    I love your tips on where to put your tools when working. It's those little details that make the project more pleasant.

      Wow. Thank you. This is one of the things that we've tried to carry on from some of our pre-RUclips mentors...bosses that worked hard hand-nailing and working without tele-handlers. - Guys that used to write articles for the magazines we edited and the tradeshows we presented at. I don't mean to give you my life story, but without these people...these practitioners of ruthless efficiency and the "no look grab"...we'd have a lot less to say. We're only channeling them and not just what they taught us, but HOW they taught us to think.

    What were you using for the rails? Ate those 4 x 4s that you tapered?

    • @myfixituplife
      @myfixituplife  4 месяца назад +1

      Rails are not 4x4s. When you buy the fence package, the tapered rails come with it. - Here, I’m tapering rails for a short run. For typical runs, there is no need to taper. - Does this help?

      @@myfixituplife Thank you. Answers my question. I am building a fence but buying lumber and figuring it out myself. Might have been easier to buy a kit.

      @@northernoutlier no kit needed for split rail. Measure your rails.Mine are 10 1/2-feet I think. Center your post holes so they can accept the fence rail.

      @@northernoutlier Glad to help. Call a local lumber yard or fencing supplier. In fact, the big fence I installers around me also retail their supply. They might even plan the fence for you if you bring them measurements and buy from them. They'll deliver, too. Worth checking into.

    The editing was driving me crazy. Seems chaotic and jumpy.

    "Mr split rail fence inventor guy....or girl." I can assure you that the invention of the split rail fence was not made by a woman. Lol But hey, we gotta be politically correct no matter how absurd. 😂

      Probably. On the other hand, the architect/engineer of the Brooklyn Bridge died of like gangrene or something after his foot got crushed on site. Any idea who finished that puppy?
