Hands on training is far superior to any other type of training! Y'all are great! Keep the videos coming!
What a nice guy! He is professional and has a good sense of humor. He is just the kind of person I would have liked to work with when I was younger. I am 74 years old, retired, and a Nam Vet 68/69. A big thank you for this information because next week, I will be replacing my 25-year-old fence. Thank you, sir.
You are welcome. You've got this! 💪🏻
The no dig fence you guys installed in Wyoming is absolute proof the system works. Anyone who’s been there knows just how brutal the wind is. Great video guys 👍
A great place for wind turbines generation
Depends if wind is orderly or not.
I live on the praries and it’s very windy all the time but the wind is disorderly most of the time as well so wind turbines don’t work well and are usually shut down.
Great tip about getting the top donut to line up with the fence. Wisdom!
The universal sigh of relief when you get that post past the house is too spot on
That post driver is GREAT! Nice job!
This has changed my mind on vinyl fencing, thanks for posting. Curious to know how to add a vehicle access gate wide enough for a garbage truck. Best way to train is hands on.
"KEEP ON KEEPIN ON"
The no dig fence that you and your crew installed was very impressive and looks absolutely amazing!
The key locked gate latch was a nice touch!
Well done, SWI!
Well thank you!
Wow never seen a fence put up that fast before looks amazing
Interesting system. Wish they had this in the UK I’d use it for my fencing business
That thing for pushing the poles into the ground seems to have sparked my wife's interest, God knows why, Where can she get one?
Adam & Eve store?
Oh my god…😂
Nice video & very informative y'all have a great relaxing weekend.
Nice work guys! I’m not a fence installer, but was still fascinated by the skill and wit, in the video. Keep up the good work!
Thanks! 👍
I put a fence in like that last year but had to use a slam-hammer to drive the posts in. I like the auto hammer you have much better than doing it by hand!
Great work guys I,m impress with your system I,m a Red Seal carpenter from Kelowna BC Canada
P-R-O-S!! Never thought I'd end my day watching a fence build. But this was the best YT video I've seen in quite some time. Great that you are passing on your skills and knowledge to the next generation. If you were in Illinois, I'd hire you to put up a fence just like that.
wow you guys are amazing thanks for sharing
You guys are amazing, bless you guys!
Well shucks! Thanks!
I wish we had something like this in the UK, it’s really well thought out and so easy to maintain too!
Great banter makes everything even better! You guys are an awesome crew! ❤
Thanks so much!
Great fence, wish we had this in my country.
Awesome job y'all. I've been binge watching these videos since I'm gonna be extending one of my fence lines 40 feet and want to do the no dig method. In central texas here where we get some crazy wind and storms, so this gave me reassurance.
You got this! 💪🏻
I have to say you and your crew are very good and professional, I wish you were in NY, hard to find good quality anyone… I also would like to get some of your leftovers, being a gardener, I think you could make use of some of them for planting, by using them for slightly raised beds, by plastic welding them together. It would be possible for squares and long rectangular boxes. Even have an idea for vertical gardening with some, like the ones sometimes done with PVC. Just a thought, so you would not have to put them in the landfill and still be able to get some money and use out of them.
Really enjoy your content and keep up the great work.. Rob
aloha from hawaii it does not ever get cold enough hear to freeze your coffee drink. nice job i have been digging holes for years and its a real pain in hawaii lots of rocks.this is the way to go thank you
You can't use this method in rocky soil. When you hit rocks they will stop completely or bend around the rock giving you a crooked post nearly impossible to get out
Man, I have no experience building/installing fences or gates but I sure enjoyed watching you guys do it. Great job!
Hey thanks!
There are quite a few places this system would work around the greater New Orleans area. This would be an excellent system to use down in the Marigny/Bywater area. You have these 20 foot wide houses on 25 foot wide lots. That leaves a 30" walkway up each side. The window sills are at about 5,' and every window has a window air conditioner sticking out of it.
I know a sub that had to carry everything through a customer's house, including concrete.
I'd like to add that many of the fences between the houses are 4', 9 ga. twist up.
Before I say it won't work here...in North Kenner, La., I dug a 30" deep hole, set a 2-1/2" .065 in before the concrete, the post promptly sank all the way. That's a pretty nice system.
I'm glad that you mentioned the grade of the fence. The company's default installation was 2" above the highest grade, level from that point, unless specified otherwise. Salesmen? Details? You could probably imagine the malicious compliance opportunities. Of course I carried an instrument in the truck, although being a pro that is where it generally stayed.
This is a better video than Lowes or Home Depot do for instruction on fence building. Great job guys!
Appreciate that!
Looks good & makes sense. As for the waste, have you contacted the manufacturer to see if they'll accept your waste to be recycled?
Of course, moving to Cody in May and going back to work overseas the day before your GSD training. Dang it!
Very nice fence, I did fence building about 20 years ago for 3 years and it was very hard work , this way looks like way less work well done!!
Thanks 👍
real nice work
Appreciate that!
I have packaged MANY of those Vinyl Fence posts and pickets.. Loving this setup. Would be great to only have to route posts and send the materials.. :)
Nice! Great explanations!
Thanks!
Great show
Thanks!
Great video. Family shoukd have went with this, but went with a 6ft wood privacy fence around the entire backyard.
Mark must be missing the Florida weather. He needs steel toed flippy floppies.🤟
Steel toed flops, Florida Safety Shoes. 👍
That's a pretty sweet system man, Seems to be a great idea and strong best thing it's a lot quicker. Good video.
Thanks 👍
I can’t believe a fence guy actually called in locates, amazing. 😂
Oh ho ho. 😆
Good stuff, Lad builders! Product is interesting. Here in California, vinyl has been used for quite some time. The rap on vinyl is that due to changing temps, it becomes brittle and breaks. What is your response to that concern? Years, warranty, etc. Lastly, what is cost per foot? Thanks.
Dewalt impact with Milwaukee bits, you got a subscriber... 😂 But seriously, you guys have great workflow and on the job demeanor. Looking forward to watching more of your channel and learning some extra stuff!
Thanks 👍
Those off cuts from the post could make for great matching garden bed fencing to match the new fence this way you could save them from landfill. Because they are not biodegradable this means the new garden bed fencing won’t rot like wood will. If the owners don’t want them, then put out an ad on your website the same option of a no dig garden bed fencing, the only difference is you can’t use that fancy post hammer as the handle is too long 😹😹 but you can use a sledge hammer and a post holder handle to knock the post in.
Just food for thought, the idea popped into my head when I saw how much you were cutting off the post and the slotted sidings the whole lot could make neat garden beds and saves all them off cuts from landfill.
I know I would use them, if I lived in the States. I will have to see if this system is in Australia. It sure look nicer than the colour bond fencing my neighbours put up around me on all 4 sides I’m now fenced in with different coloured fencing in each direction. If that system came in a wood grain look I would have loved that to all that metal around me.
Hope you like my idea for your off cuts, I’m sure that there would be plenty of people out there who just might like that idea.
Awesome video and process. The only thing that sucks for me as a guy who has to repair storm lines occasionally in a back or side yard, these fences, whichever method used are a nightmare for us to take apart and put back together. Lol!
He DID NOT feel that sun coming 😂 Another great vid. Only way to install vinyl, or any other fence. I’m in Des Moines Iowa.
Yeah he was pretty chilly.
Very nice system. Do you ever get frost in the ground around there? I haven't found anything that can resist frost heaving the posts, but maybe the small diameter of the galvanized posts would help.
Our frost line runs about 30", so we always make sure to drive below that.
What size steel pipe are you driving into the ground? I love your guys videos and I think this is what I am going to be doing for my fence. Newbie at building fences, but this seems straightforward.
2 3/8" SS40
Great video, and I love the family work ethic. I wanted to save this to a playlist but I didn't see the usual option for that. Anyone know why this may be?
Hmmm, the option shows up for me... not sure what RUclips's doing to you.
how would you go about installing something similar to this in another state?
Nice work
Thanks!
Post scrap might be recyclable. Just a thought. Love the video.
Would love to have a fence like that!!!!
I am continually impressed with the no dig method. Minus five points for Dan for not beginning his post marks around the utilities and plus five points for the Minions, because they worked with Dan all day. And the winner is Mark. Lol, great job, of course, thanks again team.
pretty cool things have come a long way since i did fences lol
Yes, I was thinking it sits on top of ground, somehow being anchord with cement for weight to keep from blowing away ! I'm not up on the Post driver ! I've seen Giant ones drive I-beams to bedrock !
Fabulous! I bet it's inexpensive too.
You are one funny dude, I Subbed and liked your good, and keep them coming...
Awesome video! But I wonder how deep that pole would go into my ground, out in here in our San Diego clay rock soil. I wish our ground was that soft. Great Job!
Ooh, sorry, I'm going to have to call you out for calling this ground soft. 😆 It's not! ruclips.net/video/15zL8bOXU1E/видео.html
@@SWiFence I did see the Wyoming video, pretty sure the heavy duty pneumatic post pusher would do the trick. I wouldn't even try the post auger on my ground 😅
whats the uv rating on this stuff ...we had the generic white fence here and it crumbled into pieces from the suns rays...
Here in Skowhegan Maine we call it "Split the Difference".
NICE! Have a good dang day guys!
This looks like a great no dig fence if you have some solid ground/dirt, here in Florida where the soil is sandy I think you'll need some aggregate/cement to anchor the post against hurricane wind and saturating rainfall. Still It's an awesome install, best I've ever seen. The top rail ties are terrific, here in Florida they just drop 1.5 " screw at an angle and pray the hurricane don't rip it apart doesn't work.
Should check out our airboat test that was done in Florida. Additionally, we have another branch in Florida that uses this method every day.
I subbed and liked, just found your channel Brotha, Cheers.
Thanks!
Great job,
Thanks!
With a little work scrap can be converted into organized trays for your toolbox
I am looking to run some fencing around our yard, with part of it going into our woods. This way our dogs can do some exploring in the woods. How well do driven posts work where there is brush and possibly some roots?
Works fine as long as you have a good enough driver. We deal with vegetation and roots all day every day in our Florida operation.
You could use cut offs to make mechanical concrete
If you have problem roads this would be useful
Cut them into squares and put them in soft spot and then fill with gravel
What do y'all charge for installation? Total cost for supplies and labor?
That looked really nice.
Thanks!
Fantastic work. What's the pricing compared to a regularly installed vinyl fence?
It tends to wash out more even than you would think. What you save in labor and concrete you spend in steel.
What diameter a thickness are the post? Are they galvanized steel?
3:40 You are a very wise🙂 man.
Great video and installation. My only constructive comment is in my area (Chicago), building codes require all poles need to be sunk into 28" to 36" of concrete depending on what town you live in.
Local codes vary widely.
That looks awesome. I wish you guys were out in Texas
Maybe one day!
Right off the bat, behind you is one guy digging and two guys watching. Definitely a city worker project.
The younger generation is still learning how to find ways to engage. 😏
When you said you nail the doughnuts my first thought was roll eyes must be nice, but then you had to heat them and I remembered you guys are neighbors.
Love this idea, but what if you are in an area that have rocks of other hidden stuff under the ground. I had an old sidewalk that was just buried over with 12 " in dirt. Needless to say, that really slowed me down digging the posts LOL!
Tons of rock here. We don't drive in every area, although the right rock we can break up while driving through. Sometimes we dig and set or reach for larger drivers. ruclips.net/video/mVx-ITNKGR8/видео.html
Awsome job, nice fencing. Do you ever work in fl ?? Would love to get price???
We have a sister company in St. Augustine. 👍🏻 swiflorida.com/
Try that in Massachusetts. Rocks and boulders everywhere!
We got rocks. ruclips.net/video/mVx-ITNKGR8/видео.html
That is impressive!
Thanks!
Excellent !
Thanks!
Hi i've been enjoying this video more than all my years of retirement .Why ? cos everybody has a smarter and better opinion than the "thruth" of things. My question is What are the tempereture limits or duration (years)of a vinyl fence in northern Europe.
Ooh, great question. I'm afraid I won't really be able to answer that. The quality of vinyl we purchase performs well in Wyoming, and it's not uncommon for us to dip below -17
°C even as low as -30 °C on occasion. But we don't hang out there for weeks on end like I imagine you all do in northern Europe. 🥶
This makes fencing look like big boy legos! Love it!
great video and you guys make it funny. gotta love a sense of humor!!! lol
Thanks 👍
Uhh... y'all drove a 2" screw through the post, through the donut, into the post.
When I did my fence, I secured the donut to the post, but only used a 1" stainless screw to secure the post to the donut.
Is that a bad thing? Not sending a screw all the way through to the post?
Thanks. You guys are the best.
Well, I mean... It's just not as strong. You're probably fine. 👍🏻
Could have used those post drivers a decade ago! Very Cool
great video thanks
You bet
This looks amazing, would like an update video in 5 years.
You're in luck. There's an update on a fence like this we installed a little over 3 years ago in the middle of this video. 12:00
Great video! I live in KS. Do you guys know of any companies here that do the same type of installs with vinyl?
Not off the top of my head, sorry.
I would love to have you install a fence like that for me here in IL. But how much is the cost? Dealing with that here in C IL. They want 10K for 170' of cheap vinyl fencing w/2 gates, if they can even get the vinyl. 8K for treated fence. 2 Neighbors said they were wanting to add a fence and I told them good luck and hold onto your wallet. They came back and said they did not need a fence that badly.......
I appreciate good workmanship, but I guess I can't afford it anymore, and after a back injury, I'm not able to do it myself anymore. Sons are busy with work and family, but they did help me repair my cedar fence. The local cable locating person after locating my utilities said I should not work in my back area since a main fiberoptic cable junctions there. I said I am not digging, they looked puzzled. I rigged up my own hydro/vac soil removal system and it worked like a charm down to 44/46" for the 20 year old 16 gal Craftsman wet vac with 1 1/4 hose/extensions. I like to go 48" but 44 was good for 6' middle support posts. The electric pressure washer with extensions worked fantastic. But you have to have a place to make a slurry pile until it dries out......
Do solar light post caps fit on those? Or do they make those for that system?
They do make solar caps for these fences. 👍🏻
Do u do work in Massachusetts or have a company that you work with? Another great video
Not in Massachusetts yet. Wyoming & Florida.
BTW, have you started making the steel reinforced Mexican gates?
That video was killer!
We're getting ready to! 👍🏻
What about sand? I have nothing but compressed sand soil. The Installers dug posts in and gate posts have rebar and cement in them. I think the fence is about 25 years old. I have post and rail and want to go solid. Can the fence be 8' tall? The fence is not installed on the lot line but is off the line by 50' for a trail right of way. Do you have Utah Licenses?
Here's a hurricane-wind test we did recently with this system in Florida sand. ruclips.net/video/8jWcT17PFME/видео.html
Whats that machine called for piling them poles in the ground. How much do they cost ànd where to buy, their amazing.
Post drivers (or pounders). They're kind of pricey but worth it.
You might be able to rent one from a tool store in your area.

If you use pvc glue and glue the gate you can get away with horizontal braces
Or hollow sections out and put aluminum diagonals inside
can you guys recommend a no dig privacy fence company here in southeast Michigan, I would like to get something like this installed on my property.
Can I use one doughnut on the bottom of the post and the post stiffer on the top using one doughnut per post?
I suppose. Better make sure your posts are dang straight though. You'll lose a ton of adjustment that way.
Can you put a high density square on the bottom of the donut and then cut your vinyl post a little bit longer for the gate that way you have 2 high density structure points and still have the adjustability
You can, but that steel post had better be 100% plumb or you're going to have headaches hanging that gate. We prefer this method.
LOL. Always real…real awesome!
Im just wondering how many times while driving the post in, it hits a rock and deflects the post putting it in crooked?
It depends on the soil. We do our best to put them in plumb as we're driving, and some rocks we can break up and keep moving. However, that's the huge benefit of the adapter donuts. They allow you to plumb the vinyl post up even if the steel isn't plumb.
