There are quite a few places this system would work around the greater New Orleans area. This would be an excellent system to use down in the Marigny/Bywater area. You have these 20 foot wide houses on 25 foot wide lots. That leaves a 30" walkway up each side. The window sills are at about 5,' and every window has a window air conditioner sticking out of it. I know a sub that had to carry everything through a customer's house, including concrete. I'd like to add that many of the fences between the houses are 4', 9 ga. twist up. Those off cuts from the post could make for great matching garden bed fencing to match the new fence this way you could save them from landfill. Just food for thought, the idea popped into my head when I saw how much you were cutting off the post and the slotted sidings the whole lot could make neat garden beds and saves all them off cuts from landfill. I know I would use them, if I lived in the States. I will have to see if this system is in Australia. Excellent video! For years I've been thinking about how to have a galvanized pipe driven into the ground and become the backbone for all my posts. Your adapter donuts are the ticket. Did you design them and come up with this system?
compared to a typical vinyl fence, id imagine this is far superior having the metal posts on the inside. it always amazes me that typical vinyl fences are just hollow plastic more or less.
Beautiful job, quality folks doing the job! I like the thoughts on how to orient height of sections relational to ground. That's always been a dilemma when I try to decide if any particular fence looks right in that regard. I guess every job is different, whatever pleases the eye. I've seen fences on a hillside with 20+" gaps at the bottom on lower side section. That looks terrible to me. Even so, I surely would not know how to remedy it.
My neighbour behind me just replaced his 50 year old cedar fence with a vinyl fence and it took the company installing it nearly a MONTH to put the fence in with a 6 man team. That's pretty sad considering that when we moved here 50 years ago, 6 people installed Cedar fences for 4 properties in 5 days (All of the neighbours worked together on them). The installers were complete morons. From digging the holes to put concrete around the post and letting them sit for a week to not bringing enough material despite a huge trailer to complete even a single side of property. Same fence with morons installing them. You guys just showed that there are still people who know what they're doing. Kudos
Absolutely love the pride that they take in their work. I'm still in the fence about this method though 😂. I feel like this can't be stronger then a wood post system.
I got to tell you this is legit it looks amazing. I live down here in Florida and did all the post hole digging myself so this would have been nice LOL great job guys
So much to learn here ... regarding fencing or otherwise. I need to replace 2 gate latch posts, over a concrete walkway, that cannot be effectively fastened to the structure they are against. This pole option might be an option.
I am continually impressed with the no dig method. Minus five points for Dan for not beginning his post marks around the utilities and plus five points for the Minions, because they worked with Dan all day. And the winner is Mark. Lol, great job, of course, thanks again team.
How would this work in North Texas? We don’t get much frost heave, but we get heave from the clay soil expanding and shrinking with the moisture level.
Dewalt impact with Milwaukee bits, you got a subscriber... 😂 But seriously, you guys have great workflow and on the job demeanor. Looking forward to watching more of your channel and learning some extra stuff!
How do those posts hold up over time and ground movement? Or, potentially, the posts sinking or rising? I don't do that work, so these are simply ponder questions on my part out of ignorance.
Hi i've been enjoying this video more than all my years of retirement .Why ? cos everybody has a smarter and better opinion than the "thruth" of things. My question is What are the tempereture limits or duration (years)of a vinyl fence in northern Europe.
Ooh, great question. I'm afraid I won't really be able to answer that. The quality of vinyl we purchase performs well in Wyoming, and it's not uncommon for us to dip below -17 °C even as low as -30 °C on occasion. But we don't hang out there for weeks on end like I imagine you all do in northern Europe. 🥶
When trying this in the southern US, I invariably hit giant rocks. What do you do when Driving in a post like this and you hit a massive rock one foot in?
This method isn't really for really rocky ground. We have a considerable amount of rocky ground around here, and we choose our method based on ground conditions. You can still drive in rockier ground, but it takes better equipment. ruclips.net/video/mVx-ITNKGR8/видео.html
I would love to have you install a fence like that for me here in IL. But how much is the cost? Dealing with that here in C IL. They want 10K for 170' of cheap vinyl fencing w/2 gates, if they can even get the vinyl. 8K for treated fence. 2 Neighbors said they were wanting to add a fence and I told them good luck and hold onto your wallet. They came back and said they did not need a fence that badly....... I appreciate good workmanship, but I guess I can't afford it anymore, and after a back injury, I'm not able to do it myself anymore. Sons are busy with work and family, but they did help me repair my cedar fence. The local cable locating person after locating my utilities said I should not work in my back area since a main fiberoptic cable junctions there. I said I am not digging, they looked puzzled. I rigged up my own hydro/vac soil removal system and it worked like a charm down to 44/46" for the 20 year old 16 gal Craftsman wet vac with 1 1/4 hose/extensions. I like to go 48" but 44 was good for 6' middle support posts. The electric pressure washer with extensions worked fantastic. But you have to have a place to make a slurry pile until it dries out......
I love the coffee cup moment. hilarious. I live in western NY, I can relate. You are really thorough, thanks for all the info, but I don't see me realistically myself doing this. But I would hire you, if I needed, lol
This looks like a great no dig fence if you have some solid ground/dirt, here in Florida where the soil is sandy I think you'll need some aggregate/cement to anchor the post against hurricane wind and saturating rainfall. Still It's an awesome install, best I've ever seen. The top rail ties are terrific, here in Florida they just drop 1.5 " screw at an angle and pray the hurricane don't rip it apart doesn't work.
What size steel pipe are you driving into the ground? I love your guys videos and I think this is what I am going to be doing for my fence. Newbie at building fences, but this seems straightforward.
We had a massive storm blow through with around 100 mph winds. My neighbors with wooden fences were mostly snapped off at the posts. Mt metal fence posts were untouched. This is the way to go. I bought the flat galvanized steel ones from lowes. But i did dig 6 inch holes but only 2.5 feet deep and dumped in a bag of concrete.
I love this crew, has young people working and wven a very young one carrying materials. That is exactly how you prepare the coming generations for success.
I called to get utilities marked. I painted white where I was putting in fence and gate and poles. All services marked was by the road. No where in my fencing area. I am fearful of hitting a electric or gas or any line water. Omg. How did you get them to mark your so good. I was even home when they came out to mark. I was invisible. Even showing them my white paint mark. Do I need to be more assertive?
Awesome video and process. The only thing that sucks for me as a guy who has to repair storm lines occasionally in a back or side yard, these fences, whichever method used are a nightmare for us to take apart and put back together. Lol!
You can always drive with big enough equipment: ruclips.net/video/mVx-ITNKGR8/видео.html But of course it is sometimes more practical to dig in rocky ground: ruclips.net/video/RfKrpnTxaRI/видео.html

Excellent video! For years I've been thinking about how to have a galvanized pipe driven into the ground and become the backbone for all my posts. Your adapter donuts are the ticket. Did you design them and come up with this system?
We did not. Just found a good thing. 👍🏻
That is one clean, Professional build! And a very detailed explanation.
Much appreciated!
compared to a typical vinyl fence, id imagine this is far superior having the metal posts on the inside. it always amazes me that typical vinyl fences are just hollow plastic more or less.
Kudos
Great video guys and very interesting stuff! How would a roof be installed on an area of 7' x 15' of this type of fence?
Absolute Genious!! Best method for Vinyl fencing! Appreciate the end to end video fellas!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🏻
Amazing work and rewarding to see the young talent at work.
Thank you!
Take a look at florida … all the pvc fence fell is the hurricane… so we have shattered pieces of fencing all around the area
He DID NOT feel that sun coming 😂 Another great vid. Only way to install vinyl, or any other fence. I’m in Des Moines Iowa.
Yeah he was pretty chilly.
Absolutely love the pride that they take in their work. I'm still in the fence about this method though 😂. I feel like this can't be stronger then a wood post system.
Here are some wind tests with did with both steel and wood posts: ruclips.net/video/r0rGf8vEp8I/видео.html
I got to tell you this is legit it looks amazing. I live down here in Florida and did all the post hole digging myself so this would have been nice LOL great job guys
Hey thanks!
Of course, moving to Cody in May and going back to work overseas the day before your GSD training. Dang it!
You guys are amazing, bless you guys!
Well shucks! Thanks!
WOW That is just Awesome !!! Very nice Fence construction !!!
Thanks!
So much to learn here ... regarding fencing or otherwise. I need to replace 2 gate latch posts, over a concrete walkway, that cannot be effectively fastened to the structure they are against. This pole option might be an option.
I enjoy your team environment. You are good people, and it shows.
We like to have a good time! 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
How do those posts hold up over time and ground movement? Or, potentially, the posts sinking or rising? I don't do that work, so these are simply ponder questions on my part out of ignorance.
As long as we drive below frost line we don't have that issue.
Always wanted to know how those vinyl fences were installed. U got a new sub 👍🏾!!!
Hey welcome!
The quality of vinyl we purchase performs well in Wyoming, and it's not uncommon for us to dip below -17
°C even as low as -30 °C on occasion. But we don't hang out there for weeks on end like I imagine you all do in northern Europe. 🥶
What do y'all charge for installation? Total cost for supplies and labor?
Fantastic work. What's the pricing compared to a regularly installed vinyl fence?
It tends to wash out more even than you would think. What you save in labor and concrete you spend in steel.
I've spent most of my life building stuff and I can tell ya, this is good stuff :)
That's a fantastic compliment. Thank you. 👍🏻
Should check out our airboat test that was done in Florida. Additionally, we have another branch in Florida that uses this method every day.
What size steel pipe are you driving into the ground? I love your guys videos and I think this is what I am going to be doing for my fence. Newbie at building fences, but this seems straightforward.
2 3/8" SS40
We had a massive storm blow through with around 100 mph winds. My neighbors with wooden fences were mostly snapped off at the posts. Mt metal fence posts were untouched. This is the way to go. I bought the flat galvanized steel ones from lowes. But i did dig 6 inch holes but only 2.5 feet deep and dumped in a bag of concrete.
I'm calling you out on the 1 bag thing, but otherwise way to go. 👍🏻
I love this crew, has young people working and wven a very young one carrying materials. That is exactly how you prepare the coming generations for success.
Great video. Family shoukd have went with this, but went with a 6ft wood privacy fence around the entire backyard.
Nice vid, great job explaining the important parts. thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job on this video. Professionally done.
Thanks!
This should be the standard way to install this type of fence. Very impressive, boys!
Thanks!
OMG, that random iced coffee and cranking shot was funny!
Awesome video and process. The only thing that sucks for me as a guy who has to repair storm lines occasionally in a back or side yard, these fences, whichever method used are a nightmare for us to take apart and put back together. Lol!
Damn, Just a bunch of professionals! Beautiful work!
Hey thanks!
Can you drive posts into river rocky ground??
If not, then, still must dig holes & use concrete to bed those?
You can always drive with big enough equipment: ruclips.net/video/mVx-ITNKGR8/видео.html
But of course it is sometimes more practical to dig in rocky ground: ruclips.net/video/RfKrpnTxaRI/видео.html
