Brother Bro was either crying before the video or did a couple of hits of the good stuff.
KING! Congrats on the invite to Cannes!
you deserve it! I'm sorry for brother bro, though, I feel like I'm the brother bro of my family
He didn’t apply, he wasn’t able to go this year, but maybe in the future if we’re invited back!
Congrats on Cannes, This lineup seems great and potential for the Oscar Race.
My 10 Most Anticipated:
- Paris 13th District (Jacques Audiard)
- The French Dispatch (Wes Anderson)
- A Hero (Asghar Farhadi)
- Red Rocket (Sean Baker)
- France (Bruno Dumont, very underrated director)
- Drive My Car (Rysuke Hamaguchi, director of Asako I & II)
- Benedetta (Paul Verhoeven)
- The Worst Person in the World (Joachim Trier)
- Everything Went Fine (Francois Ozon)
- Bergman Island (Mia Hansen-Love)
Overall, really epic lineup but I'm rooting for Jacques Audiard to win his second Palme d'Or.
''Jane by Charlotte'' is a documentary that Charlotte Gainsbourg made dedicated to her mother, the French icon Jane Birkin.
My five most anticipated: After Yang, Red Rocket, A Hero, The French Dispatch, Annette
surprised after yang isn't in competition considering how fucking amazing columbus was
@@mohamedizlanshah1501 reminds me of The Lighthouse.
Excited for A Hero!
Farhadi should have won screenplay for A Separation imo
Lucky! You deserve this prestigious honor my friend.
From what I hear there will also be a blockbuster screening and closing film yet to be announced.
Who knows, it could be Dune(DENIS VILLENEUVE)🤔🤔.
@@hubertphu7026 That has been confirmed to NOT be it
@@TheOscarExpert Dang, that sucks.
Hopefully The French Dispatch is an EXCELLENT film from Wes Anderson🙂
Eternals?
I think it will be most likely Black Widow oJungle Cruise , or Boss Baby 2 Generally when a blockbuster movie premieres at cannes out of competition,it’s a movie that is being released around the same time and have big name stars, and is done more for publicity not for any prestige. I mean Blues Brothers 2000, x men last stand, Godzilla(97) and Over the Hedge, and Revenge of the sign all premiered at Cannes out of competition, it’s not all ways a movie of quality.
Congrats on getting Press! I’m going as part of the 3 days in Cannes program and I am unbelievably excited.
Congratulations! Super happy for you getting to go to Cannes.
Congrats Cole! It’s an awesome news! Can’t wait to hear your coverage!
WOO FIRST! Excited :)
I'm already living for the vlog
My most anticipated films for Cannes are: Red Rocket, French Dispatch, A Hero, Paris 13th District, Blue Bayou, and Stillwater!
Omg!! Congrats! Genuinely so happy for you🥺 You guys are fantastic Xx
Though minor mistakes in writing are acceptable to most, I prefer to correct my grammatical errors (OCD?) so, unfortunately, you must endure my high praise once again. Here goes!
Ohh DAMN! I am so, SO happy that you are going. Your acceptance is a testament to the extremely high quality and relevance that you, and your amazing brother's, blog emanates. All of your content is of the highest caliber, with absolutely no chafe! Congratulations, and I seriously anticipate your correspondence from the Lido.
Congratulations on the Cannes invite!! You deserve it, and we look forward to your reviews! Brother Bro also needs to apply next year!

You going to Cannes is so cool! Congrats!
Congratulations, and looking forward to your cannes video.
Yo, that's sick!!! Huge congrats, Cannes is a massive deal. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on After Yang & Titane if you get to see them!
You made my day when you said Bergman Island...been waiting for that film for a couple years. I also added a bunch of films to my watchlist. Enjoy your trip!
I got to see The Salesman at TIFF and Farhadi and Shahab Hosseini (the star of the film) were there. So fucking cool. It's also just, as an Iranian-American, so exciting to see an Iranian filmmaker become this internationally acclaimed and I see people getting excited about his films.
is brother bro not going?
So excited for you!!! You guys have a wonderful chance to help revitalize cinema for younger generations. I hope you both continue on as ambassadors for quality international cinema & the value of the Oscars. Have a great experience!
Hey guys! Big fan of your channel and congrats on Cannes! I was wondering if you could make a video explaining how film festivals work like Cannes? Like some films are in competition vs out of competition and how choosing a winner works? Also yes please vlog when you’re there in July!
Really excited for “The French Dispatch.” I’m predicting greatness.
I’m attending the Tribeca Film Festival on June 9th. Excited for that.
I'm attending too ! See you there ;)
"Annette" soundtrack is just out . Well pumped if you do not like it "What's your problem" as Adam Driver presses home on one of the tracks
CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉❤
I was surprised that The Tragedy of Macbeth isn't going to premiere at Cannes. The last Macbeth adaptation premiered at Cannes and the Coen Brothers have had films at Cannes before. That's the only film I was anxiously anticipating to be at Cannes this year. I more or less expected the rest of the official selection to be at Cannes this year.
It might go to Venice where Ballad of Buster Scruggs premiered.
Congrats bro!
F9 = future palme d’or winner
Asghar and Apichatpong ftw! 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Awesome. Enjoy Cannes.
Waassuup my dude
WHAT CONGRATS
it's a great line up, see you at Cannes then.
Do you think other festivals will be in completely person or continue the virtual screening this yaer. I liked virtual screening as it gave people like me who don’t have the money or time to go to these festivals a chance to see these movies, so I’m not left in the cold.
Congrats!
Also being the experts, what do you predict is going to be the likely winner of Palme d'Or/ Grand Pix?
I’ll see you there!!!
Where to watch these movies
How did u guys make those posters behind y’all??
Compartment No. 6 is by Juho Kuosmanen who won Un Certain Regard five years ago and this is his follow-up. You win UCR and you almost automatically get to play in the big game
Titane is a gory body horror film in my understanding. I'm surprised and excited it is in competition. Would love to watch that on the Lumière screen.
Will brother bro accompany you and will you review each movie that you're gonna see?
Blue Bayou really caught my attention.
Memoria all the way!!!!
I was able to go to 2019 Cannes via 3-day program and saw 9 movies (all competition) and the Stallone masterclass during the last 3 days, which was truly unique and epic, despite its short length. Parasite screening experience at the Debussy theatre is unmatched compared to my 4 other Parasite experiences afterwards.
I don’t know how Cannes will be like this year, but one thing I would recommend is getting the opportunity of seeing the winners in person on the last day of the fest in some shape or form, if you have the time. Also it’ll be fun to see your live reactions of the winners from the live-stream ceremony via some monitors or TVs located outside and inside the Cannes building. I read about the 2019 winners right after I saw “Little Joe” there.
I was actually waiting to get to any available screening post awards announcement, but they were all full. Coincidentally some winners were exiting the press conference room slowly one-by-one, so it was cool seeing that happen in person. Sciamma (holding her award in her hands) and some festival-goers for instance were talking with each other in the halls. Bong and Song were walking down the halls, and ending the festival by me quickly congratulating Song Kang Ho in Korean and shaking his hand was certainly a cherry-on-top to say the very least.
Congratulations on the invite!!! I putting my bets on either Annette, Memoria, Red Rocket, The French Dispatch or Benedetta for a Palme D'or winner.
When French Dispatch comes out. I'm planning to review all of Wes Anderson films.
My favorite is actually Moonrise Kingdom.
TELL US EVERYTHING PLEASE LIVE TWEET THE WHOLE FESTIVAL
I'm so incredibly jelaous! I wish I could go...
Red Rocket has no stars? Dang, proves how underrated Simon Rex is.
I've been a fan of that dude since Scary Movie 3.
Don’t forget Fast 9
I assume Jane refers to Charlotte’s mother Jane Birkin?
what about the pta ??
ASGHAR FARHADI -WOOOOOOWWWWW! EVEN 'EVERYBODY KNOWS' WAS STELLAR IMO.
Okay yes Cannes. But what will you WEAR?
Do you think Anette could be a contender for Best International Film at next year's Oscars?
It won't be eligible since it's English language
How about nomadland do you think it could be a contender for Palme d'or?
@@jericvincentgaspar7436 Nomadland won Best Picture at the Oscars back in April
Guys, do You think some Annette songs from the ost (including so may we start) could be on the Oscar 2022? Do You think that Driver or Cotillard could be nominated from Best actors at the season Awards?
@@jericvincentgaspar7436 It has a June 9th, 2021 French release date.
I’m most excited to see avatar 4
This is my most anticipated movie coming up
justin chon started as a youtuber
Where's the American "planetary blockbuster" that was teased?
It is a secret screening that hasn’t been announced yet.
Could it be Eternals?
THE LADY OF HEAVEN will be one of the best movies
So no Soggy Bottom at Cannes?!! That's disappointing.
I think it's going to premiere at Tiff.
Joachim Trier to win the Palme at last!
his new film does look great. louder than bombs was one of the worst things i have seen in my entire life. thelma was rather meh.
Hii plz 🙏tell whether Indians actress are allowed this year or not.. I desperately want Hina khan to go.. This will be her second time.. She debut in 2019 and she was one of the best dressed actress.
Monsieur Cole sait-il parler français...?
Sean Baker’s Starlet from 2012 was already about a porn actor. I wonder if they will be connected.
Red Rocket has no stars? Put some respect on Dirty Nasty’s name.
