 months) then why not now.
      I want to know from you if they not provide my final result of MSC what is result of my background verification?
      My some friends just give graduation documents to company and not mention MSC results and they are working as full time.
      If I do so there is any negative impact?

    I had a small criminal record, but I'm not convicted by the court. Is that will be a problem when doing a background check. I was only charged a 800 rupees fine.

    Sir, If a employee is laid off from current company, he would not disclose in front of new employer, but in verification if they find out that, then it is not possible to be hired a Laid off employee.

      Hi Nisha, it depends on what is mentioned in the relieving letter or experience letter issued at the time of separation.

    Hey, if the organization asks for salary slips and experience letter from all the previous companies, will they check it from all the companies or just last or previous company? Its actually a start up so i wanted to know.

    Actually I have filled 60 days my notice period on TCS ibegin portal ( because company will release me after 21 days but company take more 30 days to provide my experience and reliving letter. so total sum is 51 days due to this reason i filled 60 days) but official notice period is just 21 days.
    I am worried about my BGC process if get failed due to this reason. please help me

    there should be a platform/service for background check of "companies", that way you can at least verify the company you applied to is legit.

    I worked in an organization for 8 months and joined another one without serving notice period in the former. I never mentioned any work experience of that while applying in this new company. Will that affect in future? Because going forward I won't use the first company experience in future. But will they find it?
