I liked it. I usually fast forward through parts I don't like and I watched both movies straight through. Enjoyed it.

I will leave a comment and a like 1. for the algorythme 2. for making the effort to defend what so many other spit on without any reflexion.
I will gladly say that I like Snyder's esthetic in his movies, but I can also see why other don't like what he does, and I'm not an unconditional fan of his work.
But still, the man is trying, he puts so much heart and passion in what he does that you can't blame him just out of context. Yes, he's better at bringing comics on screen, yes he uses to much slow effect, yeeees sometime he lacks inspiration and mixes bunch of other stuff. But come on, who else today is so grandiose ? so iconic with money shots and characters, who tries that much to bring greatness to his characters even though he misses sometimes (too many times) the shot ?
I respect the man for what he's trying to do, and as for Rebel Moon, I see a fan who tried to bring together everything he loves about pop culture and gave birth to a frankenstein monster with qualities and flaws. So he's not achieving to really create something, I know. But do we ? I think it's still better as some other companies that milk old franchises in too many baaad movies...
Just adressing ONe complaint I have seen too much : "ooooh the scene of the harvest is too long, who cares about grain, give us action, bla bla bla...". I don't get that people can't understand that Snyder is just celebrating the simple things of life. He celebrates the very base of what made humans as a civilisation, what brought us together in village, cities etc... a simple act opposed to the vast mechanics of the empire they will soon have to fight. I loved this scene, just like the one in Matrix III when they dance, that celebrates life and passion over the machines with no emotions.
Yes it's cheap, maybe even cringe. But don't pretend like it's not easy to understand why and how those scenes exist in the movie. Give the man credit for what he's trying to do. It doesn't work always, or on anyone. But it's not all garbage.
    Well...
Please write less cliché-characters ? That would be great.
(Raise your hand if you thought the princess was gonna be evil and Arthelais had to kill her because of that...)

Hey man I appreciate the support and the well articulated points.✊🏼 Yeah I too acknowledge the flaws in this film and don’t think it’s a great movie. But I too can appreciate what the man is going for.

I can see why the studio turned it down as a Star Wars film, because Disney already had a film with the same plot.
    It's called _A Bug's Life._

I liked the movies. Especially the 40k aesthetics. I have big issues with script but it's issues that can be easily fixed, and don't break the movies for me. For me the most important thing is that I like the characters. It's a low bar, but nowadays not all tv shows and movies reach even that level.

    • @NerdyRambling
      @NerdyRambling  2 месяца назад

Most movies & tv shows can’t reach it nor do I think they should
Be expected to. But of course I would’ve wished for these movies to be the very best and original as possible. But since something like George Lucas Star Wars already exist I Didn’t need this to be that. I would imagine Warhammer fans feel similarly.

If there is a need for movie's director cut for it to be even remotely intresting than it's safe to say the movie failed big time, Also it's the kind of gimmick that only works once or twice.

If an artist has the option to fully realize a vision should they not do it? Or should they conform to the status quo of what a film allegedly "should be" or "how it should be made. "

Make a space movie today with an oppressive galactic force and you can claim they stole from half a dozen franchises at this point, this was good content that drew inspiration from the world of Star Wars and dune, and apparently 40k, who gives a shit, it had a good arc, a fleshed out world, good acting and the best special effects that we love.
