For 3 days straight I've done nothing else but play a fishing game on the computer and watch your videos, I'm temporarily unemployed because of a knee injury and trying to avoid a downward spiral into depression because it's been 2 months like this, but seeing you and Alex together is so wholesome, heartwarming and all the videos are so inspiring that it's made me want to go back to fishing again, but I left all my gear behind after a messy divorce. Seeing your channel grow gradually as I go through older videos to the newer ones is also inspiring, good job mate, keep it up!
You have been a perfect example of what a fishing youtube channel should be. And whereas us helping you is true, you also helped a lot of us with your videos. My dream tackle would actually be a bedchair because of my back. Keep up with the videos. ❤
I am 14 now and I have been fishing for a little over a year now and have realy gotten in to carp fishing. I have been wanting a korda tackle box for a bit now as my current tackle box is a bit small and doest fit all of my carp fishing gear. Your videos have realy helped me with my fishing over the past year especially your fishing tutorials channel.
Hey Carl, I am from Serbia and I've been going fishing ever since I was a little boy. I fell in love with fishing as soon as I caught my first fish and my fishing buddys were always my grandma and my little brother. After she passed away we stopped going for a while and 2 years ago my brother was hit by a car as a pedestrian. He recovered and in the past 2 years we have been going fishing more often. I have saved up some money to buy a reel and got my grandmothers old rod for lure fishing as gift from gramps, but my brother is left with no fishing equipment of that type so when we go to Danube river we share my rod and take turns. I am meerly starting to work and so I don't have enough resources to buy him a lure fishing rig and i am not signing in this competition for myself, but rather to give my brother the joy of coming along and competing against one another as when we were kids, thank you for the videos! :)
@@Gabriel-ix2in Yeah, it's been tough these past few years. But I guess things are looking up slowly. Always nice to go casting/float fishing and emptying your mind for a few hours...
I'm 14 now and I only started fishing last year after years and years of watching fishing videos on RUclips about it. I was completely desperate to catch any kind of fish, big or small and I finally convinced my dad to take me to the tackle shop and he told me that it is too complicated and I'm too young to go on my own as I was only 8 at the time. I was completely gutted and I carried on watching videos online until I got abit bored of it as I was unable to go. Then in the summer holidays last year when I was 13 I saw some of your videos and it reignited my addiction to something I had never done. I got some money for my birthday and I went straight back to the tackle shop and bought my very first float rod and reel to go to a commercial fishery close by with a friend and his dad who went often. After that I was completely hooked, I caught around 3 carp and I was desperate to go back the next week. After advancing some of my kit and buying a feeder rod my friend and another friend we met fishing have advanced their gear to carp fishing rods and even Bivvys while I'm still feeder fishing. They even went to Norton Disney for an overnight trip without me as I didn't have the stuff. My ask is for some basic carp fishing stuff so I can join them on their trips to bigger venues. Also Carl I am very thankful for your videos as they started me doing something I cannot stop thinking about all day in school.
that's quite my story but 10 years later... i forgot how much i loved fishing (used to fish with a normal rod, without reel) but a friend took me with him to a local river in Spain and we caught, well almost caught a big size carp.. i was hooked again.. and promised myself i will buy a rod with reel, so i did! now here i am 6 years later with a complete advanced setup for feeder fishing, and some stationary too. you are still young and with a long journey ahead of you. don't stop fishing.. is one of the most calm and thoughtful hobbies out there.
Hi Noah, I’m happy to say you’ve won your dream item of tackle, please email carl@fishwithcarl.co.uk with your name, address and the item mentioned in your comment and I’ll do my best to get it sent out asap! Cheers, from Carl.
Hi Carl, myself (37) and Alfie my son (9) watch your channel all the time and were lucky enough to meet you at The Big One show in Farnborough this year. You signed Alfies poster, which is up on his wall. We are always thinking of items that would help us catch more fish but i think comfort on the bank is also super important and as i am 6"6' getting a bed chair that is long enough is a problem. So it would be a bed chair big enough. Thanks for all the videos without you and your brother neither myself or Alfie would have started fishing.
I went fishing with my dad many years ago when I was a young lad, and have been getting back into it over the last couple of years, and I'm now teaching my own son to fish (he's 5, and I now know the frustration my own dad must have gone through with tangled line and entire boxes of maggots being thrown into the lake at once!) I have most of the kit I need for us both, the only thing I have never settled on is a decent chair - something to help my poor old back getting up and sitting down all the time! Thanks to you and Alex for all the help you have given us in this awesome hobby!
Amazing to see you Duo back together , separate paths in life but the same special bond that's makes you both as ONE when together again. Well done Carl/Alex both legends that have blessed our screens for years. Bless you both and Keep your vlogs coming. Steve M
After a gap of 30 years and at the age of 57 I've started fishing again. I bought rod and tackle and although I had experience of float fishing I wanted to try carp fishing. This is where I found your channel, tutorials, your channel with your bro and now I'm with you here. The clear and precise information you give has helped me no end, you are perfect for newbies intermediates and pro's. BTW after my breakdown and near disastrous event I firstly found fitness, but now fishing... and its amazing for your mindset. Your gift to me has been your advice, and I'll keep watching and taking your advice with me. Keep up the great work, and keep enjoying your life.
Hey Carl , I’m 14. My dream tackle would just be a good rod and reel with some equipment for carp ! I’ve been lake fishing twice and not caught anything but an eel , because we can’t afford the equipment for both me and my dad and my two brothers. All I want to do is finally catch a carp , the rivers round thetford in Norfolk are polluted with not many fish at all so catching something doesn’t usually happen.Thank you for the enjoyment you’ve given me throughout the years. I can’t wait for more incredible videos to come !!
The thing I love most about your videos is how real you are and 'normal' you are. The way you approach fishing, your projects and content is so relatable to many and it almost feels like watching a friend. Loving the tackle room! Every angler's dream... In terms of fishing gear I crave to own most is a feeder fishing rod. I've always owned ordinary 12ft carp rods but I'd love a smaller rod with a quiver style bend that gives a whole different dynamic to fishing... I know Guru do a lovely set of feeder rods.
Hi Carl I have been fishing for about a year I am ten years old me and my dad go fishing all the time ever since I have been fishing I have been watching u and u have given me some great inspiration to do more fishing and not give up the item of tackle I would like is carp gear I have recently got into carp fishing with my dad and we would like a larger cradle of carp floater rods any carp gear would be great I wish you the best of luck fishing more and more thank very Much Reggie and Garry ( my dad )
I (aged 16) am very pleased with the amount of fishing tackle I have , however my brother (aged 9) has been bugging to get feeder fishing with me this summer. I own the only feeder fishing rod we have so it’s mainly shared when trying to teach my brother the ways of the tip. A feeder rod and reel would provide my brother with an opportunity to share the bank with me fishing along side me instead of on top of me 😂😂. You’re videos help us a lot through a shaky start to this year. Thank you for everything you do to the fishing community and keep up the good work. Alfie :)
Carl it's been a joy to watch you and Alex fish and your different techniques have helped me and my son Conor on our outings fishing in different areas. We both love pike fishing and if you so happened to pick me I reckon a baitrunner reel would be a huge help to our kit. Keep up the good work Carl. Gavin
Hi Alfie! I’m happy to say you’ve won your dream item of tackle, please email carl@fishwithcarl.co.uk with your name, address and the item mentioned in your comment and I’ll do my best to get it sent out asap! Cheers, from Carl.
That was a great little project and excited for all your adventures coming this year. Great to see Alex make a guest appearance as well ☺️ If you’ve got a bed chair/sleep system going spare I’ll take it off your hands. My old camp bed has seen better days and I’m in dire need of an upgrade. Keep up the good work Carl 👍🏻
Been watching you and Alex for a few years now and the level you have went to is mad, thinks it’s every kids dream who’s into fishing to have a little garage full of fishing gear like that! Next thing I’m looking on getting is a good set of alarms as right now they’re a bit rough haha keep up the good angling and tight lines!!
Hi Carl (and also Alex) , My name is Giles and I have enjoyed your channels for a number of years. I’m a mental health nurse, working with children and young adults, and have always valued and respected how you and your brother have spoken openly about your health and mental health . I think that you would be surprised how many young people, and adults, you have helped over the years with more than just fishing. The sorting of your tackle room is a great metaphor for this but I have to be honest and say it was the offer of tackle that has prompted me to message. I’m trying to combine my fishing with some exercise and am looking for a travel rod so that I can cycle to fish. Course or light lure. I am lucky enough to have great lakes, rivers and canals in easy cycle distances, so I do a mixture of fishing. Good luck to you both with all your channels and projects and please keep speaking openly about mental health. Thanks Giles
Hi Carl, Omi, I'm 51 this year and thankfully I found your channel last year, you've inspired me to get back a hobby I loved as a kid. I've got myself a very basic (cheap with good reviews) setup of carp rods with baitrunner reels, hooks, feeders, floats etc. I've been out quite a bit so far which is amazing as I've been struggling a lot over the past few years with poor mental health. I've got a long way to go kit-wise I'm looking at buying a seat this week or a bed chair maybe, if you've got anything you'd like to pass down I'd happily own anything of yours as a reminder of you and how much of a part your channel has played in my well being over the past year. I'm dreaming of being able to go over night fishing but I'll need a tent and a seat/bed at least for that :D Thank's again Carl for the inspiration and for making an old man happy and thank you Omi for the wonderful fish identification pictures I have purchased, they really have helped a lot :) Regards Malcolm from Rackfield.
@@fishwithcarl install a timer on your lights. because those tubes emit some UV lights and if you keep them on for a long time it will destroy plastics near them. i have lost many many things like this because in my basement i have mostly florescent tubes like this and i discovered the problem after having things fall appart in my hands.
I grew up in Hungary, where my dad took me fishing as a child, I instantly got hooked, and never really stopped. A few years ago I started Beach Fishing as I moved to the UK and some of your videos helped me massively, I just want to say Thank you for what you doing, and all the inspiration, and effort you put into making these videos. Keep up the good work.
Hi Carl, Love the 'Tackle Suite' ! I decided in the end to buy a 10ft x 8ft insulated shed close to the house and use that. I put a desk in it, radio, charging points and now spend more time (when not fishing) in the Tackle Shed than I do in the house !!!!! Its more peaceful ! All the best, Ady
Early last year after a long 2 weeks of night shifts I was miserable and wanted to escape the world of work and stumbled across your channel. I was instantly hooked. Carl you are an inspiration to every generation, your videos and channels are fantastic for helping any angler young, old, novice or seasoned. Hours of binge watching, A quick trip to my mums house to get my childhood novice fishing tackle was essential and since then I have hit the banks every chance I get. Wet/rainy/ blank days my passion for fishing never goes even my partner thinks im crazy standing in the pouring rain for 12 hours with nothing more than a pair of work trousers and a raincoat. My evenings consist of laying on my sofa with a cup of tea and a catch up with Carl learning as much as I can as the world of fishing brings a wave of peace to my life. Although I have slowly made progress in upgrading my tackle I still have very little in the basic equipment needed and some of my tackle is not the best due to being 12+ years old and being in storage for so long. For example my only rod (a 12ft feeder ) will spin around its self, as i cast the rod itself the handle and reel rotates freely causing my eyes to be up, down, left and right! Haha. Every angler needs Carl in their daily routine as nothing beats a long day than seeing a new Fish With Carl video has landed. Onwards and upwards I will be a follower for many many years to come👍
Another great video Carl, Living in the countryside USA makes it hard to get your hands on any carp accessories, rigs, even baits at any local tackle store. One thing i definitely could utilize in my fishing right now would be a multi rod stand! I think its really cool what you do to give back to your fans. You're a great ambassador for the sport of fishing thanks for all you do mate!
Thank you so much mate 👍 Yes , for sure. It is not easy to get carp gear over there. Hopefully this changes as carp fishing continues to gain popularity :) I'm hoping! Haha
great video as always carl! keep up the great content and hope to see some of the riverfest vids (if there will be any)! great transformation and well done to all involed in helping you renovate your tackle room! tight lines to everyone!
started coarse fishing again after 18 years due to back injury stopped my beach casting took my granddaughters fishing yesterday they loved it it was such an enjoyable day seeing them learning and smiling when they caught their first fish (perch) from the canal near me. I found your tutorials a great help in relearning the basics again
I have found your channel invaluable after taking up fishing again after 30 years. My eldest son has ADHD and I have found getting out on the bank with me helps him focus, he manages to sit for hours focusing on a float but also when not on the bank he sits for hours watching your channel. I know his dream bit of kit would be a float rod and reel setup to progress from his whip which he loves and manages to out-fish me every time with or a seatbox so he can be a bit more comfortable than having to sit on the bank and to build his tackle collection around. Keep up the excellent work!!
Let me start off by saying thank you for the wonderful content you and Alex (in the past) have put out. It's because of your videos that I finally mustered up the initiative to pick up fishing again. I am not native to the UK and viewed it as a challenge to start fishing, finding spots and documenting where it's legal to fish, which areas are under a venue, and what areas are free. My job is particularly mentally demanding, and I never found the time or energy to document it myself. I saw it more as a chore than an adventure and relied on the fact that I could experience fishing adventures through the eyes of another. However, watching you and Alex struggle, overcome obstacles, and achieve so much over the course of many years, all accessible with a simple click, motivated me to take action. You reminded me that just getting out there and catching fish, big or small, provides joy in itself. This year, I set aside some money and bought my second ever fishing rod and reel. I am glad to say it was the best purchase I ever made. Now, I go fishing 2-3 times per week, even if it's just for 2-3 hours after work. Most of the time, I return exhausted and with nothing to show for, but it has done wonders for my mental health. My girlfriend always says that I have a different air about me when I come back from fishing, and occasionally she joins me too. I mostly try spinning and occasionally float fishing due to the lack of time and because the rod and reel I bought are made for spinning. However, I often dream of a day when I will catch a double-figure carp or barbel. Honestly, if my comment ends up being chosen, I would leave the choice up to you. I would ask what your most enjoyable fishing experiences are, the ones that made you feel like a child again. P.S. I definitely related to your comment about having a bamboo cane back when I was a child. I never dreamed of owning a fishing rod and reel back then since they were considered luxury items.
After a 40 year break from fishing last September I retired from 30 plus years in the ambulance service and have to say at a dead end as I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself after 30 plus years on the front line so I was just looking at trying carp fishing and finding your videos really inspired me to have a go at carp fishing your knowledge and information taught me everything I now know about carp fishing thank you so much Carl you have turned my life around ,,, any carp tackle would be fantastic.thanks again keep up the great work many thanks Tony
I fished all my life (very similar to yourselves). I was inspired by my grandad who was a polish immigrant coming over during the war. Growing up my Grandad would find peace as my mum said away from the things he witnessed, fishing local lakes where we live and later on became the bailiff / managing the pegs. Some of my best memories were just sat on the bank with him - even photos I had when little was on the side of the bank with my grandad. As I am now a parent myself, I haven't had much time to fish and the past 7 years I've brought 2 little ones into the world - William and Arthur (5 and 2) During covid with the little ones, I feel something is missing and its that stress relief of having your own personal mental time on the riverbank / lake edge that I relate to my own personal childhood. While I want my children to learn to fish - right now I need some time and making the effort monthly to spend at least 1 day for the mental health break. I plan to bring my sons along when I get back into the flow myself. Its very selfish but with lockdown and spending so much time together we don't get a lot of personal time and its caused more issues than we realise. The piece of tackle that would help me lots would be a new float/match rod and reel as my old one deteriorated sat in the garage which was shame - I have no clue where to look on what is best right now. My previous smaller rod Im planning to build a little setup for my son when he comes with me. Side note to this comment - your content is superb, I found it recently while looking for inspriation to get me back into fishing and I found myself watching all your content - I watch a video a night so hurry up and make some more haha! In the vs pro video you was close to Doncaster - that is actually down the road from where I live. Im a professional photographer (12 years!) if you are ever that way again - drop me a message, ill gladly come across and take some photos for you for content!
I find myself binge watching you and your brothers channels. I feel like you connect with the regular angler. I would love a fishing pole, my autistic brother became obsessed with fishing after finding your channel. I gave him my my fishing pole which he loves. Its great having somebody to fish with
Carl just wanna say thank you. Just started fishing 2 yrs ago at 55 years old. I’ve found all your content so useful and down to earth giving me a bit more confidence on what I’m doing. Keep it going cheers Mick
I used to fish when I was younger, I'm talking around 20 years ago. I still love it, especially watching all the videos. I now have 3 sons and haven't even got round to buying a rod or reel for them to experience the joy. I will one day though. Thanks for your videos man. I've had many a giggle at them💯
I'm the only one fishing in my family (have been since around 9yo). Till I was 22 I'd have loads of problems with my gear - used same line, knot and same setup for every species since I wasn't even aware you can target species with tackles and techniques you choose. I almost gave up on my biggest hobby because I was always unsuccessful. This year (25yo) was the first one for me when I've caught more than one pike in a week (it was almost 50 of them!!!). Your vids helped me gain hope, confidence and knowledge in fishing and made it joyful again. Thanks Carl (and also Alex)! Cheers from Poland guys!
You sir are a genuine number 1 bloke. Love watching you upload new items and shows always a good watch. If I had a dream bit of kit it would be a decent rod bag I have the Sonik extractors as I try to travel small and light.
I'm 13 from Spain and I've been trying for carp for so long because of problems of tackle but you kept me motivated and caught witch might be small for you but for me it's huge😂 it was 10 pounds😅🎉
I like the vid Carl iv been watching you for a few years now and you helped me start fishing without your Channel I would’ve never started fishing but if there is one bit of dream tackle I would love a fully stocked tackle box as I’m always running out of stuff I’m only 15 so it’s hard for me to buy more stuff. Love the vids
After two strokes and only 50 years young i thought my fishing days where done for and could still be I need to find a chair that will replace my seat box as it's getting harder toget comfortable and fish keep up the good work you kept my spirits up while in hospital
I love watching all your videos, from the beginning, my daughter, Kaci has ADHD and autism and watching your videos and going fishing. Is a big part Of that helps I’ve always wanted her to have a dream fishing rod fishing reel for carp fishing, but we just could never afford it. I wish you all the best in the future, bless you all. She’s always wanted the reels u use with the daiwa ones that have the gold spools
Just started to pick the rod up again for the first time in years and ive always wnted a pair of polarised glasses, not only would it help my fishing massively but it also helps with my migraines when fishing. Love the videos and i cant wait to see more from you!
Hi Carl! When you said you were younger and dreamed of having every rod, you pretty much stated how I feel now 😂. Currently I’m 14 and have 1 basic lure rod and reel. Personally I’d love to have an Ultra light lure rod! But all the good ones are wayyyy out if my budget. So, if my comment miraculously gets picked ( Lol ) I’d love a decent ultra light lure rod! Love the video btw well done!
Hi Carl probably a bit late but I’m 12 and I love angling and you videos. I’ve always dreamed of having a bite alarm stand with receivers so I can stay in my bivvy and ‘relax more instead of worrying about my rod and reel. I teach kids how to fish and to get into although I am young. Your videos have helped me so much and I feel bad that I’m possibly nicking equipment from you. Thanks for you hard work keep it up.
Nice to see you and alex working on a project together , i had to organise my fishing gear after a invasion of vermin in the garage. Little devils chewed my bedchair sleep system ,bivvy , chair was devastated ihaving to throw them and the bags thay were in away luckily my bait was stored indoors ,now my gear is safely stored in the loft ive managed to replace everything except a chair , that would be my dream item , as i suffer with rheumatoid arthritis the choice is limited not many with high back for neck support and high legs as it affects my knees , love watching yours and alex vlogs ,
Straight and forward from bottom of my heart, " Thank you to you too Carl " I ve learnt a lot from your videos from baits to tackle to how to set up tackes for various ways of fishing. Love from India 🇮🇳
Great channel and an amazing guide to all types of fishing. The way you explain yourself makes even the most complex subject, seem like childs play. I am just starting my grandson off on his own fishing adventures and anything pole related would be great for him. He has a whip that I converted to a small pole, and an old rustic box seat box, but thats about all he has. He loves your channel by the way. Keep up the good work inspiring a whole new generation to take up our wonderful sport.
Hello, my name is Douglas. I'm 25 and have been fishing all my life. My dad and I have been enjoying taking out rowing boat out to sea and hoping for new and interesting species. We would love some multipliers. That's all :) Thanks Carl... and Alex for years of entertainment. Keep it up!
Hi. I'm 14, and I'm just getting inro carp fishing. I have been feeder fishing for about 3 to 4 years now. Before that, I was float fishing, which I didn't really like. I have learnt lretty much all the things about carp fishing from you and your brother. I watch your tutorials.., which i find really helpful. I will be starting high school this September. When it comes to tackle, a box and some items frim the basix range would help me out. At the moment I'm using the Korda basix wide gape hooks in the sizes 4 and 6, which I really like. Actually, I just finishsd tying a pop up rig from your video. When it comes to feeder fishing, I use Guru's Qm1 hooks. Thank you for making such great videos, and helping people, both children and adults, to learn to catch fish succesfully.
You are living the dream with a stocked up fishing room like that Lad. Its a proper Tackle haven. The dream is some proper stage-stands or a good rod pod. Made do with the same cheap rod pod for years but its showing its age now and its taken a fair battering from just about every species. I never used to think about rod support till I started on the carp fishing, now its the next tackle target.
As always carl top quality video and along with matt and tanks video from guru got me fishing and me and my 3 yearold boy caught our first fish over the weekend look forward to the next video
Hi , so I'm a builder can afford pretty much everything i need for my fishing ...however...i like giving most of my old or unused tackle to young fishermans that aren't so fortunate. So whatever dream tackle a young one would dream about you choose it and ill double it so we make two guys happy. Well done and keep doing the good job.
Hi from Watervliet, NY, USA Just received my copy of “The Simple Fishing Guidebook”! It is beautifully done! The illustrations are stunning! I will be reading it “on the bank tonight”! Thank you so much!
Still the best and been following you for years .. my 8 and 10 year old look fwd to all of us sitting down and watching your latest vid .. keep it up mate ...
I would love a Korda Kaizen Platinum Carp Fishing Rod. Due to having a young family i don't have much left over to afford fishing tackle. All my carp fishing tackle was handed down to me by my Grandad before he passed away. But all his tackle was from late 90's early 00's. I have never had the chance to upgrade and always feel conscious on the bank when i see everyone else with their new gear. On a separate note i have loved your channel for the past few years. I spent most of lockdown watching all your content and it really did make me fall back in love with Fishing after a couple years not going Fishing much. Thank you for the inspiration
im 17 and have been fishing for 3 years and have only ever had 1 small carp, i want to start staying over night so that i have more chance of catching but most bivvys are out of my budget. yours and alexs videos were the reason i carried on fishing so i just want to say thank you for putting a spotlight on one of the best sports in the world
I'm German but I'm trying to do it in English, I've been fishing for a few weeks in a lake near me, because I can't go far away as a young angler, at the lake you have to put the rods in the water but so far the money has not been enough for waders, which is why I go in short pants, But that's why I'm often sick after fishing, very nice video Bw Ben
Hello Carl I am a big fan as living with a autism disability family it is very hard to get out fishing with dad having now depression we have said that we need to get out more we are trying to get my 4 year old as he also has autism we just only went fishing with a successful couple of ours at a lake in Gloucestershire we had caught around 60 fish between me and my step dad watching you just makes me have that confidence and courage to persevere with fishing I hope you see this Carl and my brother and family love you
I really hope for you to see this Carl, not necessarily to give me the item but just in general. I really enjoy watching your videos, and i LOVE the amount of effort you put into these videoes. They are so professional, calm and so inspiring and yet so motivational, i always wants to go out on the water and catch some fish after watching them. I've learned so many things over the few years i have followed. My two buddies calls me the multispecies champ, and well that can i thank you and alex for. Either your going fishing for carp, small stream fishing for chub, pike fishing or just chill videoes like this and with the kois, i'm always watching. You're videos gives me goose bumbs quite litteraly. Every time you upload a new video or one of your old videos pop up i click it and watch it, even tho i already have seen it i click it. Theres just something speicial about your videos man! My dream would be a new 2500 reel with some strong braid in a thickness of around 0,12 - 0,15, for allaround fishing like pike, and seatrout here in denmark and maybe carp, but i haven't found a carp lake in denmark yet, i am still searching tho. But yeah that is just what i need right now because my old one broke last week. it doesn't need to be a crazy expensive reel like the shimano stella or reels in that range. I'm still a kid (14) so the money for a new reel just ain't there and my parents don't really have the money either. I don't know if you are ever going to see this but keep up the good work Carl!!! You still don't fail to make smiles apear on my face and light up my days! I really look up to you. All love - Mikkel 😁
Love how your videos always give that authentic feel, I see a lot that get sponsors and become so commercialised. I used to fish lures only for like perch and trout however, I fished a carp lake a couple of years ago after watching your videos and I was hooked! I only ever fish the way you show from rig setup tips and tricks and I love it. Would love to go night fishing but getting a bivy to get started is holding me back… keep up the amazing content keeping it real
Me and my kids have started fishing this year and have watched pretty much all your videos to learn how to fish so thank you for putting the time in because we now get to enjoy it. We have done really well at the local pond float fishing but we really want to get some carp. Tackle wise if we were lucky enough, honestly anything that can help a dad and 2 kids take the next steps. We have 3 basic cheap rods and reels
Myself and my son started fishing together because of your videos! We started with float fishing and feeder fishing. We have now managed to save up and get everything we need to do an overnight fish at our local waters, apart from 1 more bivvy bed and sleeping bags! Fingers crossed we manage to save and get out this year together ❤️
Good Morning Carl I too remember having the one rod that did everything as a young boy ( I am now a pensioner so it was a few years ago ), i can relate to taking it everywhere and the joy of catching what to me were monster Gudgeon and best of all catching beautiful Rudd, i still love to fish and my dream item of tackle would be the Guru Fusion Base that would let me have just one carryall instead of separate bags that i have to carry. the garage is looking good and i hope it stays tidy 😃
My 13 year old loves your videos on fishing and your koi. He’s learned so much from you(as have I also). Tackle wise, he’d love a longer or stronger test curve carp rod as he’s getting into much larger fish now and wants to cast a tad further than his smaller one would allow. Keep up the great content
Looks great Carl! My dream item of tackle would be a 4ft, 8-25g spinning rod for my little girls to fish for little bass off our boat. Every cast with the 8ft rod and they hook a different part of the boat! I've hunted for one everywhere and it doesn't seem like one exists! Cheers mate, keep bringing the adventures into my dad-life!
Heyy Carl, I am 16 and have two Daiwa Crosscasts wich I bought by saving all my money. I love these two rods but struggle with the transport so I just realy want a Korda Compac Rod Holdall. Thanks for the awesome and peaceful content. I get so exited when I see a notification from youtube. Cheers from South-Africa
Hi carl i love your room not only all of us have helped you, you have helped me i have been fishing for a year now and your videos have helped alot my dream fishing tackle is a korda carp rod and a daiwa carp reel. Thanks
really happy for you to have all the kit and make a living off fishing its a lot of peoples dreams to travel around the world and fish and make a lvioff it, my dream tackle is to have korda sping bow net, i need a new net mine is really cheap and heavy, love your videos they got me back into fishing and I use your tips and tutorials to help, especially fishing on the surface, I have loads of fun with that!
I’ve been sea fishing for over 25yrs and never had a beach shelter. Your videos have inspired me to start coarse fishing again later this yr Keep up the good work
Thank you for your videos, my other half's lad (12) watches them religiously. His Granddad got him into fishing from the age of 7. He now shows me how to do things, as I've not fished for over 15 years. Most of the things he teaches me he has learned on your videos. He has a small collection of various types rods and reels for coarse fishing as well as one for sea and one for fly fishing. Next on his wishlist is a sleeping chair and a bivvy. Good luck to Santa getting those down the chimney! Thanks again; we're off up the pond together next Sunday, let's see what he's learned from you this week.
Well that has inspired me to tidy up all my gear also! Been watching you and Alex since my son got me back into fishing some 5 years ago ( a gap of 40 years !). Have moved up to mostly carp now as us oldies like to relax on the bank and realise that I am missing a spod and marker rod setup to finding features so I can catch more! Keep up the good work !
ive just started fishing personally but ever since i started ive been wanting to go more more more and more the first time i went sea fishing which i really enjoyed, now recently my friend has said i can join him and his family on their fishing trips every week or so, so ive taken the opportunity to learn from my friend and im learning quick however i have alot to learn, im gonna start going more often, at the moment i am learning to fish with a whip which i really enjoy thanks to your videos i really enjoy watching you and fishing and learning many new things i love your channel carl keep it up.
My dream would be a room like this it looks awesome, I’ve just starting fishing with my son this year we love watching your videos, a dream wouldn’t really be tackle it’s a decent camera to make memories because for me that what it’s all about, Thankyou for being who you are, keep it up
That really is a dream room mate! Watching your videos inspired me to start buying my gear back after it was all stolen. My dream item of tackle would be a power porter but id be more than happy with any carp porter to replace my old one. Keep up the good work mate!
I love watching your videos all I do on free time when I'm not fishing is watch them. I am a 13 years old boy from Lithuania and my dream piece of tackle is delkim bite alarms with a receiver. I wish you'd post every single day!
Always inspiring Carl. I've laughed , cried and learnt loads from watching you and Alex over the years . A really nice hand net for trout would be my choice of tackle ...then I just need to catch a decent trout to christen it. Keep up the great work and a big hi to Omi as well. Lovely that you've got such a lovely , gentle soul to travel life's journey with you . Best wishes Callum
Hi Carl. As a working Dad of two, I dont get fishing as much as id like. But I plan to target next year my favourite fish, Tench. Its time to beat my PB. So my dream tackle would be some decent tench gear please. Also, we have a mystery lake near where i live in Manchester. Supposed to hold big carp and tench. Ive spoken to loads of anglers (its always busy) who assure me it has big fish. But never seen one come out! I think you need to come visit and see if it will reveal its mysteries for you. Its even called secret lake on google! Thanks for your videos. They've helped me reconnect to this passion for fishing and my inner child too.
Hi Carl, love the channel buddy. I'm 30 and after stopping fishing when I was around 15 I decided to start up again last year and took up carp fishing. one item I don't have that would really help are reliable bite alarms for my overnight sessions. keep the awesome videos coming :)
Hi Carl, really great to see both you, and your brother doing so well even after the split. Been following you guys for about 5 years perhaps I would say, and the quality of videos and content just keeps on improving every time! I started feeder fishing here in South Africa, a facet that is really small here, perhaps less than 600 anglers in total. We mostly do a facet own to South Africa called 'bank angling', and that is the type of fishing you get taught as a kid, so feeder fishing has not caught on yet. As feeder fishing is so small, we have limited gear to choose from and only one shop that stocks Guru and Preston gear in the entire country. I have an old seatbox that I bought 2nd hand and it is not really suited for my big stature and weight, and my dream tackle would be a new seatbox that would fit this purpose. Keep up the great work and I love the collaboration videos with your brother!
It always has been a pleasure watching your channel grow and develop Carl! Keep up the good work! Much like you were, I'm still using only 1 rod, since most of our budget goes into our new house for renovation, but in case I do get picked, I've always dreamed of having a Filstar Black Shadow rod 2.7 meters long one. Take care & stay safe!
its so good to see alex back in your videos. it you as a person that made it possible for you to do as your career. keep up the mega work and videos. i myself has always wanted to try river fishing but wouldnt know where to start or what rods reels etc
Hi Carl, I never got taught how to fish so watching your videos has been a huge help so thank you! My dream tackle would be anything modern carp related. As I’m new to carp fishing the gear I have is very limited and old. Keep up the awesome videos!
Hi Carl I’ve be carp fishing for just over a year I’ve got all the tackle I need.I could do with some of the korda luggage. I have a seat box but it’s huge and hard to carry and being in a wheelchair makes it even more difficult. One of the Korda backpacks would do perfectly.
Love the vids your simple tactics of the korda basics and hair rigs have helped my catch many fish including my pb at 22 lb and gave my confidence in what i casted out
Thanks Carl i enjoyed your passion! It was Christmas i think i was seven or eight a new rod and reel from my parents sent me out into the cold , now sixty four years later the only thing that wiĺl tempt me out into the cold is fishing, the flame of my passion has often dimed but never gone out , winter meens Pike summer means Tench on the float so a new float rod for the job would be really great, my 12 foot is long past the age of consent possibly 40 years old , so tight lines stay safe , T S 😊
Hi Carl, I just wanted to say that your channels helped me a lot during my fishing career. Because of you, I started fishing for carp, and besides starting with fishing, that was the best choise of my life. I started to get bored with fishing foe pike, and I was thinking about stopping with fishing. Thanks to you I continued fishing and that's the best choise I could've made back then! Thanks for making all those videos and keep doing it!❤❤❤
Hi and thanks for getting my appetite for fishing again. I’ve had my shed broken into twice over the years and had all my tackle stolen. After 20 years of not fishing I watched a episode of your RUclips channel and instantly got the fishing bug again. I now have more tackle than I ever had. I’ve just watched this episode of you getting yr fishing toon kitted out. A thing that would improve my fishing is a bait boat as I’m a poor shot with a boilie stick. This would definitely improve my fishing as I’m having to fish for carp close in. Keep up the great work yr a credit. 👏👏
Hi Alex, Been watching your content for the past 6 months and it has really helped in the development of my fishing, and the confidence to try new tactics. I started fishing when I was a lot younger and for sure caught the bug, but as I got older I became lazy and not as interested in going to the lake, however watching your content has re-inspired my enjoyment of fishing, and have so been going quite regularly in the past few months. In terms of gear that I have always wanted, I'm not really sure but I have recently purchased a bait boat (yet to use it) it was a fairly cheap one and so would like to maybe get a nicer one someday in the future Thanks a lot for the content that you produce and keep it up Hoping for Tight lines for the years to come
I started fishing last year after a few friends recommended how stress reliving it can be and have recently got my 13 year autistic son into it with me he enjoys float fishing with his telescopic pole. Only thing me need now is a bivvy and bed so we can spend the night under the stars with a better chance at a few more fish.
I just turned 15 last week and have carp fished for about 2 years now. In the start of my carp fishing i didnt have any of the good gear to catch carp, but i still really loved it even tho i lost many big carp to my gear. One and a half year ago my mom and dad got me a carp and sturgeon fishing kit which i still use and love but the rods are really meant for big sturgeon so they are really big and reallly stiff and 12 ft so its really hard for me to approach the water i fish. I then recently began to get my own money so i could buy my own stuff, but carp fishing gets really expensive really fast and i dont have the money to keep buying feed and rigs i lose and leads. I fish every day if i can and go overnight on the weekends, its so much money with feed especially and losing some kit every time. I can still fish with the rods i have i just would love some terminal tackle and feeding. Leads, lead clips, carp care, ronnie rigs, hair rigs, boilles and groundbait. i would really apreciate if i got this, but im reading some of the comments and i see people who need tackle just as much as i do. Great video carl!
Hi Carl, Hope you're well... I have always loved fishing since being about 10, Never had enough confidence to pick up the camera and film but I do love enjoying the outdoors and fishing just like you!! For me my dream piece of tackle equipment would be a decent carp rod/reel combo! I've been focusing a lot on river and would love to get back into carping, maybe the tackle would give me the boost to start it again!Cheers again
Sigma o slx dc or curator dc would help me so much with my fishing journey I have always loved fishing ever since I was 3 or 4 and I have been dreaming of a curdado slx dc or curator dc
loving the new room carl 🔥
Cheers YT!
@fishwithcarl you know your cherished when RUclips comments on your videos ❤
Hope RUclips subscribed to your channel Carl 😎✌️
I love watching your videos I wake up really early to watch your videos
looks great only thing is as angler theres always some new tackle that grabs our attention sooner or later your going to need a bigger room ❤
Loads of weights for
fishing
@@Tiger4ever89 I will definetly not stop, it's all I can think about.
Hi Noah, I’m happy to say you’ve won your dream item of tackle, please email carl@fishwithcarl.co.uk with your name, address and the item mentioned in your comment and I’ll do my best to get it sent out asap! Cheers, from Carl.

Thanks for watching!

Wow. Super lovely comment, this made my day.
I can’t wait for more incredible videos to come !!
i found a 25lb carp in a lake here in northern ireland was my fisrt carp catch now i aim to to find bigger ones
@@geoffreymcknight8495 that’s cool bro ! My dad has been carp fishing in uk for a long time , his biggest is 33 lbs I believe !!
Also keep up the good more my man well done I wish to be like u one day
I (aged 16) am very pleased with the amount of fishing tackle I have , however my brother (aged 9) has been bugging to get feeder fishing with me this summer.
Great to see Alex make a guest appearance as well ☺️
If you’ve got a bed chair/sleep system going spare I’ll take it off your hands.
Hi Carl (and also Alex) ,
My name is Giles and I have enjoyed your channels for a number of years.
Thanks
Giles
I'm dreaming of being able to go over night fishing but I'll need a tent and a seat/bed at least for that :D Thank's again Carl for the inspiration and for making an old man happy and thank you Omi for the wonderful fish identification pictures I have purchased, they really have helped a lot :)
Regards Malcolm from Rackfield.
I don’t know what it is but seeing you both back together makes me happy again

I grew up in Hungary, where my dad took me fishing as a child, I instantly got hooked, and never really stopped. A few years ago I started Beach Fishing as I moved to the UK and some of your videos helped me massively, I just want to say Thank you for what you doing, and all the inspiration, and effort you put into making these videos. Keep up the good work.
That is awesome to hear :) thanks for sharing that, you're so welcome. All the best!
Day 1 of saying love u to carl until he responds
started coarse fishing again after 18 years due to back injury stopped my beach casting took my granddaughters fishing yesterday they loved it it was such an enjoyable day seeing them learning and smiling when they caught their first fish (perch) from the canal near me.
Im a professional photographer (12 years!) if you are ever that way again - drop me a message, ill gladly come across and take some photos for you for content!
ps my work is Aden Priest Photography if you are curious :)
Great to see you & bro still working together. Love Omi,s artwork, great job allround!

Carl just wanna say thank you. Just started fishing 2 yrs ago at 55 years old. I’ve found all your content so useful and down to earth giving me a bit more confidence on what I’m doing. Keep it going cheers Mick
I'm happy to hear that Mick, ah you're welcome. Tight lines :)
Is a big part
Of that helps I’ve always wanted her to have a dream fishing rod fishing reel for carp fishing, but we just could never afford it.
Would love a full set of Singlez. Keep up the work and fair play to all the guidence u give to all and the future generations of anglers
The quality of these videos is UNREAL. I can’t stop watching these videos.
Thank you mate, that's super kind :) Happy you enjoy them!
Hi from Watervliet, NY, USA
Just received my copy of “The Simple Fishing Guidebook”!
Thank you for the inspiration
im 17 and have been fishing for 3 years and have only ever had 1 small carp, i want to start staying over night so that i have more chance of catching but most bivvys are out of my budget. yours and alexs videos were the reason i carried on fishing so i just want to say thank you for putting a spotlight on one of the best sports in the world
I'm German but I'm trying to do it in English, I've been fishing for a few weeks in a lake near me, because I can't go far away as a young angler, at the lake you have to put the rods in the water but so far the money has not been enough for waders, which is why I go in short pants, But that's why I'm often sick after fishing,
very nice video
Bw Ben
Great to see you back on here mate. Great refurb. Love it! Looking forward to the next video.
Hello Carl I am a big fan as living with a autism disability family it is very hard to get out fishing with dad having now depression we have said that we need to get out more we are trying to get my 4 year old as he also has autism we just only went fishing with a successful couple of ours at a lake in Gloucestershire we had caught around 60 fish between me and my step dad watching you just makes me have that confidence and courage to persevere with fishing I hope you see this Carl and my brother and family love you
Scam
Good Morning Carl
I too remember having the one rod that did everything as a young boy ( I am now a pensioner so it was a few years ago ), i can relate to taking it everywhere and the joy of catching what to me were monster Gudgeon and best of all catching beautiful Rudd, i still love to fish and my dream item of tackle would be the Guru Fusion Base that would let me have just one carryall instead of separate bags that i have to carry.
the garage is looking good and i hope it stays tidy 😃
Your videos have inspired me to start coarse fishing again later this yr
Keep up the good work
Thank you for your videos, my other half's lad (12) watches them religiously.
Love the channel karl fishing simplicity at its best! Omi is a jewel
Thanks mate! It's always really nice to spend time together now :)
Love the vids your simple tactics of the korda basics and hair rigs have helped my catch many fish including my pb at 22 lb and gave my confidence in what i casted out
Good to hear that mate! :)
The room turned out really nice! I'd love it to finally give spinfishing a try, and any kind of rod/tackle for that would be awesome :)
You and Alex are so expiring I enjoy watching ur channel some storage back would really help me to keep my tackle in
Hi Carl, I just wanted to say that your channels helped me a lot during my fishing career.
Hi Alex,
Been watching your content for the past 6 months and it has really helped in the development of my fishing, and the confidence to try new tactics. I started fishing when I was a lot younger and for sure caught the bug, but as I got older I became lazy and not as interested in going to the lake, however watching your content has re-inspired my enjoyment of fishing, and have so been going quite regularly in the past few months.
In terms of gear that I have always wanted, I'm not really sure but I have recently purchased a bait boat (yet to use it) it was a fairly cheap one and so would like to maybe get a nicer one someday in the future
Thanks a lot for the content that you produce and keep it up
Hoping for Tight lines for the years to come
I started fishing last year after a few friends recommended how stress reliving it can be and have recently got my 13 year autistic son into it with me he enjoys float fishing with his telescopic pole.
