Very nice. Big fan. What size hook! Do you still use a bite tippet if ur purposely getting a few jumps and breaking off? Thx.

During the actual hatch, we just run straight 50lb or 60lb cortland flourocarbon leader. that way if we break off, just tie on a new piece if necessary. Rather than having to tie on a tapered leader every fish. As for hook size, it's all on you. I use a size 1 or a size 2 SC15, my buddy Capt Russ uses tiny hooks, like size 4's. And we've landed plenty on his boat on those tiny hooks. He says it's easy to pull the hook and get to keep fishing that same fly, instead of breaking off and having to retie.

Hey man if I’m going to Marathon in a week, what leader, flies and setup should I use for 5-25 lb tarpon? Thanks!

For 5-25lb Tarpon, I like to throw a 5-7wt. Preferably a 5wt, myself. But for the leader I like to go all Cortland flourocarbon. I start off with a wingspan of 30lb Cortland flouro, then half a wingspan of Cortland 25lb Flouro. tie them together with a bloodknot, connect the butt section to your fly line via perfection loop, and then tie on a fly using the improved rapala loop knot. That should make your leader around 9-10' long. It's more than long enough, and works very well. The reason why I use Cortland flouro is that it's far thinner and clearer than any other leader I have used throughout the years, but it is also unbreakable. It's bulletproof. By far the strongest leader I've ever used, in all sizes. from using 4x tippet for trout, to 60lb for giant tarpon. As for flies, it just depends what they're feeding on. My other tarpon fly video, that fly works great when they're feeding on minnows. But in the keys, you might find fish that are feeding on shrimp, you can check out my bonefish fly video, as I catch a lot of tarpon on that fly in situations where Tarpon are feeding on shrimp.

Is this good for ocean clear water or can it be used in backwater too?

This is mostly for ocean clear water. I have a different video showing my backcountry fly
