    I have a positive tip for you, if you don’t count the chain 3 as a stitch and slip stitch into the first double crochet you will eliminate the seam and it will become more invisible! 💕🧶

    Thank you for this tutorial! I've made an adult hat and added the ribbed effect (front post, back post) from your ponytail holder video. It looks fantastic! I also started with a chain 5, slip stitch to make a ring then chain three. It worked perfect.

    I crochet but had never done a hat before and I must looked at 20 videos. Not to mention that I pulled apart 7 hats in the making because the video didn't make sense then I found this one and finally my first hat is done and it fits me❤️❤️❤️. My only advice is when you get to top of each row slow down a bit it was a little had to tell where the first double crochet went. Otherwise your amazing 😉!!! Thank you

    Now I am hooked on this one after my flower! What a night! This is awesome and I am happy to see counting! That will surely help me. I look at the circle and I just wonder at what point does it curl and not just get wider like a scarf. If you can comment on that it would be wonderful. I thought when you use back loops that makes it shape. Your opinion is appreciated. Thanks again for a wonderful night of education and enjoyment.

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  8 лет назад

      there isnt any decrease, its all increases. It should fit, so you could go up a size in your hook or increase another round, but I think an increase would be too much.

    • @CrochetJewel

      yeah you could a chain 5 slip stitch to form a ring, then do a chain 3 for a dc, then rest of the dc in the ring for round 1 instead of a magic circle.

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  9 лет назад

      +Fernande McGuire 1st ear flap, you can slip stitch onto the side of the hat with your yellow yarn, begin the dc stitches, (like to have the seam in the back of the hat, so I do the ear flap on the side of the hat)2nd flap, fold hat in half and sl st in dc directly across from the last dc from the other ear flap. Follow directions below for both ear flaps.
      Row 1. ch 2, dc in the next 11 dc stitches, turn. -11 sts
      Row 2. ch 2, dc2tog. dc in the next 6 stitches. dc2tog. dc in the last st. turn. -9
      Row 3. ch 2, dc2tog, dc in the next 4 stitches. dc2tog. dc in the last st., turn. -7
      Row 4. ch 2, dc2tog, dc in the next 2 stitches. dc2tog. dc in the last st. turn. -5
      Row 5. ch 2, dc2tog twice, dc in last st. cut yarn and pull through -3

    I have 1 question and 1 request. The question is regarding this hat; to make for a 6-7 year old child, where do I look for which hook to use? My request is for another hat. My nephew would like a chevron style beanie with the sharp points. I can’t find any tutorials for that type. (He would need an adult size. I would really appreciate it you could make a tutorial for it.

    • @CrochetJewel
      @CrochetJewel  8 лет назад

      +Laura walsh I use medium worsted yarn, red heart, that usually works for this kind of hat, but if you use thinner it should be ok
